Mia I needed a fresh start, and what better way to get one than by moving to a place where my only friends are my parents and my cat? New city, new mindset, new me. But when a gorgeous hockey player skates into my life, providing endless opportunities to showcase my lack of social skills, I’m forced to confront everything from my past that I’ve been avoiding—all while trying not to turn my kitchen into a flour-covered disaster zone.
Jack On the ice, I know my role—I bring the aggression, I’m the grit my team needs, and my only focus is making it to retirement in one piece. But off the ice, things aren’t as clear. Even from an early age, I knew I was destined to be alone, and I was okay with that… until I saw her. The one girl in the world who finally caught my attention, and no matter how many shots I get, I can’t have her.
Dual POV Slow Burn He Falls First Coach’s Daughter Touch Her & Die Hockey Romance
"She’s entered my orbit, and I’m set on making her my center of gravity."
• Hockey Romance • Dual POV • He falls first • 3½ 🌶️
"Earth to Mia, you are not in a romance novel. A professional hockey player is not going to fall head over heels in love with you."
Hockey romance will always have a hold on me, and this one was no exception. I genuinely adored these characters. Mia’s shy and awkward personality was incredibly relatable, and the chemistry between her and Jack felt natural and authentic. I will say there were a few moments I expected the story to dive deeper into certain situations, but they were kind of glossed over. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the read and had such a great time with it overall.
AH! I finished this last night but needed to sleep in order to clear my thoughts and now we’re here!
This book was AMAZING! I fell so hard for Jack Brody! AHH. This is a soft and spicy hockey romance that will have you giggling and kicking your feet. I was rooting for them so hard, I could not stop reading this book once I picked it up! That is saying a lot since I am not usually a fan of sports romance!
Also, Bean deserves recognition, surely the star of the show! 🤍
ALSO, I will be baking cookies today!
Thank you so much Katherine Elle for this ARC copy of Fated Shot, I can’t wait to see what else you have in store! 😍
If you adore a good hockey romance like me then you will love Fated Shot! This was a fast paced story featuring Mia and Jack. Honestly Jack was perfection and if a boy ever deserved to be loved it’s him. I adored the boys banter and friendship group. It also features Bean the cutest cat who might just be the star of the show. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it! I received a complementary copy from Booksirens.
Thank you to the author and Book Sirens for letting me read this early I ate Mia and Jack's story up in one sitting. With slow burn you never know but this was such an easy read and if you love the playing for keeps or maple hill series you will also love this book! Hoping Penn gets his own story 💜
On another note Jack could tell me to sit and id be SAT 🧎🏽♀️
First such a big thank you to the author for letting me be an ARC. It’s my first one 🥹 so it’ll forever be special to me plus the story is ❤️.
A cute deliciously cheesy perfect palate cleanser. Especially if you read dark romance or fantasy and just want a feel good comfy lovey book.
It’s a slow burn in someways so it takes a bit to get going but once it does it’s off 🚀 it’s bubbly bright and at moments kind of effervescent
As someone with anxiety and an empath books with a lot of trauma and chaos are emotionally exhausting for me. Fated Shot was a lovely little reprieve. I felt like I was in Wyndham every time I cracked it open , can I please rent a cottage for next season?
I adored Mia and Jack as individuals and a couple from the very start. You have a clear idea of who they are and Jack PG stalking Mia while simultaneously ruining her favorite booth at Cordelia’s is the most heart warming thing. I was kicking my feet and cackling about his obsession the WHOLE BOOK.
JACK IS CRAZY ABOUT HER! Totally head over heels, he falls first and I can’t even explain how much HARDER. Like a brick this boy the amount of times he says it’s/she’s best thing ever 🤭 .
Straight whipped but only for Mia 🥹 cause everyone else could get 👊
Plus it was my first hockey romance and it’s newb friendly. I loved that Mia found the courage to tell her parents about puke face Seb, ugh that guy and we get the satisfaction of watching him pummeled.
FOR LOVERS OF: * secret big friendly giants ❤️ * sunshine girls ☀️ * cats, cookies, coffee ☕️ * insta love/ insta lust, * gentle alphas 🐺 “tell me what to do”🤭 iykyk * cozy cottages 🏡 * horrible exs getting what they deserve 👹 * found family 🧑🧑🧒 * of course HOCKEY 🏒 * and PERFECT HAPPY FREAKING ENDINGS 🪄 .
And of course: CLASSIC contemporary romance with 🌶️
my only notes: I wish we saw Penn and the other side characters (but I’m sure there’s more of them to come 😉) i also wish we felt the tension of why they couldn’t be together earlier on. I love angst and will they won’t they. But it was so well developed later in the book and I loved getting that edge and raising of the stakes.
Thank you again ❤️ can’t wait for the next hockey hunk *cough cough* penn where ya at 😉
This was cute. I believe this is a debut novel, which is pretty impressive. I would consider this a cozy romance, since there is the threat of conflict, but nothing ever comes to a head, really. It's kind of nice to see things just kind of work out for this cute couple. Honestly, it could have used a bit more conflict or tension to help the pacing, but overall, this was a great debut with very sweet (shy) MCs and yummy spice. 3.5✨
I think I’ve been lucky recently with romance books because this was an absolutely wonderful find. Fated Shot by Katherine Elle is a novel that follows a professional hockey player and the coach’s daughter. Normally, I don’t care about the Coach’s Daughter trope, but the approach here was top-notch.
We meet Jack Broody, a young man playing for the Toronto Tundra team who, although he loves what he does, isn’t obsessed with his hockey star status. One summer, which he mostly spends at a café, he keeps noticing a young woman who intrigues him immensely, but he doesn’t have the courage to approach her. When the season starts and he steps onto the ice, he discovers that the mysterious stranger is the coach’s daughter, which complicates everything.
After finishing college, Mia decides to return to the small town where her family home is to be closer to her parents. During this time, she runs her small business—baking cookies with all kinds of quirky flavors and selling them (in large quantities) online. When she finds out that the mysterious man who always took her favorite booth at the café is one of the players her father coaches, she tells herself it’s not worth getting involved. But, of course, the laws of attraction follow their own rules.
Fated Shot is the kind of romance that focuses not only on the development of the relationship between the protagonists but also on the growth of the characters themselves. Jack is the kind of man who is decisive and fair—he may be intense on the ice, but never with the people he loves. Although he’s a towering figure, he’s not the classic alpha male, and I loved following this kind of MMC. He isn’t perfect and has his own dilemmas, traumas, and moments of insecurity, but he’s easy to empathize with, and his caring nature feels genuine. Mia, on the other hand, is an FMC who isn’t just beautiful—she has a dream, works toward it, and isn’t included in the story just to fill the “female lead” role.
What I didn’t like about her, though, was her indecisiveness when it came to her ex-boyfriend. There were plenty of situations where she didn’t act like an adult. Her naivety went to extremes at times, and that made me dock a star from the story because otherwise, it would have easily been a five-star read.
The chemistry between the two is palpable, and their relationship develops realistically. There are no dramatic scenes included just to shock the reader—it’s a light romance, free of exaggerated violence or extreme miscommunication, with complex characters far from being clichés. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, which will follow Jack’s best friend or brother.

I would like to first say, I'm not one for cozy contemporary romances. Usually if it's not paranormal, fantasy, or dark, I won't read it. HOWEVER, this was a really nice read. One of those "TikTok made me buy it" books that turned out to be really catchy. It was cute and had a good amount of spice, though I will always vote for more. It was sweet, to the point, and a quick read between series. I liked that the FMC was tall and curvy and that multiple characters on the hockey team found her attractive. I get a little bored with the "everyone makes fun of her weight except him" books, so that was nice. While some spots were a little slow or repetitive when the POV changed, which kept it from being a full 5 stars from me, I overall really liked it and would definitely read more from this author.
Isn’t quite a two star read because it’s not as bad as Icebreaker… or is it? Cringy, too predictable and they got together so early. Miscommunication all over the place and they never had proper conversations. This was wayyyy too millennial for me (and I’m someone who can acknowledge that I’m more millennial than gen z at times). The 80% “breakup” was such a weird one, his self talk wasn’t really like that throughout the book so it kind of came out of left field. But overall, I’ve read worse and I’ve read better so 3 stars it is (that two star spot is just for you Nate Hawkins and Creighton King)
Reading this before its official release has been a true gift. Elle’s writing is heartfelt and captivating, bringing these characters to life in a way that resonates deeply. For fans of romance that combines self-discovery with the magic of serendipity, Fated Shot is a beautiful and unforgettable experience.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fun, fluffy, and just what I needed to get me out of a reading slump! I loved how this book was paced and that we got to see the characters grow as well as their relationship throughout the whole story. What I think I liked the most is that while the book does cover some heavier topics, as a whole it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I wanted a fight a guy, but mostly I wanted to keep reading even after the book was done. This was such a fun read and I can’t wait for the rest of the series (because surely each hockey player is going to get a book, it’s the only fair thing to do after teasing us with all of them).
Thank you to the author and Book Sirens for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I rated it 3 stars because I found both the main characters, they had instant attraction and good scenes but I needed more tension in between. More of their lives outside of their relationship. More of their personality and more feels. And a problem for both of them to solve.
I did really appreciate how the abusive ex was written. As someone who was emotionally abused in a relationship it was spot on. Loved when the mmc was punching him in the face, repeatedly.
But I found both their personalities flipping back and forth. The fmc, first she's awkward and coming off a bad relationship and timid but the next chapter she's having confident banter and confident internal dialogue and her entire demeanor has shifted. But then she was back to shy and timid and unsure.
When they were having sex she had more sub tenancies but I would've thought after her last relationship where she was emotionally abused, she wouldn't have been quite there yet. And then suddenly shes wearing lingerie and it was like she had a whole different personality which kind of threw me. The mmc didn't give me soft Dom vibes at all the first part. Or the insanely jealous vibes either. The first half I honestly thought he was the golden retriever character the way he talked and thought about the fmc.
Same with the mmc, he was famous and broody but with eyes only for her but then at the restaurant he let that waitress continuing to make passes at him even though he could see it was making her uncomfortable.
Both of their past issues, her abusive ex and his father leaving, both seemed to be really important to their character but they kinda talked about it once and mooced on. Like problem solved.
Also I was confused at their relationship status right until then end. Because at first they were neighbours (I would've like to see more of this build up) and then they were sleeping together. I thought they were together at this point, then because they got caught by that camera guy and Penn she all of a sudden needs space? Which I'm glad she acknowledged that she shouldve communicated that better.
I'm glad that mmc showed his actual emotions about Penn being in the hospital and how he thought Reid was his fault as well (I thought Reid was playing hockey this entire time). I was not expecting that amount of emotion from him because it was talked about at the begining of the book that he thought he'd be alone forever and then at the end but nothing in the middle. Like it seemed like it came out of nowhere.
The first half he's obsessed with her and then he's deep in his feels. I did like their relationship and that he supported her dreams and that she was at his games but they still felt kind of insta love and they didn't really have life's outside of each other. The fmc made a wag friend but then the second half of the book she's never mentioned again DnD they don't hang out any more. The mmc had his brothers but thays really it. He didn't really hang out with all the hockey team after the bar. They didn't seem super important to his life.

I was so excited to get to read this book! It definitely did not disappoint. Jack and Mia’s story was such a great read.
Jack and Mia are both vacationing when Jack notices Mia. He never works up the courage to talk to her though, and they both end up going back to their normal lives after vacation. Mia has recently broken up with her longtime boyfriend, and is struggling with her confidence. She decides to move to where her parents are for a fresh start. To Jack’s surprise, he goes to his Hockey Coach’s preseason BBQ and sees his dream girl. During his Coach’s speech she is introduced as his daughter who has recently moved to town. Jack and Mia’s story continues from here of them becoming friends and developing feelings for each other. Jack is a great character who not only is a spicy talker, but wants to help lift Mia up and build her confidence back.
Tropes:
Professional Hockey Coach’s Daughter He Falls First Touch Her and ☠️
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a lover of hockey romance!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Wow wow wow I love hockey romances and this one just hit me right in all the feels good places.
This story follows Jack Brody (gorgeous hockey player) and Mia (the cutest shy baker).
The character development was so wholesome to read! I literally loved this. It was such a cute, good vibes read. I will 100% be recommending to all who will listen to read this cute as heck story!!!!
Jack falls first (which I freaking love) he gives off real golden retriever energy but has no qualms Turning into a pit bull for those he loves. Fiercely protective.
Mia is such a cutesy shy baker whose confidence has dwindled due to a bad relationship. She’s so cute! Gah I can’t stop saying it.
Jack helps Mia see her self worth and value again and Mia helps Jack see he’s a great guy capable of being loved. (Such a wholesome story line)
Okay okay a bit of a spoiler here but OMG I WAS FREAKING OUT ABOUT PENN! I really thought that wasn’t going to turn out good.
Penn is Jack “little brother” essentially, jacks mom died and his teammates/ best friends (Penn and Reid) parents took him in to raise him. You see a lot of Penn in this story and I think his witty banter adds a lot to the story line.
I fell in love with all of these characters (except seb… he’s a jerkface and I stand by that 😤😡🤬)
Thank you Katherine for letting me read your world. I can’t wait for me …. So when’s Penns book coming out. I’m afraid you just got yourself a lifetime follower I only do alittle light stalking 😂 pretty harmless but here for it !!!!!
Overall this story was a cutesy wholesome vibe and I ate it up!!!! Also the spiceeeeeee the bathroom scene at the club!!!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵 the long distance conversations 🥵🥵🥵 HERE FOR IT!!!!
Mia is spending the summer in Wyndham with her folks at their summer house, although she was staying in the converted boathouse. She finally feels more like her old self but still lacking in self confidence, her ex had totally controlled her and pulled her down and finding him cheating was the best thing. Jack had decided to rent a cottage for the summer in a small-town called Wyndham, best decision he ever made. Sitting in Cordilia's cafe in a small hideaway booth waiting she's due in anytime now. There she is gorgeous and totally addictive I can't help myself yet I just can't find a way to talk to her. Knowing the season is due to start if I don't do it now I don't know if I'll every see her again. Back in Canada the season is due to start back up and its family time on the ice, plus coach is happy his daughter has moved here too. Suddenly somebody plows into me, I turn and can it really be her my crush. Except Mia is coach's daughter and it is totally off limits. What will happen can they stay away from each other or will Mia's ex return with ideas of starting over. This is a story of self worth and confidence, family, friends and communication. The friendship and trust between the players is so believable and at times hilarious the way they wind each other up yet would back each other up in a heartbeat. This story hits on some tough subjects but it's done so compassionately but it's worth knowing to be aware abandonment, body confidence and domineering tendencies. There's a line that hit me and I think it's perfect for most people to remember "Blood doesn't make family". I loved this book and am hoping for more I'd really like to read Penn's story he seems a very interesting character
This book was so cute! I'm not usually a hockey romance girly, but this author popped up on my fyp and had such an adorable personality that I thought I'd give it a shot to see if it translated over to her writing. 1000% did not disappoint.
I made it through this book in one night. Yes, it's an easy read, but I just got super attached to the main characters and read until the birds started chirping. The dialogue between them has so much chemistry in the cutest, most playful way that I spent most of my time reading on my belly, kicking my feet lol.
The exact moment I knew I was hooked? Well, without giving spoilers, page 53, I was screaming at the book "CALL HIM!!!" and "OMG, she's gonna call him." 😂
You know how a lot of times the main character in a romance novel will have a bestie whose only real purpose is as a sounding board for a main character? IT'S HER FREAKING CAT! And not in a pathetic, my cat is my only friend way, but in a don't all cat people prefer their cat kinda way.
It was very low drama (which usually I prefer a lot of drama), but it more than made up for it in giggly good feels. I personally am fine with a well executed miscommunication trope, but I know that is a huge pet peeve to many readers so one thing I will say about this book is the two main characters actually communicate with each other when any issues arise and it's refreshing.
🌟🌟🌟🌟 definitely a new comfort read
🌶🌶🌶 rated R spicy scenes, but they are placed at logical, story-driven places. And while graphic, they stay safely in the romantic vanilla category (in a good way)
This book was lush! I picked it up after seeing a few Tiktoks from the author which made me chuckle, and I will look forward to her next book, No Shot, which is out in August (I'm hoping it's Penn's story!)
I connected emotionally to the characters, and the slow burn to them getting together was perfect. It was so nice to see them both develop, Mia in rediscovering her confidence, and Jack in realising that he wasn't destined to be alone. There was plenty of spicy spice, and I really liked the writing style. It included lots of Booktoker favourites, such as "Fuck it.", "She's going to be the death of me", and of course, "Good girl". The spice was a good blend of bossy and sweet.
The style of writing was engaging, and I struggled to put this book down. The characters were romantic with each other, without being sickeningly so, and I enjoyed the sweet moments between them. I also enjoyed the FMC being described as a girl's girl, with curves and insecurities. The insta-lust/connection between them was so believable, in that they slowed down and questioned it themselves, which helped me buy into the deeper connection they built.
I highly recommend a read of this debut novel from the indie author for anyone looking for a new hockey romance. ❤️🏒❤️
It’s a you don’t want to put it down book and gobble it up in one sitting. I love how you don’t know off the bat an important piece of info about Mia. Mia is a shy and reserved Baker. Jack is a hockey player for the Toronto Tundra. He is not who you would think he is. He protects those he is friends with and family and team. They both need to learn about accepting help and someone being there when they least expect it. It’s a very cute romance story. One you will want to read again for missed details. I really don’t want to give away the story but saying certain things.
5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and if you like a lot of details and open door descriptions this book is for you 📖
Fave Quotes
* Resting both of his hands on either side of my face, he kisses me so tenderly I feel like I’m floating. Nothing in my life has ever felt this right before, it’s freaking terrifying in the best way. I don’t deserve it. His kindness, his passion, his certainty, but I am going to do everything I can to prove I’m worth it.
* His eyes widen as he holds my face in his hands. “You’re everything. Nothing else matters, I wish you could see that. Nothing else ever mattered until I met you.”
I received this as an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily :) (and well deserved review at that!)
Oh. my. goodness!! I enjoyed every moment I spent reading this book. It is an easy 5 ⭐️ read & if you are thinking of reading this book…this is your sign to do it! You do not want to miss reading this incredible story. Jack—sigh—he is the ULTIMATE book boyfriend. I don’t think any character could be written more perfectly. His swoon-worthy lines had me highlighting almost every page! Seriously, if you're looking for a MMC who will steal your heart, Jack is the one.
This story will tug at your heartstrings, thanks to Jack's upbringing and the sense of found family he shares with his two best friends. His character, much like Mia's, is beautifully layered and complex. Mia, the strong and determined FMC, is passionate about building a career as a self-employed baker. Through Jack's perspective, we initially see only a glimpse of who she is, but as the story unfolds, her true depth is revealed. Mia is on a journey of self-growth after leaving a verbally abusive relationship, showcasing her resilience and strength. What makes this book truly special is how it seamlessly blends a heartfelt love story with the raw and relatable struggles of real life. Every character feels authentic, both enjoyable and deeply relatable.
This book is pure magic—heartwarming, inspiring, and utterly captivating. I couldn’t recommend it more!
I love a hockey romance. It is my favourite type of book and I was drawn immediately to this book. The cover alone is so cute and made me want to read this book. It's always a joy finding new authors and so it was great to be introduced to this authors work.
Jack Brody is comfortable on the ice. It's what he knows and he's more than happy to bring the aggression, determination and grit there but off the ice it's a very different story. He's always thought of himself as being alone I til he sets his eyes on Mia. She's the one girl that has caught his eye and it's safe to say she's got him spinning.
Mia is looking for a fresh a start. She thinks she has found that as she moves where her friends, family and of course her cat is. It's a time for a new start and a totally new mindset. But when she meets Jack she finds that she's got more than she bargained for.
With the following tropes. This book is certainly a winner and one I enjoyed.
Dual POV
Slow Burn
He Falls First
Coach’s Daughter
Touch Her & Die
Hockey Romance
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I highly recommend.
This book had everything to me. It healed me. It made me laugh out loud. it made me cry. It made me swoon.
Shesshhhhh Jack. 🥵🪭 He is a touch her and you die and that is the kind of man I ONLY want to read about!! He is a golden retriever that will turn Into a German Shepherd to protect the woman he loves. It was so refreshing to read. EVERYTIME he was on the page I was fighting not to swoon!
Now let's talk about Mia!! She was so strong and compassionate and kind and ambitious and lovely. She bakes cookies like nobody's business and she is building her cookie empire!!! I wish I was friends with her I KNOW we would be BEST FRIENDS!!!
And the rest of the cast like the Hockey teams. Also swooning. I need everyone else to have their own book stat!!!! And her Mia's parents. Sohs. Sobs. Love love love them. They were perfect and so supportive. 🥹🥹
What are you still doing here?! GO!! Read 👏🏼this 👏🏼book 👏🏼right 👏🏼now!!
I'm going back to reread it!!
Thank you so much Katherine for writing the most beautiful book with the most stunning cast!!
This book was so good and cute! I really loved the chemistry between Jack and Mia, their love story was super cute and there were some moments in the book which made me blush, laugh and angry. Jack and Mia seemed like they were made just for each other and they fitted together perfectly.
This book was definitely a 5 star read for me because of how well the storyline was written and how cute this book was! I don't usually read sports romance but I loved this book and this was actually my first book that I read from this author and it was my second indie author read.
Moreover, I loved all the characters in this book but there was one character in this book whom I hated and who really pissed me off, Mia's ex Sebastian. I hated the way he treated Mia and took her for granted, how he casually told her he cheated on her because she was boring and he wanted to have some "fun." That annoyed me so much because the AUDACITY!!! I was literally cursing Sebastian out and felt so angry towards him. I also got pissed off cuz of how he was threatening Mia and trying to get back together with her even though he didn't really love her, on how he kept reminding her that she's boring and is not enough or worthy/capable of being loved by anyone or being in a relationship. Lastly, I hated how he always looked down on Mia, that really pissed me off!
- player x baker - coach's daughter - forbidden romance - slow burn - protective H - he falls first
not a bad read, just didn't stick for me. i loved the H, i was rooting for him but at about halfway in, H/h go on the first date and there's this waiter who is hitting on him, she's flirty, like shove her tits on his face flirty(H's words not mine) and he doesn't put her in place or ditch the restaurant taking h elsewhere. Instead he decides to ignore ow's advances and makes h sit through the date even though she's clearly uncomfortable. he has eyes only for h and he's irritated as well but i was expecting him to do something other than sit idle ig. to me this was in complete contrast with his protective character portrayed before and after and it threw me off.
as for safety- both non virgins, he is not a manhoe. doesn't have eyes for anyone but her. no ow drama but there's om drama since h's verbally abusive ex can't take a hint. mild spice but the scenes were meh and boring lol

Jack is enjoying the summer break from hockey, hiding out in a small town’s coffee shop. A beautiful woman comes in for coffee each day and he is smitten. He has never even gotten the nerve to ask her out. Now back in Toronto, ready for the season, his coach has a barbeque and introduces his daughter Mia. Jack’s thoughts of Mia never leave his mind but dating the coach’s daughter is forbidden. Mia lived in New York until she got tired of her demanding boyfriend. Mia has her own company, making and selling baked goods. This is a wonderful book about the rigors of sports, the importance of family, and falling in love. I loved the way Penn’s family took Jack in when his mother died. The comradery of the hockey is great and their antics with each other offered a lot of humor. Mia and Jack’s romance was wonderful as she learns to trust and Jack begins to feel he is worthy.
Slow -Burn, He Falls First, Found Hockey Family - So Fun - Could Not Put Down!
This book had a bit of everything: humor, spice, hockey, angst and big feelings. Jack was a goner for Mia from the first time he laid eyes on her on vacation but despite being a "big hockey star" was too shy to approach her. Then he finds out that she is his coaches' daughter, living nearby, but off-limits. Enter the "stalkerish inappropriate Ex", Jack's protective streak and we are off to the races. I really liked both Jack and Mia and how they were together. I enjoyed the dual POV and slow build because it seemed like a natural progression, despite how fast Jack initially fell for Mia and I loved the "found family" of his teammates and their partners. I can't wait to read more of their stories - Enjoy!
I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This book absolutely checked all my boxes! I mean I LOL, I grinned like I was just a bit crazy and teared up also. This NEW author pushed all my feels buttons. I am telling you the only disappointment I felt was when I went searching for more books from her and there aren’t any! She promises she has started on the next in the series. A bit about the book… Jack is a hockey player, a “natural born fighter” who doesn’t mind dropping the gloves and defending his teammates. Off the ice he just keeps his head down and lives his life. Mia has just moved back to Canada after a bad break up. She’s an only child and man it is nice being back home w/ her parents. Both their paths cross at the locally owned coffee shop. He isn’t a “player” off the ice and she is shy and quiet. I loved reading their story! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
