For some reason, this was starting good, then idk it just felt off..

We have Dolly, who's traveling she doesn't have parents who care of an ex who doesn't want her. She wants to have adventures, and she does little. Does she know she got a stalker on her adventure. He doesn't make himself known yet he just watches from the shadows. Until the time is right.
Then he drugs and kidnaps her. Dolly does push away and tries to run once.. but then she just goes along with everything. Which I love, but I wish she tried a little harder to run away.

Lars, he was a big ol perve lol. I didn't feel anything really towards him. He was OTT, but it was okay.


No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, no virgins

Hmmm, idk, I guess it was meh??? 😅

It was captive romance all right, and tbh, I didn't get the sudden 180 of Dolly. For the most part, she didn't want to do anything with Lars, but around the 65%-ish mark, I think, she finally decided to give in to the physical attraction. 🫠

It just didn't make sense to me at all, and it made me wonder if I missed anything because the sudden change of heart caught me off guard. But idk, maybe she does feel something for him and was just being in denial. 🤷‍♀️

I just can't buy what they have, and the lack of chemistry between them really didn't make things any better. They're kind of bland together, and not even the smut was smutting. 🫣 But idk maybe that's just me and others might find those scenes titillating. 🤔

With that being said, it just didn't work for me. But other readers might find this more up their alley. And, I'm rounding this up because I liked the epilogue.

This started off good and was entertaining in a dark twisted way then it all just fizzled out… I know this is a novella but we didn’t know enough about the characters especially Lars and the FMC didn’t know much about him either even towards the end. There were also some
Typos throughout which was disappointing.

It was an okay novella, just 'okay', considering Jenika Snow's standards.
She usually goes all out but I felt some passion was missing in this one... I needed a little more: a little more character depth, especially from Lars, the Hero. We barely got any background info about him (who is he? why is he so obsessed with Dolly? what's his past? where did he meet Dolly first?) so I felt a little disconnected.
The smut was hot, but still, not the best considering JS can provide some of BEST smut in romance IMO.

The moments in this book that made raise my eyebrows….made it so worth it.

The story takes place with Dolly, our FMC, decided to go away on a month getaway trip to Europe caught the eyes of our MMC, and she doesn’t event know it. Lars knew from the moment he laid eyes on Dolly, that he knew he had to have her and is not gonna let her go.

This novella by Jenika Snow is a great read for any dark romance lovers looking for a great novella that will have you wanting to read until the very end.

First time reading Jenika Snow and will definitely NEED to read more!!!

Recommend reading the trigger warning before picking up as this book contents mature content.

This is a Jenika Snow book. Do I need to say more... okay.

I have read most of Jenika Snow's books, and they never disappoint. She is such a great writer, and this is no exception.

Stalker level: 3000
If you're looking for an excellent stalker/captive story, this is just perfect for you. I love how this one captive tries to fight it at first, but then she completely falls for him. A bit of a spoiler coming up: I will say, though, that I was surprised that at no point does she ever tell him, "I am yours," but she shows it instead. This is a bit of a shocker to me.

It was a great story, I loved the woods chapter, it was the best for me to be honest.

I give this book a five-star rating, cause I loved it and will definitely read it again and again and again.

If you are looking for a captor/captive stalker with dark k!nk$ in a short story then look no further! This book is for you!

When Ms. Snow was teasing little glimpses of this story I could NOT wait to read it. Ms. Snow was gracious enough to let her Patreon members read it before the final edits were in. And I can say I could not stop reading until I was finished! As expected, this does have a lower angst level between Dolly and Lars since it is a short story. Don't get me wrong, I love angst in my captor/captive romances, but it was refreshing to read a different take on it. I sincerely hope that Ms. Snow either turns this into a full-length book or re-visits this couple later when a "problem" comes up- I guess like a marriage-in-trouble sequel. I would love to see more of Dolly & Lars! I love them together!

Une silhouette sombre était assise sur une chaise en face du lit où je me trouvais. Il était évident qu'il s'agissait d'un homme vu sa taille. J'avais le souffle coupé et mon cœur battait si fort. Un autre type de malaise m'envahissait alors que je me concentrais sur lui.

Il était assis là, à me regarder. Les ombres qui l'entouraient, créées par l'obscurité et le clair de lune, lui donnaient un air menaçant, voire maléfique.

Nous n'avons pas parlé et je n'ai certainement pas bougé, pas seulement parce que je me sentais mal, mais parce que j'étais terrifiée.

La panique et la terreur m’envahirent parce que je le connaissais .

J'avais vu cet homme plusieurs fois, me demandant s'il m'observait. Il me suivait . Et la façon dont il m'observait donnait l'impression qu'il savait exactement qui j'étais.

Il ne bougeait pas, ne parlait pas et continuait simplement à me regarder, comme s'il attendait quelque chose .

La peur m’envahissait comme un poids froid et étouffant sur ma poitrine, rendant la respiration encore plus difficile.

Qui es-tu ? J'ai réalisé que je n'avais fait que murmurer ces mots dans ma tête.

J'ai essayé de me relever, mes mains tremblantes alors que je forçais mon corps à obéir, car je serais damnée si je restais impuissante sur ce lit. Mais avant que je puisse bouger de plus de quelques centimètres, il s'est penché en avant et je me suis figée.

L'air semblait s'épaissir, chargé de quelque chose de dangereux et d'inquiétant. Et tout cela émanait de cet homme.

« Que veux-tu ? » C'était tellement stupide de dire ces mots, étant donné qu'il était clair qu'il m'avait amené ici… où que ce soit… parce que j'étais ce qu'il voulait. Mais pour quoi exactement, je ne le savais pas.

« Je t'ai vu », répondit-il finalement, sa voix basse et profonde et la chose la plus effrayante que j'aie jamais entendue.

Mes yeux semblaient plus grands que mon visage lorsque ce ton s'est installé. Et même si je savais déjà ce qu'il venait de me dire - ainsi que les deux choses suivantes qu'il a dites - l'entendre les dire à voix haute a envoyé une onde de choc dans mon système.

« Je te voulais. »

Un frisson parcourut tout mon corps.

« Et donc je t'ai emmené. »

La finalité de ses paroles et la manière calme avec laquelle il les prononçait me glaçaient le sang.

« Je ne te donnerai pas de douceur ni de tendresse, ni pour la première fois, ni par la suite. Tu vas le prendre durement et durement parce que c'est ce que j'aime, et à la fin de tout ça… tu finiras par vouloir me faire plaisir. »

J'étais essoufflé, des sons durs me quittaient, parce que je ne pouvais pas me contrôler à ce moment-là.

Je n'arrive jamais à me contrôler en présence de Dolly.

« Supplie-moi, » demandai-je. « Supplie-moi de te baiser comme un animal, petite chérie. »

La joue contre sa poitrine, je fermai les yeux et me préservai du vertige provoqué par mon orgasme. Je sentis ses doigts parcourir mon dos en mouvements lents et rythmés qui commencèrent à m'endormir.

C'est alors que j'étais au bord de l'inconscience que j'ai senti son souffle chaud contre le sommet de ma tête avant d'entendre son murmure dur.

Прошу пам'ятати, що всі дії/події, описані в книзі, є лише видумкою, і це ніяким чином не наштовхує на нормалізацію такої поведінки.

Зазвичай дарк-романи подають з таким описом, щоб ми розуміли, що головна героїня сама бажає певних «протизаконних» дій, але тут я цього не відчувала. Мені тупо вайбило якимось трукраймом, і в моїй голові, як це зазвичай буває, навіть не випливали оціночні бали. Але потім жгг ніби то як і не виступала дуже проти дій чгг і відчувала до нього бажання, проте це не відміняє мого початкового враження від їхньої взаємодії (я вважаю, що внутрішнє бажання жгг зумовлене виключно тим, що все своє життя їй не вистачало любові і турботи, тому через незнання вона плутає хвору одержимість і свої істинні бажання, але це дарк-роман, і я не психолог, тому не будемо так заглиблюватися у психологічні розбори їхніх особистостей).

Ларс у своїх діях керувався лише своїм членом. Так, він втирав нам, що хоче почуттів Доллі, її відданості, але на ділі я помічала лиш бажання «змочити член». Я не кажу, що він погано ставився до неї (ну наскільки це можливо у їхній ситуації). Ларс був досить уважний і турботливий, але на місці Доллі я все-таки би відчувала певні побоювання до нього і ставилася з більшою обережністю.

Доллі, я би сказала, досить таки сильна героїня, бо, не дивлячись на певний тиск зі сторони Ларса, вона трималася своєї позиції і давала йому відпір. Не дуже то і довго, але шо вже маємо 😂. Мене радувало, що її не прописали як тупу, крикливу жертву: всі свої дії вона робила зважено.

Книга написана досить непогано, звісно, хотілося би більше деталей, але так як це новела, то цього не я і не очікувала.

А ще мені дууууже цікаво, звідки в них гроші на життя 😂. Я теж хочу жити в лісі і просто мати гроші. (Я написала цю нотатку, не дочитавши, і тут бац — авторка вирішила пояснити теорію безкінечних грошей в епілозі. Я — лох 😂).

This is a deliciously dark and twisted HOT and steamy page-turning,captive/captivity, kidnapping, obsession, possessive stalker romance between Lars and Dolly. Dolly is looking for an escape from a lifetime of abuse and neglect from her family and her boyfriend. She wants some freedom so she decides to go on a European adventure not knowing how this trip will change the rest of her life. Lars is a morally grey psychopath who spots Dolly in passing and immediately knows that she's his and that he's found his queen. He changes his plans so that he can stalk Dolly nothing is more important. Dolly senses that someone is watching her but then she second guesses herself especially since Lars let her see him a few times. Lars although a psychopath really cares for Dolly and he treats her better than anyone in her life ever has because he lives for her. Lars even told Dolly that after he took her from her cottage to her new home the one that he made for them. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this deliciously dark and twisted HOT and steamy, captive/captivity, kidnapping, obsession, possessive stalker romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book and if you've read Jenika Snow before then you know how well she writes dark alpha-males who are more than they seem. As well as being a great writer of the stalker/captivity genre.

I’m very conflicted about this book. First off, I’ve read stalker stories in the past and I’ve enjoyed them. This one put me off for a few reasons. Also I try to do reviews without spoilers or vague ones. I found it hard to do with this book. I did give it the amount of stars I did because the story is well written and does a great job of giving us the characters thoughts which is the only reason I read the whole thing

One, aside from the fact that Lars cares about her (in a very very psychopathic twisted way) I didn’t find him to have any redeeming qualities until the epilogue.

Second was Dolly herself. I really liked how this book began. She’s abused by her family and then by her only boyfriend but she finds the courage to leave and tour Europe by herself. The story then describes her travels and the wonder she finds in it all. Then Lars abducts her and her courage goes out the window. Even when she decided to run (the only time) she pretty much gave in the minute he caught her.
SPOILER he even starts cutting her during sex after he catches her and she finds herself turned on almost more than she’s disgusted by it
Then right away she’s safe with him and she’s never leaving. Som

Some reviews found the only good part the epilogue. I found the news shared in the epilogue alarming. These two should be the last 2 people to have a family.

This was…fine but I kinda wished this wasn’t a novella actually and that we did get more backstory and development. As there were things glossed over that I felt could’ve been explored more potentially ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I last read from Jenika last year with Suck & Blow and that left me feeling in no rush to read from her again anytime soon. That was a bit of let down for me BUT her novellas do always do what they set out to do 👍🏻.

This didn’t hang around or outstay it’s welcome it got down to the basics of what it was about. Dolly is the broken/lost girl looking for adventure and Lars is the psycho stalker who wants her all to himself. And that’s that basically. It’s spicy and erotic and dark and overall it was ok but nothing memorable. I would say it’s a good palette cleanser for those who need that quick dark romance fix, and if you’re trailing behind on your reading goal (which I am 😅).

It’s not my favourite Jenika Snow book but it did enough for me to not dnf and it gave me my spice fix so there’s that 😙😊.

Of COURSE Jenika Snow can make me swoon over a crazy, OTT, stalker who straight snatches the FMC.

Dolly needs a break from her everyday life. Her parents have always treated her like garbage so it's no wonder she ended up falling for a guy that also treats her badly. She's had enough of everyone manipulating her and putting her down. So she decides to run away from it all and go on a solo trip across Europe, leaving everyone and everything behind.

Lars sees Dolly and immediately knows he wants to make her his, no matter what he has to do to make it happen. He's not a normal guy, doesn't abide by the rules of normal society, and he doesn't care. The only thing that matters is locking down his, Little Darling.

Jenika never disappoints me. This story was interesting, sexy, wild, and an easy read. The obsession the MMC has with the FMC is the kind of read flag only dark romance girls can appreciate. This man was unhinged in the SEXIEST of ways. If Jenika writes it will read it, periodt.

Twisted and Cute

This is a deranged meet cute with captor and captive as the two main characters.

I didn’t really like the choice of the FMC’s name as I didn’t feel that it fit the personality of her character. Perhaps. Megan or Lily? She had a tough upbringing and basically picked a boyfriend with the same demeaning characteristics as her parents. I liked that she broke the cycle and got away.

The MMC, Lars, I could visualize as this character and with this shorter story he had could had been depicted as a psychopath with a soft side that wanted to care and love her. I liked how his character was presented as driven, but caring.

When Lars, our morally grey MMC, first sees Dolly, he's instantly obsessed and decides to take her, whisking her away to a cottage where no one will find them.

I loved this book. It was kinda of a slow burn but it worked. i didn't get bored at all, the story was well written, and I feel like their relationship transitioned perfectly, and I believed in their relationship.
Lars saw Dolly, and he wanted her, so he took her , simple as that. He was obsessed, and he stalked and hunted her so patiently, and my girl Dolly accepted her fate once she realised that Lars was never gonna let her go. I had so much fun reading this and boy was the spice good too. I only wish Dolly had gotten revenge on those people from her past but im glad she is free, and she got her HEA

This story will pull you in, thrill you, and keep you guessing! I loved it.

I can always count on Jenika Snow's books to fill that void when I need something that covers all the tropes—you know, “those” tropes? And Jenika covers most of them in “Little Darling.” The setting is Romania, where a trip for funsies evolves into an unfortunate event for Dolly. And Lars is not going to let her go.

Lars has all the makings of the Alpha that Jenika does so well at creating. She knows what her readers like. The steamy scenes are very detailed and descriptive. And some have a bit of edge to them as well. I liked this story a lot.

I loved it. Morally grey stalker but he knew what he wanted and it was her. When she realized what was going on and came to terms with it all was so sweet. She understood the misunderstood man she gave him a chance and trusted him. The way their relationship developed was nice and it might have had a rocky start but it became solid in the end. I like how everything is revealed in the end about his thoughts and how his plan was made. It is very well written i loved it couldn't put it down. I love Lars, he is over protective, don't touch what's mine

This story has a dark, twisted, addictive story line. But it was hands down a great read.
Lark noticed Dolly and was instantly obsessed with her. He knew he would make her his, but she just needed to realize that herself. He had it all planned out, even the kidnapping.
Dolly had a feeling she was being followed, but never expected the outcome she received. At first she hated Lark, even though she was attracted to him. But it didn't take much longer for those feelings to grow and for her to realize Lark truly caes for her, even in his strange own way.
