Big boss Moriya has his entire company eating out of the palm of his perfectly manicured hand. He has just one problem: where can he find the perfect face for a high-profile ad campaign? In the nick of time, the angelic Ouno appears like a vision on a crowded street. Moriya will do anything to win Ouno's favor and keep him on the job...but will the coverboy sign on the dotted line and surrender his heart?
A younger, dark haired beauty is sitting in a chair, his legs crossed as an older man holds onto his foot and removes his shoe for him. The older man is dressed in a business suit and looks extremely wealthy and professional, but he seems to have no problem with being on his knees in front of this other boy. Yes, this must be that steamy hot love affair you’ve been waiting for.
Unfortunately, I’m here to burst your bubble.
I figured that the story would at least give me hot images of a powerful boss being completely dominated. After the first dramatic pose I feared the worse. With a quick flip through the pages I was pummeled by more poses, more sparkles, and more waterfall like tears. The fangirl side of me cried out, “False advertisement!”
It’s odd to be reading something that I’m supposed to find sexy but it’s full of crack. This is where the “false advertisement” comes in. The back of the book promises a plot with a big and powerful boss and a gorgeous coverboy that gets to call all the shots and reduce this man to a pile of goo. It also promises jealous rivals out to steal Ouno away. The reality of the story is this: Moriya never comes off as powerful. He comes off as a complete pushover from the start. This pushover does anything for Ouno without being asked. As for the jealous rivals, there’s only one, and he’s always out to beat Moriya so him going after Ouno is no surprise. Anything in the story that’s supposed to be sexy is completely ruined with the art style and the constant barrage of author’s comments. I really don’t need arrows pointing to the characters and making comments as they’re having sex, not to mention that some of the comments are just as corny as the description on the back cover.
After my fangirl side was heartbroken my reviewer side finally kicked in. Despite the not so droolworthy art the story could, at least, be funny, right? Unfortunately, this is one of those stories that would be hilarious if there wasn’t so much going on. The poses, the streams of tears, it’s all a bit too much to take in. The comedy feels forced, especially with the comments the author makes. It feels like she’s saying, “Here’s a funny part, you should laugh now,” every time there’s a side comment.
This is a story that will either make you scratch the back of your head and stare blankly at the pages or laugh out loud if you like this type of over the top humor. Unfortunately, it didn’t really work for me. I’ll remember the art for being so overdramatic and the cover for being so gorgeous, but as far as the plot goes I won’t remember anything. There‘s nothing memorable about it.
I loved the art style and the concept was okay..... but I not sure I cared how the one guy was totally okay with sleeping around and not really seeing how that wouldn’t be okay or would hurt someone...?
I’ll Be You Slave A Yaoi Manga Review By Shawn Bailey I’ll Be Your Slave is a yaoi manga by Miki Araya. Moriya, the big boss of an ad company, is searching for a cover girl model for a new product. None of the other employees has been successful in finding one, so Moriya goes out personally to search. He’s just looking for someone with flawless beauty, some charisma, someone who can make people shiver, and someone who people will kneel down to. He spots Itsuki, a student, who has eyes that could melt a person’s heart, and Moriya insists (he) has to be the cover boy for the product. But Itsuki is the lazy sort, who modeled before, but ended up quitting because it was boring. Moriya makes a promise to Itsuki that he would do everything in his power to make the job enjoyable if he accepts. Itsuki accepts the job, and Moriya goes out of his way, waiting on him hand and foot. All the other employees notice and does not like to see their boss catering to the young man, since Itsuki is indifferent to anything Moriya does for him anyway. Itsuki soon gets bored with the job and wants to quit. Moriya told him he would do anything if Itsuki would stay with the company. “Even sex?” Itsuki asked. Moriya wanted to keep Itsuki happy so he agrees to have sex with him.
Review – The cover artwork is beautiful for this manga. The seme (Moriya) is larger than life, handsome, successful in his job, and overly-helpful when it comes to Itsuki. The uke (Itsuki) is gorgeous, pampered and unfortunately dull. I’ve read a lot of manga, but this is the first time I’ve actually liked the extra story included in the book better than the main story. Moriya idolizes Itsuki and falls in love with him at first sight. As part of his job as boss, he does everything in his power to make Itsuki happy, but the young man’s attitude is just indifferent. Even when Moriya agrees to have sex with him, Itsuki just lays there and doesn’t participate. Then along comes another rival ad company who offers Itsuki a job, and Itsuki doesn’t think anything about Moriya’s feelings, and accepts the other position. In real life, Moriya would have sued Itsuki for breach of contract, but instead he continues to pick Itsuki up from work and cater to him. In my opinion Itsuki is either drugged out, uncaring or depressed. On the other hand, Moriya is just a little bit too helpful. I’ve had a lot of bosses, and as of yet, none of them has gotten me coffee or bathe me in bubbles. The extra story included in the book made my purchase worthwhile. A young man, who always feeds stray animals, befriends a little boy, with blond hair and bright crystal eyes. He offers the younger child a piece of cake that his mother had baked. After which the young child keeps following him around. They grow into teens and he’s still following him around through school, much to the older boy’s dismay. The younger boy grew quite handsome and is very popular with girls, but he had no interest in them, only in his friend. But the younger one has a problem, he becomes destructive when he can’t get his way, and the older friend is the only one who can calm him down. He soon discovers that his young friend is in love with him, which he thinks is unnatural since they are both boys. But the younger one kisses him and insists that it doesn’t matter what their genders are, he is in love with him and wants to be with him. I don’t remember their names. I can’t even remember if they were mentioned, but I did like the look of the uke (younger boy) and I liked the way he fell in love with the other boy as a child and continued to love him until adulthood. I just wished the author would have made this the main story. I would recommend this book only if you just like to read any manga you can get your hands on. And I’ll probably read it again, just to read the second story. Shawn Bailey
Being big boss and loved by employees is not bad thing, unless there is something, which put you in to the category weird. Being masochist is not so bad, well personal preference but going that far in your work for the priced model is little bit odd. Here it works like in every yaoi manga. Man is so devoted and nuts that it makes readers brain to reset. I like the art style it is very dynamic and every gesture or movement is very hysteric, when it was meant to be. Moriya was in charge for campaign for new brand and discovered angelic but utterly spoiled Itsuki and decided to be voluntarily his door mat and loving every moment of it. Not bad manga when you add nice artwork. I would add 3 and half stars. so going for four here.
This was definitely not my cup of tea. Moriya is an ad exec and is looking for the perfect face for his next campaign. He discovers Ouno on the street and is struck by his beauty. It's not a bad premise, but seriously, I could not stand Ouno. He was listless, spoiled, and entitled. He looked like he was going to fall asleep the whole book and barely said anything. I couldn't connect with him at all - he was just a spoiled brat. And Moriya's fawning attitude was extremely annoying as well. I just couldn't connect with their dynamic at all. This just wasn't for me.
A lot of people on Goodreads seemed to really hate this book, but I adored it completely. It was a rather screwball boys' love romance mixed with a lot of comedy and a few dramatic moments to keep readers' hooked. Coupled with a few short stories, I'll Be Your Slave surprised me with how fresh and entertaining it turned out to be. Plus, Moriya's fawning over Ouno is too hilarious not to love!
kindle edition. I liked this one because it was a bit silly. An ad exec goes a bit above and beyond while taking care of a model at his company. It was refreshing to see the older character be pursued by the younger man for a change. The stereotypical seme/uke dynamic can get pretty old.
This manga is absolutely amazing! I laughed quite a bit at how the characters reacted. I would definitely absolutely recommend this book to those who love reading/watching Yaoi. I can't tell you have amazing this book is, it just makes me "EEEEEEEEEE" so excited :D
It's so silly that I couldn't help but love it. This is definitely one of those "love 'em or hate 'em" books. The absurdity was just enough to have me snarking and turning to the next page.
