4.5 or maybe even 5 stars??? gonna take a few days to decide. I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was but DAMN!!!!! Runaway bride, fake dating, the characters grew up together, NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP & all the holiday vibes!!
Also I think this is a new release, going to go read the book that came out before this one now!

Pretty decent and enjoyable read.

Keeping it precise, this is a fun and binge worthy read. But I found it to be a tad flawed. I much loved the first half of the book. The second half fell apart for me, it kind of lost the magnetism and I started to zone out.
I absolutely adored Christian and Megan. They have such cute moments and the chemistry is genuinely good. As individuals, Christian shines a bit more than Megan even tho it was her who had more depth. I didn't like any of the side characters, including Andrew and Molly (from Holiday Romance). Those two annoyed me a lot especially towards the end. But I will say this one was better than Holiday Romance.
The ending, especially the epilogue was very sweet. If you're looking for a lighthearted Christmas read with a fair bit of drama, then this is your book.

To solve each other's problems, they agree to fake date BECAUSE OF COURSE WHAT OTHER SOLUTION IS THERE??????
MY OPINION
Holiday Romance remains my all-time fave Christmas romcom but Snowed In comes pretty close to it. Btw Snowed In features cameos of Molly and Andrew from Holiday Romance, so I advise reading that one first so you can fully enjoy their storyline in this one.
Like Holiday Romance, this book is legitimately funny and the characters have great chemistry. This was definitely in-line with most contemporary romances today: Christian was THAT dude with money who was protective and there was wide-open door spice. I can't remember if Holiday Romance also featured the word 'clit', but I feel like it didn't? Anyways, this book definitely does.
I loved Christian; I'm always a sucker for a good looking dude with a questionable past who gets his shit together. He's thoughtful, supportive, and best of all—attentive. The epitome of "if he wanted to, he would!" Megan, I'm happy to be your sister wife should the situation arise.
The reason this wasn't 5 stars was because I couldn't really get a handle on Megan. If you asked me to describe her personality, my brain would short circuit. Trying to picture her in my head was like the first time I heard cats having sex outside my college dorm and I thought they were fighting. But then I was like oh... no they're IN LOVE???? Megan was demure yet sassy yet shy yet horny yet IDK. It didn't quite fit but so be it.
Other than Megan's identity crisis, I LOVED the vibes of this book. It's a quick, bingeable read that made me feel all the things. Thankfully, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP. I enjoyed the other storylines as well: Christian and his daddy issues, Megan fixing her bad rep, Molly and Andrew's next steps... Just good times all around. ENJOY BOOKSTAHOES!!!!

Santa should hire Catherine Walsh, because this woman knows how to deliver holiday cheer!
Five years ago Megan pulled a runner from her own wedding and left her village for Dublin. Christian, an old schoolmate and the only witness to her nuptial no-show, watched her go.
Fast forward five years to a Dublin pub where a jostling crowd and one wrong turn result in a messy reunion for Christian and Megan. Shocked to see one another, they commiserate about their anticipated miserable trips back home for holiday visits after years away. Megan is now a pariah in their small village and misunderstood by family and friends as the one who broke “poor” Isaac’s heart. Christian’s string of broken relationships have his family doubtful that he’s capable of true love.
The solution? Christian proposes that he and Megan fake date and be each other’s backup for all events during the two-week visit. It takes some convincing and one ratty cocktail napkin of agreed upon “dating” rules, but Megan agrees. What follows is a two-week visit home that will take the reader through ALL the emotions and fully entertain in the process!
After loving Holiday Romance last year, I was delighted to find myself back in that world with characters I’d already grown to love. I didn’t know they’d be in this book, so that was a great surprise! For those who loved Molly and Andrew’s story in that book and enjoyed meeting Molly’s sarcastic sister, Zoe, and Andrew’s family, the Fitzpatricks, you’ll be happy to catch up with them while Andrew’s brother Christian takes center stage.
The flirty and playful banter between Christian and Megan was hilarious, and their chemistry was off the charts! I LOVED that Christian was portrayed as thoughtful, supportive and attentive to Megan. Why aren’t more male MCs written like this?! Please authors … many of us want this! The spice factor isn’t overly frequent, but it does get very descriptive in a couple spots, so skim those if you don’t like details! These two are easily one of my favorite book couples ever.
This was so much fun, with many laugh out loud moments, but also some truly touching and sweet moments between Christian and Megan with their respective families, but also with each other as they become more trusting and vulnerable with each other. This felt like a story that could have happened this way and the icing on the cake is that there was no third act break-up for a welcome change!
I hope we’ll see more books in this world … perhaps Christian and Andrew’s sister, Hannah, Megan’s brother, Aidan, or Molly’s sister, Zoe? I’d take any or all of them! I highly recommend you make this book and Holiday Romance part of your holiday line-up!

I didn't expect to love this as much as I did, because fake dating isn't among my favourite tropes. But I really liked how it was done here.
I enjoyed everything about this book – from the idyllic wintery setting to the relationships between the characters. I loved the family dynamics. There were a few bumps in the road, but overall I liked all the family members, and some friends.
I liked Megan and I adored Christian. Could he have been any more perfect? I loved how the relationship between them developed. It felt very natural and sweet.
The thing I enjoy the most about this author's writing is the way she writes characters and dialogues, and the humor. You know how so many books have the word "hilarious" on their covers, but they never are? Well, I found this one pretty funny at times.
Regarding that, I have to say that I absolutely loved the friendship between Christian and Zoe. I know I said in my review for the previous book that I didn't like Zoe, but I'm taking it back. The banter between them is perfect.

Winter holiday or Christmas romance is just hard to beat. Even Valentine's or beach romances don't come close. There's magic in the air ✨❄️ and if you like your romance with some steam look no further! 💙☃️
Megan and Christian are old acquaintances. They last met five years ago at her supposedly wedding to Isaac but Megan's a runaway bride. Fast forward and here they are working in Dublin and by chance bump into one another at a pub. Since Christmas is around the corner both dread going home for different reasons. What better idea than to return as a "couple"?
I love fake dating and close proximity so Snowed In is a check, check. And a winter holiday and small town... CHECK and CHECK! 🎄
I enjoyed the charming MCs. It's an easy and entertaining read/listen. Because they are home, there are many characters to keep track of but the families and friends are wonderful and funny! I only wish the snowed-in part happened a bit sooner. I waited forever until I forgot about it. 😹

I liked how they slowly eased into their feelings for each other. No 3rd act breakup is always a win in my eyes. It took an awfully long time to get the the title of the book, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

I had no clue this was part of a series and that bothers me a little. Molly & Andrew from Holiday Romance are quite involved in this one. I might have to read it one day even though I now know what's in store for them.

I am heartbroken knowing this story is over and I'll never be back with these characters in their universe anymore 😭
THE PLOT
Megan leaves golden boy Issac at the alter and has not been to her hometown since in fear of judgement from others on the way she left. One day Christian is at a bar and runs into Megan. They come up with a plan to fake date for the holidays, as both of them are tired of hearing their families complain about them being single. They make a contract on a wine-stained napkin with the rules of their "relationship". Soon they both realize they're in too deep and real feelings makes things more complicated than they planned.
MY THOUGHTS
I absolutely devoured this book I ate up every single bit! This has the perfect vibe of sitting next to your Christmas tree with a cup of hot cocoa snuggled up with a warm blanket. I loved this book to the point where I am lost for words. I say this every time I read a new book...but Christian is yet another book boyfriend. Not golden retriever vibes but more like doberman vibes. I usually don't rate romance books very high cause most of it is cliche and predictable, but this was so unique in it's own way. I've truly enjoyed this book and had the best time reading it.
Extra points because there was NO third-act breakup!! This story was literally a present wrapped in a perfect bow ready to be opened and enjoyed.
I loved Megan's character so much. She was sassy and witty and I was eating her up. What I really loved about this book was the character development not just in the main characters, but also the side characters. So much thought and care was put into the characters you truly fall in love with everyone. I also really loved how they dive deeper into family dynamics and parent issues. Both Megan and Christian have mommy/daddy issues and it was really nice to see these issues worked out and dealt with in such a mature way. Again, tied up with a nice, pretty bow.
All in all, this book and Holiday Romance are the best romance books I've read in a hot minute. If you're looking for a festive, fake-dating, slow-burn, comedic romance, then this is definitely for you!! I could not recommend these more. 🩷
FAVORITES SCENES AND QUOTES
You can be with someone and be lonely. And you can be alone and not feel lonely at all. It took me ten years of dating and thinking something was wrong with me before I realized I was happier by myself.
Everyone else seemed to know their place in the world but me. Like they'd all been let in on some big secret. And no matter how many things I did right, everything always felt wrong.
"I'm hiding in the closet. Literally. Not metaphorically. Molly has freakishly good hearing."
"But terrible taste in men, so it all balances out."
"You are the passenger princess, which means you can do whatever you like."
"He should be happy about that. I'm considered a real catch around here."
"Who considers that?"
"My mother."
"If I start crying, just remember that's manly now. Toxic masculinity is dead."
"But you need to actually tell her. She doesn't know what to do with you half the time. Let alone how to talk to you."
"That's such an exaggeration."
"Is it? You make all these choices that she would never make, and she tries to understand you, but she doesn't. And I know this because I'm the one who has to act as the go-between the two of you."
As I follow her across the room to her mother, I realize I'm getting so good at pretending that I'm starting to fool myself.
Something changes in that moment, and all of a sudden I wish I'd never thought of this plan. I wish I could go back to her apartment that first night and sit in her couch and kiss her like she should always be kissed. Like how she should be right now. And there'd be no pretending about it.
"Of course I can sit up," he says. But he doesn't.

THE PLOT
Megan leaves golden boy Issac at the alter and has not been to her hometown since in fear of judgement from others on the way she left. One day Christian is at a bar and runs into Megan. They come up with a plan to fake date for the holidays, as both of them are tired of hearing their families complain about them being single. They make a contract on a wine-stained napkin with the rules of their "relationship". Soon they both realize they're in too deep and real feelings makes things more complicated than they planned.
MY THOUGHTS
I absolutely devoured this book I ate up every single bit! This has the perfect vibe of sitting next to your Christmas tree with a cup of hot cocoa snuggled up with a warm blanket. I loved this book to the point where I am lost for words. I say this every time I read a new book...but Christian is yet another book boyfriend. Not golden retriever vibes but more like doberman vibes. I usually don't rate romance books very high cause most of it is cliche and predictable, but this was so unique in it's own way. I've truly enjoyed this book and had the best time reading it.
Extra points because there was NO third-act breakup!! This story was literally a present wrapped in a perfect bow ready to be opened and enjoyed.
I loved Megan's character so much. She was sassy and witty and I was eating her up. What I really loved about this book was the character development not just in the main characters, but also the side characters. So much thought and care was put into the characters you truly fall in love with everyone. I also really loved how they dive deeper into family dynamics and parent issues. Both Megan and Christian have mommy/daddy issues and it was really nice to see these issues worked out and dealt with in such a mature way. Again, tied up with a nice, pretty bow.
All in all, this book and Holiday Romance are the best romance books I've read in a hot minute. If you're looking for a festive, fake-dating, slow-burn, comedic romance, then this is definitely for you!! I could not recommend these more. 🩷

⊹ You know when you think a book is good, but you just can’t give it anymore of a higher rating? I was hoping to love Snowed In because of all the positive reviews I’ve seen from my friends on here. I needed a good little Christmas romance to kick off my Christmas reads & I liked Holiday Romance, the first book in the series. However, I didn’t have it in me to love it. & I know this is completely a me thing. I can see why so many of you gave it 4-5 stars. I see the potential. Maybe I’m a Scrooge. or maybe I’m a picky bitch!
⊹ My biggest issue with this book was the chemistry, or lack thereof, between the FMC Megan & the MMC Christian. I didn’t feel it. If the romance doesn’t give me the giggling & kicking my feet feeling, it’s not right for me. I want passion. I want yearning (I’m a yearning girl if you haven’t noticed).
⊹ I also thought the characters were very bland & one dimensional. Plus I couldn’t relate to either of me. I liked them; they were okay to read about, I could stand them, for 338 pages, & they did have their funny & cutesy moments, but I preferred the couple from the first book, Molly & Andrew, much more.
⊹ Do I still recommend reading it? Yes. Like I said, I could see so many people enjoying it. It’s a cute, heartwarming, fun Christmas read. It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem, it’s me.

Snowed In is a holiday romance masterpiece, and the best one I’ve ever read in my life. Love stories like this are my kryptonite-because no matter how many toxic romances I read, I'll always love delicate, romantic love stories the most. I was so happy, feeling all giddy and love-struck while reading it. The story follows the good ol’ fake dating trope, but it’s one of the most wholesome and achingly tender romances I’ve ever come across. It perfectly balances the lighthearted beauty of the holiday season with poignant emotional depth, weaving in the characters’ individual stories and backgrounds.
Christian Fitzpatrick won my heart with just his name; even before I read this book, so it was impossible not to fall in love with this perfect gentleman. He’s a real charmer, and his funny, spontaneous personality only made me fall for him even harder. He’s thoughtful, cocky in a way that feels confident yet affable, and an absolute sweetheart. His playfulness, his gentleness, and the way he cares for his people melted my heart every damn time. The way he cared for Megan, let her make her own choices, and stood up for her every time, even against his own family, speaks volumes about his character. He’s the kind of man who puts the woman he loves first and foremost. And the fact that Megan wasn’t even his real girlfriend at the time? Imagine how protective and devoted he’d be once she becomes his wife.

Megan O’Sullivan is the runaway bride, the one looked down upon and hated by people in her hometown for breaking the heart of their local sweetheart. She’s been through so much, from cutting ties with a controlling man to rediscovering herself and finding joy in her life as an individual. She’s strong-willed and resilient, yet also deeply altruistic and emotional. I loved that she allowed herself to be vulnerable with Christian because she trusted him, she knew he would never judge her for her choices. Megan didn’t need character development because she was already happy and confident in herself. What she needed was unconditional love, unwavering devotion, and trust from a man who truly understood her in a way no one else ever could.
“I would trust Christian Fitzpatrick with my life, and lying here before him, I realize with complete certainty that I trust him with my heart too. Wherever that may lead me.”
Christian and Megan are pure perfection. They’ve become one of my favourite comfort couples. Their friendship is so delicate and easygoing, it was beautiful to read about. The trust, warmth, and tenderness they share added to the comforting and sweet vibes of their love story. Their chemistry was enchanting and lovely, and the emotional depth of their relationship only proved that they belong together. The yearning and longing between them, even while pretending to be a couple, was so endearing to witness. I loved how Walsh played with the forced proximity trope and how the snowed-in situation brought Christian and Megan even closer, both physically and emotionally. I loved seeing them make the effort to take their relationship to the next level. They were always honest with each other, openly sharing their struggles and life challenges, and that’s one of the most attractive and amazing things a couple can do.
Christian and Megan felt so real to me while I was reading this book, and it was as if I could just travel to Ireland and find them right there. That’s one of Catherine’s greatest talents; she writes her protagonists with such realism and authenticity, layering meaningful depth between them. She also masterfully adds charming, delightful banter and chemistry that’s simply beautiful and heartwarming.
I absolutely adored the found family moments between the Fitzpatrick family members and how they embraced Megan as one of their own. One of my favourite aspects of this book is the emphasis on healthy relationships and familial connections, how deeply the characters value those in their lives. I loved Hannah was hilarious, chaotic, and fiercely protective of Christian. Their bond was so precious and adorable. I really hope we get Hannah’s book in the future because I’d love to see more of the Fitzpatricks!

This holiday season some kind of weird reading slump caught me and I only read 3 festive romances of whom I didn’t particularly like any. So basically, maybe the fact that the books I grabbed were more boring than romantic or funny, my mind decided to go for horrors and thrillers (and I have to stress out I read only a few of them too, as I was in some weird reading slump).
However, the last book I decided to read, the book I decided to close this weak festive season with made up for all those dull stories I read before, and I had a blast reading Megan and Christian’s story.
First of all, I immediately clicked with Catherine Walsh’s writing. It was simple, attention grabbing ,easy to fly through and what I appreciate the most, it was fun.
Reading Walsh’s words felt like having a coffee time with my friend, catching up with all the news in her life. It was a loooooong time since I enjoyed the book in such a comfortable way, so it is not a surprise that I finished the novel in only 2 days (in case you didn’t know, I am a slow reader and if I finish a book in 5 days I tap myself on the back congratulating for such a fast job done).
This is the second book in the series and while it can be read as standalone, it also is continuation on the first book, Holiday romance, as we do get updates on Molly and Andrew, who are main characters of that story. Because updates are not just tell and glimpse, but actual part of the plot, I suggest you all to read the books in Fitzpatrick Christmas in order. I didn’t do it, but I will definitely read Holiday Romance soon.
I got attached to these characters, so having another book with them in it makes me happy.
I enjoyed Snowed in, and loved, loved the characters, but the only thing that took me time to accept was how Megan was portrait as some kind of victim when in reality she was the one who ran away from her wedding, embarrassing her then fiance in front of everyone. With time I accepted her reasons, but still I wasn’t a fan how her ex was portrait as a bad guy.
There are some steamy scenes, but only few, which was just the right dose if anyone asks me.
Overall, this was the best holiday romance I read this year. It was like a hot chocolate on a snowy day and I will definitely read the other book in this series.

My Thoughts:
If Catherine Walsh has no fans, it's because I'm dead. I seriously don't think she could write a book I dislike. Every single one is an absolute delight filled with charming characters, hilarious banter, and heartwarming stories. I love them all so much, and Snowed In was no exception.
Christian and Megan were likable MMCs. Christian is a nice guy who seems to have his shit together, but unfortunately, he's not really happy. He's been living the life he thinks he should be living instead of the one he wants, and I think a lot of people will find this relatable. And Megan. I truly respect the hell out of her. She's a self-sufficient, practical gal who had the strength to leave a controlling man and build a life for herself doing something she loves. Throughout this story, she's forced to confront her past and comes out on top. At first, Megan goes about things in a non-confrontational way, but by the end, she boldly stands up for herself. And I loved that through it all, Christian is there, not to defend her, but to support her. They made such a great team.
The banter was so much fun! Megan and Christian are both pretty sarcastic with each other, and together they say the funniest shit. I truly laughed so much.
There was more spice than usual Catherine Walsh books. There's only two-ish sex scenes and they're not super explicit, BUT they were hot. They take place in a cabin and a hot tub while they are, quite literally, snowed in on Christmas. Very fun, sexy, and sweet.
I really loved that Christian and his dad opened up to each other near the end of the story. Christian's dad always loved him but could never quite understand him, even though he wanted to. And that lack of understanding always created friction between the two to the point where Christian felt like a constant disappointment and his dad felt like he pushed him away. While it'll take more than just this one conversation to mend the relationship, it was nice that they had this moment of vulnerability and honesty. I really related to this, and love how Catherine Walsh can write such realistic moments into a fun-loving rom-com.
I love Zoe. She is a fiercely independent woman with a wild and hilarious sense of humor. She's just such a real person. I loved when she said this to Christian:
"You can be with someone and be lonely. And you can be alone and not feel lonely at all. It took me ten years of dating and thinking something was wrong with me before I realized I was happier by myself."
Good for you babe! But now that she's got a baby and is no longer 'alone', I wonder if she'd be open to a relationship. I would just love to see her get her own story. 👀 Same with Aidan and Sophie! Something was definitely between these two!
With everything I loved about Snowed In, there was just one thing I didn't quite connect with.
Megan's relationship with her brother, Aidan, and Christian's relationship with his sister, Hannah. This could be because I'm not close to my siblings/family, but I found it odd how both these siblings were over-protective. With Hannah, it was just annoying because Christian is her big brother who is about 10 years older. So why is she acting like she needs to protect him at all? In a way though, I get it because their family is really close. But Aidan and Megan are not close at all and have never been. They haven't really even seen each other in a few years. So when she returns home with Christian and Aidan goes all protective younger brother on him, it didn't make sense. And in reality, I think Megan would have been annoyed with Aidan's behavior.
Overall, Snowed In is a wonderful holiday rom-com that you definitely should check out! Plus, it's free to read on Kindle Unlimited, so what are you waiting for???

After running away from her wedding, Megan essentially becomes the town pariah and is absolutely dreading going back to her hometown for Christmas years later. She is finally in a good place mentally, but everyone hates her in her small Irish hometown, how will she manage?? Cue Christian Fitzpatrick, coming in hot with a fake relationship idea and all the terms to go with it. But what happens when those terms start loosening up, especially after a few days snowed in at a cabin in the woods?? 🤭
❆My Thoughts:
Everyone was right–this was so much better than Holiday Romance! This book had me straight up cackling, swooning, cheering, and wanting to drop everything and jet off to Ireland to find me a Christian!

Christian. What a man, what a mighty good man 😮💨 Hot, self-made rich, thoughtful, passionate, he is literally everything. I loved his character development, especially with his dad, who has seemingly always had high expectations of him. And the way he sees Megan? My god, Andrew doesn’t compare in the slightest! (Andrew does however do pretty well for himself in this story though).
Megan. There’s truly nothing better to me than a strong, witty FMC. I loved every second she took charge and stood her ground! She wasn’t afraid to tell it how it was, ESPECIALLY in the bedroom 🔥 This girl completely rebuilt herself from the ground up, and did so without the familial support she needed. Her relationship with her brother was so cute (both of these characters had great relationships with their families), and tbh I realllllllly need an Aiden book next!!
The banter between these two was PRIME 🤌 And seriously, they deserve all the stars for clearly communicating with each other like the adults they are!! Best part??? NO 3RD ACT BREAKUP 🙌

4.5/5 ⭐️ My first read of December and it was great! This book was so cute without being overly cheesy. I adored it from the very beginning. It made me feel as if I was really spending the holidays in Dublin!
I also loved the writing and this also has the fake dating trope but the reasons for it actually made sense to me. I had a smile on my face the whole time!! ☺️❤️ and I liked that it was dual POV!!! That is always a plus for me!
I loved Christian and Megan so much. They had such a cute and sometimes funny relationship. I liked that it was also a slow burn (my favorite type of romance.)
I didn’t love the little friends with benefits situation towards the later half of the book, but other than that, this was perfect!!! It was just a fun time and I really enjoyed it!! My favorite holiday read yet! ❤️

Okay I enjoyed this so much!!!
I have been on a holiday romance kick, and I’m so happy I finally read holiday romance and this one! I love how they are so festive and cozy, but also not super cheesy or tacky. It’s a good cleanser in between some of my easier (kinda tacky) holiday reads!!
Holiday Romance is still my favorite, but I enjoyed this one too!! I love these characters all so much and Megan and Christian’s story definitely didn’t disappoint! 🫶🏼

I was really surprised to love Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh as much as I did, one of my first Christmas novels and romances (thanks Lit with Leigh, formerly GWTPSM!). I went into Snowed In with extremely high expectations and I was not disappointed in the slightest.
In summary, Megan ran out on her high school sweetheart and the dearly loved Isaac on their wedding day. After years living away from her hometown and not returning since the wedding, she runs into Christian who comes up with the genius plan to return home together for the Christmas break... fake dating.
And this fake dating trope was done well! I loved the situations Megan and Christian found themselves stuck in, their banter, their chemistry and Christian's fierce loyalty.
I didn't appreciate when I started Snowed In that this is an interconnected series and I just loved it so much more when that clicked! I'm even tempted to re-read to see more about Andrew and Molly with it in mind. I also loved getting to hear more of their story together.
I highly recommend this Christmas season romance, or maybe it's a rom-com because I giggled a bit.

Technically a sequel to Holiday Romance, this book features Andrew’s enigmatic cynical brother Christian, and let me tell you, he absolutely delivers.
It takes a lot to make me love a MF these days, contemporary no less, as there’s just so many factors that can tip the scales negatively. Admittedly, I was pretty sure things would go well as Holiday Romance was one of my favorite reads last year and so yes, this is basically an acquaintances to lovers (Christian and Megan know each other by growing up in the same small Irish town), fake dating trope (each have legitimate reasons for wanting to bring a plus one home), intermixed with the Christmas holiday and all the frustrating, wonderful, issue driven family dynamics that makes these sort of reads so entertainingly worth it.
I don’t know what magic Walsh used, but she deftly brought forth all the yummy things that portrayed Christian as leading man irresistible. Sexy, charming, take control, confident, just arrogant enough, protective and thoughtful, surprising me over and over again, making me swoon at every turn. Though Christian thinks he’s a disaster for relationships, subconsciously he wants one nonetheless, believing that he can remain poised and platonic through the farce he himself concocted.
Megan in turn, has her own baggage, wanting to divert confrontation on the many reasons she ran away from the altar years ago, denial being easier than explaining herself to friends and family. However, she can’t avoid coming home for forever, so she musters up the courage to take Christian up on his offer. Thankfully, Megan never drove me bonkers as many a female MC is wont to do (though some side characters definitely had their moments), and I’m eternally grateful for that as well as the absence of the infamous third act breakup.
Soooo, Christian in my opinion was pretty much perfect, and Megan never had a chance of not falling for him. Overall, this was a fabulous win where I feel perfectly content in not reading any more holiday stories that could potentially ruin my afterglow. This was funny, snarky, playful and emotional, as well as smexy! Walsh has cemented herself as a go-to author simply because I’m obviously smitten. Christian takes the cake here, and I’m confident you’ll think the same as well!

i randomly chose this book from ku for another holiday romance (which totally delivered) but i was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed the book itself!!
megan (who hasn’t returned home in five years since she ran away from her wedding) and christian (who’s tired of disappointing his family and being asked about his relationship status) decide to return home together under the guise of a fake relationship. both can avoid unnecessary troubles and irritating confrontations with their plan, but neither expect to get snowed in at a cabin and realize they are falling in love with each other.

i loved megan so much. I was rooting for her from the very beginning and was enraged when her reasons for ditching her wedding were revealed. i don’t know how she kept quiet about that bc if it was me, I would’ve told everyone in that town out of spite. my only qualm with her was that her character felt lacking in comparison to our mmc christian. I would’ve liked more depth to her, especially in terms of her feelings for christian.

christian was an amazing mmc!! I adored his character. as already mentioned, there was much more depth to him. I loved diving into his relationship with his family, especially the one he shared with his father. I was also just insanely drawn to him and loved his personality. to me, christian wasn’t just an attractive mmc that you loved because he was written that way. he was a character who had such an amazing personality that I couldn’t help but love him. If he were real, I would be hoping to get snowed in with him 🤭.

together, megan and christian were exciting, loving, supportive, and overall charming. I loved their relationship and loved the way catherine walsh wrote their transition from friends who were fake dating to people who came to love each other (especially because there was no third act breakup!!). both of their characters were mature and realistic with their concerns and devotion to their agreement/with each other. they were perfect and gave all of the warm and fuzzy holiday feelings I wanted.

aside from my qualms with megan’s character, the only other qualms I had were with the side characters. I felt that some important characters were not as emphasized as others were. maybe it was because christian’s family connects to the first book (which I haven’t read yet 💀), but I thought his family and his and megan’s relationships with them were emphasized more than megan’s (and megan’s and christian’s) relationships with her family. I also found some of the side characters annoying and their actions unnecessary, like aiden’s. but for the most part, the side characters were great, I just wish we had more focus on the other characters that I thought were important to the story.
overall, this book was so so good, and I loved it. it was funny, cute, and romantic; if there is any romance that should be read during the holidays, it’s this one!

i randomly chose this book from ku for another holiday romance (which totally delivered) but i was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed the book itself!!
megan (who hasn’t returned home in five years since she ran away from her wedding) and christian (who’s tired of disappointing his family and being asked about his relationship status) decide to return home together under the guise of a fake relationship. both can avoid unnecessary troubles and irritating confrontations with their plan, but neither expect to get snowed in at a cabin and realize they are falling in love with each other.

i loved megan so much. I was rooting for her from the very beginning and was enraged when her reasons for ditching her wedding were revealed. i don’t know how she kept quiet about that bc if it was me, I would’ve told everyone in that town out of spite. my only qualm with her was that her character felt lacking in comparison to our mmc christian. I would’ve liked more depth to her, especially in terms of her feelings for christian.

christian was an amazing mmc!! I adored his character. as already mentioned, there was much more depth to him. I loved diving into his relationship with his family, especially the one he shared with his father. I was also just insanely drawn to him and loved his personality. to me, christian wasn’t just an attractive mmc that you loved because he was written that way. he was a character who had such an amazing personality that I couldn’t help but love him. If he were real, I would be hoping to get snowed in with him 🤭.

together, megan and christian were exciting, loving, supportive, and overall charming. I loved their relationship and loved the way catherine walsh wrote their transition from friends who were fake dating to people who came to love each other (especially because there was no third act breakup!!). both of their characters were mature and realistic with their concerns and devotion to their agreement/with each other. they were perfect and gave all of the warm and fuzzy holiday feelings I wanted.

aside from my qualms with megan’s character, the only other qualms I had were with the side characters. Snowed it set the bar for holiday books, but it might be too high, because I don't know if many can match it.

I read this one in a day. This is a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading Holiday Romance by Catharine Walsh. It's available on Kindle Unlimited, btw. It's one of the best holiday books, in my opinion. Some of these characters are in Holiday Romance, and this is Christian's story.
I instantly fell in love with Christian and Megan. While this is a holiday rom-com. It has other elements, too. I loved the dual povs that give Christian and Megan's side.
The setting takes place in Ireland, so get your blankets and hot cocoa or coffee and let this book take you away.

For the second year in a row, Catherine Walsh has written my favorite seasonal read of the year. Last year I read Holiday Romance and LOVED Molly and Andrew's story so it was nice to get to spend a little time with them in this book.
Megan hasn't been back to her hometown since she left her fiancé Isaac at the alter. He was town's golden boy which made her out to be a villain in the eyes of many. Megan bumps into Christian Fitzpatrick (Andrew's brother) at a pub in Dublin who just happens to be from her hometown and is tired of the sad looks he gets from his family for always being single. They agree to pretend to be dating to help ease the pressure of returning home for the holidays.
I love the Fitzpatricks so much and adored this story. Catherine Walsh has a great sense of humor and her stories always make me laugh. These types of stories generally have a misunderstanding or some sort of conflict at the end which is not generally necessary, so I am happy to say that wasn't the case in this one which made it even better for me. I hope she continues her holiday stories with another Fitzpatrick next year. This was an easy 5 stars!

5 lovely holiday romance stars (and now available)
This author delivers again! This time, with a fake boyfriend trope that hooked me right away and characters that I cheered for again and again.
Megan and Christian have known each other since childhood and bump into each other in Dublin near Christmas. Both want to go home for Christmas but don’t want to show up single for another year. They cook up a scheme to be boyfriend/girlfriend to make the holidays easier for them both.
Megan has a history with her hometown. She left as a runaway bride years ago and hasn’t been home since. And Christian is tired of his family questioning him about love interests.
They have everything figured out and even write down some rules. Can their fake relationship hold up under family scrutiny?
I loved this one, with witty, realistic dialogue, family dynamics, and a love story I could completely root for. Throw in a great luxury remote cabin and a giant snowstorm, and you’ve got some spicy scenes to enjoy on a cold winter evening.
If you’ve read her earlier book “Holiday Romance,” you will enjoy the return of Andrew and Molly in this one.
My thanks to Bookoutre for the opportunity to read and honestly review this one. This would make a great holiday gift for the romance reader in your life.

I loved The Holiday Romance and I couldn't wait to see how the next couple got together.
Catherine Walsh uses the fake dating trope masterfully.
Megan has not gone back home for the last five years. The last time she was there, was when she ran away from her wedding. She was going to marry her high school sweetheart, Isaac. Yet, Isaac was not really sweet but she never told anyone.
Christian knows his family expects him to return home for the holidays but he is not looking forward to it. His family is all coupled up except for him. So when he bumps into Megan at a Dublin bar, he realizes they have something in common, neither can return home without a significant other. The best plan would be to make their family believe that they are a couple and that way they can enjoy the holidays without the pressure.
It was so nice going back to the town and these characters. Megan and Christian were easy to like and root for.
I can't wait for the next one in this series.

the setup…
Five years ago, Megan O’Sullivan left her fiancé Isaac Quinn waiting at the altar and ran away to Dublin. Now her brother who lives in New Zealand is coming home for Christmas and her mother wants her there, too. Christian Fitzpatrick is dreading going home for the holidays, too, as his three siblings are all in committed relationships and he doesn’t want to be the only one on his own. When he stumbles into Megan at a Dublin pub, they reconnect as friends as they not only grew up together, he was the only witness to her flight from her wedding. As they share their reluctance to go home, Christian comes up with the bright idea for them to be in a fake relationship. He can support her with her family and vice versa for him. It can’t possibly work, right?
the heart of the story…
Megan’s fears about returning home are well founded as her old friends sympathized with Isaac and abandoned her (it didn’t help that she didn’t defend herself). I really liked Christian who has a wicked sense of humor, is smart and successful in his own right. He’s got a great family who loves him, though he seems to believe they don’t expect much from him. The fake dating actually benefitted both of them in ways they never anticipated. Of course, their bond deepened and sometime during the holiday the friendship morphed into a romance.
the narration…
I loved that both narrators are Irish as that enhanced the authenticity of the story. And, they were wonderful storytellers who embraced the essence of their respective characters.
the bottom line…
It took some time to learn why Megan ran away from her fiancé and I always suspected there was a lot more going on than cold feet. Christian’s issues were a bit more complicated, too. All of that made for a more layered story, adding a bit more depth than I’d anticipated, a very good thing. It was great to be reunited with the Fitzgerald clan, including Andrew and Molly from the first book. Megan and Christian were wonderful characters, individually and as a couple. This holiday story is something special.

If you answered, 'yes': Your prayers have been answered, look no further than Snowed In by Catherine Walsh. If you answered, 'no': Ima just gonna pretend you didn't say that and tell you to get yourself a copy of Snowed In anyway. I mean, seriously, who's not up for a bit of Runaway Bride meets Bridget Jones' Diary meets The Proposal? And, if you try to tell me you haven't seen any of those movies (which I'd never believe by the way - unless of course you've just been beamed down onto planet Earth from a Galaxy Far Far Away (cue Star Wars theme music)) - I now know what to get you for Secret Santa.
Walsh's writing style makes for effortless reading. She's written a totally bingeable storyline that has some legitimately laugh out loud moments.
The main characters, Megan and Christian, are both from the same small Irish village and when the story opens, we find that Megan is about to do a runner on her wedding day, and the only witness to her 'great escape' is Christian.
Fast forward five years and the two of them bump into each other again at a pub in Dublin. Surprised at seeing each other again the two swap stories and commiserate with each other about their upcoming family Christmas holidays. Megan hasn't been home since the 'incident', and Christian, although he enjoys spending time with his mum, doesn't appreciate the bleeding heart comments from friends and family about his 'still single' status. After a few wines, the two concoct a plan - to become a 'fake' couple and present a united coupled front this Christmas when they visit home. Proper rules of conduct are drafted and drawn up on a wine-stained napkin. And just to make things 'official', they sign the napkin sealing the deal.
Now if you think a wine-stained napkin does not a contractual piece of paper make. Let me say this: who knows how many successful ideas would be forever lost if it wasn’t for the humble whiteboard and the even humbler paper napkin. From the Voyager airplane to the modern fire hose nozzle to Southwest Airlines, many of the world’s most influential inventions, businesses, and deals started in a messy break room or at the bar over a couple of drinks.
As we are dealing with people, and not inanimate objects, things don't always go to plan. This thing called 'chemistry' starts to bubble and the 'rules' previously agreed become a little blurred. When Megan and Christian find themselves snowed-in during a visit to a holiday cabin……well…..Christmas Magic happens. 🎄💕
