Dangerous Devotion

"I'm a lot of things, punk, but gentleman ain't one of them."

I should've heeded my dangerous mafia boss's warning because claiming your brother's bride as your own is anything but gentlemanly.
But here I am, on the precipice of making a life-altering…and incredibly risky choice.

Despite our tumultuous beginning, our conflicts, and the vast differences that separate us, I want Vincenzo Salvini.

All of him.
The good and the bad, the caring, and the ruthless.

His possessive gaze and seductive whispers make me forget everything that stands between us.
Make me fall in love.
But that "yes" means walking into a storm of electrifying passion, lurking danger, and a tangled web of uncertainty.

And a fake marriage--that just might cost me my life.

Dangerous Devotion is book 2 of the Dangerous Intentions duet. Vince and Jemma's story begins in book 1, Sinister Intentions.

I write contemporary romantic suspense featuring alpha heroes who fall madly in love with the woman they're meant to be with—but who doesn't keel over, just because he's super-gorgeous, attentive, and overprotective.

Join their wild ride to Happy-Ever-After, jam-packed with heart-wrenching dark pasts, exciting obstacles, and sizzling chemistry.

When I'm not writing, I'm busy being a mom to the world's best kiddos or trying to keep my home under control (somehow I can't seem to make that one work). I'm an IT-Tech by day and by night I love to lose myself in a good romance book with a swoon-worthy hero and a kick-ass heroine.

Pt.2 of the Dangerous Intentions duet.

The book continues right where pt. 1 has stopped.
Jemma rather suddenly changes her whole stance and her beliefs for no reason that was clear to me. She was just boring.

There was some action in this book but the pacing felt a bit off.

By the time I reached 50% I had no longing to see where the story would go- there was practically no angst because they both kept changing their decisions. The phrase that “they are in this together” was repeated so many times that I got sick of it.

And the ending was really rushed.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Overall: 2.5/5 ⭐️ for me.

Thank you Kat Bammer for providing the arc of this book for review.

I so didn’t want this book to end. I don’t know if it was just the way I was feeling today but I was on a wee emotional rollercoaster. When Jemma, Mira and Bella get in that car and the thought of Vince’s sad face had me in tears. The way he fixed Jemma’s coat 🥲.

This book starts right where the last book ended. As one of the characters said it was like an action movie and I was all for it.

How much can one set of characters go through. I suppose when you have the mafia, mob and bratva all in one book you are gonna have a lot of stuff going on.

I instantly didn’t like Vince’s dad in the last book but then for him to do what he did to his own flesh and blood. I really didn’t like him in this one.

Poor Dom when they get to Italy. It was kinda his own fault knowing what Vince is like but Vince’s little tantrum was funny.

I can’t what for the next book to find out exactly what Zotov is upto. What his angle is and what he wants Isabella for.

I’m still on the fence about Iset (Isabella) and if i should trust her or not.

DANGEROUS DEVOTION is the fourth instalment in Kat Bammer’s contemporary, adult RUTHLESS ROGUES dark, erotic, Mafia romance series, and the second book in the Dangerous Intentions Duet. This is heir to the Salvini Mafia, thirty-two year old, Vincenzo ‘Vince’ Salvini, and twenty-one year old, Irish Mob princess Jemma Donnelly’s continuing story. DANGEROUS DEVOTION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of SINISTER INTENTIONS.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jemma and Vince) DANGEROUS DEVOTION picks up immediately after the events of SINISTER INTENTIONS in which our couple have been targeted, and Jemma finds herself in hiding with the man with whom she is falling in love. As Vince Salvini continues to battle for the top, Jemma focuses on the future with our story line hero but Jemma’s secrets will reveal a connection to the man whom she loves, secrets that will threaten the women in Vincenzo’s life. As Vince must come to terms with the actions of the man currently controlling the New York Mafia, the safety of his soon-to-be wife is his paramount objective. Several attacks against the Salvini household push Vince to take control, and in doing so, he finds himself facing another rival in the war for control.

The world building continues to focus on the building relationship between Jemma and Vince, a relationship that is now based on attraction and love. Someone is taking aim at our story line couple, and Vince begins to suspect there is more than one player in the game.

The relationship between Jemma and Vince is one of mutual attraction; a loving yet protective love affair in which in an effort to protect the woman he loves, Vince must claim Jemma as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive as the couple continues to fight for their lives.

Once again, the dynamic and familiar secondary and supporting characters include the return of Alex Falcone, and Jemma’s sister Fiona: Gabe Falcone, and Jemma’s sister Sophie; as well as Vince’s siblings Dante, Matteo, Hero, and Isabella; their father Alfredo Salvino; Jemma’s father Craig Donnelly, and Russian mobster Ivan Zotov. The requisite evil has many faces.

DANGEROUS DEVOTION is another story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and infatuation, acceptance and love. The premise remains dark and dramatic; the romance is impassioned; the character are desperate, determined and driven. DANGEROUS DEVOTION ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-the conflict resolution is incomplete.

Quick Note: I did receive this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review. (But I would have purchased this book on my own because I really love the series.)

Book 4, Dangerous Devotions, picks up right where Book 3, Sinister Intentions, ends (thank goodness because if I had to wait to see how that scene ended I might have died (iykyk). While Book 3 felt more Vince focused, Book 4 felt very Jemma focused.

Dangerous Devotions sees action, a kidnapping, sets the stage for more love, and deepens the plot with Zotov. We see Jemma shift from a lone wolf mindset and more towards that of a pack or partnership. For as much as we see her struggle against Vince, that struggle stems from multiple factors including the biggest two motivators, fear and attraction.

What stood out to me the most in this novel is the relationship that Jemma has with her sisters and cousin. This relationship is one where she felt unseen and forgotten, but what she never realized was how seen she truly was to both her family and Vince. As we read through the novel, so much of Jemma's motivation was to be seen, to make an impact, to change and not realizing that she is seen, she is heard, and she is strong. In many ways, this novel is an awakening and 'aha' moment for Jemma about her strength.

Between both books there are some pretty hilarious moments (library scene 2), hot AF moments (hello shower scene and office scene), serious moments (like why the arranged marriage was a thing, Zotov, and so much more), and action moments (a kidnapping, marriage, security breaches - oh my)!

Easily a 10/10 read for me that sets up the series for more more more (and while I def want to see what the twins get up to and how they find love, I really want to see Matt and the Salvini bros HEA)!

Please, read the first duet before reading this. You will not understand a thing.

I like how I was able to get my questions answered in this book. And finally seeing that HEA Vince and Jemma deserved. But I honestly thought this one was a little slower. There was a lot more action, but I felt like it dragged on and on. Maybe if there was more of a mystery instead of knowing who was behind the curtain and not really doing anything to solve the problem. Seeing the troubles any couple go through during their marriage, especially in the beginning is nice but seeing two different mafia family coming together and seeing those troubles is even better. But I just couldn’t get past the push and pull they were creating. Hate each other, make up, hate each other, make up, etc. There should’ve been more angst.

This was a decent read. Not as good as the first one, but still good enough to read and ponder over. And the questions that followed the first book is wrapped up nicely in the second, so I wasn’t left without knowing. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CAN WE SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SISTERS?!? That is the biggest thing I would change, is seeing what they were up to and how they were going to get out of that sticky situation.

This was also easy for me to read, which is ah-mazing. I love when I don’t have to struggle and focus on each word to really understand what I was reading. I was able to really read and understand without getting frustrated.

I will have to read the others by Bammer. It seems she really knows how to write a mafia romance, and her work is so easy to read, I can really enjoy it.

This was an ARC copy for review.
This is the conclusion of Jemma and Vince's story that picks up where book 1 left off.
What an incredible start to this book! It takes off running right in the midst of the action that started in part one. Just like the first book, this had me reading as fast as I could turn the pages to see what was coming next. This book has so many twists and turns, hits coming from every angle and I had no idea how this was going to end.
Jemma and Vince were both a force to be reckoned with on their own, but are even stronger together. She even stands up to her father in favor of Vince which had my heart melting for them. I really enjoyed having all the other players from the first two books intertwined in this story as well. It really brings things full circle for some of the key characters. I loved Jemma and Vince and the passion these two have for one another.
I can't even complain about this being split into two books, because there were so many pieces to this story that made it what it was. If any of this had been missing, it just would not have been the same. I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion to this story and as with the first part, would recommend reading this.

Wow Kat Bammer did an amazing job with this book. Couldn't put it down but didn't want to either. Both books had me so involved.

This was the wrap up when Vince's enemies were coming after his family and friends and jemma was in the line of fire several times.

The amazing mix of characters and the fast paced plot made this duet a must read.

Vince is over protective and ultra possessive of jemma and fearful of losing her but she never changes her bratty ways but tones it down somewhat.

But it is their way they are that is endearing to me as the reader. They were so supportive of each other with a connection that was unrivalled. Sweet but dominant Vince was aside jemma being bratty but loving. Complete contrasts but very much the same.

So well done. A plot filled with danger, suspense, drama and a beautiful romance. Not overly steamy but that wasn't needed as the plot stands alone.

I love the style of writing that leads to an easy read book that never lets go till the very end. Just amazing and highly recommended!!.

In Dangerous Devotion, we see the aftermath of the cliffhanger from the previous book, Sinister Intentions. Vince and Gemma have finally admitted how they feel about each other and are ready to face the world together. However, if Vince is a target, that makes Gemma a target as well and he will do everything he can to protect her no matter what it costs.

While Vince tries to uncover the threat, new revelations come to light which put Jemma and his whole family in danger. He is worried he won’t be able to save everyone so he makes decisions that affect all those around him.

Kat Bammer once again left me guessing who was the real threat and what was gonna be done about it. Decisions are made and consequences must be paid. I was crying and laughing for most of the book. The banter between Vince and Jemma is hilarious. The chemistry is scorching. Now that they have fully committed to each other, they don’t hold back. The conclusion to this story did not disappoint. We get to see some very familiar faces and I was left smiling at the end.

I don’t know how I got through both books.

The dad arranges her marriage, despite her objection and her opinions, then when she comes downstairs willingly holding the older brother’s hand, dad beats him up?? You already signed her away. That was stupid, just like the character said in the book. Then the MMC keeps entertaining ideas of a threesome with his wife?! (Come on now) and his best friend but gets jealous every time his brothers talk to her or hug her. Really?
And I don’t know how many times I’ve read a book where the wife is threatened so the husband decides to send her away “for her safety” where she is then kidnapped and he then has to chase after her and the abductors.

And honestly, it would’ve made more sense for the MMC’s dad to act when they were at that first family dinner at his own house that he abruptly left. He could’ve poisoned someone then.

I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes at this book but I wanted to see who the bad guy was but then, he wasn’t really the bad guy? Anyway, on to the next.

Truffle

Vince & Jemma … Jemma got the support and safety to be herself that she needed after a traumatic event and Vince got a soft landing to just be. When I got a peek of them in previous books I was excited to read theirs! They seemed like fire & fire! It would heat up fast and burn slow… which it definitely did! The beginning of their story sorta of knocked me off balance. I immediately got to see under their layers individually and then how they’d work together. The banter and sass made me laugh. The supporting characters were hilarious as always. The one star off is for how Vince’s character and a relationship was portrayed but in their world it felt weird since there should’ve been more drama with how public it was. Alsoooo I felt like there was supposed to be more drama, more lore there… but it just fell off/flat. Overall things sped up fast, felt like a brake check at one point and then evened out into happily ever after! I enjoyed it yet it wasn’t my favorite one.

This is the second part of their story. It really would have been easy to edit to make one but at least it was a continuation that seemed to flow a bit better than they normally do. This picks up from the surprised attack on the roof. The arc has some slow parts but flows better than the first by far. The connection between Vince and Jemma grows stronger & they face the future together. Old friends appear, new couples are discovered, twists, turns, and surprises are all in this one. While this arc answers a lot of questions and takes care of one bad guy, it's ending leaves many questions. That's frustrating. There're some reactions that simply don't make sense - Jemma was kidnapped and terrorized, her reaction in the first book makes perfect sense, this one it doesn't. there're just little things that keep it from getting a five in rating. This is book 2 of the Dangerous Intentions duet both books can be read as a standalone duet or as a part of the Ruthless Rogues Mafia series by Kat Bammer. I will absolutely be going back and reading the rest of the Ruthless Rogues!

We have forced proximity, touch her and d!e, possessive MMC, bad@ss FMC, k!dnapping, enemies to lovers and so much more! Jemma is a spunky mafia daughter who moonlights as a hacker and has found herself on the wrong side of the Salvini’s, or has she?

This is a 4/5 star read for me and a 2/5 on the spicy scale. There were some things that felt repetitive to me and some conversations the FMC and MMC never finished that I felt like were important to have to resolve some issues. I also felt like there was some context missing but I know that those gaps are because I haven’t read the rest of the Ruthless Rogues yet. It picks up right where book one leaves off which I appreciated!

I was so relieved I could begin this immediately after finishing “Sinister Intentions”. “Dangerous Devotion” continues where the previous book finished and I don’t think there was one moment when I wasn’t sitting on the edge of my seat with my heart in mouth! I’m not sure how Vince actually manages to keep going with everything that’s thrown at him in quick succession. His stress levels must be through the roof! The sizzling chemistry and banter is still evident between Jemma and Vince and the names she calls him are downright hilarious.
Throughout the book, there was plenty of suspense, twists and unexpected events. I really enjoyed learning more about Vince’s siblings, as well as catching up with characters from the first two books, “Sinful Honor” and “Tainted Desire”.
I’m intrigued as to just who Ivan Zotov is and what he’s up to. He is always present, lurking at the edge of things and then disappears into the shadows. Here’s hoping all becomes clear in a future book!

This book is the conclusion of Vince and Jemma's story but with this author I'm sure we will get to read more of them in future books. Wow did this book start off with a bang or what. What a beginning!! There was a lot of suspense in the first book but this one has a lot more. In this story you don't know who the villain is or not. But Vince's father is definitely the devil incarnate. Vince believes it is up to him to keep his family safe and when something happens to one of them he feels like he is failing. So when something happens to Jemma he will do everything in his power to get her back and keep her safe. They may have come together as a couple but I still love their banter back and forth. I really enjoyed Vince and Jemma's story and look forward to reading more of them in future books. I do recommend this duet, it was really good.

The continuation of Jemma and Vince’s story was absolutely phenomenal. Dangerous Devotions is beautifully written, well balanced and amazingly executed by Author Kay Bammer. Author Kat Bammer is a phenomenal storyteller and a remarkable writer who puts everything into the books she writes for her audience. I absolutely love that Jemma and Vince have a happily ever after to their fabulous story. Even though I’m thrilled with knowing Jemma and Vince have a happy ending, but it’s bitter sweet to see their story come to an end because I couldn’t get enough of their marvelous story. I would absolutely recommend both books about Jemma and Vince. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing books by Kat Bammer.

★ “Careful, Mr. Evil Prince. People might start to think you’re going soft.” ★

More is uncovered in this second installment, but new questions are raised. The dark moments, action, and suspense hits a higher note when it affects one in their close group, but throughout all this, one thing Jemma knows is that she now wants Vince, all of him. And she doesn’t even realize she already has him wrapped around her little finger. The book ends on a HFN for the couple as our attention is shifted to Ivan and a glimpse of his intentions. This is a series I look forward to continuing, with a set of characters I have enjoyed getting to know.

Dangerous Devotion by Kat Bammer is part two of the Dangerous Intentions Duet. This book was just as good as part one. I struggled to put it down and did not want it to end. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster. The book picks right up where book one ended so definitely read that first. The action was delivered well and the plot exciting.

Jemma and Vince are the main character focus in the book. We continue to see their relationship grow. They face challenges and have to make many decisions. I loved all the secondary characters as well.

I adored this book and can not wait to read more.

First of all, let me just say that the cliffhanger of the 1st book in the series...totally unfair!😂 BUT! Thankfully, from the very first page of Dangerous Devotion, we're right back into the action! This book is filled with twists, turns, close calls and plenty of Vince & Jemma still bickering🤣 I'm glad we get some more background on a few people and am on the edge of my seat waiting to see who is up next! As always, head the trigger warnings ⚠️ and enjoy the ride!😉🚁

OOH MY!!! These two, I can’t get enough! The banter, the chemistry, they are so perfect for each other. Like Sinister Intentions this book had lots of surprises and twists. The situation with his dad and then Zotov and the secrets kept just added to the suspense in the book. I couldn’t read it fast enough, but then I wanted more when it was over. Every time I finish one of Kat’s books I’m dying for the next, so I’ll just be over here looking for something else to read until Kat gives us more..

Dangerous Devotion picks up where Sinister Intentions left off and it's every bit as intense and dramatic as book 1. Maybe even moreso. There's no shortage of twists, turns and surprises as we get further into this chaotic relationship. They really are perfect together! Jemma gives as good as she gets and Vince takes it in stride it seems. Secrets and lies come to light and I have a feeling as we get further along with these characters more will come out. I can't wait to see who's next!

Highly recommend reading this duet. Dangerous devotion was an amazing sequel. It answered a lot of questions and started off exactly where the first one ended. I really did wish we got to see what happened to Isabella and Mirabella. The love that we see between Vince and Jemma was amazing and getting to still have their banter was something I was super happy about. This book was a little slower and much more serious than the first. It still had plenty of spice and humor in it though.

Wow, this was absolutely mesmerising with secrets, betrayal, lies, kidnapping, enemies, threats, violence. When Vince and Jemma wanted to marry, her father doesn't want them to marry. There were some twist and turns, you would not see coming. This book was so good you won't be able to put the book down.

Love the conclusion of Vince and Jemma’s story. They finally accept their attraction to one another. Vince is so protective over her and his family with all the threats they are facing. I love how Jemma is so bratty and stands her ground. Those two are hilarious. I’m so glad the second book in the duet was released very quickly and that I did not have to wait long to read it. Kudos to Kat Bammer for an another amazing book!!!

Vince and Jemma’s duet concludes. I’m not one for a cliff hanger, but as this second book came out right at the back of book one it wasn’t so bad. The drama continues in this read that will like the first have you hooked. It’s steamy with plenty of feels and the usual you would expect from all the Mafioso type families. Really enjoyed it.

This book picks up from the last book. And like the first, it’s hard to put down.
Side characters from the previous are all here.
Fighting for family has never been more important.
And I get that this book still has a few issues that will need solving.
Will there be another book in this series?
I will admit I’ve not read the first two books in this series (but I’m adding them to my TBR)
I’m hooked on this writer and the world she has created.

A must read 🥵🥵

So I began the duet and trust me the Fmc is no joke 😂. She really gets under the MMC’s skin and I loved how Jemma really gave vince a run for his money 😂. Never bowing down and super smart and vince I loved how he was super affectionate with people in his inner circle and super comfortable being flirty with his friends. I was super engrossed in the story that I finished the whole duet in 2 days 😍. I loved how the mystery is still there in the end of the book for the future books and the characters do justice to the plot. Vince really changed a lot for Jemma in this book as he never used to let go of control but in this he learned that she must stay with him and he can’t control everything and also sort of realised more about teamwork when he realised his brothers could handle stuff sometimes. Can’t wait for Isabella and Ivan though 🤭🤭🤭
