It all starts with an invitation to my family’s annual Christmas party.
Every year since I moved to the Mortal Realm, I receive said invitation and politely mark unable to attend. That was the plan for this year until I read the letter my mother enclosed with it.
This year, my attendance is required as she believes it’s time for me to return to the Fae Realm because she has found me a suitable mate. As if I’d ever allow her to choose my mate for me. I’ve never allowed my parents to run my life, and I’m certainly not going to allow it to happen now.
Kissed by Cupid allows me a unique opportunity to find monstrous dates to the party that will have my parents disowning me before I can say unicorn fae. The Fae Realms might have once been my home, but it was never one in which I felt I could be myself. No, my home is here, in the Mortal Realm, with my coven of best witches.
Now it’s time to make sure my parents understand that by making a very loud, very public statement at their beloved Christmas party. I can’t wait.
Lee is a holiday paranormal why choose/polyam romance (MMMMFMMMM) in which there will be no choosing among love interests. This book is intended for readers 18+ due to language and content. This book was previously published as The Monsters' Christmas Party in the 12 Dates of Christmas shared world.
I love Lee even more now than I did the first time I read her story. She's so down to earth, sweet and just so comfortable in her own skin. She's not afraid to be exactly who she is and isn't afraid to speak her mind. With how big her personality is I understand why she has so many mates.
I really liked all of them. I do loveeee that they were all different types of monsters but still got along and took to each other fast. Them and Lee got instantly obsessed with one another the minute they saw each other. When they met they already had so much chemistry I wasn't surprised when they started falling for each as quickly as they did.
Lee saw the beauty in their monster form that not even some of them saw in themselves. She was dealing with a lot of different personalities but was able to handle everyone like nothing. Their relationship with her flowed really well.
I love the relationship the siblings had in this one. Lee and her brother and the triples. It made me super happy seeing how close they all were. How the triples were so supportive of each other and didn't hesitate to apologize and make up if they did something to hurt each other.
The only thing I would have liked was for we can get more of Dáinn with Rory and Quinton with Biran. They had their own bond and I would have loved to see more of it. At least them having one on one time.
This is another great story in the Coven of Best Witches and brings us the story of Lee who is a no nonsense witch that won’t let anyone tell her what she should or shouldn’t be doing. Lee also has that element of sweetness and is so easy to get along with. Then as always fate steps in and gives Lee her very own mis-match of mates, all different monsters but all that work so well as a unit. With her men Lee gets everything she could possible want, she sees beyond the monster to the heart and soul within. This story pulls you in and a fantastic read for this time of the year.
Oh my gosh Lee was so fun! Her whole attitude was a mood. From the way she was trying to stick it to her parents to how easy she loved her guys. And oh those guys were 🔥 and immediately smitten. Lee and her coven were the best friends you wish you had growing up. I’m interested to see their stories as well. A short and fun ride with some spice
This was such a fun take on a PNR holiday romance! I loved the concept of a dating app to help find mates, and I won't lie, Lee's application had me laughing so hard as I read it. What I truly loved about that part of the process is that she was so freaking honest with her application, and that honesty continued through the book as she got matched with her monsters.
I loved the variety of monsters that May and Marie wrote about - each one was so unique (including Lee herself), and it was the uniqueness of the combinations that kept me reading - especially with the MM content, too.
I enjoyed how it took time for everyone to become comfortable with each other - it definitely felt more naturally written - and I loved that even within what felt like such a short read, we got so much character development. I also love that whilst this is a spicy book, it's not heavy on it, again leaning into the natural progression of the relationship.
Can't wait to the rest of the books in the series, and hope that the other Coven members find their HEA like Lee did.
Thank you to the author and Dragonfire Teams for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
This was a fun take on a PNR holiday romance. I loved the concept of a dating app (run by the fates no less) to help find mates. The world is fun and expands on the "typical" paranormal groups we see. The varying groups of "monsters" were all ones we have heard about but rarely see brought in a romance book, it was well done.
Being able to see our FMCs application for the dating app as priceless and brought some much needed humor to an otherwise tough topic of dating. Watching her find her mates and enjoy the relationship when it may not have been priority one was really endearing. Each of her mates brought something fun to the table and had a uniqueness that the relationship needed. It was also nice to see each of the mates grow into themselves as well as finding their footing in the "pack."
The coven of best witches - it made me envious of their easy and supportive friendship. I loved their dynamic and once again they were not all the same bringing their own unique story to this dynamic friendship.
I am excited to see how the rest of the coven prevails in their own story!
If you want a fun holiday PNR romance look no further, you won't want to put this one down!
Lee loves what she does and where she lives. Most of all she loves her group of friends and how they form the coven of best witches. But when her mother sends an invitation to a party and requires her to come, what will she do? She doesn’t want her future to be decided for her. Can she figure out some dates to take? Will she be able to get out from her mother and father’s requirements?
This was a fun book that follow’s Lee and her journey into breaking free from her parents. Lee’s heart is so open and she shows her affections without any issues or holding back. I liked getting to know each of her men and how different they are from each other. This is a fun start to this series and I can’t wait to see what the other witches will get up to.
This was such an interesting take on PNR romance. I loved the concept and the world. The dating app to find love was interesting, I loved how it was with monsters. Very good!
I will say that I loved Lee and her application did make me laugh lol. I loved the variety of monsters that Lee was matched with. Each brought something to the relationship that I loved. It definitely took a bit of time for the characters to be comfortable with each other and their love to grow but it was so good.
I loved the romantic scenes between the characters and the sweet moments they made me swoon. But I will say the spice was a plus! I always love some spice!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It was a cute read and I’m excited for the next on in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone of interconnected stories. I do recommend this book!
Lee has been living in the human realm for years. She has her "coven" and her beauty blog. She is happy but when she gets her parents Christmas party invite and announcing that they have chosen her a mate she knows its time to make a stand.
Enter Kissed by Cupid a dating site for the human and paranormal that boasts being able to match you with your fated mate(s). Lee makes her profile looking for the biggest, baddest, ugliest monsters to attend the party with.
As monsters get matched with her she finds that they may not just be an excellent way to piss off her parents. Come and meet Lee and her monsters.
These monsters have just about given up hope of ever finding someone who can accept their monstrous forms but they never could have expected that a beautiful unicorn might have something they are all seeking.
This book is so much fun apart from the hard to spell names (which I love) of the unicorn fae! Lee is such a beautiful character, inside and out. Her guys are all monsters by the worlds standards, but they are all good men and interact with Lee beautifully. I love the four friends, all the girls are gorgeous. The world building, especially the fae realm is great and I adored the tree! Reading this again, a year later has just increased my love for this book. I really enjoyed getting to know this group of guys again, although with so many it is hard to get to know them all well. Lee is really well fleshed out though, she at first glance seems a bit shallow, but under the beauty influencer personna she is tough and strong and I adored seeing her stand up to her parents in such a well deserved way!
I loved this story. Lee is such a fun and sassy lady. She definitely knows how to speak her mind and make sure she lives her best life. We have her giving us humor and then when she does her live shows they never fail to deliver. Then we have the guys all with such fantastic personalities. The variety of monsters that is included is such a mesh of different kinds that just seem to blend beautifully. The story is a fun story that definitely pulls you in. I love the story incorporated her best witches and how they really support and care for each other. I absolutely loved her family’s annual Christmas party because it was a slam dunk on how she handled it. This story is absolutely a must read and it doesn’t disappoint.
I’m obsessed with Lee and all her men. Her sass and confidence just beams through the pages of this story. She is one Unicorn who knows wants and she isn’t afraid to go after it. What starts out as a way to make her parents mad turns into something that changes her life for the best. It’s a fast pace fated mates type story. It will definitely have you smiling and laughing… also wishing you could reach your hands in the book and dealing with Lee’s parents yourself. There are not a lot of fan yourself moments but when they do appear…. Oh my lanta. This is the first in a series of different stories from the best friends and I’m actually super excited to read their stories as well.
This might be the cutest romance book I have ever read! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this, but I am so glad I read it! I have never heard of a unicorn far before so I was immediately intrigued and I love monster books, so…SOLD!
Lee was adorable! So sweet and she knew exactly what she wanted! The men…just wow! The variety of them! And Lee loved them for who they were! The Christmas party was amazing and I loved Lee’s brother Lorcan!! He was a great supporting character!
While this was definitely a cute book, it was not without spice! I mean, Lee did have 8 mates…so what do you expect? 😂 it was a great mix and a fantastic story! I can’t wait to read about the rest of the best witches!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a fun holiday romance where the fmc is determined to take back her life and diatance herself from her parents. She has left the fae realm to live on earth and has created a coven called the best witches with her friends. Every year she gets an invitation to attend her families Christmas party and every year she refuses but this year her mother is trying to force a mate on her that she has no intentions of taking. So what would any sane person do they join a dating app to bring her own dates to the party. I loved the growth all the characters showed the humor that we get through the book and our strong fmc. Can't wait for more in this world.
This is the first book in the series Coven of Best Witches. I was hooked right from the start and couldn’t put it down until the end. Our FMC main character comes from a snobby family who want to use her. To rebel against her parents she uses a dating app to find some monsters to take to the family party and wow does she find many sexy ones. The guys are sweet so there is a play on who are the real "monsters" of this story I love the mix of humor and spice throughout the story. Miranda May and Katie Marie a fantastic job teaming up. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read about the other girls dates.
What the best way to stick it to elitist parents.... bring eight monsters to their Christmas party. Lee receives another dreaded Christmas party invite from her parents except this time her mother has decided to also arrange her marriage along with it. So with the help of the dating app Kissed by Cupid, she decides to bring not one, not two but eight huge (in every way) monsters as her date to the party in response. Little does she know that all eight gorgeous and terrifying monsters will end being so much more by the end of the night. Absolutely a 10/10 read, could hardly put it down. Will definitely read the other books to read the other best witches stories.
I loved this book from the start. Especially the Cupid opening. I so hope he will get his own book. Lee and the girls are such good characters that I'm glad all of them will get their own book. And even though this book was on the lighter and shorter side I was happy to see the authors’ managed to discuss insecurities and worries of the MMCs. It was good to see that even powerful and well-off guys can be insecure. I also hope Lee’s brother will get his own book. His relationship with Lee reminded me of my relationship with my own brother.
So much fun reading this one. To go against snobby parents what is a girl to do? Sign up on a dating app and make sure you already have what you need. So that is what our girl does and I love that the app is run by the fates so you know it's gonna be good. Now she finds interesting mates for sure and has a nice twist as to who are actually the monsters here. Hint it's not the mates. I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to read the next. As I understand it is a series of standalone.
Lee is a beauty influencer and enjoys her awesome life in the mortal realm. Her parents, of course, have decided that it’s time for her to return to the fae realm and settle down with a mate they’ve chosen. All this occurs when they issue a summons under the guise of attending a Christmas party. Insert eye roll here. Lee decides to take up a suggestion and uses the dating app recommended to her. What shocks Lee is the app telling her she got matched. Let the fun times roll. Want to know my favorite scene? Well it has to do with a sweet drink at a lake! Intrigued? Read Lee and enjoy!
I can not say enough good things about this book. I absolutely loved it from the very beginning to the very end. I read it in one day and could not put it down. The two authors did a tremendous job in writing and providing just enough detail in character and world building that the read does not get lost. There are so many quotes throughout this story I could not narrow it down to just one that resonated with me. If you want a fun, playful, yet spicy read I highly recommend this series. I cant wait to read the next one in this series.
A summons by her mother to come to the family Christmas party because said mother is going to introduce Lee to her Mate? Un- no thanks. Lee goes to a dating app to find a date, and boy does she find dates/mates. Miranda and Kaytie write an amazing story for their readers. It is full of honesty (especially Lee's application for the dating app), it shows how numerous characters learn to merge their needs to connect with the whole group, humor, a very strong FMC and great mates- all of them.
Lee is a unicorn shifter looking for monsters to take to her parents Christmas party. She's mainly hoping to irritate them and get them to finally leave her alone, but along the way she finds herself falling for her 8 monsters. They're all so different and yet they work together. This was short and sweet and had a couple spicy group scenes that were hot as sin. Can't wait for the rest of the witches stories!
This is the first book in the Coven of the Best Witches series. This book might be my favorite Miranda May book I've read so far! This is the first book I've read by Kaytie Marie and won't be my last. I loved Lee and her sass/ability to speak her mind. I love the bit with Cupid and hope he gets his story! Lee’s mates were all unique, but together were exactly what Lee needed. This is a Why Choose book with EIGHT mmcs!!! 10/10 recommend.
Very much enjoyed reading this book. Miranda May and Kaytie Marie are a power duo who write such captivating, enjoyable and memorable stories.
From overbearing parents, a strong female, monstrous men and everything in between, this is a feel good Christmas story that has you getting in the spirit from the start. Loved the dynamics between Lee and her friends, and also wth her men.
10/10 read and cannot wait to see what this duo does next.
I loved this! It's Lee & her monsters' story & it was a great one! She went on the dating app for an entirely different reason & wasn't expecting to find her mates. The guys are all so great & it takes them a little time to warm up to each other, but I loved this storyline & the spice! Highly recommend this book & author!
A monster harem for Christmas, just what a strong, sassy, independent unicorn fae needs. There is so much love and acceptance in this story. These types of stories give me strength as a reader, that there is a perfect someone or someone's out there, despite their differences or quirks. Because we are all different and that acceptance and unwavering love is what is needed now more than ever in this world. The underlying tale of unwavering friendship between Lee and her Coven of Best Witches is also a joy to read.
This was a cute and relatively short read. Pretty low angst as well. I liked how diverse all of the MCs were. Everyone was a monster but a different type, it was cool to see that level of diversity since there were so many MCs. It was a little hard to keep track of all of Lee’s mates at first though bc she has 8.
Super super cute! I love that she is her own person and just wants what every adult wants, away from their parents. Her best witches (I love that even more) encourage her to be herself! Doesn’t get spicy till the end but when it does 🫣🤤🤤 I love Lee and love that she knows what she wants in her life and her monsters are it!
This is the first book in the Coven of Best Witches series. In this series we will follow a group of friends on their relationship journeys. I enjoyed this first book with our FMC Lee (Laoise). It was a fun read with multiple mates that had a nice amount of steam. I look forward to following along with the other girls' romantic ventures in the next books. Totally recommend. 4⭐️ 2.5🌶
Miranda always has a way to suck you right in. And MAN. This one is just as good as always. Lee is stuck in a situation she isn't happy with, and to make her parents angry, what better way than to find the worst kind of monsters to them? But! Of course, there's a twist. And soon we get to see her get her HEA! It's amazing and hiiiiighly recommend reading!
