Secrets unbelievable..

Close for everyone, can't believe that someone tried to hurt the man. Almost had me wanting to skip a few chapters, so I could see the status of the shooting victim. No skipping for me.

Splitting up the team again, kinda ticked off some people. I like it better when they are all on the hunt.

Blake got some great payback.

A Shot to Kill is Book #26 in the Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thrillers series by Elle Gray. This is a binge-worthy cocktail of high-stakes suspense, emotional depth, and relentless twists. Across the sprawling series, we follow Blake Wilder (a fiercely intelligent FBI agent with a shadowy past as well as a personal vendetta) as she hunts killers, unravels conspiracies, and confronts the ghosts that refuse to stay buried.
What made this series stand out for me was the great balance of grit, intrigue, and emotion. The cases are sharp, fast-paced, and satisfyingly unpredictable, but it was Blake’s personal journey - her resilience, vulnerability, and razor-sharp instincts - that hooked me and had me completely invested in her and the outcome of each story.
If you love strong, complex heroines, morally tangled mysteries, and a series that keeps upping the stakes without losing its emotional core, then this is sure to be your next obsession.
A gripping, fast-burning thriller series that’s as much about justice as it is about survival - and it was impossible to read just one.
Happy Reading…

A definite must read book and series!!

This became one of my most favorite series from the first book, and every story just keeps getting better and better! To say that I was shocked by the content in the beginning of this story would be a huge understatement, and something that I never saw coming. I love the relationship between Blake and Fish, mainly because it's so unexpected and definitely not like Blake, which makes it even more special. He's become a large part of this series, and it's difficult to contemplate the series without him.
Although I understand why it's like this, I have to admit that I really miss having Astra and the rest of the team around. Even though they both have their own issues, Blake and Astra are the kind of women that are easy to idolize. Which makes it easy to love their characters.
I can't wait for more of this series!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Elle Gray and Blake Wilder have done it again!

In a “Shot to Kill”, Elle Gray has taken the Blake Wilder series to a new level of storytelling. The storyline, new characters and Ms Gray’s ability to tell a new and different story with each Blake Wilder book, gives the reader the need and want to anticipate her next book. I only wish that we didn’t have to wait until July of 2025 to read her next Blake Wilder book. Congratulations to Ms Gray for developing a “page turner” series.

When Blake wilder gets a phone call saying her friend Fish has been shot and is in the hospital she rushes to his side. They have a case of abducted children in another state but she sends her team and vows to catch the person responsible. As she investigates she gets a call from Fish's attorney. He informs her that in his will Fish has given her power of attorney. Now she has to decide whether to pull life support or not. She can't bring herself to do that and instead throws herself into the case. This one will leave you holding your breath for what might happen next.

The councilman

I was disappointed How you kept referring to the councilman and the parking ticket that he could get convicted on that he had a perfect reputation, you had socials that proved he was at home and a video that showed someone broke into his car You really beat that 1 to death Parking ticket Parking ticket Parking ticket There's no way he could have been convictedThere's no way he could have been convicted

Captivating

This series is one of my very favorites. Blake Wilder is so complex, yet very relatable. She's a rock star FBI agent that always seems to catch the bad guy, even if it is at a cost.
If you're debating on reading this, don't. It won't disappoint. But you should start at the beginning some time.

it’s personal for Blake

As far as I am concerned, the Blake Wilder series exhibits the best of Elle Gray. Still recovering from the end of her last case, Blake’s friend and longtime CI Fish is shot in a drive by outside City Hall. Blake takes it upon herself to investigate the case. The story is fastly paced and tight with tension. Another winner in this series.

FBI thriller you have to read!!!

Blake Wilder’s good friend is shot and in a coma. Will he wake up, the doctor is not sure. So Blake does what she does best and starts her investigation to find who is responsible. This is one of the authors best Blake Wilder’s FBI mystery book. Once you start it you won’t want to put it down!

Another page turner

Elle Gray never lets you down as a great Author. I have yet to read a book of hers I did not like. This one was no exception, it keeps you guessing who was the criminal. One of her main Characters in her books is severely injured, which keeps the pages turning to see what is going to happen. I will not say any more than that no spoil alerts from me.

New story line

I am glad there are new characters in the story line. Also, it is encouraging to see Blake starting to get more of a personal life. Although I sometimes get tired of some of the story line. These Blake Wilder books are good and I keep reading. Start the series you will enjoy them.

oh dear

Fish is the victim of a drive-by shooting, while Blake is assimilating a new case manager into the unit.

Between searching for the shooter and juggling Seattle P.D.’s obstreperous detective, Blake has her hands full.

In this book, Blake's friend has been shot. Her team splits up to work on two cases. She tries to find out who shot her friend, with some twists along the way.

I received this book as a digital ARC. This is my honest and unsolicited review.

Like a Dog With a Bone!

I so enjoy Chief Blake Wilder’s unorthodox methods of investigation. It was refreshing to have more interaction with Nina & the addition of Opal. I read it every chance I had until the last satisfying sentence.

Friend Shot

Blake (as always) works hard to find the people who tried to kill her friend. Lots of bad leads but in the end she solves the case. Very good story. Mystery solved to find out why and who one should read the book.

Shot to kill book

Elle Gray’s writing is the best. I have read all of her Blake Wilder books, except for the last two. This book was so good. I wish she would continue writing the Blake Wilder books. The main characters are more like family to me.

Predictable, thriller

This is the first book in this entire series that I was able to predict who did it or who the UNSUB was. I didn't know how it would come about but knew who the UNSUB wad.
