I'm usually not too keen on books about influeners, but she's a food one and I like food 🤣, so it's fine. I'm eating some dill pickle popcorn while I type this up. She likes to remain anonymous, so you just know things are not going to go down well when that secret comes to light. Can't say I loved her lying for a good portion of the book really.
Overall, I can always count on Marni for some sizzleness out of the gate and throughout🔥and even though she usually follows the same formula ~ one night stand, fast burn steamage, usually they meet at a bar, he's an alpha former playboy...to name a few ~ the characters are still unique, which I appreciate. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the series when they come out.

You know there is a reason why I have coined Marni Mann as my fairy smut mother. And she really lived up to her name with this one! The smut hits in chapter one! I REPEAT, the smut hits in chapter one! Marni was not playing around with this one and for that I am forever eternally grateful!
I know we all have our favorite authors for certain things and for me, I will always turn to Marni when I am looking for a fast paced book with an intriguing plot with panty melting spice. That's where she excels. Oh and she always is amazing at giving us a hot billionaire who loves to eat. I mean what more could you want? And if that's what you are looking for, then The Arrogant One is for you!
I straight devoured this book! This book ate just like our boy Hart. And let me tell you, he was hungry 👀 Ok but in all seriousness, I loved this book and I am so excited for the Weston siblings to get their own series. Hart is one of the owners of The Weston Group, which is a chain of restaurants and clubs around the world, who meets Sadie at a rival restaurant. Their chemistry is off the charts which leads to a one night stand. But what they both have secrets. Sadie is one of the largest food bloggers in LA and she is set to review Hart's newest restaurant and she has no idea that her one night stand Lockhart is Hart Weston.
Listen at the end of the day, this book had me hooked from the start. I'm full invested in Marni's interconnected universe and Hart was the alpha hole that Marni always perfects. Oh and he does in fact live up to his name as the arrogant one!

This book didn’t quite land for me. It was an enjoyable read, but I didn’t feel that connection to the characters enough to make it a “great” read, ya know?
The relationship between Hart and Sadie seemed surface level at best, based only on sexual attraction, especially since she was lying to him the whole time (not a spoiler, it's in the blurb). It made for some great spice, but other than that I wasn’t really feeling it.
This is a really petty reason to not like a book, but I didn’t like the MMCs full name. It turned me off every time she said it, and it especially turned me off when she was shouting it during sex, which was a lot.
I’m still intrigued by the rest of the siblings’ stories, especially Eden.

Here we are again at the problem 🙄 I keep seeing in myself. Once again, this is the first I've read in a new favorite author 😍. Marni Mann has somehow escaped my reading clutches until now. I know, I keep asking myself the same question. WTH were you thinking? I can't even give myself an answer on that one. But now that I have seen why everyone LOVES ❤️ her I can totally agree on that sentiment 😍.
I went in head first and I am so glad I did. Marni did not disappoint when it came to the spice in this book. It came in hot 🔥 in the first chapter. Yep, you read that right. First chapter and we're getting a taste 😋 🤭 of what is to come in several chapters of this book. Hart did NOT disappoint in the fact that he was expecting a one night stand but came away with so much more. He didn't ever think he would wake up the next morning and be disappointed Sadie would be gone without leaving any info. That was when he knew this wasn't a one time thing. He wanted so much more. He didn't just want a nibble, he wanted the whole feast. This man was the ULTIMATE in making sure Sadie got what she needed but also taking her for a ride. She got so much more out of their time together without expecting to be so enamored by him. He had a whole vibe and personality that just made you want to be around him and just soak up his attention.
Seeing that they are both Foodies a lot of their dates revolved around food. Sadie loved everything about food so much she made it a whole career besides writing her food reviews. I love a woman who can own who she is and be her own boss! I loved that she was able to be a whole influencer but very few knew who she truly was.
Keeping a secret can be sooo hard when it comes to something that is your job but also a big part of you.
These two had managed to be their respective selves but also see how much their worlds were colliding without truly knowing the impact.
I couldn't have loved this book more! I loved that food was a big part of this but not as big as their love for each other was!
I cannot wait for my next Marni book so I can see how much more this woman will wrap me around her little Writer fingers!

Marni does it again! She can write the best, one night stand playboy that will never settle. I’m already obsessed with this new series! My favorite part? How Hart falls hard and fast for Sadie! Make sure you pick this new book and read this series! Best billionaire, romance with LA influencer. I enjoyed their chemistry very much, it was enthralling and I wasn’t able to put it down, it kept me up on each single chapter! Buckle up for an amazing ride, because this arrogant man, is just exactly what Sadie needed! This book had my cheeks red 🔥🙈 Hart freaking Weston!

I'm so beyond excited the Westons are getting their own series!! I love that Marni keeps expanding this universe of hers and that each book is able to stand out on its own. I love the idea of a restaurant group owner x foodie influencer. I don't think I've read any other books with those as part of the main tropes, and that uniqueness is hard to find these days! Hart was probably one of my favorite men Marni has written so far and I adored Sadie. Its fun to semi relate to Sadie, not that my booksta is anywhere near the level of Dear Foodie, but its still fun! I was rooting for these two from their first night together and I was getting so nervous for Sadie to tell Hart the truth. I'm sooo glad they got their HEA. I can't wait to see more of them in the next book and I can't wait to see which Weston will be the star of book two. I think I'm going to love this family just as much as the Daltons and the Spade/Coles.

We’ve got billionaire restaurant mogul Hart and Sadie, a foodie influencer with an anonymous blog and a serious case of main character syndrome. They meet at a bar, hook up, and suddenly she’s *the one*. Because… she has a magic fkn hooha, I guess?
Sadie thinks her Instagram food posts give her the same power in the restaurant world as Hart: the actual billionaire. Okay, girl. Then there’s her “secret identity”: reviewing restaurants while dating a man whose entire empire depends on them. Conflict of interest? Try common sense.
She refuses to tell anyone who she is, because... drama. Only there’s none. Hart finds out, forgives everything instantly, and we wrap with a happily ever after like nothing happened.
This wasn’t romance. It was a delusional influencer fanfic with zero stakes, no real plot, and even less believability.

Well, well, well. this was my first Marni Mann book and wowza, but it did not disappoint in the slightest. from the very beginning, it was 0 to 60 in 2 chapters. haha
I loved that these two were both prepared for their one night stand. fate had different plans. Lockheart and Sadie matched each other in every way. I very much enjoyed this book. The family banter between the brothers and their sister is top tier. my goodness, the fun and playfulness even between Heart and Sadie is great. overall, I enjoyed this book it was such a great intor into this new series, and I can't wait for the next one.

I love everything she does and has always captured my attention! pairing these two together is a treat and they work well together!

The first book I e read from this author and it really was good. I loved the plot and the secondary characters were as great as the main!

The Arrogant is the first book in Marni’s new series. Hart Weston and his siblings own several restaurants and clubs. Sadie is a well known LA blogger. The chemistry between Hart and Sadie was sooooooo good. I loved every second of it. If you are looking for a good spicy Billionaire romance this is a MUST!!

Without a doubt Marni Mann is the Queen of hot and spicy Billionaires. They are men that know what they want and go after it, unapologetically. And The Arrogant One, the first book in an all new series, is no different.
Hart Weston is one of 5 siblings that is part of The Weston Group. They own some of the best, most successful restaurants and clubs in LA and now in the Spade Hotels all over. Hart is known as the arrogant one. He is king of one night stands, because honestly, he doesn't want more than that. He knows what he has to offer and he knows he can satisfy a woman.
Sadie Spencer is successful in her own right. She works in social media and lives a very busy life. She loves food and has a gig where she needs to remain anonymous. She's not looking for the 'happy for now'. She's looking for 'happily ever after'. She's looking for love and she won't settle for less.
All I'll say is HOT DAMN, did Marni bring it!! I knew this book was going to be HOT, but I guess I didn't know HOW hot. Because my kindle could've gone up in flames within moments of Sadie and Hart meeting. The chemistry was electric! And even though everything was very insta, I loved the way Mann started the inferno, pulled it back in a little, and then started us on a very high heat forbidden romance between two people that were originally looking for two very different things, but soon realized they could find what they wanted in one another, if they could come clean and merge their worlds.

One of my favorite things about a 'one night stand trope' is when it immediately turns to more because the MMC falls fast and hard, even if he was the one that never wanted more.
From the start, Hart made it be known who he was, but Sadie decided to play with fire because if she was going to do it, why not with someone as confident as Hart? He definitely seemed like he could back it up. Plus, their chemistry and banter back and forth complimented each other so well. I couldn't NOT see them together after that first night. But with secrets between them, it was going to be interesting to see it all unfold.
Along with all the sizzling chemistry, the food aspect of this story was a major draw for me. Being a lover a food myself, I loved all the foodie aspects between these two and their backgrounds. I appreciated the way it brought them together, but also was curious how one part was going to be handled when it came down to it.
Overall, this was one hot read with some amazing characters that we were introduced to. I can't wait to read about all the Westons in their respective books (and perhaps get a recipe or two thrown in for me to try).

All I'll say is HOT DAMN, did Marni bring it!! I knew this book was going to be HOT, but I guess I didn't know HOW hot. Because my kindle could've gone up in flames within moments of Sadie and Hart meeting. The chemistry was electric! And even though everything was very insta, I loved the way Mann started the inferno, pulled it back in a little, and then started us on a very high heat forbidden romance between two people that were originally looking for two very different things, but soon realized they could find what they wanted in one another, if they could come clean and merge their worlds.
"Do you want a drink?"
"Are you going to have one?"
"Sadie, the only thing I'm drinking tonight is you"
One of my favorite things about a 'one night stand trope' is when it immediately turns to more because the MMC falls fast and hard, even if he was the one that never wanted more.
From the start, Hart made it be known who he was, but Sadie decided to play with fire because if she was going to do it, why not with someone as confident as Hart? He definitely seemed like he could back it up. Plus, their chemistry and banter back and forth complimented each other so well. I couldn't NOT see them together after that first night. But with secrets between them, it was going to be interesting to see it all unfold.
Along with all the sizzling chemistry, the food aspect of this story was a major draw for me. Being a lover a food myself, I loved all the foodie aspects between these two and their backgrounds. I appreciated the way it brought them together, but also was curious how one part was going to be handled when it came down to it.
Overall, this was one hot read with some amazing characters that we were introduced to. I can't wait to read about all the Westons in their respective books (and perhaps get a recipe or two thrown in for me to try).

The Arrogant One is the first book in The Weston Group series. What an introduction it was. This was so spicy, delicious and romantic. I wasn't sure at first as they definitely both do fall hard and fast, but Marni always manages to make it work perfectly. I loved how we got a feel for all the upcoming characters of this series and I am really excited to see where Marni takes the series.
Hart & Sadie have insane chemistry right off the bat. I mean this one is spicy 🥵 Although the storyline around it still managed to be fun and not be overshadowed by the spice which I enjoyed. I really liked the restaurant scene and the food influencer, I thought it was well done and really fun. Hart was so arrogant, confident and cocky but man he was so obsessed and in love with his girl Sadie it was intoxicating. They were absolutely fire those 2 together 😍
The secrets they both had between us added the “drama” to the story, but I really appreciated how they dealt with them. They both acted like adults and talked about it, instead of having a third act breakup, which to me would've definitely hindered my rating, so 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 the author for that !!!

The mouth on this man! But he's also swoony. Hart and Sadie meet one night and share immediate chemistry. Sadie isn't one to have a quick hook up but she's drawn to Hart and can't say no. Both Hart and Sadie are not forthcoming about their careers which comes up later.
I'm excited for this new series by Marni. I loved getting little glimpses of all the siblings and I'm looking forward to them all getting their own books. I am ready for Beck next!

I like Marni Mann's books, and was excited to start this series. While I don't think this book is worth the hype it's receiving from the BookTok girlies, the other Weston siblings are intriguing and I'll continue with the series to read their stories.
My entire problem with this book is Sadie. I found her annoying early on in the book, and then when her true identity is revealed and all she does is lie through most of the book ... she's just a pathetic FMC, in my opinion.
I also didn't really like the relationship between her and Hart. It's not really developed and it was hard to believe that they were madly in love with each other when 99% of their relationship was based on their sexual connection.
I wouldn't discourage anyone to read the book, it's not bad, but there were just a lot of aspects of the story, and especially Sadie, that ruined it for me.

I liked the premise.
Unfortunately, the execution fell flat.
The first interaction between Hart and Sadie set the tone for the rest of the book; awkward, repetitive, unsexy. The lengthy verbal foreplay came across as fanfic-esque word vomit from someone who didn't know when to stop. The actual sex scenes were dry and unimaginative, full of excessive exclamations reminiscent of low budget porn. Mann clearly does not believe in "less is more" and we, the reader, suffer for it.
There are other redundancies throughout the book-from the repeat introduction of side characters (Jenner Dalton the attorney, sometimes Jenner, then back to Jenner Dalton), to the almost verbatim rehashing of previous scenes by characters who had been present in that very scene. Truly a bizarre way of writing that I hope to never encounter again.

It started strong and then pissed me off with the completely unnecessary “secret identity” trope. The thing I did enjoy was that it was a quick burn and there's a lot of sex!!! That basically accounts for all of the stars.
Lockhart Weston (34-ish, restaurateur) runs his family's restaurant empire alongside his siblings, and they take pride in being one of the best in the US. When he's sent to check out a new competitor, he gets distracted and ends up sampling something that's definitely not on the menu.
Sadie Spencer (30, food critic) never thought her anonymous food reviews would be as popular as they are. When she heads out to review a new trendy spot, she leaves with a tasty snack before she can even sample the menu.
A night of amazing hot sex wasn't enough to get Sadie to stay, so she heads home to explain to her editor why she can't write her review.
Lockhart is disappointed when he wakes up to find the best lay of his life has left the building. Since he didn't get her last name, it's going to make finding her a little difficult.
These two food lovers end up reconnecting, they continue their stellar banging sessions, there's a misunderstanding about his identity, there's a lot of food and restaurant talk, there's flat out lies about her identity, a lot more hot sex, the truth, and then an HFN.
SEX: We didn’t have to wait long!! First time is at 11% and I was LIVING for this! I honestly think more people need to indulge in one-night stands. There’s no need for them to be as taboo as they are. Our lovely couple use condoms until the 54% mark, after they’ve established a relationship.
SADIE: Ughhhhhh. At the beginning, there’s this part where she makes an assumption and instead of clarifying, she jumps to the worst conclusion. I was soooooo furious. Then there’s the entire reason she keeps her identity a secret. IT’S STUPID. I’m putting it as a spoiler because if this trope is an issue for you, you’ll definitely need this to make an informed decision before you read.
LOVE: When I was trying to find quotes about love, the majority of them were related to sex. While I do think a strong sexual connection is necessary for a healthy relationship, I would have liked more hearts and butterflies.
RATIO: A huge chunk of the book was regarding cooking, restaurants, food, etc. The rest of the time was spent on sex.
AUDIO: It’s not a duet, but still worth a listen. Aiden Snow never fails to get my knickers wet. Vanessa Edwin is decent, with two exceptions. Her voice for the supporting characters, plus the voice she uses when she’s whining or begging are all horrendous. Other than that, I have no big complaints. Honestly, Aiden is who makes this sexy.
I haven't finished the rest of the series, but I'd say this is a good listen simply for the hot sex.

This is only my second read of Marni Mann's, and the first was a very emotional story about loss and grief. It took me a bit to adjust my expectations to this incredibly steamy story that was burning hot from the beginning. Once the necessary adjustments had been made, I really enjoyed it. The story itself was such a fun premise and also helped to introduce the rest of the characters for this new series. As with any story with secrets, you can see the train wreck coming from a mile away, but Mann found a way to soften the blow and make it a really great ending.
I'll definitely be continuing this series for more fun and spicy stories!

The Arrogant One is the first in a new series about the Weston siblings. Our mmc, Hart Weston, is on the business side of his family’s company that owns restaurants and clubs around the world and isn’t recognizable. He is out at a competitor’s restaurant when he first meets our fmc, Sadie. She’s there to eat alone as well, but as her alter ego Dear Foodie, the LA food influencer. It’s an instant connection for both and their chemistry sizzles on the page. He introduces himself as Lockhart, his full name, in case someone recognizes him. She has no idea who he is and he finds that refreshing. He convinces her to go back to his hotel room for the best night of her life, she agrees and boy does he deliver. They don’t exchange numbers and she leaves without saying goodbye the next morning. But as luck or fate would have it, they see each other out again and its the beginning of something special and very spicy. I loved their text exchanges and Lockhart has one dirty mouth. The spice burned up my kindle. I loved her job as Dear Foodie, wouldn’t mind that being my job. The recipes that were mentioned sound so yummy! Ms. Mann’s inclusion of these types of details highlights just how well written this story is and how she brought it to life. Sadie’s alter identity is what ultimately becomes the main issue for the couple. They are able to navigate the bumpy and at times angsty road on the way to their HEA. “Perfectly flawed, perfectly beautiful, and perfectly ours.” I loved how Ms. Mann was able to weave a story that included characters from her other series, The Spade Hotel and The Dalton Family. This was a wonderfully written romance with perfect spice and banter that would satisfy any romance reader. I can’t wait to read about the next Weston sibling, Beck, coming out in July.

I loved this book! It was a great start to the Weston series and had the perfect amount of spice, swoon, and secrets.
This book follows Sadie who is a food influencer and Hart Weston, who is part of the Weston Group along with his siblings. Weston doesn’t do commitment and Sadie has never had a one-night stand. When they cross paths by chance, they both can’t deny their chemistry. But, one night is never enough.
