Intermediate Reader for Girls and Boys aged 8-12 who love FUNNY stories.Diary of an Almost Cool Boy – Book 1
AJ thought starting at a new school would be his chance to finally become cool. New school, new friends, new beginning. What could possibly go wrong?
Pretty much everything.
From embarrassing first impressions and playground disasters to bullies, weird teachers, and one mistake that everyone sees, AJ quickly learns that fitting in is a lot harder than he imagined. With his little brother always around, trouble never far away, and his confidence taking hit after hit, AJ starts to wonder if being cool is even possible.
But sometimes the best way to stand out… is by being yourself.
Packed with laughs, cringe-worthy moments, school drama, and heart, Diary of an Almost Cool Boy is a funny and relatable adventure for kids who have ever felt awkward, out of place, or just almost cool.
Funny and full of giggles. Plenty of hidden depth within the kids story that even my 8 year old son, realised and was a good talking point for further discussion. X
This story was okay. It felt a bit like it was trying to be of the same caliber as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but fell short. The writing was average. Parts of the story were better than others, but all in all, it was pretty predictable, and nothing really stood out about the story. My grandson loves the Wimpy Kid books – I think I would recommend that he stick to those.
