Dylan McCoy and Marcelle Jeffreys a great story about 1 knowing what he wants and the other struggling with accepting it.
Marcelle aka MJ has moved from Boston back to New York City after her divorce, now a single mother to a teenage special needs daughter, she has started working again and starting a new life for them both.
Dylan McCoy business owner, single man and is thrilled that MJ has moved back to New York City, his single focus is to get MJ to notice him not as his sister's younger brother but as the man who will spend the rest of his life with her. Simple absolutely not especially with a woman who is trying to find every excuse for not wanting to be with a man who has made her feel more alive and beautiful. MJ is like many women, starting over and being older can and is tough. She is fuller than what she used to be, she is a single parent, her esteem has taken a vicious beating and the pure thought of going back out into the dating game terrifies her.
Dylan is not a man to persuaded by any of this, in his eyes this is just a smoke screen that MJ is trying to throw up in front of him and she has met the right man who will blow the screen clear away. He helps her with her weight loss journey and getting healthy again because she joined his gym, not knowing he owned it until it was too late. He is easy going around her daughter Sadie who has autism and she is fully accepting of him because he does not treat her differently. Which is such a positive in Marcelle's eyes especially since her ex-husband refused to have anything to do with their daughter because she is autistic.
There are somethings that Marcelle has to come clean to Dylan about though, especially her reasons for pushing him away but before she can tell him anything, somebody is leaving dead animals, writing terrible things on her apartment door and she doesn't know if the person is going to come after her or not. Dylan will not stand by and allow anyone to take away Marcelle or Sadie from him and the person foolish enough to come after them will be sorry they ever started this with them.
Wonderful story that is well written and it about an older woman (which is always great and a child who in the literary sense is not perfect but incredibly human). Excellent job author Roxy Wilson and I look forward to reading more of your stories.
MJ´s finally left her abusive husband, when she returns to her old hometown she ends up at the gym owned by her best friends baby brother.. Too bad this is the same brother she´s crushed on for years. What she doesn´t know is that Dylan´s hold a flame for her for even longer, and now he won´t let the age difference stand between them.. Smutty fluff and a man who knows what he wants in a great combo.
"Work it Out" is a nice and sweet romance proving that opposites do sometimes attract and fit well together. I enjoyed reading Dylan and MJ's Beautiful story. I must admit that the ending caught me a little by surprise. I would love to read a sequel detailing what happened next with this Dynamic Couple. Great job as always Roxy!!!
3.0⭐️I enjoyed the story. This author has a great deal of potential. Still, I felt something was lacking, and I'm not sure I can pinpoint what that something is. I liked Dylan very much. He was persistent and went for what he wanted--an Alpha without the menace. MJ was irritating at times with her fixation concerning the 13 year age difference between them (MJ being the eldest of the two). Also, I would have expected some awareness of the racial aspect from both, but it was a non-issue. A bit unrealistic to me.
While the relationship between Dylan and MJ was good, what I believe is missing is that the story failed to involve my emotions. In order for this story to engage my emotions, there needed to be more depth relative to character development. Further, the sexual encounters did not move me even a little. I needed to feel invested in this couple's journey and HEA ending, but unfortunately, I really wasn't. It was just a story. Very disappointed.
I really enjoyed MJ & Dylan story it felt real. Sadie was great also considering everything that was going on. I was so happy the way MJ defended herself against Rod what a jerk. Love a HEA.
