In the blink of an eye or the strum of a guitar, a person's fate can shift in an instant. One choice, one action, one melody can change everything.

Music has been the very essence of Daisy Holloway’s life for as long as she can remember. Driven by a desperate need to make her father proud, she throws caution to the wind and embarks on a journey to Nashville. Her dream is a long shot, but with no backup plan in sight, besides her entire life’s purpose, what does she have to lose?

After losing his Pops, Sawyer Mason is left with an empty heart and no real direction of where he wants to go in life. Deep down, he yearns for something more, but what? Singing is the one thing that has always felt right. Taking a chance to become a star, he finds himself chasing his passion, hoping to share music with the world.

There's just one problem, the gorgeous girl who caught his eye, just so happens to be the Rep for the biggest record label in Nashville, and relationships with clients aren’t allowed.

The right location brings them together but the wrong timing could ruin it all.

Will he choose music, fame, or the girl?

I love cowboy romance and I love celebrity romance and this is a wonderful mix of both!

Following the Nashville music scene we have a musician and the rep of a music label trying to find their places in the world and finding a place in eachother’s hearts as well!

I love his band mates! Their little found-family relationship is so cute!

This books has very lyrical writing which is not surprising for a book about a singer and a music lover! They know how to dissect lyrics!

CWings: bullying, death of a parent, grief

Thank you to LoveNotesPR for the review copy!

This was such a cute and sweet read, filled with heart, charm, and characters you can’t help but fall in love with.

Daisy is a driven and passionate FMC, constantly trying to make her father proud while chasing her dreams in music. I really admired her strength. Leaving her small town behind to pursue what sets her soul on fire made her feel relatable and inspiring.

Then there’s Sawyer, the MMC who completely stole the show. He’s got the voice of an angel and the heart of gold to match. His dedication to his family and his quiet determination to love deeply made him the kind of book boyfriend you root for from the very beginning.

There’s definitely instant chemistry between Daisy and Sawyer. Normally that would be a slight drawback for me, but it actually worked here. Their connection felt warm and inevitable, and watching them fall fast and hard was so satisfying.

If there’s a second book, I’m really hoping it focuses on their hilarious friends. Those side characters added so much life and fun to the story. Overall, She’s My Kind of Rain was a sweet small-town romance with music, love, and plenty of heart.

Firstly, thank you Ella & Love Notes PR for allowing me to be apart of the ARC team! As soon as I saw this cover I was immediately sold & it really did not disappoint.

If you’re looking for a cute fluffy romance BUT with some spice & cute nicknames & keeping it short and sweet - this is the book🫶🏽

This is an insta love romance so if you do not like that trope I would not recommend this book.

Tropes
Sunshine FMC - who owns a PINK phone🩷
Found family - one of my favourite things about this book
Country singer (who owns a ranch!)
Reserved MMC
Small town country romance
He falls first
Work place romance..kinda
Set in early 2000’s
Dual POV

I was already emotional in chapter 2.. please check the TW’s🫶🏽

Now… let’s start by saying I LOVE the characters. I love that Daisy has her best friend/side kick & Sawyer also has his best friend/side sick which makes this found family come together so well and I loved how we got a bit of everything between them all & I really hope to see more! Rhett was a favourite of mine - I just loved his banter & flirty talking..he is the cowboy of dreams.

This really is just how you expect every girls dream to go..it was so beautiful & such a peaceful easy read. It had spice which let me tell you, was dam good & hot! I love that we have so many different spots & places with them in their story and ugh..just this is the romance book you need. I love how it was a ‘right time, right place’ moment🥹 I think this is what makes it so beautiful because you think about so many scenarios whilst reading & this is just the perfect one we all want to live in.

We get introduced to several different characters throughout within how the story connects but it’s just enough to not confuse you & keeping it really simply & easy to follow. And it ends up being a beautiful message & story coming together.

The cowboy hat talk! That was so fun and so different to the usual kind of cowboy hat references you get. I love that he is a country singer & this is the main focus for him because watching him grow confidence throughout this book with his singing was so fun & let me tell you.. the mouth on Sawyer🤭🎤

‘Miss Daisy’ 🤭🤭🤭🤭

I loved it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I came across this book on instagram, I knew I had to read it. It did NOT disappoint. She’s my kind of rain feels like a warm hug, the fact that it’s set in the 2000s, may be my fav era just yet. The romance between Sawyer and Daisy developed beautifully, I also loved the small town aspect and the side characters. I can’t wait for book two as I have an inkling who it might be about - I NEED THEM TOGETHER.

I wanted to love this but unfortunately this was not it.

So we follow Daisy, who looses her job and decides to take a chance; she moves to Nashville and applies for a job at a massive record label, she gets it (woo!) and begins scouting Nashville for talent. There is a lot of singers in Nashville, and Daisy is struggling to find that spark and special person; until she hears Swayer sing. She leave him her card and they set up a formal meeting; they do however meet in a bar first😏 and yeah you can see where this is going.

I loved the first 30% of this book, but once I realised we were half way through and still the MMC and FMC hadn’t met, I knew it wasn’t going to be good. I hate instalove, I felt no chemistry, and some of the dialogue was so awkward. They had only met but they were talking as if they loved each other. Instalove is an instano for me.

I will definately give this author another go in the future, and it is unfortunate this wasn’t for me.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish! This book gave me major Friends vibes but make it country. From the coffee shop to the friendships that unfold in this story I couldn’t put this book down. Our main characters are Daisy and Sawyer and their love story. But Rhett my man is my favorite character. If you’re looking for a small town, country singer romance please pick up this book. Definitely check the triggers warning it does touch on heavy stuff and has explicit scenes.

2.5⭐️, rounded up because it did give me the country/ranch vibe that i was looking for🤠. it started out strong but about 40-50% through the writing fell flat for me and the way they discussed their seemingly instant but super deep love and just their inner dialogues felt pretty cheesy in my opinion. i really did enjoy the parts of the book that described the beauty & the history of Sawyers ranch and the parts about tending to the horses and other animals though!

Country Music 🤝 Country Romance
Girls run and preorder because this book is everything and more.

Daisy leaves Tansy Bay, Indiana in the rear view mirror when she makes a rash decision to move to Green Hills, Tennessee to see what opportunities awaits her there. Both Sawyer and Daisy have such amazing friends who will have you laughing out loud especially when they’re together. Both friends are so supportive and wanting them to achieve everything they want and more. Daisy starts out working at a coffee shop before landing her dream job at the biggest record label in Nashville. While out looking for the next big singer she sees Sawyer. The happiness I felt when Sawyer sang on stage for the first time and his song choice had a meaning to not only him but also to Daisy which I found really sweet. Sawyer was an instant hit with the crowd but he only had eyes for Daisy, the beautiful stranger in the crowd. Daisy was instantly drawn to Sawyer the second he stepped out on stage and even more so when she heard not only him singing but when he spoke to her. Sparks were flying when they finally kissed. Daisy opening up to Sawyer about the passing of her dad broke me, I really felt the emotions coming out of the pages. Sawyer is gone for Daisy and I am here for it, that boy is whipped with a capital W. Watching Sawyer and Daisy navigate their newfound lust for each other was so sweet. When he took her to his pops love story, swoon. This is a slow burn but it’s worth the wait, you can feel the emotion and lust, it really made it feel like a normal relationship. Watching them navigate through their love and sacrifices will have you feeling so many emotions but the love they share for each other will have you loving every single step of the way. When Sawyer plays Daisy’s dad’s guitar I was in tears.

Ella really has a way with her writing and making you feel every bit of emotion throughout the book
I’m really hoping we get a book for Rhett and Kaylee

Thank you Love Notes PR & Ella for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

When I saw this book, I said to myself, "Oh my God, how beautiful is this cover!" and that made me say I want to read this book, unfortunately I was not thrilled.
For half of the book the main characters don't even know each other, I couldn't identify with them, their speeches are very fake but if you are looking for a simple story without pretense you may like this book 🫶🏼
I would have liked to feel more of the 00's vibes since it’s set in those years, but I didn't feel them, they are just dates written over the chapters.

All in all it is a good book, if you love insta love and small town I definitely recommend it! ✨

Finished another book yay! ✨️

First I would like to thank the author and LoveNotes PR for giving me the opportunity to read this one ahead of release! ❤️

The 2000s setting got me requesting for this one, I'm looking for something that will make me feel nostalgic and this book delivered that. The iconic outfits, flip phones and timeless country songs really made me feel I'm old lol

Story-wise, I struggled to love the main characters tbh, I was more invested to Rhett and Kaylee's banters and tension (which is I hope to be the next book because I fell inlove with Rhett 🤭) Daisy and Sawyer's story didn't get interesting for me until the last 30% of the book, it was a slowburn but nothing really burned, it was just slow for me and the insta-love bit felt a bit forced and too rushed. I really want to love them but sadly their story was not for me :(

But I'm still glad I was able to read this one becase it introduced me to Rhett which story I will look forward to!

She’s My Kind of Rain by Ella Embers was the ultimate nostalgic country love story. Set in the early 2000s, I was immediately thrown back into high school while reading this book. The pink cell phone, the wet/dry straightener that we ALL used and fried our hair to a crisp on, the cami/flip flop outfit combos.. this book was such a trip down memory lane. On top of that, the story was SO cute!

We follow Daisy, the newest rep of one of the hottest record labels in Nashville, and Sawyer, a man taking life day by day with no real purpose or direction after losing the most important person in his life. He’s a talented singer, but hasn’t had the opportunity to show this side of himself to the world.. yet.

A chance encounter leaves Daisy witnessing Sawyer’s performance at a local bar.. and the sparks are immediate. She wants to sign him, but their chemistry is undeniable. Will Sawyer choose the music, the fame, or the girl?

This romcom was SO cute, and the friendships and side characters we’re introduced to are so much fun. I’m really looking forward to diving deeper into their stories in the future! I loved the nostalgia and the story is everything us 00s girlies could ever want!

Thank you so much Ella & LoveNotesPR for the ARC!

Had to throw in the towel at 20%. The same paragraphs were repeated over and over in a single chapter—yes, I get it, your dad died, but can we please talk about something else for a second? The pacing was a total mess. It’s a book just over 200 pages long, and the main characters hadn’t even met yet by the time I gave up. What even is that?

The writing didn’t help either—everything was told rather than shown, making it impossible to care about anything that was happening in that slog of a first 20%. The premise had potential, and the cover is adorable, but unfortunately, that’s where my enjoyment stopped. 🙃

This small town country romance is set in the early 2000s.

Daisy’s career path starts off rocky. She loses her job and finds herself taking a chance and working for a giant record label in Nashville. Struggling to find the next up and coming star to prove herself in her new job, that is until she meets Sawyer.

Sawyer is a small town country singer struggling with his confidence looking to make it in the big world. After experience a significant loss and feeling like he has no direction, Daisy gives him a chance to show the world what he’s got.

REVIEW
This cover is to die for! It’s so cute and I just love it so much!

Sawyer and Daisy’s story is in the gorgeous setting of “right place”, “right time”. We learn about Sawyer and Daisy separately, and their journey and struggles before we see them meet.

Ella writes this story beautifully. The connection between Sawyer and Daisy is so sweet. I felt the initial spark of romance was rushed but that is because insta trope isn’t my favourite kind of trope. The development of the other characters we meet along the way is incredible, Ella has really set up the books to follow in this series which I can’t wait for!

I’ve not read an insta love trope before and it was certainly something different. It’s not my choice of trope but putting that aside, this book was such a good read!

If you are looking for a fluffy small town country romance, insta love, and low spice, this book is for you!

Thank you Ella and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thank you so much to Love Notes PR & Ella Embers for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Daisy and Sawyer, whilst growing up miles apart, both have deep loss in common. When Daisy gets let go from her job, she decides to risk it all and move to Nashville to follow her dream of discovering country music stars; whilst Sawyer, spurred on by his best friend, is hopeful to be a country music singer.

This had all of the perfect vibes for me; early 2000s, cowboys and country music! I loved the dual POV and how we saw them both getting to the point of knowing each other and their family roots/connections which led them each to loving music. At around 260 pages, this a great book to pick up for a cosy day.

Their relationship coming across as a ‘this is fate’ kind of style as well had me absolutely swooning at times! Sawyer’s best friend, Rhett, is such a fun character too and I love the way the author conveyed his personality.

The only criticism for me is that the pacing of their romance was off - it seemed quite rushed once they’d finally met & started seeing each other which made the book slightly unbalanced in the overall pace.

Overall, this is a fantastic debut novel from Ella Embers and I really hope there’s more to come from these characters!

ARC REVIEW:

RATING:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TROPES: Workplace romance, Cowboy romance, Singer X Agent, Sunshine X Sunshine, Forbidden romance

I got this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review

This was a really cute insta love romance. I don't typically like insta love but these two were so cute together and I really felt like I could see these two being together forever. They both had so much in common and they share a passion for music that really connects them.

Their story didn't feel really realistic but it had that fairytale essence to it that made me really love their story. Even though this book wasn't very long and it was fast paced, it still managed to make me very invested in the series and the characters. I also loved the southern charm we got in the book, I melted every time they called her Miss Daisy 🫠 I also loved that it was set in the early 2000s, I need to read more books set in earlier time periods

I really hope Rhett and Kaylee get a book because I would love to see their story. I really loved Rhett's character especially and hope we get to see more of him.

My only issues were that the pacing was a little off because the MCs only met after the 50% mark so then it felt a bit rushed with them getting together. I feel like we could have shortened their backstories and the lead up to them meeting and maybe had them get together a little after meeting instead of right away otherwise I really enjoyed their story.

I was impressed for this being a debut novel and I can't wait to see what else the author writes ❤️

As it stands this is still one of my favourite covers I have seen this year I am so inlove with it is so beautiful and captures Sawyer and Daisy’s story perfectly!!

I really enjoyed Sawyer and Daisy’s story it was so different to anything I’ve read before. I loved how it wasn’t just about their relationship we really got to know the MC’s as individuals before they even meet. It isn’t until closer to the halfway mark ( around 38% but don’t quote me on that haha) and yes it’s very insta love and I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I eat that up every single time I read it! 🥰

“Something about this girl has stolen my heart. She’s my kind of rain.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5 stars)

I read She’s My Kind of Rain thanks to my friend Stacey, who got the chance to annotate a copy for the author (and seriously, who could resist that gorgeous cover?).

The book started off so strong, I was immediately drawn in. The writing had great energy, and the story was super fun and engaging. I found myself flying through the first half, really enjoying the characters and pacing.

Around the 50% mark, though, the plot took a turn into insta-love territory, which just isn’t my thing. That shift pulled me out of the story a bit and made the second half less enjoyable for me personally.

That said, I still really liked the book overall, and I think Ella Embers has a lot of potential as an author. I’m definitely planning to read Book 2, I’m already attached to the characters and excited to see where their story goes!

This book was truly a lovely read!🥹 It wasn’t just a typical love story; it really took the time to develop the characters as individuals, allowing readers to get to know them deeply before the romance even started.
I think it’s important to be aware that the main characters don’t actually meet until about 30% into the book, and they only begin truly interacting around the 50% mark.
However, this pacing didn’t take away from the experience at all. 🤭Instead, it felt like a beautiful journey of grief, self-discovery, and understanding why they both chose certain paths—without giving away any spoilers.🙈 I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a heartfelt read. 🥰

A big thank you to Ella Embers & Lovenotes PR for the ARC!🤍

This was my first time reading this author, and I was instantly drawn in by this cowboy-themed story set in the 2000s. With a touch of insta-love, I was hooked right away. The book features found family, a country singer, witty banter, small-town charm, and plenty of romance. The story pulled me in from the start, stirring emotions early on, but as the deeper messages unfolded, I was completely captivated.

Daisy and Sawyer’s journey was absolutely adorable, and they are truly meant for each other. The combination of small-town charm, country music, and forbidden romance made this a sweet and unforgettable read. I’m excited to see more from this author and hope there’s a story about Kaylee and Rhett in the future!

ARC Review : 3 stars ✰

This was such a sweet instalove romance! While I don’t usually enjoy the trope, Daisy and Sawyer were so adorable together that I could easily imagine them lasting forever. Their shared passion for music and all they had in common made their connection feel genuine and heartwarming.

My only turnoff is that the pacing of their romance felt off like when Daisy and Sawyer finally met and started seeing each other, their relationship seemed rushed which made the overall story feel a bit uneven and unrealistic.

Reading “She’s My Kind of Rain” really makes me wish I would’ve been my current age back in the 2000s.

This debut novel is such an incredible work of art. Not only is it a love story with a “what will he choose?” but it has you laughing and even feeling emotional. This book was overall just perfection with the plot over powering the spice!

This book was written with perfection and it was incredible. The cover is beautiful and also I loved the images for the chapter breaks! The detail Ella used was my favorite!

Thanks to LoveNotesPR and Ella for the ARC and I wish you amazing release!

This was an interesting read. I gave it 3.25 stars.

Imma be fully honest, the first thing that grabbed me about this book was the cover as it's stunning and so freaking cute.

This is a short romance book based in the early 2000s although besides the lack of social media, the period didn't matter that much.
Now, what I enjoyed about this book. It had found family with a cute friend group, there were cowboys and both the FMC - Daisy, and the MMC - Sawyer followed their dreams. There was no angst, no slowburn. It was a fluffy read about two characters chasing their dreams and falling in love. Who doesn't love a samll town romance with Dual POVs? Also, the bff-s were fun. I probably like Rhett the most out of all the characters.

Now, for what I didn't like as much in this book. While it's classified as a romance and it is, in its second half, Daisy and Sawyer don't meet until 53% in. THAT'S HALF THE BOOK. And immediatly after that we jump into insta love. At this point I read half a book purely classified as fiction just to sprinkle some insta love in the middle. The author did try to create some tension with the character connecting in different ways before their actual first meeting, but for me it was just... unnecessary.
I also had some issues with how fake the dialogue felt at moments. Both between the MCs and between the MCs and their bffs. It felt too forced, too detailed, like everything needed to be overexplained and I did not enjoy a lot of it.

Overall, I would recommend this book if you need something quick and fluffy to enjoy on a busy day but I would personally not go back to reread.

Thanks to LoveNotesPR and Ella for the ARC and I wish you amazing release!

I love the early 2000 feels, it was cute. But I feel they fell in love far too fast and got intense so quickly? I’m not even a slow burn kinda gal but this was just so fast that I kinda didn’t believe the feelings? I like the idea and I was an easy fast read. Il definitely give the author another go too. But just didn’t like how fast it went in their relationship.
