Les chapitres se succèdent sans temps mort pour immerger le lecteur au coeur de l'intrigue et lui faire partager les émotions des personnages.

It takes the author to London, where she worked as an actress and met her English, opera-director husband, and back to Ireland, to a remarkable stone house on the Dingle peninsula.

Enough Is Plenty: The Year on the Dingle Peninsula, a sequel to The House on an Irish Hillside, was published by The Collins Press in 2015. Illustrated with photographs by Felicity and her husband, and with a foreword by the best-selling Irish writer Alice Taylor, it charts the cycle of the Celtic year in Felicity's own house and garden.

Cette note est principalement due à la traduction. Est-elle faite par IA, je ne sais pas, mais il y a vraiment des gros problèmes dans les phrases. Beaucoup d’expressions anglaises ont été traduites littéralement, ce qui rend la lecture très compliquée, sans parler des phrases qui manquent des mots.
Pour parler de l’histoire, c’est une petite comédie romantique de Noël, exactement ce à quoi on s’attend en choisissant ce livre. Si vous parlez anglais, lisez la version originale, ça rendra sûrement la lecture plus agréable !

j'ai difficilement réussi à en venir à bout. les évènements tombent sans lien les uns avec les autres. Adam, chef le +cool, se confie sur toute son enfance, sans qu'on sache pourquoi. l'aide cuisine, est très angoissée, mais on ne sait pas pourquoi....et au final, on s'aperçoit que c'est pour rien... vraiment sans intérêt. Et on ne parle pas de la pseudo héroïne du livre, qui finalement passe au 2eme plan, voir au 3eme plan.

Catherine, avec sa mère, ouvre enfin la librairie de ses rêves ! Jusqu'à ce qu'une catastrophe vienne mettre en péril Noël, mais elle saura compter sur la solidarité des habitants 😊

Le titre est accrocheur, la couverture est très jolie, le résumé fait envie...mais j'ai malheureusement fini par abandonner ma lecture, n'ayant pas réussir à entrer dans l'histoire et à m'attacher aux personnages 🙈

J'ai vraiment essayé de donner sa chance au livre, d'autant que je venais de commencer mon nouveau boulot de libraire, mais j'étais parfois un peu perdue dans ma lecture 😕

De plus, je comprenais pas toujours les changements soudains de réactions des personnages par rapport à la situation rencontrée !

Je me suis même demandée s'il n'y avait pas des soucis de traduction, tant certaines phrases n'avaient aucun sens dans le contexte 🙈

Je n'aime jamais abandonner un livre, mais voilà, on ne peut pas plaire à tout le monde, et je suis contente de savoir que le livre a trouvé un lectorat 😃
