Returning To You

Rate this book
Noah
I knew she was mine the moment I laid eyes on her.
Even at the tender age of fourteen.
Her dark green eyes captivated me and ensured she was all I could see.
She was the reason why I breathed,
But then I listened to someone else, someone I trusted.
I didn’t find out the facts and left without a word,
Too focused on my pain.
I thought she broke me; I thought she tore my heart out.
But I was wrong.
I broke her, destroyed the trust she had in me, in us.
I came home for her, to make her mine, but only to realize how much I had truly messed up.
She thinks I’ll give up.
She thinks I’ll walk away again.
But she’s wrong.
She’s the melody in my world, and it’s time she realizes,
I’m returning to her one way or another.

Rose
Ever thought you had it all, that nothing could stop you?
Friends, family, a love that consumes you.
I did until he left.
Without a word, he destroyed my whole world,
Leaving me to fend for myself when I needed him the most.
Music and women were all he cared about,
All while I struggled to get through school.
For two years, I tried to forget him and ignore his words on the radio.
I left my hometown adamant to succeed without the weight of my family’s last name.
But then suddenly, the same day I returned for my father,
I bump into him.
Some say it’s fate, while I believe it’s hell.
He wants me back; he wants us back.
But he wrecked what we could have had; he broke my trust.
I try and evade him at every turn but he’s relentless.
I don’t give in though.
I’m more stubborn than I ever used to be,
And forgiveness is something I don’t think I’m willing to hand out willingly.
Good luck trying to win me around, Noah,
Because I’m not one of your groupies.

When ever I see a 2nd chance trope have MCs who are celibate during separation, it's always going to be a hit for me.

This was a sweet story with likeable MCs but I did want to see H's sister get some pushback for the role she played. Otherwise, it was a good read.

100% ALL BECAUSE HE WAS CELIBATE DURING SEPARATION!!!!

Honestly this isn’t the best read. This author ✍️ is NOT the best. But I did enjoy some of it.

I just couldn’t get past the sheer stupidity of the H and the COMPETE LACK OF GROVEL
He doesn’t even apologize!!!!!! Not once does he say IM SORRY.

‼️I mean the h actions spoke louder than words that she wouldn’t ever betray him. So this made me so madto that the H could think that 3 WEEKS AFTER SHE GIVES HIM HER V that she would cheat!? What!? And the fact that she graduated early to be with him. Omg! His excuses were so flimsy.
-and ok maybe your immediate reaction can be bad but 2 years later still thinking the worst of her? Your just TO STUPID TO LIVE!

‼️Yes he feels bad and guilty but he asks her is she cheated and then the if she has been with anyone but doesn’t tell her till the VERY end that he to was celibate. And he was the one pictured w tons of OW in intimate poses.🤬

‼️ Also I ABSOLUTELY HATE when the h is insecure about him being w OW but instead of asking she sleeps with him thinking he has been w OW and wondering how he could move on from her like that when she couldn’t. But you sleep with him anyways and accept that? No way. Get answers first! Huge pet peeve

‼️Another huge issue for me was the fact that the H had to literally be forced to finally talk to the h 2 years later. He legit refused. He had EVERYONE telling him to talk to her and he just wouldn’t. Until forced!

‼️Then he says he never really believed she cheated he was just scared about how intense his feelings were??? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 so then he was never gonna go back with her? Ever? I mean this guy was pushing douche mode of no return at one point for me.

‼️Then we have the fact that he WAS actually trying to move on from her. He was dating and forcing himself to try w OW. Now he didn’t do anything with them and couldn’t stand them touching him. But he wanted to get there. So if he never thought she cheated then why you trying to move on Bro!? This bothered me. Cause there is intent.

🤬Then her family and their reactions were so fucking OTT and unforgivable that I wish she hadn’t let them all back in.

🤬His sister!? That bitch did not need to be forgiven and shouldn’t have been.

‼️But ultimately I still blame the H. He choose to ghost the love of his life and try to move on. He believed the worst in her and thought she had a baby w OM. And never once apologized. And honestly I felt like he kept sing excuses for his actions at times.

🤬So I was mad for a lot of this book.

THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THIS A DECENT RATING IS CAUSE THEY WERE EACH OTHER ONE AND ONLY.
He didn’t even kiss OW. But why he didn’t tell her earlier when he demanded her to tell him she wasn’t w OM is beyond me!

‼️Also I felt the need to give this author props for her safe book cause apparently she is huge on douche bag cheating H and the h that forgive them. Like bad bad cheating irredeemable men.

♥️Both celibate -they were each others one and only.

H is seen w OW w his arms around them, whispering to them, and one is licking his neck. OW pays OW to kiss him in front of h but he pushes her away immediately.

h is completely celibate and doesn’t date or anything.

Very good and very recommended!
This has the angst, delicious angst of the big misunderstanding and perceived cheating.
The hero sees a picture of the heroine hugging a man who’s kissing her cheek and thinks she is cheating on him, so he leaves.
She’s 17 and pregnant, and her father throws her out because she refuses to terminate the child, since her family has a history of preeclampsia where her mother died.
So she’s 17, pregnant and alone, and penniless.
She moves in another town and manages to give birth to her son and to go to college having two jobs.
The dad comes back groveling because he was sorry and the hero, after two years, finds out the truth.
A lot of angst, a lot of misunderstandings and a lot of groveling by the hero that, in those two years, became a big rockstar and made big money, but always was unhappy and sad.
The heroine does not immediately give in, she makes him wait, and she’s also very cold towards her so called friends and relative who reneged her.
I liked her, she was young and alone but very strong and never lost her smile and good heart. I think she was a lot better than the hero.
The hero, well, I think he was very insecure because he came from the wrong side of the town, he was poor and his mother was an alcoholic, but he loved her and was always thinking of her, writing songs for her and basically hurting because he though she had another man. His sister lied to him and even told him she had a child with another man, and all because she wanted his money.
He really fought for her, and never stopped loving her.
Oh, and the best part. They were each other one and only. And both were celibate and were not with anyone else. Not even kissing.
Yes, a celibate hero and a very angsty book IS a possibility!
Kudos for the author that managed to write a very good romance with an epic love showing that it’s possible to be show fidelity even when there are big issues and misunderstandings.
I loved this book, I’ll surely reread it and I hope the author will write other similar books where the characters both show with their actions that they love each other completely and truly.

Unfortunately not my thing. The whole break up was ridiculous. Who walks away from someone over a picture? It was innocent at that. So the plot was weak unfortunately. The h was ok. Probably the best character in the book out of everyone. There was ow shenanigans which for the most part is why I read this author's books. Book is probably CM's safest as the MMCs are both celibate during separation. They were each other's firsts and lasts. The logistics of traveling make no sense. They were basically flying between towns everyday on their private planes because everyone has one in this story 🙃. Overall it was just ok. I still prefer this author's MC OTT books.

I saw an improvement with the writing but the 'conflict' was ridiculous. He saw a photo of her hugging a guy and he instantly thought she cheated and then he realized that she didn't cheat but he thought that they wouldn't have lasted in a relationship.

Her brother wish her dead because he also thought the same (🫤) and every time someone tried to tell him something about her he hang up the phone 🤣 two years his parents tried to 'have an intervention ' without any luck.
So yeah, childish and ridiculous. The writing got better but I had to take 2stars for the plot

★★★★. The best part was him being celibate and being a complete loser during the break. He was an idiot for believing a girl who he hated from a picture…and to add on ignoring your mother because she tried telling you the truth. He got some points for the groveling and the utter despair he had for most of the book. I felt more bad for her. She lost everyone at the same time because of a photo and that was so sad. I don’t mind that she forgave her brother and father. What bothered me was her forgiving his sister when she played a part in ruining them.

This author is my go-to when I’m in the mood for a soapy tropey ride on the HotMess Express. They’re usually unrealistic, OTT, and loaded with drama-llama supplied by a meddling wannabe OW.

This one was just ok for me. It should’ve been AMAZING with THREE OW causing issues, but they didn’t get a ton of page time, so there were large chunks rehashing the same shit.

I don’t want to take a ton of time on this, there’re several reviews already out here, and I’m way behind. A lot of reviewers couldn’t get over the illogical reasoning for the breakup. It was really dumb, but I’ve read a ton of HP’s and have seen many Harlequin ladies not to mention the last book I read by this author had that h surviving being flipped in a car repeatedly then thrown from the Brooklyn Bridge, so I went with it.

Actually, what bugged the absolute crap out of me was how Rose treated Gina after EVERYTHING she had done.

Bottom Line- Just ok for me. Gina and Piper needed more page time to spice up all the repetitive bits where we were spinning our wheels. Gina needed comeuppance not a rewrite, and it felt like a copout trying to make the SIL the bad guy after spending the entire book vilifying Gina.

Safety-

Maybe a 3.5. I am a little undecided. I really liked the story. Yes, I really liked that they were celibate while apart. I loved the love they had for each other still at such a young age. I loved it when they got back together, and the story hooked me from beginning to end while making me mad, sad, happy, annoyed, and angsty, which is what you want in a book. I also read it super-fast because I could not put it down.

The timeline is all over, and I find that highly annoying. No one has been pregnant for 13 months. She had the baby right before her 18th birthday and she’s 20/he’s turning 21 when he comes back so the baby would almost be two years old, not just under a year (and is barely able to crawl?) There are also weird misspellings like her back hurts after a shit (shift). I’ve also never met anyone going into freshman year of high school at 13 but she graduates a year early at 17, so she was in high school 4 years but graduated a year early, so in 3 years she aged 4 years? They are also apart 2 years but both aged 3 years. Things like that are super frustrating to me.

Okay, Rose and Noah meet on the first day of school. In a slightly different twist, she’s a rich girl whose Daddy almost never buys his kids anything because he wants them to grow up to work hard and not be spoiled. But it's more like borderline neglect. Her mother passed away but was from the “wrong side” of the tracks, and by that, the author means a trailer park and wanted her kids to be strong people. She’s quiet and nerdy (although beautiful), so she is bullied a lot by scholarship girls (ones the OW) from the trailer park. Yeah.. they go to a private school where the rich kids are bullied. Her older brother, his friends, his girlfriend, and now Noah (the brother’s girlfriends’ cousin) and his friends all watch out for her at school.

Noah has a rich aunt who pays for his and his sister’s private school, but he’s from the trailer park with a alcoholic mother and a really kind stepfather. His little sister and him are extremely close until she starts high school when she becomes a crazy psycho mean girl and friends with the OW- also a psycho mean girl obsessed with Noah.

Noah and Rose fall in love fast in typical teenage fashion. She is 13, and he is 14. They do everything together. Walk together, walk home, study after school, are in all the same classes, she watches his band play, etc. They are together four years. They are each other’s first on prom night (yes, they waited), and Noah asks her dad’s permission to marry her. Noah also has her initial R tattoed on him in the shape of a music note and her name written down the side of his ring finger. Rose surprises Noah on graduation night (to which he thinks she didn’t show up) and turns out to be the valedictorian of HIS class and is graduating a year early in order to be with him.

In a turn of spectacular soap opera dramatics, on graduation day, Rose goes to pick up a gift for Noah, his dream motorcycle she has saved up for 4 years to buy. Noah also gets a call from a record company wanting to sign his band, but he has to get to LA. He goes to pack up then go to Rose when the the OW (Piper who is also Rose’s bully) and his little sister, Gina tell him Rose has been cheating on him with a older man. He doesn’t believe them until they show him a photo of Rose HUGGING an older man. HUGGING PEOPLE. (Turns out it's the man she bought the motorcycle from - who hugged her because she paid him more to help with his disabled daughters surgery).

Noah immediately storms out of the house, hops on a bus to LA, and blocks Rose. He tells his best friends to block her. Rose, meanwhile, has fainted at her house and is taken to the hospital by her dad, where she finds out she’s pregnant. Her dad, in all fury and righteousness, tells her that if she does not get an abortion, she’s going to be homeless and disowned. (Her mom died from Preeclampsia, so later it's chalked up to grief/fear.) She chooses the baby.

She rides the motorcycle over to Noah’s with a duffel bag of clothes, and his mom greets her at the door, telling her he left and thinks she cheated on him. Rose is heartbroken and tells his mom the truth (she didn’t cheat), and she’s pregnant. They BOTH try to get a hold of Noah repeatedly. (This isn't a secret baby trope- Rose literally tries to tell Noah, his best friends, his road manager, and his mom tries to tell him she's pregnant multiple, multiple times). Rose hops on her bike and flees town. She ends up a few hours away at the first place that is hiring a pregnant teenager.

A week later, her brother tries to find out where she is and meets her at a café halfway between their hometown and where she ran away. When she shows up, her “super protective” older brother and his girlfriend (who adored her) both call her a lying whore, tell her she’s dead to them and the girlfriend slaps Rose across the face. She flees again. We find out they get married without her and ban her from another friends funeral years later.

Time hop. One year later, Noah is a superstar. An alcoholic mega rock star. He still misses Rose, but he hates her. He wants her, but he can’t bring himself to even hear her name. If anyone, including his own mother, tries to say anything about her, he spirals or hangs up or walks out of the room. His little sister Gina calls him to tell him she “just saw” Rose a few hours away pregnant with another man’s baby. He believes her and spirals again. We also learn he drank so much that he almost died about 5 months after he left. It's reiterated that he's super rich, famous and writes almost all the band’s songs which about A. Either loving Rose or B. What a lying cheating woman she is.

Time hop. Two years later, Rose is a single mom working two jobs with an infant and trying to do online schooling part-time towards a degree she hates but will be stable for her baby. She has no family. No friends, but for one waitress and a guy that she works with, that hits on her all the time. She lives in a shitty apartment with a mattress on the floor and the same clothes she wore two years ago in high school. While poor, she devotes herself to her son, and all her paychecks go towards him, school or bills. She’s a great mother.

Her dad regretting tossing his daughter out has hired a PI to find her and is trying to be in his grandson’s life. He feels guilty he basically told her to abort the kid or else. She’s back in her hometown visiting for the first time since she left, and Noah is home during a brief tour break. He sees her, and she walks right by him. He gets angry at her (for being a cheating liar) and follows her while she flees back home. He, of course, sees the baby and thinks it’s someone else’s then realizes it’s his baby and he’s missed everything. She doesn’t even have a car, she rides the motorcycle SHE bought him then when she has the baby, she walks the bike home with the baby strapped on it. (Oh, he lashes out and accuses her of it being her boyfriends bike).

Now here’s where it gets hard for me. I keep reading reviews that say once everyone realizes what a colossal fuck up the last two years are, everyone grovels. They lose me there. They apologize, yes. But grovel?

Noah - what grovel? He essentially shows up and never really leaves her again. He *almost* acts like the last two years never happened and is determined to marry her and be with her forever like they always planned. We SEE his guilt. We FEEL his guilt, but there is no major grovel. Just him being there every day, picking up his son, and being a great father. They eventually sleep together again, so it’s lots of just showing her he loves her and always has. He has a TON of new rose tattoos all over his body, so clearly, he was obsessed with her while they were apart, which is cute and heartbreaking. We also learn he never slept with anyone else (but you don't learn that till almost the end), and any women in magazines/gossip rags were the label doing promotional stunts. He did touch other women but like draped his arm on them, hugged them, put his hand around their waist, one licked his neck (OW), and one kissed him without permission. Nothing sexual even if it looked that way for years. He also bought the house they always wanted but not FOR her. It was when they weren't even together, and he let his nasty mean sister and OW in the house, so it's tainted anyway.

Her brother, her father, and her brother’s girlfriend? Again, not really. Her dad just shows up one day and essentially will not leave her alone. If anything, they all bully their way back into her life even when she tells them to respect her boundaries or she walks away. Like she tells her dad not to invite her brother over, so he does. She tells him not to tell Noah where she lives. He does. Her brother apologizes a lot, but at the end of the day, she really lets them back into her life so her son has his grandfather and uncle.

The ONLY one who gets comeuppance is the brother’s girlfriend/wife but it’s more because we find out she was a cheating whore bag so the brother dumps her and divorces her.

Any of their friends? At the risk of repeating myself, they FEEL remorseful and guilty but mostly they just joke, laugh, hug her and tease her like the last few years never happened and aside from a few snarky remarks she just lets them. (Don't get me wrong the side characters were fun and very sweet to the baby).

His little sister? Who lied about her cheating, lied about her being pregnant with another man’s baby, who sent Rose photos of the OW in Noah’s bed naked (he was passed out drunk/clothed), then pays another woman to kiss Noah in front of Rose and generally caused chaos for YEARS? One day she just up and realizes she was lied to for the last 6 years by the other woman and they’re all happy with each other after that. The fuck?!

As you guessed it, Noah and Rose in the epilogue are blissfully happy together. In 10 years, they’ve had something like 5 kids, he’s still a famous rock-star, his first son plays drums like an adult and Rose has her dream job but also tours with Noah and raises 5 kids.

To reiterate, NOT A BAD BOOK. I liked it. It kept me hooked. I liked that both people could not bring themselves to sleep with other people even if it was tempting (mostly Noah). I liked that Noah shut down the OW hard each time but maybe not hard enough. This OW was in his life all throughout high school then followed the band on tour, then became part of their management team and it’s like why? Simply for the sake of drama? Seems like a restraining order would have been necessary in the real world.

Their ages made it more believable because Noah was highly immature for leaving the way he does. But it also makes you think what happens when more hurdles get thrown their way? 🤔 Noah, at the end, says he never *really* believed Rose cheated on him he just wanted to believe that because he wasn’t good enough for which is also like reallllly!? So the love of your life for 4 years wasn’t worth a single conversation, but you could become a world wide known rockstar with millions of dollars based on songs all about her?

Even for fictional characters, though, I believed Rose and Noah were soulmates, and that’s why I rated it like I did. It's an addicting read.

This was super cheesy and tropey, (but no amnesia, ha ha), and a drama lama soap opera.
But I found myself speed reading it. Still I enjoyed it but wasn't invested in the characters.
I think I read this in 2 hours, like a fun cheesy and sometimes stupid movie ; )

Noah and Rose meet and it's insta love at ages 14 and 13.
There's an evil wannabe OW, Piper who is a one dimensional bugaboo and of course instigates the breakup with flimsy lies. Pretty darn predictable. She's aided and abetted by Noah's little sister.
Honestly, the excuses for believing the lies and the little sister's excuses for being friends with a mean spirited loser, were so incredibly LAME.
And there's also a side story with Rose's older brother and his girlfriend/wife.
There's the father who kicks her out because she's pregnant and won't abort the child. She's 17 at this point. The reasons behind that were pretty hard to believe too.

Anyways, Noah kicks her to the curb after his graduation and immediately becomes a huge rock star with his two friends. The two friends who were also her friends, dropped her as well. Of course she's pregnant and can't get hold of Noah to tell him. She tries his friends and family and the band's manager. The band's manager who knows that every single hit is about Noah's love and heartbreak about his high school love. But he somehow doesn't know her name?
She finds refuge in another town and has their baby. Ironically, the only ones from her old life who believe her and support her are Noah's mother and step father.
After a couple years (btw, I was glad it wasn't the usual lost decade), Noah is finally convinced to go check on her. He firmly believes at this point that she is living with the guy who knocked her up. I have no idea how he comes to this conclusion.

He doesn't really grovel but he feels remorseful. I guess I was underwhelmed with his grovel, or lack there of. It was one of those grovels where he makes sad faces and 'explains himself and his reasons' (note the use of quotations!). Like, I treated you like absolute shite ...'because'. *place stupid half-assed psychology here*. Then he he spends the rest of the book whining that she hasn't forgiven him yet. -sigh-
What makes it work at all, is that she doesn't forgive him easily. I was hoping for some delicious set-downs or come-to-jesus speeches from Rose, but she's never that articulate.

Then the story moves on to the her brother and his sister and comeuppance for the OW.
Silly unbelievable stuff. But also kinda cheesy fun in a fast forward kind of way.
And I felt like the book went on and on.
And all these people are 20 to 22 years old.

So it was kinda fun but not great. Like an overly watery martini.

I’m at the 63% point and I’m just disgusted at the easy way which the FMC is letting the MMC back into her life. I mean the man ran away over nothing and because of BBS and a baby it’s basically okay for him to be forgiven.

I LOVE this author’s work but this plot is ridiculous. If I give birth alone to your child because you believed a pathetically weak lie then I don’t EVER want you back. EVER! It’s really just that simple. Now for the books sake, if the FMC is written as being forgiving, then it should still take YEARS for that to actually happen. Since they were apart for two years then the author should have it be four years of hard work, consistency and persistence by the MMC to prove himself, before he is allowed back with the FMC. Like seriously, some effort needs to be shown! Ugh

So far it’s rolling fast to an easy HEA. I’m disappointed. I wanted more strength and vocalization of their errors by the FMC than what is on page. Because it was more than the MMC who betrayed the FMC. As it stands it’s a pretty lame redemption from all the characters in this book.

FINAL UPDATE

Honestly, this book will not make my reread list. Just too many holes in the plot for my liking. Like the weak reason for the perceived betrayal. Like the FMC’s father financially abusing his kids, like he is teaching them lessons. He only teaches them he can’t be relied on. Like the ridiculous amount of forgiveness the FMC showed to all the side characters that betrayed her. Like the MMC’s mother and sister changing personalities throughout the book like it’s that easy. Like not one ounce of therapy taking place anywhere in the book to help make any redemption or growth more valid and believable. Just so much that was not really resolved for me, even though it was in the book. I just wasn’t satisfied with what was on page.

Anyway, it did hold my attention, as all of this author’s books do. I think it’s her writing style but also she puts enough OTT nonsense into her stories that they are highly entertaining for me. That and that the characters are always likable. So other then my own personal reasons for dissatisfaction with the plot, the book needed a lot more editing. So much sloppy writing left me constantly trying to decipher what the sentence structure was supposed to say. Along with several points of continuity issues.

So, while I was entertained by the book, it had too many issues to actually like it. Good luck. I’m looking forward to more books by this author no matter the failings of this book.

2.5-3 Super Soaptastic ⭐️.

This book has a l’il bit of everything in it! An evil OW, an evil OW-in-training, family drama galore, perceived cheating, a surprise baby, some high school bullying, a rockstar, an ultimatum involving an abortion, wholesale familial shunning, rejection with a pretty silly foundation, and groveling-ish. Oh, and lots of “smirking”, “snorting”, and “/“sighing”.

I finished the book, so obviously I kept turning the pages, but I think a reader has to be in the mood for some high school drama that persists long after graduation. Some OTT soapy drama with pretty disconnected pieces. A lot of gaps are filled by telling rather than showing the action.

I think the bones are decent. The execution is soapy and filled with drama llama.

This book made little to no sense. The H claims to “love the h” but leaves her without a goodbye. At least break up with her. Nope. He goes on his “tour” while she’s pregnant and disowned by her family. Fast forward, 2 years and he’s back to their hometown where he runs into the h. She ignores him, but once he finds out her baby is his, all bets are off and they get back together fairly quickly.

It just isn’t for me.

Oh, I love this book!

This is quite different in tone and treatment from the author's "Bound" Series that I just finished.
Those mmcs are smug a-holes, especially that louse Alex.
This mmc remains celibate!
Against some serious odds.
They are each other's FIRST and ONLY!
Loved it!

A thing I like about this author (in this and other books) is that, though her hs seem to forgive easily (despite swearing not to do so), they always completely lay it out, letting everyone who hurt them know why and how they felt betrayed/hurt.
So, no unresolved issues.

3.5 ⭐️

- no cheating
- 2nd chance
- lots and lots of drama; a lot of stupid characters around this couple
- such a weak MMC; yes, he was young.. but also so so stupid, use your brain mate
- it was angsty, though, and the drama OTT
- but the first place for the weakest character goes to ... it's a tie between the MMC and her brother... I just can't decide who made the worst decisions ... men 🤨

Mean girls

He thought she cheated and an off for two years he says he has never kissed or touched another woman but he did try to date but no-one made him feel anything. Very juvenile story but I read it and props for writing it to the author. Just a little to young for me. They were both celibate but there was a lot of ow drama because of his sister and her best friend. She was too gross for words. The heroine put up with a lot because everyone thought she cheated. The little boys is a cutie. All good with 10 year later epilogue with more kids!

Meh
I’m a bit of a stickler for facts and there are a few things in this book that don’t line up and it irritates me

Enjoyed regardless of sill mistakes

This book has separation due to misunderstanding a picture. However I think Noah shouldn't have feel for especially with who brought it to his attention. You can tell his insecurities ruled his decisions.

I'm glad that Piper got what was coming to her. Rose having a big heart was able to forgive everyone else.

Best laughable mistake was:

"He knows my back hurts after a long sh!t". Omg you have to laugh the word was suppose to be shift.

Noah had the girl of his dreams Rose and was planning their future, when trusted the one person he thought would never steer him wrong. He walked away from Rose and has regretted it ever since. Rose leaves destroyed and only returns when her father needs her. She doesn't expect Noah to step back into her life or that he wants another chance, would she be a fool to trust him again?

There are layers to this story, I thought it was definitely an emotional one. This is quickly becoming one of my go to authors her books always grab my attention. One thing in this story bothered me about what tore the apart, I am not sure I would be so forgiving. Great chemistry between the Noah and Rose.

They are very young.
The split is basically people trying to split them up by showing pictures saying the heroine is cheating.
He believes it and goes off to start his career, cutting her off.
In the time apart neither are with anyone else despite rumours and the media.
They are only ever with each other, despite him being older than her.
She is pregnant when he flees.
HEA.
Epilogue 10 years on.

The book deals with them in high school then later and he has his 21st birthday coming up. Why does the cover depict aman way older?

This was kind of ridiculous but I loved it. 😭🫶
I also loved how both MCS were separated for 2 years and were BOTH CELIBATE. Especially the H, we love to see a loyal MMC. He was a rockstar who could've been a typical manwhore, but stayed true to the FMC even though he thought she betrayed him. (It was a ridiculous misunderstanding) But yh this was so entertaining so I loved it. 💖💓

There were only 2 things i liked about this book:
1. The fact that he remained a celibate loser during the most ridiculous separation of all time.
2. When it was over.

My 2nd star is me being generous because it's Friday and I'm in a good mood!

DNF 70%.
Hated every single one of those stupid characters.
Dialogues were cringe worthy.
Writing style? awful.
Yes, he was celibate, so what? what he did was unforgivable.
waste of a evening.

This author’s books have somehow worked their way into becoming a guilty pleasure of mine. I don’t even know when it happened, it came out of nowhere.

Charlotte is phenomenal when it comes to writing angst and heartbreak and my masochistic self just eats it up.

This story is about Rose and Noah. They fall in love at the age of 13 and stay together all throughout Highschool.

Rose is a girl that comes from a rich family but her dad refuses to ever buy her more than basic essentials because he wants her to be strong and independent.

Noah is a bad boy rockstar from the wrong side of the tracks.

Everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) falls apart on graduation night. Tons of angst and heartbreak.

Then two years pass and we get a lot of groveling… from everyone.

A lot of this author’s stories follow a highly unbelievable plot that we know would never actually happen in real life but it sucks you in nonetheless.

I recommend new readers to give this author a chance because her stories really do suck you in and with each new book you can tell her writing is improving.

One typo that has just tickled me to no end is when Rose says “my back always hurts after a shit.” When she means SHIFT. I cackled, but typos don’t ever deter me from a story… I just had to mention that.

Overall my rating is 3/5 stars because of basic plot holes and the need to suspend belief.

The spice is maybe a 2/5.

22% in and this is a 1 star. The teens act like 22 year olds. The plot is based on the MMC thinking the FMC cheated on him bc of a photo his evil sister (whom he knew was a bitch) showed him, without even checking with the FMC. And they both were a solid couple. So utterly stupid. I’m going to continue reading it because I want to see him grovel.

Also the FMC’s dad is an idiot.

—-

Finished reading it. There was some redeeming stuff the MMC Noah did by remaining true to the FMC. But so many stupid problems as part of the plot just for the sake of drama. Also a noticeable number of grammar and spelling issues.

Disappointing overall.
