Sohini Rohra's cancellation of Crown is more than just a memoir. It was a healthy journey that really resonated with me. This is my first autobiography I've read. And it didn't disappoint. Sohini's life story is a raw and inspiring story of recovery, faith, and self-discovery. Her struggles and triumphs From personal tragedy to winning the title of Mrs. India Earth 2023, it is told with unwavering honesty and emotional depth...

What connected with me the most was how Sohini's words made me reflect on my own journey. Her life journey is about self-worth. Her discussion of social / peer pressure and linking self-esteem to external success really connected with me. One quote that has stuck in my mind is: "Dreams do not come with an expiration date. And potential is never completely exhausted.” It's a gentle reminder that growth is not linear. And personal value is never lost...

This book is more than just anecdotes, it's a guide to acknowledging and accept your weaknesses and finding strength in them which just empowers you from within. The affirmations and reflection questions at the end of each chapter urged me to think deeply about my own life, which wasn't a fun ride, but worth it. Sohini's journey inspires me. And your words will stay with me for a long time. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I hope more number of people can get to feel what I felt after reading it.

"Design your own dreams, the canvas is wholly yours”

Cancelled to Crowned is one of the few memoirs that I have read which I can genuinely say is inspiring and truly an amazing read. Sohini through her own personal journey takes the readers on a self-discovery journey to understand that there is a moment in life where one needs to take the courage and have the patience and resilience to step out of our comfort zone and face our challenges.

The book is divided into different chapters, each of which focuses on a significant event in her life and highlights a learning from each of these events. I believe through her anecdotes and experiences, she made us feel as part of her life because they were so relatable, that so many times it was so easy to understand what her struggles were. Her victories felt like personal ones. I loved Sohini’s relationship with her mother, whom she considered as her rock and strength and also credited her mother’s love, and bravery to explore new opportunities and challenges

The main highlight of this book is the simplicity of the language and personal connection that each reader will feel and also in some ways can also be used as a personal guide because at the end of each chapter where you can dive within yourself by trying to find answers to some questions which we don’t really take time to think about. The illustrations are a delightful addition.

Overall, it’s a book that will make you feel good and confident about yourself once you finish reading!

• "𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐃" has the power to inspire hope and love in you. 𝐀 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧. A path of hardships. An adventure to 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. Get yourself together so you can read the author's own column and enjoy a fantastic motivational book. ✨

• 𝐒𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐑 captivates you with her journey, layer after layer. She didn't illustrate what she'd written in her book. Through her journey, she has left a lasting impression on others. She describes her experience here in her writing. How did she make it through? In 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, she chronicled her journey.🍷

• In fact, it is hard to believe that she returns to us as a hero at the conclusion of each chapter. She expresses her feelings honestly rather than transforming her fears into flowery perfume. How we feel during difficult circumstances. She talks about her journey, her aggression, her depression, and her insecurities. The journey from her modeling career to her comeback to Mrs. India Earth 2023 is quite the one.🌙

• Despite the differences in our paths, we eventually find common ground. I felt as though I was stuck at the part where the author talked about her letters to her mother. My mother was the person I always wanted to write to. I have always wanted her to write back to me with her thoughts and needs. Well, let us head back to the pavilion. This book, I believe, helped me realize how easy it is for me to survive in this realm. However, it is so simple to criticize the lives of others.🥂

• There are no other motivational books that can be compared to this one because it teaches you how to sail this life journey safely in addition to helping you believe in yourself. The author writes with fluidity and precision. The author clearly identifies the things we truly need and what we truly fear. She places the incidents where they are needed.💡

Almost 200 pages, this book is the author’s journey from childhood to present- how she navigated the challenges she faced including bullying, abuse, insecurities, speech problems and loneliness.

It’s an honest reflection of how she felt and tackled it. She helps the readers by offering them the ways that helped her and how to be a better person.
Every few pages, she mentions questions that we should ask ourselves that are great journal prompts. With each chapter with her, we progress too and are able to relate to her.

Answering these questions helped me understand myself and know the areas where I needed to work on myself. I would regard this a self help book and would like to suggest to anyone facing similar problems and would like a book to reflect them on their journey

This book radiates purity.

The content has variety: stammering, cerebral palsy, cancer, molestation, bullying, spiritual gurus, death, pregnancy, deformities, marital issues, surrogacy, and self-rediscovery.

The author's checkered life and impassioned writing hold interest. There is a repeated shock value. The content is divided into concise chapters with illustrations and questions for reflection at the end.

This book reinforces the saying that we should not judge a book by its cover. A beauty pageant winner might also have had a very tough life, and reading this book will make you empathise with one such person.

My main takeaway was the concept of codependence and interdependence in a romantic relationship. I had never heard of the term interdependence before, and it switched on a light bulb in my head, which I will carry with me for life.

However, the book also has some glaring drawbacks, such as grammatical errors, random capitalisations, pages full of italics, and a small font size, which obstruct a healthy reading experience.

The author's realisations will resonate with mature readers who have done the work, so I would not say this is a book for all age groups. It is for people who are not just mature in age, but mature in the mind. If you are keen to embark on a path of self-healing, this book is well worth your time.

Cancelled to Crown, the inspiring memoir from Ms. Sohini Rohra, a Counselling Psychologist and Mrs. India Earth 2023 tells it like a bare diary written on emotions with incredible honesty-it has let a reader know that there existed within her a depth of vulnerability, a kind of insecurity.

It relates the story of Sohini changing her weaknesses to stepping stones of growth and emerging like a phoenix to show brilliance and empowerment. Every chapter sums up with concise summary, provoking readers to introspect and reflect on lessons shared. Graphic illustrations in this book are wonderful, not just motivational but aesthetic for those of artistic bent as well.

A tale of survival and triumph-over-adversity; she survived bullying and sexual harassment as a child, lost her mother, faced her daughter's health issues, and had a tough second pregnancy.
A truly refreshing and uplifting read, the book will sure inspire and make a great connection with the reader.

Martin Luther King Jr. once quoted, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase”. “Cancelled to Crowned” is Mrs. Earth India 2023 Sohini Rohra’s deeply personal and inspiring memoir that dives deep into her life from the many challenges she faced to achieve self confidence to how members of her family contributed to many life lessons she built her life on.

The book reflects on Sohini’s experience which is as spiritual as it is life altering. The memoir has frequent acknowledgements to a spiritual Guru whose guidance helped her remained afloat her faith while she overcame the many challenges in her life. I don’t idol worship or have ever been able to see a Guru in any one person. However, being a spiritual person myself, her euphoric experience with attaining awareness in extremely relatable.

It is very easy to be vulnerable and one’s faith in God, Universe or whichever Higher Power they believe in to waiver in difficult situations. However, Sohini’s heartfelt insights offer readers with a blueprint for those who wish to transform their shortcomings into strength and setbacks into success. I liked her metaphorical style of expression. Her words are both deeply introspective and practical, and ultimately emerge with tools to rebuild oneself and ultimately emerge as a winner, “crowned” by their own inner power.

Sohini’s honest story telling reminds me of my most favourite lines from the song Safarnama from the movie Tamasha... “जिसे ढूँढा ज़माने में, मुझी में था, मेरे सारे जवाबों का सफ़रनामा” (the one I had been searching for across time and space, was in fact within me, that is the story of my life journey).

The questions at the end of each chapter will help readers to reflect on their choices, life and thoughts, and will surely guide them into emerging as a more confident human being once they are done reading the book. I simply couldn’t place a finger on any one line to be my favourite quote as every line is so deeply relatable and enlightening!

What is important to learn from this book is that it is not an acknowledgement in the form of a crown that makes you a winner in life. These accolades are representations of hard work you have done to overcome the challenges presented themselves to you. Every little achievement in life is a victory. I highly recommend this book especially to youngsters who have just began their career and have come face to face with responsibilities in life.

Cancelled to Crowned by Sohini is an inspiring memoir that captures the journey of a woman who transforms her life from struggle to success. It’s a story of overcoming personal challenges (stammering), discovering one’s true self (solitude), and ultimately emerging victorious (psychologist and Mrs. India Earth 2023). Sohini takes the readers through the highs and lows of her life with incredible honesty and detail.

Sohini’s story is not just about her. Yes, it’s a memoir, but her journey reflects the struggles we all go through in life. Whether it’s self-doubt, grief, or the fear of failure, we’ve all felt lost at some point. Sohini’s life reminds us that hardships are a part of life, but what truly matters is how we face them and grow through them.

The emotions in the book are truly overwhelming. Sohini writes with such honesty and simplicity that you can’t help but feel connected to her journey. One particular chapter titled “Grief” was extremely moving. It begins with a letter written to her mother, and the emotions in that chapter left me staring into space for a while. And yet, there are chapters that fill you with joy, where Sohini overcomes a challenge or achieves something remarkable. The balance of happiness and sadness throughout the book makes it deeply human and realistic.

Conclusively, Cancelled to Crowned is a powerful and inspiring memoir. It’s about courage, resilience, and never giving up on yourself. The book is not just Sohini’s story but a guide for anyone who is fighting their own battles. It will make you cry, smile, reflect, and ultimately feel hopeful. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a reminder that no matter how hard life gets, you have the power to rise above it. Hope is a beautiful thing, isn't it?

Cancelled to Crowned is a poignant memoir—not just of a successful psychologist crowned as Mrs. India Earth, but of a timid little girl who grew up as an outcast due to her speech issues. It tells the story of a grieving daughter who watched her mother slowly succumb to cancer, a struggling wife and mother navigating postpartum depression, the challenges of conceiving and accepting surrogacy, and the pain of seeing her teenage daughter endure life-altering surgery.
What truly stands out is the author’s writing style. She masterfully explores diverse facets of life, including childhood trauma, coping with a disability, modeling, surrogacy, parenting, anxiety, spirituality, pregnancy, psychology, and more. Each chapter ends with thought-provoking questions, making the book interactive and engaging for the reader.
This life journey is profoundly inspiring and teaches me so much about living with purpose. First, it emphasizes dreaming big—the author, despite her disability, dared to dream of standing crowned on a world stage, a dream she eventually fulfilled. Second, it highlights the importance of working hard while staying self-aware. Her candid reflection on feeling emptiness even after achieving her crown made me realize the importance of seeking a deeper purpose. Her discovery that her true Ikigai lay in helping others is a lesson in using external achievements to serve a greater good. Third, the author’s honesty and openness about sensitive topics like depression, infertility, surrogacy, and mental health are deeply empowering. Her transparency shows how vulnerability can be a source of strength, especially in moments of darkness. Finally, her mention of existential loneliness—the idea that we all face struggles at some point in life—was a powerful reminder that we are not alone, even in our hardest times.
Overall, this story of self-discovery, told with such honesty and depth, is incredibly insightful. It offers not just hope but practical tools for navigating life’s challenges.
P.S. The quotes and artwork at the beginning of each chapter were stunning and added an extra layer of beauty to the reading experience.

It is a groundbreaking tale of being human and thriving in complicated knots of existential intricacies designed uniquely for each person.
Through this short period of holding all the pages together in my hands, I learned an attitude from her, I have also garnered new perspectives on stress, struggles, and other things that may seem like ordinary pains(underneath lies a powerful force that can diminish our worth)

I hate self-help books. Period. Confession
Do I like this book? 100% yes, no lie. I’ll tell you why.

I sat on my desk reading every page, in awe and in pain at the same time. Brutally resonating because it has everything debunked for me, all the issues that are dragging me down which look like mere ordinary pain.

Expansion of the Number of issues in our limited and non-expandable plates

Behind the scenes of making a profile worthy of attention from the common audience, I read it as if I were sitting down for a therapy session.
It is essential to identify personal fundamental problems and break down patterns, and knots of intricate interpersonal trauma. I was listening to a person, a familiar person catching up on overlooked patterns of problems, suggestions on how I can unclog minds filled with unfulfilled personal dreams, desires, and disappointments (which come from society and family, both)

Today, general population of the world is going through common undiagnosed ailment, PTSD, and other faces of Trauma Manifest Disorder. A far cry of my inner child was heard.
The story narrows down as the pages progress. The fundamental layer where the book addresses common concerns everyone pretends to understand and act on yet everyone tends to fail to reach close to a cure (due to lack of proper compensation of the matter or cause)

OUR BODIES DO KEEP SCORES AND THE SCORES GET INHERITED BY THEM, THEN US,
THEN THOSE AFTER US.
This part is where I started tearing up. I left a child in me (my part of responsibility) unattended, and abandoned. I heard a far cry from my past, a cry of horror and helplessness.

Main theme :
A Queen's journey to finding her true crown,Her inner self.

Why you should read once :
Discover how you can make your dreams come to life. And How do you find that urgent desire among thousands of unexpected needs that will really take you to the pinnacle of growth?

We come to a moment in our life when it is necessary to decide which decision is important at this moment in our life? In this way, it can be said that sticking to which decision makes the most sense at the moment?
One such erratic, mixed-impulsive stagnant climate is when we first stumble upon our ikigai. And in a surprising meeting of the two thoughts of 'letting it go' or 'holding it' and the obstacles caused by our own stubbornness and instinctive instincts, one can be easily overwhelmed. How the author keeps herself restrained and calm and plays a leading role in her goal is unprecedented and wonderful. Basically, this book is very special to me basically for this reason.

Extra amenities :
1. There are many deep understandings in life which are given in a very simple way, you can consider them as 'quotes', I think one chapter, which will take a long time to learn by making each mistake, I got the opportunity to learn by reading from this book without losing anything in my life.
2. Many beautiful pictures are provided which make the beginning of each chapter more dazzling and bright with an artistic feel.
Books description :
- 194 pages
- So many illustrations
- Many beautiful lessons of our life like quotes.
- Unraveling headlines which can make readers minds full of mystery.
- A meaningful peculiar white back cover with a small compendium for making the inquisitive mind of every reader.
- Lucid language and complaisance in every word wielded by the author.

My ratings for this book : 4/5

Cue this, you have gone through a lot of shit in your life, every day feels like a new challenge you need to keep fighting, you feel that there is no way out, nobody gets you, you feel all alone, your loved ones are getting only a part of the picture because you are hesitant to hurt them, but then you are angry and filled with unhealed emotions for keeping it all in, even fear of death creeps in at times to a point you are ready to be swept away with it. Well, it feels like torture right ? I know because I have been there, I might not be able to get you either, but maybe reading this book might start you towards the journey to find peace, heal and even hope for a better life.

I know I sound very raw and edgy, but hey, that's real life for every person who is hurting on the inside, and that's where the author is leading us, to go to those dark places, feel those emotions, accept things which are plaguing you, introspect, unlearn dogmatic patterns, grieve, heal and let go.

To be honest, I was expecting an inspiring memoir when I picked this up, but oh boy I was so wrong. Every chapter hit me with feels, as the author takes us on a journey of her pain, love and experiences, introspecting and giving us a nod to do the same with introspective questions to introspect and be in the present moment.

Every chapter had its own unique attribute, touching upon even grassroot moments to build yourself up. You know it was really refreshing when the author acknowledges her weaknesses. I have been in the same boat before where sharing my weakness was taboo, like what's wrong being human ?

I think you get the picture already. This book was an experience period. Now it's up to you to pick it up to read it, but I hope that you really give it a chance as this book is a must read.

Cancelled to Crowned by Sohini is not just a book, it’s an experience that holds the power to rekindle the light within you. At first glance, the cover didn’t capture my interest, and I wasn’t expecting much. But the moment I turned the pages, I was drawn into a world of raw emotions, relentless struggles, and awe-inspiring triumphs. The story of women who faced unimaginable challenges, broke down, and yet rose like phoenixes left me profoundly moved.

This book touched my soul in ways I cannot fully describe. Every word carried a piece of strength, every breakdown mirrored resilience, and every comeback felt like a victory shared. The determination woven through its pages was a beacon of hope, reminding me of the immense power of self-belief and perseverance.

Right now, I am navigating a phase in life filled with uncertainties and self-doubt. Reading this book felt like finding a guiding hand when I needed it the most, when no one is around , when no one is here to listen the sufferings of loneliness, stress , panic attacks , It whispered truths that my heart had forgotten, that failure isn’t the end, but a bridge to success.

It gave me the courage to believe in my worth again, even when everything around felt dark.

The language is deeply emotional, crafted with such intensity . Author's words don’t just speak to you; they embrace you, cry with you, and lift you up when you feel like giving up.

The inclusion of meaningful quotes and thoughtful illustrations added an extra layer of beauty to the book, making it a complete and heartfelt masterpiece.

To anyone who feels lost, broken, or unworthy, I urge you to pick up this book. It’s not just a read—it’s a source of unshakable strength. I am so glad I found it when I m in need. This book is a gift . I can say that , I am ending the year with the faith of new year with new discoveries.

Cancelled to Crowned is a memoir by Sohini through which she has shared her journey from shyness to crowned Mrs. India Earth 2023. She has included her personal struggles, victories, and the hard walk towards self-discovery and empowerment. Sohini shares vivacious but candid reflections of the struggles and experiences she came along during which the lessons got learned.

Sohini's character development takes the center stage in the narrative. It depicts a process of transformation in character-this young shy, reserved girl turning into a fully grown, mature, empowered woman. The growth is well portrayed, making it completely authentic, which relates to and inspires the audience. Besides, the book also introduces other important persons in her life who shaped Sohini and adds more layers to her story. I really loved how Sohini was able to cope up with her stuttering and her experience after going to the Art Of Living International Centre in Bangalore.

Sohini's writing style is quite engaging and heart-warming. There is a particular part in the book which really made me cry and that is the letter which she wrote to her mother after she died of cancer. She writes in raw honesty and makes her readers connect with her personally. Her background as a psychologist brings in an additional factor of introspection and insight to the writing, which is reflective as well as educative. The clear and simple prose makes it easy for readers to read through her journey.

I would recommend Cancelled to Crowned to anyone looking for a good, motivational read that makes one think. Whether one is interested in personal development, psychology, or even just memoirs, this book contains a wealth of insights and a great story about resilience and empowerment. Sohini's journey serves as a reminder that, with determination and self-belief, one can scale any obstacle and dream quite boldly.

"𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒎𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒓. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒕."

This memoir is both a heart wrenching and uplifting book, a soul-searching exploration. I’ve read a lot of fiction books and have felt strongly about characters but this memoir, deeply etched in my heart. It made me cry at times and believe in hope.

The author is the type of woman whom every reader could aspire to be. She is the heroine of her own story through everything she's been through. She has loved, endured, lost and most importantly she survived every storm. Her writing was beautiful and the feelings expressed were so real and spot on when it comes to love & grief. It is also a story about healing and the love she had for her family.

The chapters are short and the topics are engaging. It's a genuine, moving, inspiring book. There was something in her story and her writing that spoke to me. Her writing and description of her experiences is captivating, and her ability to share her innermost thoughts on spirituality were inspiring.

There's nothing complex about the way this book is written, it's very straightforward as far as language and style go. The emotions are described beautifully. What a beautiful story about finding happiness and contentment in the craziness of the world. She gave me hope that I'll someday find the same calm. My favorite part of the book was the letter she wrote to her mom.

This book is all about self enlightenment. It is deep, but the author is really good at making it interesting. This is a book for people who are a little lost in life, looking at other people's success stories of finding peace with themselves in their world. It helps you to be grateful for what you have and if you have nothing, it leads you to find it.

From Cancelled to Crowned is a riveting autobiography of Sahini Rohra that vividly shares the ups and downs of her life while depicting how she pulled herself together after repeatedly falling apart.

Throughout the narration, faith plays an important role especially due in part to its prominent place in the healing process. At times, the memoir cuts straight through the heart, and pushes all your buttons – emotional ones, in rare moments such as the author’s letter to her mother. Readers will feel the strength of these emotional waves even though they may not share exactly the same life situation as Rohra.

The dimension of the books that would stand out most among others is its level of interactivity from the reader. There’s a quote on every chapter at the start and an affirmation statement at the end of the chapter that the reader can journal about afterward. In a way, they are encouraged to work on themselves while appreciating the art of storytelling, thus the book is not a one sided read.

The writing that is very personal. A narrative style that is interesting, insightful, and reflective: such are the qualities of the musings of Rohra on the hurdle crossings in her life. Her ability to connect what she has experienced to an action plan makes this book both inspiring and practical. End.

Cancelled to Crowned is a memoir that stamps a lasting impression on the heart. Its raw truths and relatable storytelling make it a must-read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of resilience and personal growth. This book is sure to inspire readers to take on their own journey of introspection and transformation.

A highly recommended read, especially for those who may not usually gravitate towards memoirs or self-help books—it might just change your perspective, as it did mine.

"Changing our inner narrative is vital. It transforms our thoughts, empowers us to shift our focus from victimhood and embrace the superpower of perspective."

"Cancelled to Crowned" by Sohini is a captivating memoir that chronicles the author's inspiring journey. From struggling with a stammer and her mother's cancer diagnosis to becoming Mrs. India Earth 2023 and a successful counseling psychologist, author's story is a testament to resilience and determination.

Why I like this book:-

This book talks about how she overcame immense challenges and found her inner strength.

The book not only inspires readers to face their own struggles with courage but also provides practical strategies for building resilience and embracing their inner beauty.

The letter she wrote to her late mother left a profound impact on me. It was so heartfelt and filled with sorrow. Her words carried a raw, aching love that made me feel the depth of her pain and longing.

The spiritual aspects of the book also resonated with me deeply. They felt like gentle reminders to connect with myself and the universe, something l've been yearning to do.

Happiness Therapy by The Art of Living, which the author mentioned. I absolutely loved the concept.

This book is more than just a memoir, it's a guide to self-love and healing. Sohini's journey is a beautiful reminder that true beauty lies within, and her courage to embrace life, even through personal tragedies, is deeply inspiring.

Whether you're looking for encouragement, guidance, or simply a moving story, "Cancelled to Crowned" offers a powerful message of hope and transformation.
It's a must-read for anyone seeking to overcome life's challenges and discover their true potential.

𝒴𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓈𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒹𝒶𝓌𝓃 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑒

Cancelled to Crown is a memoir about Sohini's journey from a young, stammering girl to a shining confident queen. By sharing her struggles and hardships, the author wants to encourage readers to embrace their own challenges with courage.

The author's journey through self-discovery, resilience, perseverance and faith is very inspiring. It emphasizes that your healing is your own responsibility. While seeking help is important at times, what matters most is recognising the need to heal rather than suppressing your emotions.

Faith emerges as a vital element in the healing process, woven throughout the memoir. The belief in oneself and something greater helps guide us through the most challenging times. The memoir is heartbreaking at times — especially the author's letter to her mother — but even if you don’t relate to every experience, you'll undoubtedly feel the full range of emotions it conveys. It delivers powerful messages about healing and empathy that will resonate with everyone.

For me, it evoked many uncomfortable emotions that will require introspection and time to process. Often, we don’t realize what we’re going through until we confront it directly. At the end of each chapter, the book offers reflective questions for readers to explore their own healing journey. However, since everyone’s pain and suffering are unique, it’s important to remember that what works for one person may not work for another. Give yourself the space to make mistakes, and don’t feel pressured to treat any guide as a one-size-fits-all solution.

I could say much more about this incredible book, but I'll stop here and leave you to reflect on your own self-discovery. If you’re considering reading this, I’d say—go for it.

Sohini Rohra, counselling psychologist and Mrs. India Earth 2023 brings a beacon of light to anyone looking for inspiration in this part self help, part memoir of a book. She very frankly opens up about her life right from childhood when she felt not accepted in society due to her stammer which led her to become shy to her experiences of grief to various ups and downs in her family life. She talks about what motivated her to take up the pageant, how she empowered herself to come out of her self doubt to being an independent and confident woman. Each chapter starts with beautifully illustrated pictures which is super creative.

The book is filled with Sohini’s raw honesty about how she coped with difficult life situations, she is not shy to admit where she must have been wrong and what mindset she adapted or support she sought that helped her overcomes those challenges. She very gracefully articulates all her emotions and vulnerability making the reader feel at ease with her story. She time and again recounts the need to identify oneself and find one’s inner beauty. There are also a series of questions for introspection at the end of each chapter thoroughly showcasing her psychologist background which makes the book very endearing and adds values to it. Sohini has a very refreshing take on certain subjects such as balance between spirituality and rationality and also emphasises the need for self compassion as the main ingredient to sail through life’s challenges. There are times when the book feels a bit repetitive and deviates from just being a memoir to being too preachy which may not appeal to some readers. However that being said it is a very introspective and good read.

n this beautifully serene memoir, the author has shared her journey of spirituality and faith, emphasizing on the fact that spirituality and rationale paired together are essential for a balanced and fulfilled life. She shares her life stories and anecdotes, which filled me with inspiration and reminded me that resilience is a skill that needs to be developed by facing the truth with all the courage we have, and not by practicing escapism. The author has included so many prompts in her chapters that pushed me to dig deeper, peep into my conscience and test my self-awareness. I believe the prompts would be helpful to anyone who is eager to explore spirituality and gain deeper knowledge about self, but for me it did something unexpected and unpleasant. It opened up old, unhealed scars and revealed a new chapter of grief that I thought that I had gotten over. Some of her stories hit a bit to hard, reminded me of old losses well, so well that I am feeling those old feelings all over again. For the same reason I could not end up finishing the book, because I knew pushing myself to finish it would take a huge toll on my mental health. I would have to fight old battles once again to get back to where I am right now, and I am not ready to do that.
Some of her prompts felt a bit problematic to me- some urge the reader to compare themselves with someone else in order to find a solution to something. Although this is not completely wrong, the habit of comparing self to someone else can stick as a toxic one, and it is not an easy one to get rid of. The stories are wholesome, heart-wrenching and are sure to bring water to eyes of most readers. It’s a good book to pick up, quite inspiring, it was just not for me.

A window to someone's raw self 🤍✨️
.
Memoirs is the genre of books that hits different because of so many reasons but more so because the story we are reading did come true.
The struggles of our protagonist culminated into success and maybe that's the reason why the victory feels so personal.
It's an ode to the journey, the sleepless nights and the chaos of life that resulted into a dream come true.

Sohani Rohra is exceptionally candid and raw in the pages of this book and welcomes the reader into the deeest corner of her soul.
She is the flagbearer of mental health awareness and goes to lengths to feel everyone accepted and safe.

Challenges make us more than they break us only if we have the courage to stand up and walk forward after every hit and Sohini did that again and again.
Her story is painfully relatable and immensely inspiring for this very reason.

She also talks at length about her personal struggles as a daughter and as a mother, both of which made her go through the toughest of times. But undoubtedly, we would break any barrier whatsoever for our loved ones.

The underwhelming aspect of the book was the overall evolution of the narrative. The shift from one phase of one chapter to other felt bit abrupt and I was really looking forward to the source of her core princples throughout the book, a peek into her childhood and teenage that helped her shape her personality could have made the overall narrative more wholesome.

Sohini was exceptional in never loosing her zeal for life & it's offerings that's why I'm deeply inspired by this book.

Pick it up when you are having second thoughts about your dream, when you need to sprang back on track to your goal.

Much recommended.
