I never said I was perfect.....but damn it, I really did it this time! I fell for his ways again! And the award for dumbest girl in the world goes to.....ME!
Again!
Twenty two year old Marisa Gellys thought the weekend of her father's 50th birthday party was going to be quick and easy.
She couldn't have been more wrong.
All thanks to a certain blue-eyed gorgeous...menace, also known as Xander Barns.
Her dad's birthday would have to take a back seat, because Xander Barns has his own plans for this weekend and whether Marisa wants to or not, she's about to become a huge part of it.
Because Xander Barns always gets what he wants.
This is not a standalone novel. Book 2 in the Xander barns Series.
I am so in love with this series I though book one was good but book two is Better, Funnier, more twisted and gripping I did not want to put this down. This is the kind of book that makes you happy, smile from ear to ear, smile mischievously and laugh do hard you think you will pass out from lack of air.
I have never been so fascinated by a book character as much as I do Xander the guy does something to me. I freaking adore Marisa she really comes into her own in this book she is do bad ass at times fave scene the bathroom scene with damitria EPIC, I love the texts her and Xander send each other.
Book two is an amazing read and very different from the other books out there this book has character and surprises.I laughed so hard I swear I nearly peed my pants.if you read book one you will most defiantly enjoy book two, you will be in for a few surprises. Sarah you are freaking AWSOME
I dont even know what to make of this series, but im saying that in a good way! I read 'always wanted' in august and i've just finished 'wanted always' today, reading it in less than 24hours.
Okay so first of i like marisa her character is very different to most girls around that age I've read about, you see during this book the way she matures and learns to fend for herself. Some of the things she does are so outrageous and hilarious i cant even describe!
Xander, Xander, Xander... What do i have to say about him. Well he is also very very different to most characters you read about these days! You learn a bit more about him in this book but not too much that it has me intrigued to read the next book and find out more about him(well played Sarah;)) His strange fetishes and the way he acts make you kinda like him for some reason...
The drama in this book had me hooked! All the random crazy scenes had smiling at how ridiculous they were, but they were still believable only because it was Xander barns world. I have to admit i think this is the strangest book ive read but still in a good way! Really want the next book to come out like now. Ps. I literally hate marisa's mother, she is such a b***h ughh!
Honestly I have no idea where to start with this review so I will give you my thoughts on the characters and hopefully that helps. Marisa....so much stronger in this book than in the first book. She is realizing her worth and telling ppl just what she thinks. Especially her itch of a mother (who I can't stand) who I wish I could slap. I'm glad she decided that she needed a grown up job and is gonna work as Xander's personal assistant cause working at the local ice cream parlor wasn't working. Xander (the panty thief) is a very interesting person who has some sibling issues among a multitude of others. Demetria is bat-shit crazy, a complete psycho who truly believes Xander loves her. The bathroom scene at the garden party was freaking hilarious. All I can I say is that all women who knows that their man loves France should have hairy armpits (lol). Liam is Xander's twin brother, and I think the normal and responsible twin. I can't really figure him out yet but definitely looking forward to having more of him in the next book especially with the connection he and Marisa seem to have. All the crazy random scenes had me dying laughing, can't wait for the next book.
I read Always Wanted and I must admit I was intrigued it wasn't what I expected and yes I wanted more, I downloaded the sample of this book and it wasn't what I expected again but telling myself it was only £1.24 I decided to go for it, mistake, while these characters may have been quirky and interesting in the short book here they're just annoying. One of the main problems for me was that I just didn't like any of them, the only one that seemed in any way normal was Liam and I'm not even sure about him. Marisa was childish and irritating as hell, Xander, well the less said the better, Demetria way too OTT more like a cartoon villain and Marisa's mother I'm sorry but no way would her father let her mother get away with that, the whole thing just felt off. I've just asked amazon for a refund since I really feel this was a waste of money.
I do have to admit I did like this better than the first one. It was funny when Marisa finally learned how to stick up for herself. It made me laugh at the garden party. I'm actually kind of hoping there is a third book because so many things were left unsaid I want to know who Marisa ends up with.
Okay, see, here's the thing. The minute I say something like "I don't squee" or "I don't fangirl" or "I don't do gifs", I find myself doing those things not long after. I should have known better when I said "I don't rate with half stars". Look up! Do you see what I've done? There are some books that just turn me into a big "liar, liar, pants on fire". This one is latest to join that club.
I was just torn. I liked this book, but I thought it was better than 3 stars, but 4 stars seemed to high. Eh, anyway.
This is definitely not a book you can just pick up for the hell of it. Reading the first in the series is a must and I don't think it will cost you anything but the couple of hours to read it. I believe its still free. Fair warning, though, if you do read the first one, you will either be all "WTF was that? And it just ends?" or you will be all "Did I really waste my time on this?"
I'll be honest, I was all, "WTF". I did have some issues with the first that were missing in #2, so YAY!
This is definitely not a work of fine literature, but it is funny as hell. Let me start by telling you what you can expect.
1. Millionaire man-whore with a penchant for women's underwear. 2. Millionaire brat sibling rivalry. 3. Stalker with a mental illness. 4. Wayward twenty-something girl with a verbally abusive mother. 5. Cougars with waiters in closets. 6. A pair of "zebra striped" undies.
This one picks up right where the last one stopped and Marissa's mindset has completely changed in a matter of hours. She had been in self-pity mode, singing the "woe is me" song, but all of a sudden she has a backbone and is taking up for herself. Personally, I think the thong laced with "skank juice" may have had something to do with it.
This time around the things that were coming out of Marissa's mouth were priceless.
Xander, Xander, Xander. He is like the love-able little mischief maker that no matter what he does, he always ends up in a precarious situation. You just can't get mad at him.
And we meet Liam. Whew! I was left wondering what his weird fetish would be.
And now, soon as I get my mess together, I'll be reading #3.
Overall I enjoyed this book. However-and Sarah please don't hate me for this-the first half was a little slow. There just didn't seem to be a lot happening at first and it didn't flow as well for me. We got to know the main character more, but it was a little much on her feelings. That said, the rest of this book was great.
I loved Demetria, she so needs to be hospitalized and it's great. It was fun when Marisa learned how easily manipulated she can be because of the head case she is.
Xander-LOL-this dude is weird and he's a great character to have around. He seems to unnerve Marisa and pull out her feistiness which is hilarious. They play off each other well in the books.
I also have to say that Liam is...amazing. I'm glad he was added into the story. Gives a little bit of a twist with his and Xanders oh so loving relationship and he definitely adds a hot, but not weird, factor. Maybe he is weird and has issues, we don't know yet, but he puts up a normal front. I hope he sticks around for the next installment and maybe we'll get lucky with some more steamy scenes with him and Marisa? PLEASE Sarah!
SO funny. If this doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will. I'm glad this story plays out this way. I love the brother and I really hope the next one is eve better. I love that the female lead is way stronger then she was in the first book. I laughs so much with the comments she makes to that beats mother telling her she's her daughters lesbian lover. SO fricken funny!!! She's still getting played by Xander but now its a little different. Looking forward to the next.. Please, please, let there be drama but I want real love!
This book was hilarious. Funnier than Always Wanted. Marisa is kick ass and I love her character. I can't wait to continue this story. If only I can find where the next book is available.
A completely bonkers read. Xander has only got better as a character, makes me snort with laughter pretty much every time he pops up in the story. Marisa's life just seems to be spiralling out of control in this book.
This book had me running up and down! OMG so much drama! Can't wait to read what else Xander has up his sleeves and what will happen w/ Marisa and Liam!!!
