This omnibus contains all SIX novels and TWO shorts. It totals 2800 pages of work. Rue lives in the quiet little town of Calvary, Minnesota. Located along the Great lakes and nestled in lush forests. Safe, secure, home, or so she thought. Nightmares plague her dreams. A boy, an ominous prediction. A change is coming, and not for the better. Vampires, angels, and demons. Love, loss, and redemption. Some journeys begin at forever.
Rue Volley lives in the Midwest in an old Victorian house with her husband and a spoiled Pug, crafting the most frustrating plot twists to make you want to toss your Kindle. She loves curling up with a good whodunit on rainy days and collecting book trophies. Rue is a dedicated mood reader and doesn’t mind taking afternoon naps. You can often find her in the library or supporting small bookstores with the money you give her for daydreaming on paper.
Rue Volley is known for her original stories and The Blood & Light Vampire Series is no different as it offers a unique twist on the classic vampire tale. Since I read all six books in the series in order I could see the author grow as a writer with each installment. The world building and character development are fantastic.
I really struggled with this and stopped reading at 32% which is really unheard of for me. I fell in love with the characters and am gutted not to see how it all pans out especially for Rue and Josh. Flipping back and forth between memories, the style of writing and the constant long winded sentences with lots of mistakes had my head hurting so much I had to give up :-(
If there was only one set of books that you get this year, then may I suggest you buy The Blood & Light Series, it is and has been for a long time my favourite series, It has a fantastic start to the series with Blood & Light, You won't want to put it down, I loved every minute of it, Rue had me hooked, these Vampires are not normal everyday vampires, these are a different breed all together, I loved all the characters, they were so well written, I could not put it down, The fight scenes were stunning to read, I really felt like I was in the middle of them all, OOoooh Joshua Barrington, what can I say, LOVE him big time, but that's just my opinion, although he may sway a few of you, I loved Kai he was so funny, Jonah had to be inspired by Johnny Depp, that is who I visualise when reading this series, The Blood & Light Saga certainly keeps you on your toes, with the constant twists and turns, I would highly recommend this series to anyone who love Vampires with bite, but also for those who fancy a little something different to read, I wish I could go higher than 5/5, it is so worth it, I have laughed and cried my way through the whole series, it has romance, action, thriller, paranormal, abit of everything to cater to all needs, Get your set, you won't be Sorry
This has got to be the most the twisted, in more than one way, " Vampire " book, that I have ever read. Not only does it go on and on, it's difficult to read with all the misspellings, clumsy grammar, bad punctuation and use of wrong words, I.e. weary instead of wary. This might have been a good book if written by Stephen King, case is the author I can think of that can write this many words and keep the reader entertained. I liked the main characters, but could not keep up with the constantly changing storyline.
I gave up after the first chapter. The author massively over uses ellipses and at one point changed from first person in one character, to another character for about three paragraphs, and then back to the first one with the first character acting like they knew what had happened even though they weren't in the room?! Yah. No. Don't read this.
