The first book in a brand new series from bestselling author Sarah Robinson, Logan's Story is a glimpse into the famous rockstars past and how he achieved his fame. Before the lights, stage, and music, Logan Clay struggles to figure out who he can trust and whether or not love comes with guitar strings attached.

Logan Clay has the talent, and he's put in the time.
All he needs is that one big break,
just one chance to prove he has what it takes to be a rockstar.
But his musical dreams are further away than ever...

And then she walks in to his life,
offering him everything he's ever wanted - fame, fortune, and music.
There's no question that he's going to take the chance,
or that he wants to take her at the same time.

But everything is not what it seems.
Will it be too late when he realizes his one big break
was actually a deal with the devil in a short skirt and neon colored hair?

DISCLAIMER: This book was originally published in June 2014 with the title "Logan's Story: A Sand & Clay Prequel" by Sarah Robinson. Since then it has been re-edited, a few short scenes here and there added in, and given a new title and a new cover in order to improve the novel. This is the final product of that revision process so there have been a lot of changes, but the story itself is relatively the same. This novel is meant for 18+ years old.

Logan’s Story is #0.5 in the Sand Clay series by Sarah Robinson.

Logan Clay is very close to his parents. His mother is in a wheel chair and his father cares for her full time so the responsibility of paying the bills falls on Logan’s shoulders. It’s a huge responsibility but one he easily accepts. There is one thing, though, that Logan might love more than even his family. His music. At a young age he showed a natural ability with the guitar and it soon became his life. Now as an adult, he’s trying to make it into a career. He and his band have been playing small time bars and have a following but it doesn’t pay the bills. But finally, his big break might be within his grasp. A famous scout is coming from New York to hear them play.

 photo 399bff496169d0402be56ad8_640_zpsdbd1e67f.jpg

“Tonight was the night. This was his chance.”

Logan doesn’t have time for women. Between his regular job, his gigs, and spending time with his parents, he can barely fit in any time for sleep. But the same night the scout was supposed to show up, he meets Gina Vile in the bar, not realizing she was the daughter of the scout, Garrett Vile. The attraction is mutually instant. And the gig was one of the best of his life. Is it possible that in one night, everything in his life could change and that his hopes of the life he has dreamed of his entire life might actually come true?

“Stole my heart just to throw it away,
No explanation for the games you play.
Am I just a Friday night to you,
Or are we going to see this through?”

 photo music_zps396c0a59.jpg

As always, though, dreams come at a cost and it is a price Logan has to decide if he is willing to pay. His mother’s health takes a turn for the worse further complicating things. And what about Gina? Are her motivations pure or is he just a rung on the ladder to her own success in the business?

This was a perfect introduction to Logan’s life. He is a simple man, hugely talented, that just wants to be recognized for his music. And he wants to be able to provide the care for his mother that she deserves. I’ll keep my opinions to myself regarding Gina and let you decide what you think. I can’t wait to continue on to see what is in store next for Logan Clay!

I really enjoyed beta reading this story for the author. I think this is my new favorite book of hers. This is the prequel to Sand and Clay, and it introduces us to Logan before he becomes a famous rock star, back when he was playing in bars with his band. This story has so much depth and challenging events, I was surprised that it could all fit in a novella. But it works so well, I was gripped by the story, and when I got to the end, I yelled no!
Logan has played guitar his whole life. Now, he finds himself playing gigs at the bar and working 12 hour days in a warehouse to help pay his mother's medical bills, as well as keep a roof over all their heads so his father can take care of his mom, since the accident had made it impossible for her to take care of herself. He loves his family, and he has no regrets. But what happens when a big scout is going to be at their show? What will the guys do? And when bad things happen, what is the right thing to do?
This story has so many surprises and twists, it sure feels bigger than a novella, but you can read it in one sitting. And that's a good thing, because I could not rest until I got to the end.

I was so excited to be given the chance to BETA read this book!

Sarah has done it again. Such a great book. I fell in love with Logan. An Old soul in a young man's body while trying to care for his family, yet follow his dreams. This story just pulls on your heart strings. Then there's Gina! ahhhhh GINA! That's all that I can say about her..LOL I was ooooo'ing and awwwww'ing through the whole story. The twists and turns, up and downs, and real emotions. The story just flows together and you really get a sense of WHO Logan is and how he feels.Very well written.

This is the Prequel to Sand & Clay, which I have not read yet. I can not wait to read Sand & Clay next.

I was very happy to be asked to be beta reader for this story. This was an amazing story and I love it so much. I love Logan Clay.
This story is about Logan Clay before he was a Rockstar. There was so much going on in this story and I did not want to put It down. It had so much emotion in it that I cried a lot. Logan Clay is an amazing man who worked to jobs to help his family pay bills. He would sing at clubs with his band and he would work another job early in the mornings. He hardly got any sleep but he did it for his family. Gina Vile is pretty amazing in this story. I didn't expect everything that happened in this novella to happen. This story explains a lot of what happened with Logan, his family and friends before he became famous. He worked very hard for what he got. He deserved his fame. It also explains why he didn't want to leave Gina in Sand & Clay. It helped me to understand Logan and Gina's relationship a lot. I have found my new favorite book. I really love me some Logan Clay he is so amazing.
Everyone should read this book especially if you love a book about Rockstars. Logan Clay is my new Rockstar Book Boyfriend. I love the song in this book it is awesome. I think it was one of my favorite things in the book. This book is a 5 star read for sure. Sarah Robinson is an amazing author and I love all of her books. She is one of those authors I will One Click without even reading about the book first. I really loved this book and I really love this author and I think everyone should read all of her books because she is amazing. Everything in this book was perfect. Which everything in all of her books are always perfect.

I read this book first in the Sand & Clay Forbidden Rockstar series. For some really I like reading the prequel first just so I can understand why a character is the way that they are. I am so so happy that I did because it gave a better understanding of Logan Clay and Gina Vile.

In this novella we get tons of information about Logan and his past and why he is where he is in Sand & Clay. I was able to connect with him better because he got to see who he was before his fame and recognition. He is loyal and has so much responsibility to his family. I also liked his friends that stuck with him during his hard times. His dad is pretty awesome as well as his mom, who both were so proud of their son. In this book you can feel the struggles that Logan is going through to provide for his family all the while trying make it so he can support his family better. I liked the chemistry between him and Gina in this novella BEFORE the fame and success got mixed in with their personal relationship.

This book is a must read in order to better connect and understand Logan in Sand & Clay...which I am going to review now!

wow another great read from Sarah Robinson, I was hooked from beginning to end.

Sarah is excellent at showing a wide range of emotions from her character and how they interact with each other.

Logan becomes the sole bread winner in his family after a horrible car accident. He works crazy hours in a warehouse so he can play with is friends in
a band. Will the boys get their big break - you will just have to read it to find out.

I have already brought Sand and Clay the next part of Logan's story and I eagerly look forward to reading it

This is a great prequel. I could relate to Logan. The choices he had to make for himself and his family are not always the easiest to make. I love the secondary characters in this book as well. They are very well written and you feel like you know them. I am really looking forward to reading the next in this series and seeing where the story takes these characters. Great novella! Very well written.

Through the eyes of a child, seeing his father tear up after learning that his mother could no longer use or feel her legs was devastating. He couldn't even imagine how his life would be growing up. But with the help of his ever patient father and circle of friends, Logan became the hardworking, passionate, adored man he is today.

Reading about his past and the events that unfolded before rising to his rockstar status was a good way of introducing Logan, the man of the hour. His fascination with music, his instant attraction to Gina, his decision whether to stay in a band with his so-called brothers or live his dream, it was all here.

I actually read this book 2 days before Christmas Day and I liked it. I liked how Logan started from scratch and made it through wise decisions. I don't like Gina, however.. I just don't like the vibes I get from her. Maybe it's just me.. I don't know... What I do know is, I am intrigued by Caroline Sanders and I can't wait to read Her Forbidden Rockstar!

I helped to beta read and edit this book, I loved it! It's even better than Sand & Clay which I read a long time ago. It explains Logan's decisions and really makes you like his character. The emotions are real and edgy, the situations are real, you can feel for each and every character. Definitely go get this book, a wonderful read!

Logan is the lead singer of a band offered a shot at getting a contract. The only problem is that the company wants only Logan. Gina is a girl Logan met at the bar, whose father just happens to be the guy that offers Logan a shot with his company. While in New York Logan confesses his love for Gina, but turns tail and runs back home when he finds out that Gina wasn’t exactly forthright in who she was when they met. Will Logan’s Story have a happy ending?
Logan is the epitome of a good guy. He’s a budding rock star, a good son, and head over heels in love with his girl, Gina. Gina, although not exactly truthful about herself in the beginning of the story turns out to have a genuinely good heart, and so in love with Logan that she becomes the saving grace for someone he loves. The two of them seem perfect for one another and destined for happiness, but with this only being the beginning of their story it may be a longer road to get there.
Sarah Robinson is a gifted writer. This story is filled with emotion and complexity. Both her cast of main characters and supporting characters (Dylan, Rock, mom, dad, etc.) are well written and weave such a story that several of them could even have a novel of their own. They are that interesting. Logan’s Story is the prequel for Sand and Clay, which is already available for purchase, so you don’t have to obsessively wait to find out if Logan and Gina’s relationship evolves or implodes. I’m off to start on it now.

I was extremely excited to beta read this for the author as I already LOVE her other books! I would recommend this to anybody who loves a good heartwarming story with a little emotions & romance. It is such a quick read I didn't realize how much I had read until I had to stop to check & realized I hadn't even read half of it yet! Lol This is a prequel to Sand & Clay which as soon as I'm done writing this review..... I'm off to start reading! I'm so excited to catch up & see what Logan does next! It gives you background on how Logan came to be a rockstar & what brought him to decide to split from his best friends to become a rock star on his own..... He also meets Gina..... But I absolutely HATE her.... I'm hoping he gets rid of her in the next book can you tell? You can take me instead Logan! This author does an AMAZING job writing out this story perfectly to keep you hanging on to see what happens next & will he decide to follow his dreams or not?

This story is full of emotions and loyalty. I fell in love with Logan Clay, he is a tough Irish Man with a very good heart. He has sacrificed a part of himself to be the financial support for his parents. Logan and his band play at small gigs at night and then he works the graveyard shift at a warehouse. Logan is totally dedicated. Music is Logan’s fuel. He feels through his music. He lives through his music. When he meets Gina Vile, she stirs up his feelings; feelings he hadn't felt in a very long time. When Logan is discovered by a Scout, he is ecstatic, but they want him alone and not his band mates. What will he do? Loyalties will be tested. Will he have a chance at fame? This story grasped me and tugged at my heart. I was pulled in and felt Logan’s struggle. I completely loved this story from beginning to end. The ending surprised me a bit, but I can totally see this happening.

Logan's story was His relationship from 2010 to current. Him making to the person he was meant to be. His mom and family getting the help they needed. This book as well was awesome it gave you romance love and Happiness. I wish I would of read it before i read the above book. Both stories were well written. And wrap you in to the story. I felt Logan was a very emotional man that Loved Deeply and put all himself into relationships 100%. No matter who he is with.
This is where Gina came in she there to recruit him. Her character to me was more deceptive. Something about her character never sat right with me. But she redeemed herself a little show she wasn't a totally selfish person. But I would of rather Read this book first then Sand & Clay Second. Both were great books.

This is a very enjoyable read. I am hoping that the " Clay and Sand" will tell me more about Logan and Gina's relationship, which kind of seemed like it went from love, to him being in her debt. Like she was lording the kidney she gave over him.......with that being said, I found Logan's Story to be a touching and emotional telling of his story. His family's devotion towards each other and the band taking away any guilt he felt is what makes it possible for him to follow his dream. He truly deserves something wonderful to happen in his life.

I received the ok in return for an honest review.

4.5 Stars!

I enjoyed reading this and learning more about Logan. I was captivated right from the start just as I have been with all of Sarah Robinson's books. I do wish I had read this one first because it would have given me a better understanding of Logan's character. However, I just couldn't wrap my head around his and Gina's relationship because of how she was in Sand & Clay.

I thought it was the perfect introduction to Sand and Clay! It gave insight into Logan's relationships with his parents and Gina. this book told you who Logan really was,and what drove him to go into the music business. The writer did a great job with this book! She did not skip between the present and the past. There was no confusion! It was a very straightforward intro to the next book,Sand &Clay. i will definitly be buying Sand&Clay to read the rest of Logan's story!

Logan's Story is a quick peek into his ride to fame and all that goes on in Sarah Robinson's twisted little mind. I was completely captivated by the entire thing. It's hard to remember it's just a prequel and not it's own damn story and I want more!!!

This novella starts off with learning about Logan Clay before he becomes a famous rock star. He is such a caring person and works two jobs to help his family pay the bills while his dad stays at home to care for his mother after her accident. He plays in a band with three of his closest friends in bars. He loves to play and sing music. He meets Gina, who he really connects with since he never really has time for a relationship, this is all new for him. A scout comes to hear his band play to see if he wants to sign them in a record deal but the deal the scout offers isn't what Logan was thinking for him and his band. Will he make the right decision for him or for his band. There is a lot of twists and things that take place in this book that it keeps you wanting to read to see what happens. Can't wait to read Sand and Clay next.

Awesome storyline!! I cannot wait to read the sequel. Sarah's writing style is great. Her character build up is perfect and does not go on and on where you forget where the story is heading. Perfect drama without the overkill..i like drama but sometimes authors go overboard and makes me gag and delete the story from my kindle. There are three things i do with books i read:

1. read it and like it and put in under the collection READ.
2. read it and love it and give the author their own collection so i can read more from them
3. read a chapter or two, say what is this crap and delete.

Sarah has her own collection on my kindle..I do not do this very often! Sarah is an amazing author!!

Logan's Story

The story of a struggling singer and guitarist and how he got his start.
Logan Clay is a true mommas boy with a high respect for his family and responsibilities. He works 3rd shift at a factory to help pay the families bills and pursues his dream with his band playing clubs for tips and to be recognized.
Logan's luck changes when he meets Gina and her father and is offered a recording contract. One drawback the contract is only for him not the rest of the band.
Logan has to decide what is best for himself and his family in order to achieve his dreams.
Great novella by Sarah Robinson. Looking forward to reading the next two books in "Sand and Clay Rocker Series!"

Wow just when I thought I could fall in love with Logan anymore bang comes along his side.

Sarah takes us through a brief look into Logan's childhood (I will admit had a little cry) to working 2 jobs whilst looking for that big break into the music business. We also get to see how he met Gina and how over the years she lives up to her surname Vile as that's exactly how I would describe her.

I won't say to much but I will say I will definitely be 're reading these books and I am definitely so happy for Logan as he's got everything he deserves :)

If you haven't read anything from this author before I can't recommend her enough
