✨the good ✨
Just when I thought those Donnelly brothers couldn’t get any better, here comes Beckett with his knack for numbers and dirty talk (yeah, I was shocked too, but apparently these two traits go really well together). I think he just about edges the other brothers out of the top spot, I absolutely adored him.
Cam has just buried her grandfather and gets the shock of a lifetime when she meets with the lawyer to discuss the will. Being anti-relationship, Cam is not happy about the situation she finds herself in. Enter Beckett and all his swoonworthy goodness.
I love the friends to lovers and marriage of convenience tropes, so when you put them together in one pick, I lap that shit up. Beckett was the perfect hero, so caring and sweet, only ever wanting to make Cam’s life easier. I have to admit, it did take me slightly longer than normal to warm up to Cam, she seemed a bit too closed off for me, however she soon let those walls down and let people in.
This was a fabulous addition to the Donnelly’s of Dogwood Cove series, I loved reading about Beckett and Cam’s relationship. Now it’s time for Sawyer’s story, and I just know it’s going to be a good one.
✨ the bad ✨
It’s not bad as such, however I did feel that the relationship between Beckett and Cam was very one sided, it seemed like he was putting in quite a lot of the effort. Still loved them though.
✨overall thoughts: if you love an accountant with a hidden dirty side, then you’ll adore Beckett
