Tragic news involving an old friend has Adele returning to the mainland where she soon finds herself working to unravel an increasingly complicated murder mystery with a cast of potential suspects who exist within the dark underbelly of the seemingly idyllic college town she once called home.
Fear in Fairhaven is Book #13 of the highly popular San Juan Islands Mystery Series by #1 bestselling Pacific Northwest author, DW. Ulsterman. _________ "As addictive a series as you will find. The weaving of thrills, romance, and real-world history is so well done. I hope these books never stop." -Kai T "Such an entertaining mystery series. These characters are like family now. Highly recommend." -CPARocks "Each new book is like a reunion with Adele, Tilda, Roland, Lucas, etc. Beautifully told and very hard to put down once you start. Please-please-please keep them coming!” -Lydia Perez "Awesome series! I can't stop reading them!" -Cheryl "The characters in these books are so fascinating." -Amazon Review
Unfortunately for D W “The Writer” was so awesome that most of the books since have been good enjoyable books but fall short of the intensity and excitement of the first book!
I enjoyed the story, the old and new characters and the mystique of the San Juan Islands.
The mystery was intriguing and with a nice twist. Whenever you think you know “Who done it” you can be pretty sure you’re wrong!
I enjoy catching up with the original cast of characters and watching their relationships develop and grow!
Adele is trying to solve the mystery of her college friend’s death. She is off the island the whole time and Roland is on a trip on his boat with no idea when he will return.
Good story but I listened to the audio book which is narrated by virtual voice. It really is terrible and I am not sure why I put myself through it. I love audiobooks but virtual voice just takes me out of the story because of the flat tone, pauses in the wrong place and mispronunciation of so many words.
D.W. Ulsterman does not disappoint. The story continues...this book outlines a little more of Adele's background, with a quick visit into academia and then returns to the island to lay the foundation for the future. Adele goes off on her own again to the mainland while Roland takes off on the water. Now I am all caught up and ready for the next adventure! Good way to spend a Saturday morning!
The tapestry of this story is so compelling in such wonderful ways. From the characters depths, the entire world story, the magical soulful introspection, all wound wonderfully into such an amazing tale! Start with book 1!
