Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.

Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.

Oh goodness! This story kept me laughing along with all the other emotions Hawk and Sutton asked me to feel for them. The antics of both families were just so fun to witness. Now, I’m a sucker for a second chance, so I was invested in this pair before the book even opened. But discovering what broke them apart and what eventually led them back together made every moment of the read so worthwhile. And now that I’ve reached the end, I feel like I need to go back and do it all over again, because I’m not ready to let go of these families any time soon. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
Sutton has left Claren, her sleazy, cheating husband, back in Scotland. Their daughter, Winnie, is heartbroken. Claren could care less. Why? Because he is shacking up with Sutton's best friend and their son.
First person Sutton runs into, is Hawk, her childhood sweetheart, who broke her heart.
In addition, to the unresolved tension between them, I liked the family challenges that Hawk really needed to step up and solve. His father is terminally ill and his sister and nephews are overworked and unhappy. It was really interesting how Hawk tried to fix everything, especially when Sutton's ex-husband decides to show up and cause all kinds of trouble.
This story is a second chance standalone, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. This story had me laughing, sympathizing and rooting for these two to get back together. This isn’t just packed with steamy chemistry, but also several children that will have you in stitches from laughing as well as wanting to hug them when they need it.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about Hawk in the beginning, but once he returned home and more of his history was revealed, along with how his actions and thoughts towards his family were revealed, he quickly won me over. My heart went out to his sister, Emery, and his father for what they have and were going through. I was happy to see Hawk finally mend his relationships with them. I loved Sutton and her daughter, Winnie. I was happy to see them both experience/get reacquainted, with their new environment and make new/reconnect friendships. I loved how Winnie was instantly protective of Hawk’s youngest nephew. She definitely stole the scene when she was featured. I loved the bond she formed with Hawk and was able to finally have a good male role model in her life. I loved the chemistry between Hawk and Sutton as well. I loved their banter and ability to reconnect and come out stronger than before.
I do wish that we would’ve found out exactly what was said to Sutton’s ex to make it known and guaranteed he wouldn’t reach out or have contact again. I’m also curious to know if the mother to Winnie’s half-brother ever found out the actions of Winnie’s dad when he was in the US. I would’ve loved to see Winnie finally be able to see/meet her half-brother as well. I’m also wondering to know what happened to Hailey. I don’t feel like the confrontation between her and Sutton was enough to fully get her to stop her advances towards Hawk. I wish I would’ve gotten to see Hawk put Hailey in her place and be the one to stop her advances towards Hawk. I would’ve liked to find out if Hailey’s husband ever found out about her advances and if there was any consequences to her actions.
Regardless, I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what Weston Parker decides to give us next. I received an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

Shipping magnate Hawk Brunson is tired of the extravagant social scene filled with vapid, leggy supermodels who are incapable of an original thought. When his sister calls for him to come home to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to help with their father who has progressing Parkinson’s disease, he leaves Los Angeles behind for Thanksgiving with his family.
Hawk’s childhood girlfriend Sutton Ashbury, now a single mom living with her parents in Portsmouth, is walking with her seven-year-old daughter Winnie on her first day to the same school she attended, only Winnie is a Scottish lass who is fearful she won’t fit in with American kids. While working in her parents’ bookstore, she is reunited with Emery, Hawk’s sister, and they discover that their kids are in the same class and vow to spend time together as single moms. And not unexpectedly, as they are thrown together, Sutton and Hawk realize they still have feelings for each other and that they definitely have unfinished business.
While not giving too much away, suffice to say that Sutton and Hawk have many roadblocks to deal with in their second-chance romance, and I was rooting for them and their families through the book because they represent you, me, and many other people in search of true love and commitment. I have no idea how Weston Parker comes up with ideas for his novels, but I am once again gobsmacked by the compelling and captivating plot for His for the Holiday. From the complexity of the relationship between the star-crossed lovers, to the agony of dealing with a parent in the throes of Parkinson’s disease, to the difficulties single parents are faced with on a daily basis, and to the final understanding that there is no place like home, family, friends, and community, he invites the readers to participate in real emotions that are fundamental to the human condition. This tour de force is an outstanding must read!
I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.
Hawk and Sutton grew up together and were inseparable. Then Hawk asked Hailey to the prom instead, breaking Sutton's heart. Fast forward, Sutton has returned to Portsmouth with Winnie, her 7 year old daughter she had with her Scottish husband, Calen who cheated on her and loved to party, drink heavily and have a good time. Divorcing him,Sutton agreed to give him all their money and assets if he gave up his rights to his daughter which he accepted. Hawk lives in California where he runs his multi million company but returns to Portsmouth to help his sister and ill father with the family business and runs into Sutton. Seeing her the old feelings return and he knows he needs to have her but not sure what to do. Sutton still has so much hurt from the way she treated her years ago. They end up spending one night together and the passion and heat is off the charts for them both. They know they have to be together but there are several obstacles standing in their way. The main one is her father who hates him for hurting her so many years ago and walking away. Hawk is determined to make her his and will do whatever it takes. This is such a great read and Hawk shines through. This is truly a page turner and with all the ups and downs and the hot, hot scenes you will NOT be disappointed.
This is a sweet holiday treat from Weston and it won’t disappoint. Childhood sweethearts are brought back together after several years. Sutton has returned home after her divorce and Hawk is called to come home and help tend to his father who has Parkinson’s. They are brought together when Sutton and Emery who is Hawk’s sister become friends. Will they be able to put the past behind them to find a future together? Will he stay in his hometown or return to California and they life he had there? This was a wonderful story that will bring out your emotions. As always Weston never disappoints. i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Hawk and Sutton. They were together as teens and kept their romance secret. Hawk hurt Sutton and it ended everything between them. Hawk left their small town and became a billionaire and owner of a huge shipping company. Hawk is asked to come home by his sister Emery to help with their ailing father. Sutton had just returned to town after living in Scotland and divorcing her daughter Winnie's father. When Hawk learns Sutton has returned, he wonders if he can find out why she cut ties with him and if she will forgive him and they can be friends. Sutton still is attracted to Hawk, but she knows he plans to leave again to go home to California and knows if she lefts him, he will break her heart again. I really enjoyed this story. I liked seeing the chance in Hawk, he matured and learned what was really important. I liked Emery and her boys. Emery was a strong woman who fought very hard to help her family, but she needed help. I think Hawk took her for granted. Sutton was still in love with Hawk, but still thought he was the same as in high school. She was a great mother and wanted the best for Winnie. This was another great one from Weston.
He's never gotten over her, you don't want to miss this steamy romantic love story. Hawk and Sutton's second chance romance after being apart 10 years. He took another girl to his senior prom, although they were dating on the sly. She graduated a year later and went away to college and then met and married a Scottish man in Scotland while visiting with friends after graduation. And comes home with a 7 year old daughter, Winnie.
He didn't understand why she ghosted him for a year till she finished school, so he worked hard at his dad's company on the docks of New Hampshire, until he was offered a job in California. He took the job and ended up starting his own company and becomes a billionaire!
The community sure doesn't think much of him. They think he's selfish only thinking of himself for 10 years and not coming home enough to help his sister and Dad with Parkinson's disease . Can Sutton forgive him? Give Hawk a second chance after her first husband cheated on her? She has trust issues, but her chemistry with Hawk is out of this world. Thank you Weston, you never disappoint!
This is a beautiful 2nd chance romance between Hawk and Sutton. Hawk is a high school hero who left town to become a successful billionaire with his own shipping company. Sutton was his secret girlfriend in high school, but he hurt her feelings when he took a different girl to prom. She ends up moving to Scotland and getting married. Now, 10 years later, Hawk is back to help his sister take care of their father, who is struggling with Parkinson's. Sutton is back too, because her husband got together with her best friend and had a baby with her! Now, these two are given a second chance at love, but there are a lot of complications in their way to happiness. This is a beautiful story full of some steamy scenes, and although you know that it's going to end with a happy ending, the journey there is full of speed bumps. The honesty and reality these two face is refreshing, and will keep the reader captivated throughout the story. As always, Weston Parker has provided us with a genuine perspective and steamy romance.

Taking place in New England over the Thanksgiving holiday, HIS FOR THE HOLIDAY starts out with a not too appealing billionaire playboy having to leave his party life and meet some family obligations he’s neglected too long.
Sutton and her daughter are starting over by moving back home from Scotland and of course they cross paths with Hawk, the guy who was her best friend, but hurt her badly resulting in both leaving home for 10 years.
I’m a second chance love fan and this has all the best elements with bonus of cute, but not obnoxious kids, supportive, protective family and friends, interfering exes, and not too much angst. The Thanksgiving connection was rather low key, and enough for atmosphere.
I was able to read an early copy of this book to offer my opinion and it’s an easy to read, well written and entertaining story.
I absolutely loved this book. It's such a great second chance story that reaches out and touches your soul.Hawk grew up portsmouth and left home after breaking Suttons heart, but now he is back for the holidays only to run into the one woman he has ever loved Sutton. Will she ever forgive him for the past? Suttons back home and states after a nasty divorce with her daughter, but she wasn't expecting to run into the man who broke her heart at a young age will she finally forgive him and give into the sparks that fly between them? Or will her ex come and try to cause trouble? This book was so very compelling, and it truly tugs st your heart and makes you feel like you are a part of the story..
This story covers a few genres, childhood sweethearts, second chance romance and single parent. This is a seasonal tale set around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hawke, owner of a shipping company he set up in his own, is called upon by his little sister to come home for Thanksgiving to help out with their father who has poor health. Meanwhile, unbeknown to him, his childhood sweetheart, Sutton and her young daughter have returned to their hometown to live with Suttons parents following the breakdown of her marriage. They parted on bad terms, can they overcome their differences and rebuild their relationship after all these years? A lovely heartwarming story with well rounded characters which I received as an ARC
Hawk Brunson and Sutton Ashbury had been best friends from kindergarten through his last year of high school, when he invited somebody else to prom. They never spoke again as he went on with his life in the tug boat/shipping business and she left for college. Sutton returned home with her daughter from Scotland 10 years later after her divorce. Hawk comes home for a visit a few weeks later at Thanksgiving time to help his sister manage their business, their father, and her 3 boys. Sparks fly when Hawk and Sutton meet again. They carefully and maturely work through all their issues and finally reach their HEA. It was a good book that I recommend to everyone.
A second chance romance story where Hawk and Sutton were childhood best friends and they reconnected after quite a few years. With Sutton only just divorced and having an eight year old daughter they moved back to her hometown. This is at the same time that Hawk makes a visit home to help with his father, sister and family business. It’s all a bit messy with an unreliable ex-husband in the background, but Hawk and Sutton have an irresistible attraction to each other. With Hawk having an unexpected knack of getting on well with children he soon filled the gap created by Winnie’s selfish father. An enjoyable story with some admirable supporting characters.
I loved this book. The characters were excellently written and loved their reactions. Best friends who have a falling out of the worst kind. Both of them get their heart broken. Years later they get another chance but it’s hard to pick up where they left off because they left off in a bad place When you’ve known someone your entire life you are willing to wait for your situation to change. What a great book. I love it when Hawk finally asks the correct questions to Sutton so they can figure out what went wrong last time and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Ah, true love.
This is such a brilliant second chance read. Sutton is back in her home town after a messy divorce but the light of her life is her 8 year old daughter. Hawk left town and never looked back but now he's home to help with his father and try to save the family business. It doesn't take long before Hawk and Sutton see each other but has he really changed from the teenager who let her down all those years ago. I loved how they were together especially when past hurts are still there in the form of the annoying mean girl from school. A must read with a perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is a well written second chance romance with strong characters in Hawk and Sutton. The author does a great job developing the story and brings it to life with his perfectly painted scenes. He takes you into their lives when they meet up after years apart. The spark is still there but they will have to work through some issues to have their HEA. He moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
I enjoyed so much about this read. Hawk and Sutton were friends, best friends, growing up and that closeness carries over even years later. A second chance always hooks me and this one did not disappoint. There are broken hearts to mend, time away to work through, and this gave me all the feels. Hawk has been living in his own world and him coming back home and seeing what he's missed, how he finally steps up... it's a great journey for him. Sutton is back home with her adorable daughter, rebuilding her life as well. These characters just click so well I couldn't put the book down. It's a great read from start to finish!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book had me reading into the early morning. Emery, Hawk, Sutton, and Winnie are just the key players who give this story life. I really enjoyed how the past and present were intertwined throughout the story. The multiple storylines complemented each other while adding the needed backstories and depth to their present. Weston Parker is a master of writing complex stories that keep me engaged and invested in the characters.
The second chance story of Hawk and Sutton is Weston’s latest winner! Billionaire Hawk returns home to help his dad and sister when he runs into Sutton. She is recently divorced and living with her parents. Sutton’s baggage comes with a feisty little girl who Hawk is amazing with. Everyone tells them to stay away from each other, but they were each other’s soul mates and the bond is stronger than ever.
Hawk and Sutton new each other all their lives. She went to college and got married with a Scottish man. Going home after her divorce with her daughter she and Hawk who is their to help his sister and father met again. Will Sutton take a chance at love again with her trust issues. Her daughter loves him will Hawk win her love back. A great second chance romance that will keep you glued to the pages until the end. A must read.
With the way Hawk and Sutton were when they were young, I couldn't fathom what Hawk had done. But, he was young!
He's now successful and living across the country. Could reconnecting with Sutton bring him home? Could that home include Sutton and Winnie? I sure was keeping my fingers and toes crossed for that outcome!
The book follows Hawk and Sutton in a second chance romance. After ten years apart, they reconnect amid personal struggles: Hawk's rise to billionaire status and Sutton's heartbreak from her husband's infidelity while raising her daughter. The story explores their journey to overcome past hurts and trust issues, making it a compelling read. I highly recommend reading it!

I just love second chance romances. Weston does an excellent job taking you on the journey of Hawk and Sutton. The reader is on an emotional ride revisiting their relationship of the past and the future. High School kids grow up and relationships seem to work themselves out into a wonderful romance. The characters are captivating throughout their journey. It’s a great love story, not to be missed.

Definitely a 5+ ⭐️ read! Weston Parker really hit the nail on the head with this one…a truly remarkable storyline; great characters—some you’ll love, some you’ll hate; pretty standard plot twists and turns; and an absolutely spectacular HEA. I wanted to know more about how their life progressed! This one definitely deserves to be on your TBR list. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and definitely wanted more!!) ❤️❤️
Hawk and Sutton were secretly a couple in high school, but he ruins everything by taking another girl to prom having them go their separate ways. Fastforward and they both are coming home for the holidays. Sutton is now a single mom, and Hawk has fulfilled his dream. When these two connect will they get their chance to rekindle the relationship they had as teenagers and get finally get their chance for happiness. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Another fabulous holiday romance from Weston. Hawk's sister has called him home to help with their ailing father. He is dreading it until he finds out his lost love Sutton has also returned to town. They both have much to overcome. Their story comes together with so many feelings. This one moved me to tears at points. I don't want to spoil any points of the story. A must read to get to their HEA.
