This book was so incredibly hilarious! I wasn't expecting it to be so funny! It caught my attention from the very beginning and wouldn't let go. It had a little bit of everything. Humor, sexy times, a little mystery, and of course sweet romance. Oh, and did I forget to mention the hot alpha firefighter?! Yeah, he was great! I really enjoyed this one and I look forward to more in this series and from this author!

Nikki: Lindsay! This book was so freaking hilarious!

Lindsay: OMG. It was! I wasn't expecting that!

Nikki: I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so funny either. I thought it was a great surprise. I was hooked from the beginning!

Lindsay: Same here. I loved the girl scout cookie scene. I died laughing.

Nikki: LOL Me too! And then I got pissed cause there was no girl scout at my door! I want those cookies!

Lindsay: LOL. I don't think girl scouts go door to door anymore. I typically only see them outside the grocery store. But I'm with you, I wanted some Samoa cookies! I did have a couple thoughts though....what did she need with all the cookies when she was a baker?! She can make anything she wants! My other thought...what happened to the cookies!? She said they were going to be for the next family dinner but she took a cake. And there was never a mention of the cookies being eaten after that.

Nikki: Semantics! Lol.

Lindsay: LOL. Let's talk about the hottest part of the book...I loved Kennedy! He was alpha and perfect and AWESOME!

Nikki: I know! I loved her initial meeting with him at the bakery. Then, when she met him officially at her sister's house! Omg I was rolling on the floor laughing the whole time! Her niece was hilarious!

Lindsay: I loved their meeting at the bakery. I was hoping that he would how up again. I wasn't expecting him to be at the family dinner. I expected another reject but her sister did good!

Nikki: Yeah she did! The only thing about that, I wondered how Kennedy knew the sister's husband? Whatever. The point is, he was there and sparks were a-flyin!

Lindsay: You know, I wondered the same thing! It was said that they had a meeting, but I couldn't figure out what they had to meet about since they're jobs didn't overlap. One of my favorite parts was the BBQ at the firehouse with the guys and how all of them jumped on her when she tripped and fell. I was quite literally ROTFL.

Nikki: LOL I loved that part too. And when Kennedy cleaned her boo boo ♥♥

Lindsay: LOL. That was a pretty hot scene. I liked the mystery/suspense part of the story, but I had a few questions about how the bad guy was able to pull off some of the things.

Nikki: I was curious about some events too. I did like that it wasn't obvious right away who the bad guy was though.

Lindsay: Same here. The little old lady was very obvious so I was glad it wasn't her. Especially since everyone else thought it was. Going back to Kennedy, he was like the perfect guy. He was hot, an alpha, protective, a firefighter and he could cook and bake! Where can I find a real life version of him!?

Nikki: Dude sign me up too! I loved him! And he wasn't complicated! He said it like it was and he showed interest in Abby from the first! I really liked that.

Lindsay: Exactly. He wasn't a jerk, he didn't play games, he was hot, he was into her and he let all that be known. I think it's safe to say that this book was a total 5 star read for us! I definitely want to read more from this author.

Nikki: Oh me too! And I can't wait to see who the next book will be about! :D

4.5 Stars!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a romantic comedy that was low on angst and had a touch of suspense to keep you guessing until the end. This book was super steamy, sweet, sexy, and one of those books where it is easy to relate too. This book had me laughing the whole way through and smiling at the end.

This is Abby and Ken's story. Abby is in a dating rut and needs a fix. Besides her sister setting her up with horrible blond dates, she doesn't see her luck changing but a run in with a new customer that intrigued her is going to change her life Abby is being set up again by her sister. She doesn't expect much since they are always duds but this most recent one is someone she has met and thinks is a total babe. Ken is a firefighter and downright nice guy. As these two begin to date and get to know one another, between someone trying to get Abby's business and her funny mishaps, these two embark on a sensual love affair that will have you smiling and swooning the entire time. Oh and get ready for some pretty awesome dates!

LOVE LOVE LOVE KEN! He was effing amazing. He was down to earth, sweet, funny, charming, sexy, and a total beast in the bedroom. He was honestly just all around likeable guy that made me swoon. I also love Abby. She was seriously funny and I could relate to her in so many ways. I loved these two together and loved their sizzling chemistry. They definitely turned dessert into something I will appreciate more and never forget.

I have only one complaint... that ending needed more. I need an epilogue a few more chapters or something BUT this is a series so I am hoping for check ins with them when we see future matchmaking in the works.

I highly recommend this book!

This is a story that is sweet, delicious, sexy and with a little suspense thrown in. Abby is starting her business, a bakery called Sweetest Temptations, and she loves all things to do with baking. She has loads of sweet treats and muffins ready to sell. When her first customer walks in, Abby is stunned silent by this deliciously sexy man. Seems he has a sweet tooth. Abby forgets about him when she gets busy. Then on her weekly Sunday night dinners with her sister who keeps trying to set Abby up on dates. Abby is surprised to find sexy man standing there. Turns out that Ken, deliciously sexy man, is a firefighter and he is attracted to Abby as she is to him. But neither wants to rush things. So they take things slow and try to learn more about each other. When odd things start happening to her business, Abby can't think who would be doing these things to her. Will Abby tell Ken her fears and what she is feeling? Can Ken protect her from the craziness surrounding her? This is a great story that will pull you in from the beginning and is worth every minute it takes to read it. I hope there is more maybe from Abby's friend or maybe more from the hot fireman! This is a first for me from J.C. Valentine and I loved it. I can't wait to read more from her.

I received and ARC of this book from the author for an honest review.

This book is fantastic. It's funny (make you laugh uncontrollably funny), sad (makes you ugly cry sad) and enough danger to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Abby, a baker and lover of anything sweet is opening her new business, Sweetest Temptations and Kennedy (Ken), a sexy, charming firefight with a sweet tooth is her first customer.

Abby thinks Ken is the finest man she has ever met but doesn't have time to dwell on him as she has her business to keep her busy. They run into each other again at her sister's house for Sunday dinner. They are attracted to each other but want to take things slowly. Life has other plans and Abby is in danger and Ken goes into protective mode. As the danger continues they realize how short life is and have decisions to make. The big question now is will they get their HEA or will the danger be too much to get past...To find out you'll need to read the book!!

I love that Abby is not the model thin picture perfect female and the story is so real that you'll find yourself remembering similar things in your life.

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book!! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is looking for an all round romantic read!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Abby has opened a new business, a bakery, and one of her first customers is Kennedy. She runs into Kennedy again when she goes to dinner at her sister's house. Kennedy is a firefighter and they immediately start their romance. At first, Abby is jsut having fun but then she finds herself falling for Kennedy. When it looks like someone is out to destroy her and her business, he steps up to the plate to protect her.

This was a great romantic suspense novel. It was so different from Valentine's Wayward Fighters series that I was hesitant to read it. However, I am thrilled that I read it. Her characters were thoroughly developed and the plot had me guessing who the villian was until the very point that she revealed him. With the suspenseful plot, I fell into the romance between Abby and Kennedy. There were parts in the story where I just couldn't help but laugh at the circumstances. My favorite scene was the dinner at Abby's parents house.

All in all, a great read that I will definitely recommend to my book buddies.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Sweetest Temptation is a light-hearted love story with a little suspense thrown in.

After weeks of getting ready Abigail Satcher is opening her dream bakery, Sweetest Temptations. When she flips that sign to open for the first time she's a nervous wreck. Her first customer, Kennedy Harper, the ultra hot firefighter doesn't help with her nerves as he's gorgeous. She wasn't expecting to see him again, not that she'd mind, but she wasn't ready. When they hit it off and make plans to go out. She has no idea where it will lead.

When little things start happening around the bakery, Abigail doesn't know what to do. This is her dream, her baby, her livelihood. Can Kennedy help make it better?

This was a quick sweet read. I loved Ken's protective nature with Abby. I enjoyed the humor with the added suspense. This was my first read from this author, but I doubt it will be my last!

Oh my gosh! What to say about this book? First off, my favorite thing about this book was the flirting! I mean actual flirting! Minor sexual innuendo, but mostly, honest to goodness old-fashioned flirting! It was so refreshing and sweet and comical. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. Also, I really felt the chemistry between Kennedy and Abby. As a couple, they were HOT! I haven't decided how I feel about the sub-plot of the bakery sabotage. It didn't take anything away from the story, but it was somewhat predictable. Sadly, I figured it out as soon as the character who turned out to be the culprit was introduced, but maybe I watch too many crime dramas also! All in all, I really enjoyed this story. I was hooked from start to finish and that is always a sign of a good book!

Sweetest Temptations review:
Abby and Kennedy's story is so sweet, no pun intended. She is busy doing her own thing and in the process of opening her own bakery. Her sister keeps having her over for dinner, trying to set her up. Unfortunately, for her it's usually with guys that don't interest her. Until the time she shows up and she is a mess, then there is a hot guy, Kennedy at dinner. Kennedy is charming and she feels awkward. At the end of the night, they talk and have a spark between them. Overtime, one thing leads to another and they get together. There is other drama added to the story that keeps this story going.

I recommend this story as a good read.

This was a great story that had me swooning and on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. Abby just wants to live her dream, but what happens when someone else wants to destroy that dream? To what lengths will they go? Truly a great story of finding love with some suspense.

J.C. Valentine has written another great story with characters that you can’t help but to fall in love with and a storyline that grips you from the beginning. I could not put this book down.

I was given an ARC copy of Sweet Temptations by JC Valentine in return for an honest review.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this story. It had everything a good book needs to hold my interest: romance, mystery and developing relationships.
I loved the relationship that develops between the main characters Ken and Abby. Their love develops from a spark into a raging fire as the story unfolds.
Also helps that the hero is a gorgeous fire fighter!

I absolutely loved this story and recommend you to read for a great romance mystery story.

I received an ARC for an honest review from the author.

I have read the author's Wayward Fighters series & although this is different, the writing is still brilliant. This story is about Abby who has opened a bakery & Kennedy just happens to be her 1st customer. She cannot stop thinking about him & then he shows up at her sisters house for dinner as her "blind date". Watching their romance grow while having some suspense in the story about what is happening to Abby at the store keeps you reading until the end. I really enjoyed this story, perfect amount of romance & suspense.

A lady with a cat who has just opened a new bakery and is working all hours seems an unlikely heroine for a steamy romance, but that is until her match-making sister introduces her officially to a very dishy, very sexy, firefighter. But this is not one long, graphic, scene of passion. It’s a grounded story that builds slowly, layer on layer like filo pastry, to an earth-shattering climax, leaving you wondering if any of the people you’ve come to love will survive.

This is the first of Ms. Valentine's books that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sweetest Temptations is the first book in her new "Blue Collar Series" and what a great way to start.

Our story starts with tenacious bakery owner Abby, who after being in a property bidding war, is celebrating her Grand Opening. Just the only thing missing is the customers. After waiting what feels like forever (and giving herself much doubt about being her own boss) Abby finally gets her first customer. What she didn't except was a hunky stranger who made her act giddy and flirtatious. But who is she kidding, what guy wants a curvy girl that has a passion for sweets. She only attracts the kind of guys her sister tries to set her up with. You know the Fat and balding ones. So with the mantra of "Out of sight, out of mind" Abby soon forgets the hunky stranger. Until that weekend when she goes to her sisters house to have dinner. What Abby didn't expect was their dinner guest to be her sexy customer from her grand opening. Kennedy or "Ken" as he likes to be called, was totally surprised to see the sexy, curvy bakery owner at dinner. Both Abby and Ken are attracted to each other from the start but their relationship develops slowly. With Abby being busy at her bakery and Ken being busy as a firefighter, who has time for something serious.

However their non-serious relationship soon starts to grow serious when certain horrific events start happening at the bakery. Fearing for Abby's safety, Ken soon goes into Alpha-Protector mode and realizes that his feelings for Abby are a little more than what he intended. Abby on the other hand is freaking out. Something just isn't right. Her bakery seems to be the center of catastrophic events and her life might be in danger but all she can think about is Ken. With everything going on, why is he the only one she feels safe with? Can Ken make everything better and lock down Abby's heart?

This was a "Sweet" story that lets the reader escape into a fantasy world. The supporting characters are funny and also very protective of Abby, so it makes you like them even more. There was no explicit sex scenes or language which gave me a little break from some of the more explicit books I tend to read. It was a lighthearted and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am defiantly looking forward to reading book 2 in this series.

4.5 Sweet and tempting Stars

Sweetest Temptations (Blue Collar #1) by J.C. Valentine

Abby is determined to make her new bakery shop a success. She is following her dreams and has everything she could ever want. Her sister thinks her life is lacking in the love department so she uses weekly dinners to try to set Abby up with a string of losers, men that Abby just does not feel a connection. Then she meets Kennedy, a hunky firefighter with a killer smile and captivating charm that makes her weak in the knees. One of her sister’s set ups has finally paid off. The more she tries to stop herself from falling for him the faster she seems to be going down.
When a series of mysterious incidents begin to occur in Abby’s life, Kennedy shows his alpha male protective side and will do anything to keep her safe. It is clear someone is out to get her and ruin her business. Kennedy vows to find out who is trying to hurt the girl he can’t stop wanting to be with, he will protect her no matter how stubborn she tries to be.

The title of this book describes it perfectly for me. Yes, it is the sweetest at times, when Kennedy gets down on one knee to ask Abby to be his girlfriend I just about died. Kennedy is also very tempting like a devilish dessert you shouldn’t eat. From the start I could feel the sexual tension between these two. However, it was not about just lust and desire, it felt like a connection that would mean so much more. I loved Abby she was quirky and fun like a girl I would be friends with I completely got her from the first chapter. Her relationship with her sister was so real. Her friendships with Hope and Dex are great; they were fun characters to read. Kennedy’s firefighter friends were totally swoon worthy. The sex scenes were steamy and sensual. All in all it was a very enjoyable story, I could not put it down. I loved J.C. Valentine’s, Knockout and Tapout, Sweetest Temptations does not disappoint. I am hoping that Jack and Hope’s story is next there was a hint of these two getting together. Highly recommend.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book is really good some of the mystery surrounding the main characters didn't quite have the OMG moments for me as I would have liked but they still kept me asking what would happen next.

In this book we meet Abby Satcher. Abby is a woman ready to start a new chapter in her life she has bought a bakery and is hoping that this will work and be everything she has ever dreamed of. Though things are working out well on this front she knows there is more to life than just work and she would like someone to share her life with but knows that starting this business takes priority. To bad her sister doesn't get this same memo, but no matter how bad these men are she keeps coming back for more because oh what we won't do for family. One night though since why dress up for losers (or so she thinks) she realizes her sister has brought her a man that just might have been worth dressing up for. The fine man of the hour Kennedy Harper.

Kennedy isn't looking to be the white knight that rides off into the sunset with the girl he is looking for some fun right now. You see Kennedy is a firefighter so he has the white knight routine down pat. However when things start happening in Abby's shop he can't help but want to be the man she turns to in her time of need and maybe just maybe be her white knight.

This book has quite a few twists and turns and you will never believe who is the person that causes all the problems. There are also many quirky characters that add to this fun yet entertaining story. I would recommend this to anyone it was kind of a quick read but defiantly worth the time.

4 sweet STARS!!!

If you're looking for short, sweet, and a bit of mystery sprinkled in - this is your book! The characters were great, the banter between super with moments of humor, and the storyline kept me swiping pages until there were no more.

Abigail is terrific! She was someone I'd love to be friends with. A girl-next-door sort. I found her loyal, sweet, driven and funny! And an entrepreneur. Abigail owned a bakery - Sweetest Temptations. It'd been her dream.

"My business - my baby, my pride and joy - would be celebrating its grand opening today..."

When Kennedy walked into her bakery opening day, she was in awe of this immensely gorgeous man. She even hoped he'd come back. So when she found him again, she misinterprets the situation. I found that whole scene widely comedic!! I won't go into detail with much more but as they begin a relationship, I felt satisfied. I felt that no matter the obstacle, they could climb it. Their relationship was fun, flirty, hot, and they were a complement to each other.

"Spending the last three days with you has been amazing. If I had the choice to go to work out shut out the world and stay in bed with you all day, I wouldn't even have to think about it."

I loved the uncanny coincidence of the 'mystery' that happens with Abigail's shop and Kennedy's occupation!! If I told you - you'd know what happens!! And this is a book you need to read and find out!!

This started off as a really Sweet book, Abby is single woman and is just opening here very own Bakery, she loves to bake cakes and cookies and I think a dream of hers has come true. On her very first day she finds that it's really quiet and reading a book will help to pass the time until her very first Customer comes in, when she looks up what does she see, Wow...one super Hot
Swoon worthy sexy ass package!

Anyway, not to give to much away lets just say, Abby is a sweetheart, in need of a Hot guy, she also has a great sense of humour, she got the best friends around a Cat she loves, and her Sisters Daughter is a treasure, and had me laughing Sent from my iPad

Kennedy is Hot... Caring, Charming, Funny and a Firefighter one very yummy package!

There a great twist going on in the book too, but you as the reader need to check it out, I'm not giving anything away about that, some really Lol moments that had me in stitches and the chemistry between Abby & Kennedy is absolutely amazing, lots of sexual tension going around between the both of them and so much more, as I said it started of really Sweet & funny, then got a little Hot and Steamy and ended..... Well you'll just have to read it yourself!

This should definitely be in your TBR list, I'd definitely recommend it, it's Sweet Funny, Sexy and has a great plot too, this was a Cream Cake with a Cherry on the Top read. Yummy!!!

The only reason I'm giving it 4 Stars is because I wanted it to go on a little further at the End, it really deserves 4.5 Stars but it wouldn't let me do it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book in one sitting. Abigail is the owner of Sweetest Temptations which is a bakery she just opened by herself. On the grand opening, Abby’s first customer was a hot man that didn’t say much but made quite the impression on her. Once he walks out, Abby doesn’t see him for the rest of the week so she just forgets about him while Abby’s sister Amy tries to hook her up like she does every weekend. When Abby shows up to her sisters, she wasn’t expecting to find the sexy guy from the bakery to be the one her sister hooks her up with. Kennedy is exactly what Abby needs and after two dates these two are burning up the sheets. Finding out that Ken was also a fire fighter was a huge plus in Abby’s book. He is everything she is looking for in a man: great cook/ baker, lover of cats and just enough alpha in the bedroom to keep their sex life interesting. All is going great between them but when one incident after another starts to happen at the bakery, Abby gets suspicious and it turns out she has a right to be. With a fire and multiple break in Abby’s friends are on full alert. While her relationship with Kennedy grows so does her need to have constant protection.

I was given this book for an honest review. Things are finally coming together for Abby with the opening of her very own bakery!! Now if she could only convince her sister to stop trying to set her up with every single guy she knows. Men are the last thing on her mind until she meets sexy firefighter Kennedy could everything really be coming together for her? When things take a disastrous turn as a mystery someone is determined to upset her happy life can she get through it surrounded by those she loves?
This was a fun romantic comedy with a little mystery thrown in. Abby is a perfect mix of confidence but with a few insecurities to make her relatable and she had me in stitches with her one liners. Then there's Kennedy a protective alpha male with a super sexy hero complex who's not sure what he wants for his future he just knows he wants Abby. Add in a spit fire little niece and a fabulous gay best friend and you have a cast of characters you can't get enough of or at least I couldn't. This is the start of a series but this book was a standalone with no cliff hangers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to see where the series goes.

J.C. Valentine's new release Sweetest Temptations has humor, passion, mystery and suspense all wrap up in a delicious story.

Abby, is living her dream by opening Sweetest Temptations (bakery shop) and her very first customer is Kennedy (hot, sexy fireman). Abby and Ken have an immediate connection and are surprised when Abby's sister (unbeknownst to her) set up a blind dinner date.

Flames ignite between them very fast and hard, however, this story doesn't just bring you their romance, but a twist as someone is trying to bring down the bakery shop and destroy Abby in the process.

The connection to the culprit trying to hurt Abby is pretty easily recognized in the story, but the events are chilling.

J.C. Valentine writes a wonderful story that keeps you engaged with the characters, including her two employees. You are laughing and biting nailing until the end.

I would recommend this story and give it 4 Koala paws.

The chemistry in this book is smoking! Abby and Kennedy are great together. The perfect combo of alpha, sweet, sexy, girl next door…they will heat up your ereader while keeping you hooked to the plot.

Abby is living her career dream. She is now the proud owner of her very own bakery. Now, if she could just get her sister Amy to stop trying to use Sunday family dinner to find her a husband.

Kennedy is a fireman. He is hot, sexy, sweet and good at what he does. He has a great group of guys in his turn and they help take care of their own.

Someone has it out for Abby and/or her business. The danger keeps escalating every time something else happens. While Kennedy and Abby are trying to get to know each other, they are forced to deal with this person or persons trying to ruin Abby.

This book caught my attention with Abby’s humor and love for family right away. It kept it with all the great characters and the suspense and mystery that was woven into the plot. It was a quick, fun read.

Abby is single and happy. She's about to get even happier. She's about to embark on a new adventure. One that includes the opening of her own business.
Sweetest Temptations is a hit with the locals and Abby loves nothing more than to spend her time elbow deep in flour and sugar.
Abby just wished her sister Amy would stop trying to fix her up. The string of men that Amy has invited to their weekly dinners are not Abby's type.
Abby met her type, sort of, the first day she opened her shop. Mr. Blueberry muffin. Tall, dark and hunky.

Ken is a hunky firefighter. He's got a sweet smile, smoldering eyes and a wicked smile. His instant attraction to Abby isn't something he bothers to hide.
