Gregor has battled monsters, faced down demons, and stared into the abyss—but nothing could prepare him for the horror of facing himself.
When Gregor stumbles into a remote town, he’s greeted with hostility and accusations. A vicious attack has left a villager on the brink of death, and the culprit? Someone who looks exactly like Gregor. For years, he has fought to protect the land from darkness, but now, that same darkness wears his face.
A demon is hunting him—one that knows his every move, every secret, every sin. And it’s not alone, a hellhound has also reared its ugly head, forcing Gregor to confront the nightmares of his past while he is being stalked by something sinister.
In this deadly game of shadows, Gregor must fight not just for his life but for his very soul. Can he defeat the demon that mirrors his every flaw, or will his own past destroy him?
"A Frost Of Time And Tears" raises the stakes in Gregor's battle against the forces of evil. How will he defeat the Krampus while battling his own demons.
Of all of the authors characters, Gregor is my favorite. You'd be really interesting to know a lot more about him but I think the next book which seems to be coming hinted in the last chapter of this book here, would be very worth waiting for.
Upon arriving in a remote town, Gregor is accused of a vicious attack on one of the townsfolk. The true culprit? A demon that mirrors his every move, forcing Gregor into a deadly game against his own dark reflection. This novella continues Gregor's journey, building upon the foundations laid in A Frost of Fear and Fortitude and A Frost of Death and Deceit. As in the previous installments, Gregor's character shines through his resilience and complexity. His internal struggles and determination to uncover the mysteries of his past add depth to his ongoing battle against darkness. The plot is engaging, with a well-paced narrative that keeps readers hooked from start to finish. The introduction of a demon doppelgänger adds a thrilling twist, challenging Gregor both physically and mentally. The atmospheric setting enhances the dark fantasy elements, immersing readers in the chilling world of Levanthria. As with the previous novellas, the brevity of the story leaves some character developments and plot points underexplored. still, it is a compelling addition to Gregor's saga, offering a fresh perspective on his relentless fight against evil. Overall, this installment is a must-read for fans of the series, providing an intriguing continuation of Gregor's story while delving deeper into the mysteries of his past and their impact on his current challenges.
Part 3 of 3 in Gregor’s journey, and this time, he faces his greatest enemy - himself. As Gregor struggles wi5 his mission and his mortality, he is faced with handling his hardest enemy ever - himself through Beswick’s version of the Krampus. Can Gregor overcome his own guilt and memories to save those around him and continue his mission? What does redemption look like for him?
Beswick did a great job in wrapping up Gregor’s story (at least for now). Like his other Levanthria books, it’s yuck, accessible, the characters are likable, and everything has its place in the story. A must read - especially for the holidays.

I decided after DNFing The Ballad of Borag-I that perhaps I was done with this series and I stepped away. Something I had loved from the start had slowly declined, and at the time of writing this, I have not yet read the series 2 part finale.
However, when I saw that a third Gregor tale was coming out, I knew I had to return to Levanthria. And I am so glad I did.
Gregor's tales have always been the better stories for me, and this was no different. I read the whole thing in one sitting and it has encouraged me to now return to the series and finish what I started.
I think this was a good pseudo-conclusion to Gregor’s stories. I’m glad that some of the questions that he had for awhile got answered but there are still questions and confrontations I would have liked seen. The battles with Krampus were interesting but it seemed a little anticlimactic considering the other books.
I loved this novela so much! A different view on Krampus and “Santa” but in a loosely based sort of way. I love stories that delve into the struggle versus good and evil, and how you cannot always tell which is which. You find yourself empathizing with both characters, and questioning their morals and your own. Very engaging setting and character growth in such a short time!
I loved this one as well. I think the Father Christmas relling is my fave so far. In this one he fights the Krampus. It returns all his memories and he discovers he was a horrible person. He and the Krampus have the same job, just the Krampus punishes humans Gregor punishes demons.
Fantastic short story about a grouchy monster hunter. But wouldn't you be grouchy if you hadn't slept for years? 😅 Krampus is making life hard for Gregor, but in the end good prevailed!
This dark, festive retelling follows Gregor as he battles not only external monsters and demons but also his own inner demons. When Gregor stumbles into a remote town, he's met with hostility and accusations. A villager is on the brink of death, and the culprit looks exactly like Gregor. He must confront the darkness within himself while being hunted by a demon that knows all his secrets. It's a gripping tale of self-discovery, heroism, and the fight against evil.
