THE SECOND PART OF A TWO-PART SERIES. THE LONELY POLE - A TWO PART MEGA NOVEL BY TAKERRA ALLEN!
We’ve all got dreams… How far are you willing to go for yours?
Baby, Nyema, Portia, and Rocsi couldn’t have any less in common than what meets the eye.
But under dire circumstances and through different walks of life, they all end up in the same place.
Dreamz, a seedy strip joint in the backstreets of Dirty Jerz, conceals some of the darkest secrets and holds captive the souls of many pretty girls lost.
In a day and age where the strip life is glamourized and celebrated, take a walk with four women who will tell the tale a bit differently.
Lost loves, broken hearts, dreams deferred, all in the name of the almighty dollar and it’s only a pop, twerk, and grind away.
But how far is too far, and when do you know you’ve gotten there? And even more important, how can you find your way back?
At the sad realization that the pole has no mercy, these women must come to grips with their reality.
The pole is cold, the pole is greedy, the pole is wicked, the pole is deceiving, the pole… is lonely.

3.75 - the storyline was good; it had a lot of potential. There was so much going on at the end, that it felt rushed for me. It's cool to see TA's growth as a writer. If I rated the men in TA Land - Trip Fontane is realllllyyyy close to the bottom for me lol
Wowwww! The finale to this series was even better than part 1. Each female came with another story that wowed me and I didn’t think they would leave me speechless but they did. I love Trip and Baby so much but my God they had me on my toes. Nyema blew my mind the most I was so disappointed in here. Portia finally did some growing up and I’m happy she got someone to tell her about herself. Rocsi was my least fav but I’m happy she got herself together. This book showed the power of a man can either make or break you. I loved everything about this book definitely would recommend.
When you discovered an author so talented you want to read their entire library.
Takerra Allen has got it right when you read stree-lit there should be a lesson learned, the people should come to the conclusion that time time can not be a long term goal and the women though not perfect should show depth and character. We should understand how they got to the place where the made the decision to do what they are doing, even though most people would think they are making the wrong decision. Baby's story does all of that, I understood why she chose to strip , I understood how she fell for the trap of the easy money. I understood how she went to her low point which pissed me off, but I understood. What I like most is that she did not stay down , she grew up. The two books in this series have all of the things you would expect from street-lit a sexy man Trap for Baby and Haz for Portia, . The is crime and revenge yes there is but this book is also about friendship and love . This book is good and I could not put it down until I read both books in the series.
I honestly had my doubts that this story would have any type of favorable outcome. Whew I'm so glad Takerra Allen does what she does. This was a wild ride that kept my blood pressure up. I'm so glad I took the tune to read this. I'm not sure why I waited so long. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This series was a very deep one and a very relatable story of women with dreams that can be blinded by the lights on some of the roads traveled to reach them!!!… Sheek was the devil and his screams were music to my ears!!!…The audacity of him to think e was in a position to take what wasn’t offered to him or freely given to him!!!… I was upset that Loc was not dealt with because he wa definitely playing both sides of that coin with Trip and Sheek!!!… Baby was such a lost soul and her journey was one that has made her stronger and taught her acceptance!!!…She was wise beyond her years and blessed beyond measures because she had a friend that loved her enough to tell her where she was and what she needed!!!..I was sooo proud of her!!!… Portia was definitely humbled by we better and I loved every minute of that conversation after she finally acknowledged that something may have happened to Baby in that VIP room!!!…I was also happy that Has returned and they were able to work their relationship out!!!… Trip and his emotions had me confused, smiling and screaming at the same time!!!…A man on a mission and he made sure that helped 2 ppl by getting rid of one person!!!…I knew he was going to go back for Baby and I love the fire she brought to their union!!!…She opened his eyes to the way ppl can judge others for their choice when theirs is no different!!!… Self discovery and peace is what Rocsi needed and exactly what she got!!…Sheek groomed her and broke her down and controlled her by threatening her!!…I was so happy for her!!!… Nyema wanted love so bad and she ignored all the red flags and that led to her freedom being taken!!!…I’m sure just a Nyema learned a lesson, so did Bay, because he was the flame that started the fire!!!…
The ladies of Dreamz are back! Things are finally starting to turn around for Nyema, but one bad decision and a crime of passion changes all of that...in the twinkling of an eye.
Portia is moving on, after grieving the loss of her husband. Finally, she has found someone who proves to that love is beautiful the second time around, until...the secret she’s been keeping has hit the gossip blogs.
Rocsi is tired of being number 2 to a man that uses her as a human punching bag. A chance acquaintance helps her to see that she deserves so much more.
Working at Dreamz has hardened Baby, and she’s fighting for Trip to commit to her. A series of events has led her down a road that no one saw coming, but somehow ends up giving her a beautiful outcome.
This book was a bit of a struggle for me, because the dark moments pulled me in. Once again, I applaud @bytakerraallen for tackling a lifestyle that many gossip about, but actually know very little. I recommend this series to all open-minded readers.
I'm on an emotional rollercoaster...but I don't wanna get off!!! In my Vivian Green voice. This book had me screaming, crying, mad and thinking. Baby, Ny, Portia and Rocsi all went through so much but in life we all have curve balls thrown our way. Im so happy they had happy ending. Im going to miss my book husband's Trip and Haz. I hate to see this story end 😭 Great job Takerra!!!!
Bravo, this is was a really good book. The plot was good, the character development was awesome, and the descriptions were on point. This book was everything I asked for and more. Good job Ms Tekerra Allen!
This was an amazing story of how life sometimes throws you into who you never thought you'd be. So many people look down on strippers and how low degrading they seem to be. That pole brings out an addiction that most never knew they had. I have always said even the person with the biggest self esteem could be found on that lonely pole. The next time you go to a strip club or if you ever go, you just might be staring at the next first lady of the white house, an attorney, Dr or professional athlete in the making. Money or like there of seems to be very common in this story and in real life. I've never entertained being a stripper but I truly admire the hustle And if my body looked like some of there's naturally that's taking home money like that WHO knows. Very good read, with an incredible storyline and characters.
I enjoyed the continuing saga of Baby and the other exotic dancers. The title captures the essence of the book. While on display for a room full of people they feel lonely as the swing on the pole. There were things that happened in the book that were predictable. There were also things that I didn't really see coming. I did not care for all the song lyrics. I understand that music goes hand in hand with dancing. I feel like the story was wrapped up in a way that there was not anything left for you to worry about. There were no loose ends. I was ultimately happy about the way the story ended. I even got choked up a little
Part 2 definitely took you on a rollercoaster ride There was twists and turns you did not see coming that kept you turning the pages All the ladies did have dreams and while the pole was a means to an end Some endings were unexpected But there were lessons to be learned through out the story Trip and Baby find their truth by the end as do the other ladies Takerra wrote this story so we could feel their pain, anguish, happiness, and love She did an excellent job with both parts and you will not be disappointed We should try not to judge what people do for a living because we never know what lead them to it Great job Will be reading more of your catalog
Reviewing both books in one because they don’t really separate and 2 couldn’t be read in isolation.
It’s a good story following four girls and their reasons for working in a strip club. It’s a good read but also depressing, every time someone’s happy you’re just waiting for things to fall apart. I was on edge through both books waiting for the inevitable from Sheek that made the two books a difficult read.
A round about HAE.
The layout of the writing is hard to get used. With no separation the timeline jumps and left me confused for a few sentences every so often trying to figure out what changed.
Wonderful wonderful job by Takerra. I’m late to read this but it was right on time. So many lessons to be learned in this series. Lots of humbling experiences and lies exposed. I felt bad for Nyeema because I saw it coming. It’s only so much we can take. Baby broke me down too. This book has me feeling like I need therapy. I was really happy with the entire book. I will definitely be investing in all of her work.
omggg i’m so glad I decided to read part 2 right after, it definitely was better than part 1. this was my first novel by this author and I plan to read more. giiirl, this story was such a rollercoaster, had me going through so many emotions!!! I could have kept reading though, I would have loved for the story to continue going with their positive lifestyles and I needed to know more with Baby and Trip…i’m feining 🫢😂
This book was so good! I said earlier that even though this author was really good, she must not believe in happy endings. But I got one in this book!...and it was needed. This is one of the best authors I’ve read from. Picked up one book to try and I’ve been reading every book on Kindle Unlimited all week. Very good author. Great, captivating stories each and every one of them 😊
Things got way deeper in this second installment. Baby was fighting so many internal battles. Trip is fighting himself on his love for Baby. This book makes you take a look at the darker side of what so many people glamorize. The toll it takes on these girls and how easy it is to lose yourself in that world. It was an amazing read. Very emotional
The journey that Baby was on turned sour all of a sudden. I thought she would hit some bumps but not as big as the bump she ran into. At least she had a good friend that saw fit to help. Porshe finally came down off her high horse. I was so happy to see Rocsi taking steps in the right direction but Nyema! She was heartbroken so I ain't judging her. I loved this series & this ending.
The wrap up to this two part book series showcased dreams shattered, delayed and rebirthed. And although everyone didn't get an HEA, they're all definitely on the path to something better. Dreamz was just a detour and the pole a means of finding their way. For Baby, Nyema, Portia and Rocsi it's only up from here!
This was a great sequel. I was so into this book I couldn't finish my work. I was so shocked at the turn of events but was so glad things turned out great for some anyway. This was a amazing series, strongly recommend.
I really didn't want this to end at all . I wanted to read about some lil trips running around and all. But overall this book was bomb . 10 STARS and I'm so happy everyone got away from DREAMZ !
Baby, baby, baby poor thing. Oh how my heart ached for her in this book. she lost her way as so mAny of us women do. Allowing things that are so mundane to distract us from reaching our goals and finding out who we are as women. Trip well I love him but there were times I wanted to punch him for his he handled Baby. Glad for the ending and another well painted picture with words.
An interesting perspective on the way decisions are made to accomplish dreams and the circumstances that push people to those decisions. The characters are so complexed and the way Takerra Allen tells their story made me root for them. Part 1 & 2 are must reads!
Wow these 4 ladies was all battling their own demons some came out on top while some didn’t . I hate Nyema outcome wish she would’ve put more focus on herself and kids . So sad what happen to Baby but I’m glad she got a happy ending and the rest of the girls
Trip pissed me off. He was a darn thief and had the nerve to judge Baby. Sheep aka Sheek got some real deserved torture. Baby, Rocsi , and Portia prevailed. Read This Book. You’ll thank me later.
Things most definitely got worse for the ladies in this book before they got better. My heart just broke for Nyema. Bay’s one nasty piece of work. Trip isn’t much better either. The way he did Baby after Sheeks revelation was disgusting.
Exceeded my expectations!!! I want to read every Takerra Allen book after reading this series. I love how she developed the characters, the details she gave I really felt connected to them. *Chef's kiss*
I really enjoyed this series they had a love that was so strong. There were some things that I totally didn’t expect to happen but it work out for the best.
This book kept me enthralled. The authors style of writing was so intriguing and it was not hard to keep my attention. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
