Honestly, I did not love this book. I have issues with "Insta-Love" books. They were together less than 2 days when she was already thinking about moving in with him and they were "making love". I just need a little history I guess because I can't feel the love between the characters without it. I did like the idea of the book and I did like the way it ended. Maybe if it were longer I would have enjoyed it more. The main character Chloe was all over the place, she started out fun and ready to enjoy her night out (pink hair & all), then she seems like she should be a little older & professional, then she's taking chances and sexing it up with a guy she's known 1 day (not that I mind that lol). I just couldn't get a grasp on who she really was, was she young and fun, was she professional and stuffy or was she secretly a little wild?
The narration for this book was really good, but I don't think the voice fit the character, that may have only been because I couldn't decide what kind of person Chloe was. The narrator really did do a great job and I would like to listen to other books with her narrating.

This is a quick novella that has everything between laughter, sadness and hot chemistry. These two characters’ will have to overcome their past issues; will have to overcome the tragedy that comes to them but no matter what there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Since Ms. St. Claire starting her writing career I have loved her work. Her writing is always captivating and it flows so beautifully. Once I started reading this short novella I couldn’t put it down and I wanted for it to just keep going. I love erotic stories especially one’s that I get lost in.
Chloe Howard and Flynn Davis both have a horrible past but it seems that they are ready to move on with their lives. So when Chloe needs to go to her friend’s bachelorette party she can’t believe what she needs to wear. So what does she do if her friend can tell her what to wear how about dying her hair pink. Flynn had broken up with his girlfriend and it been months since he had a serious relationship. So when his friends make him a bet of $200 dollars he agrees. When his friends choose pink haired girl he’s all in. They both think they know each other but they don’t say a word. Before you know it they are all over each other and they go to his place. I could not believe how Flynn was the perfect gentlemen and didn’t take advantage of her.
Chloe can’t believe how dumb she was he betted on her but before you know it Flynn is seeking her out. Chloe and Flynn have this chemistry from the very beginning and they could have the perfect relationship. It seemed that they were meant for each other and their relationship seemed to take off. They were practically living together but yes there’s a but it can’t go so smoothly. Of course something needs to happen before they are able to have their happily ever after. Not only does she overhear a conversation but something bad happens to her and its going to be a long road to recovery. Will she be the same woman that he fell in love with or will she never be the same again? Will he be able to touch her again and see her with a twinkle in her eye?
Consolation Prize was a wonderful read. It was an erotic read but it also had its sweet, warm-hearted moments. I know that I rooted for these two characters to be happy together and I rooted for Penelope to find a loving home. Maybe I should explain who Penelope is she’s a cat that was left at Chloe’s clinic because she had a sensitive stomach. I felt so bad for her but then she meets Simon, Flynn’s dog. Oh boy did they had a nice meet and greet!! The characters were well developed and the dialogue was perfect. Now as for the chemistry between these two characters was hot, hot and did I say hot. They are so in tune with each other that it seems that sparks fly from the moment that their lips touch.
I totally recommend this read to all readers that love a good erotic romance story. Believe me this novella will captivate you from the beginning but you will never expect everything that happens. These two will have their happily ever after.

Flynn Davis's friends bet him 100 dollars that he can't get a woman to go home with him from Moody's Bar. Chloe Howard arrived home early from a business trip to find her boyfriend cheating on her. Having to go to a bachelorette party in a outfit designed by the bachelorette herself Chloe decides to change her look so know one will recognize her. Flynn's friends pick the lady with pink hair and a skirt that barely covers anything as his woman for the bet. What was supposed to be a hook up turns into so much more.
When Chloe "Monique" disappears on him Flynn sets out to track down the gorgeous woman. Never thinking she would turn out to be the vet that takes care of his horses. Chloe is surprised when Flynn found her however she doesn't have time for anything other than work. Flynn pursues her until she gives in and goes out with him. Their attraction to each other is deeper than either expected but will work, family and ex's keep them apart?
I loved this book I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Another great story from Abbie St.

This is the second book I have read by Abbie St. Claire and I must say, I am now a total fan girl. This tale is steamy, easy to read, contemporary, and immensely enjoyable. I wish I knew this couple as I’d like to be friends with them, they seem like fun. The only thing I can find to complain about is that I wanted it to keep going. I wanted more of the same and was sad to reach the end. Looks like I will just have to go one-click some more delectable Abbie St. Claire stories to keep from pouting.

The intensity between these two is awesome! This was the first time I have read a book by the author and it certainly will not be the last!

This was a great short read. Love at first sight and two people who don't know if they can trust their feelings. After an accident can Chloe see that Flynn loves her? And will they get their HEA? I recommend this one if you like short reads that keep you wanting to turn the page!

This one was not for me. I think it moved just far too quickly from "she looks nice" to "she is the love of my life" and I just couldn't move that quickly without a bit more buildup and information.
The writing was vivid and descriptive but sometimes a little clumsy and obvious for me - I think if you were very stressed/distracted it would be an easy read but I found it just a bit too in your face and not subtle enough in the descriptions or the storyline.
It is a simple story, girl and boy meet, like each other, have dramas, ends. There was nothing particularly engaging about either of the main characters as they seemed a bit bland and simple and not very aware of others. Not for me but I can see how it might appeal to others. I will say it was short which was good as I started to want to have it done pretty early on and I don't like to not finish a book.

I am trying to figure out how I missed this book!
I enjoy Abbie's books and this one did not disappoint. A perfect diversion.
Chloe and Flynn find love the night they least expect it. The story alternated their points of view and I loved getting into Flynn's head. I always love Abbie's heroes and Flynn was no exception.
This title is included in the Wedding Dreams anthology - I passed all the others to read Abbie's first

First the meet to love forever aspect moved way too fast. Second there is a lot of telling in the story. The characters are okay, but lack depth. The plot is okay, but rushed. Overall, the book needs to be revised and edited.

This could also make another great office erotic movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

WOW I love, love this book, I love the characters, and how the book turn out to be, this boo finish way to fast for me, I remember picking the boo up and reading, and the next thing I know is that their is no more page to turn, I wanted to read more, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away, ad since it is a short story.
The book begging with Chloe, she is a veteran, she love working with animals, she spend more time on her job than at home, that's how she met him at first, when she got a call from one of the farm, letting her know that one of the horses where acting up, she decide to go their, while she walking the horse around she notice two man staring at her, when she set down on the bench, they came over and introduce themselves, that's when she met Flynn, she did not think she will see him again, but everything change when her friend bachelorette party, Flynn was at the bar with his friends, when they made the bet about getting him a girl for the night, when they pick the person he notice who it was, the only thing different was that she gave him a fake name, and her hair was pink, but what will happened after that night, when the truth comes out, will they work it out or leave it as a one night stand.

The author has created a short tale about two heart-hardened souls that have burned by their exes and are afraid of giving their hearts away again, both believing they are destined to never find true love. Chloe, a veterinary, has avoided the local bar like the plague thanks to her ex, but when the only other "single" in their group of friends is getting married and decides to have her bachelorette party there, and is calling all the shots, right down to what each of her attendees are to wear, how can you fight it? Flynn has been laying low as far as the ladies go after his longterm relationship went sour when his ex decided she wanted pageants over his love and hopes for a family, but when his friends make a bet with him, he's hard pressed to turn it down. When these two are thrown together, sparks fly. The instant attraction will lead to a fast paced series of events that may or may not be enough to keep them together.

This story is so beautiful! While listed as an erotic romance, it is much more than that. It is a story of love and hope and determination. Yes it has it's erotic times too, but it also made me laugh, made me cry, Kept me on the edge of my seat at times and even made me feel humble. So there are so many emotions in this short story! For being small, it really packs a wallop!
The author, Abbie St Claire does a superb job on this story. Her writing style is unique and she has a way of making you feel everything she writes! It is a rare thing when you feel each emotion like you are there! It is a fantastic story too! The narrator Pamela Peters once again does a fabulous job on the delivery of this book! She has a smooth, warm way with her voices that make me feel at home while I listen to them. I love all her voices, accents and emotions she puts into her voices! The two together are explosive! Great job ladies!

I enjoyed this short novella. Everything was faced paced and things happened quickly. I like a quick read but sometimes when I really like one it just makes me want more background to the story.
Chloe is a vetenarian and hasnt been in a relationship for 3 years after she caught the only person she loved, cheating on her, so with that she said she was done with men, until she meets the handsome Flynn.
Flynn is a investor and big in commercial construction and he first sees Chloe at Stuttgart Farms but thinks nothing of it.
They then meet at Moody's where they haven't recognized each other. They go back to Flynn's and from there everything happens so fast.
It's like a condensed version of a full novel. It had its ups and down and everything in between. I always love a man POV and Flynn's POV wasn't disappointing either.
I was happy to see the end result but I would love to read a full version of this book.

I would love to give this book a 4 Star rating, but I just can't. Consolation Prize was well written, grammar-wise, but it didn't seem like a full story. The story line seemed really rushed and the characters could have been a bit more developed. I think the author, Abbie St. Claire, could've used the time within all the gaps to let us get to know the characters better and give them more depth. I was left feeling like I missed something, ya know?
Overall, Consolation Prize was a good story and the author had the right idea with it. I just would rather have had it been "beefier".

Abby St. Claire has done it again. Chloe is happy with her life as a vet but knows that her life is missing something. Nothing hammers that home like an e-vite to a bachelorette party for the last of her single friends. After being burned by the love train once Chloe is in no hurry to mount that ride again. Flynn has also been burned by love and wants nothing more than to live a nice peaceful life. His friends invite him out and knowing he can’t turn down a bet him that he cannot take a girl home with him. This little bet turns out to be the best thing to happen to both Flynn and Chloe. Theirs is a whirlwind romance but is definitely not without its trying times and doubts. This story is wonderfully written and helps to inspire the thought that rue love really is out there.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book which might be why my rating is so low. A female did the narration for they whole book. Although many people can pull off doing both male and female voices this narrator could not. It really ruined the book. As her male voice was more feminine than my voice. It felt like it made the book a joke. When "he slides in her" said in a very feminine voice, made me question why I was listening to it. I had to ask a friend if the voice bothered her as much. It had not. So, it's all a matter of personal opinion. I really think if I had read the book it would have been a much better experience.

This was the first book of Abbie St. Claire's that I have read. It was a great short read. This book was packed, with adventure, laughter and lots of steamy romance. What do men like to do when they go out on the town? Make bets and the woman like to get all dolled up and go out and party. Flynn and Chloe's story will take you on a ride. I would recommend this story for all you HEA lovers out there.

I am a new Abbie St. Claire fan!!! This was my first ASC read and I luuuuuuved it! If you're looking for a quick read that pulls you in and keeps you turning pages nonstop, this is a great one. It makes for the perfect beach read!

Having listened to this combo of writer and narrator before, I was glad to get a chance to again...and this little story did not disappoint me! It is a quick and well written romance tale, of 2 people coming together by chance, and falling in love...Chloe and Flynn are both coming off bad relationships and have a chance drunken meeting that turns into forever....I loved it...well worth a listen!!!

This is such a sweet book. It's was a quick read. We meet Flynn and Chloe. They each have gone through troubles with love. She caught her longtime boyfriend cheating and his last relationship was with someone that didn't want to settle down. This book was definetly a insta love story. While sometimes unrealistic with the shortness of their relationship before things progressed it was still an awesome book. Would def recommend.

Would you give a girl a chance if you saw her sporting pink hair? Sometimes love works in mysterious ways and a one night encounter can lead to something amazing. consolation prize is a great short story. loved how Chloe and Flynn find each other and quickly fall in love. everything happens so quickly but sometimes that's how love works, fast.
