As the new owner of the Dahlia District, I will make the club more prosperous than ever before. But Iris has a different plan. She wants the club to stay female owned and operated, and she refuses to give up.
She’s a professional dominatrix, but I see the truth behind her cruel stare. She hides her submissive tendencies to protect herself, and I know I’ll take pleasure in degrading her until those carnal needs are exposed.
So, we make a bet. If she can convince me of her submission, I’ll give her the club. But if she fails, she’ll leave the club forever.
In this game, I’ll devour Iris’s body, mind, and future. And when I win, there will be nothing left of her.
Author’s Note: This dark romance follows a dominant billionaire and a switch heroine. It contains disturbing content. Reader discretion is advised.
Audrey Rush writes kinky dark romance and erotic horror. She celebrates spooky season every day, and she is obsessed with Disney. You can find her in the South, drowning in coffee.
I fell in lust *ahem love* with the cover so I almost one clicked But.... I've finally learned my lesson so I came to GR for safety details ONLY positive reviews.....glowing 5 stars,I think I saw 1 4 star I licked the cover and immediately backed away If anyone has safety details help me out I wanna try this! I mean LOOK at HIM 😂😂😂
****eta ohhhhhhh she's a sex worker and he's the owner of the sex club someone said........ Does anyone know the cover model's name 😂😂😂😂😁
This dark romance with a fascinating “enemies to lovers” undertone will keep the reader’s attention quite firmly with its intriguing plot filled with interesting, well-described situations and/or events. The characters are strong-willed individuals & have good chemistry between them although they do have some personal issues to deal with. It is about: a 32yr old female dominatrix (Iris Weaver aka Moma Bear) with terrible memories of a sad past verbally clashes with the new owner (a dangerous billionaire, Roland Price) who bought the sex-club (Dahlia District) where she works. There is: twists & turns, drama, intrigue, suspense, secrets, human/sex trafficking, drugs, prostitution, murder, abduction, devious intentions, threats, danger, violence, fear, memories, anguish, distrust, deceit, ultimatums, manipulations, dubious non-consensual/consensual scenes, domination/submission, obsession, violence, conflict, compromises & strangely enough there is love & contentment with a satisfying well-deserved epilogue.
*i received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* Devoured is an absolutely steamy book about Iris, a sex worker and Roland, the new owner of the sex club where she works. This plot is a classic tale of enemies-to-lovers with a dark twist.
My favorite quote: “Any time you disobey me, you won’t get what you want. You know this, don’t you, Iris? And trust me, you want this.”
Holy smokes this book has it all: Sex clubs✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Dark mysterious man with a past✔️ Trust issues✔️ Definitely would recommend for those looking for a bit of a darker romance to provide some spice to your imagination. One of my favorite romance reads lately for sure.
I very much enjoyed this story. It took a few chapters to get into it but then I was cheering this couple on. Iris does not like men which at first annoyed me but then it made it .ore fun when she submitted to Roland.
Roland had his own issues to work through as well. They were a great dark romance couple.
This is the last book in a series but can be read as a standalone. Other couple's from the other books in the series made an appearnace and now I want to go back and find out what their stories were.
This was a new to me author and I'm definitely now a fan.
This read is part of the Dahlia District series but it can be read as a standalone. Roland has purchased the district and now must face Iris. She would prefer to keep the District as it is and as hers, Roland has other plans so he offers her a bet. Who will win? Fast-paced read with intense chemistry, loads of drama and steam. Great characters and very hot. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it.
Iris was a woman of many talents and desires! by sewsummore
Iris works at the Dalia Club, it is her home and her sanctuary. As a foster child, she was beaten and abused and before she was eighteen she left the system to live on the streets. When she heard of the Dalia Club, a Gentleman's Club where the women who worked there were safe and protected, she begged the owner to allow her to work there and it soon became her home. Fourteen years later when the club was sold, she begged the new owner to keep the club the same or to sell it to her. Roland was attracted to Iris because she was a challenge, she played the role of a Dominatrix, and enjoyed humiliating the men who visited her. He wanted her but, on his terms. Roland offered her a deal she could never refuse. He will sign the club over to her for free if she will submit to him totally in all ways for a period of three months. It was a bet Iris was determined to win! I liked this book, Iris was a woman who demanded respect and worked hard to be the best person she could be. She had been given the name of "Mama Bear!" by the women she protected at the club. Many of the women had been sold into sexual servitude to work at the club, prisoners who could not leave until their debt was paid. Although Iris had paid out her debt many years earlier, she stayed because it was her home and she cared for the women who worked there. Roland found himself helpless to resist Iris, she was the woman he came to respect and love. The happy ending was the culmination of a powerful and romantic love story I enjoyed and will remember for the characters and the parts they played.!

a day...all it took was a day! I blew through this book! It was dark in all the right places, mouth watering sexy when it needed to be! Ah! This is Iris and Roland and them jokers were it! First book i’ve read by this author, and it was an ARC read but i’ll be going back to read the rest of the series for sure!! I loved the way the story flowed for the most part, I mean there are some chapters where it feels kind of..jumpy? One chapter will finish off with something and the next chapter might as well be in a completely different world or timeline. I think my favorite part of this whole dark story was the passion Iris has. I mean that girl was on fire! She knew what she wanted, how she wanted it, accepted herself for who she was and owned that shit, but was woman enough to admit when she needed help and saw that things could be better with growth not change!
Great book! 5 out of 5 for sure! Break down and do it!
IF YOUVE GOT TRIGGERS THEN BE WARNED! DO NOT REVIEW THIS BOOK ALL DISGUSTED AND WHAT MOT CAUSE YOU FAILED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE WARNINGS THAT WERE GIVEN! THERES KIDNAP AND RAPE PLAY, HEAVY DRUG USE, TALK OF PROSTITUTION AND SEX TRAFFICKING, ABUSE EVEN TO AN EXTENT...IF YOU CANT HANDLE THAT THEN SIMPLY DONT READ! ITS A GREAT BOOK! PERIOD!
In this last book of this series we have as MCs Iris and Roland, the new owner of Dahlia District. Iris is one of the oldest workers in Dahlia District, nicknamed Mama Bear for his colleagues, she has always cared for the well-being of all the people who work there, and has not yet overcome the departure of some of her friends. Snow she has to see how her precious club passes into the hands of a man, and when she finds that Roland wants to turn it into another of his nightclubs, she decides to go talk to him and try to make him sell the club, but Roland doesn’t want to give up the business. But one night after seeing Iris in her role as Dominatrix, he comes up with a bet:
“Let’s make a bet. If you can convince me of your submission, the club is yours.” I paused, studying her face, but she stayed motionless, putting up her internal defenses. I continued, “And if you don’t, you walk away.” “Walk away?” “Quit. Find a new job.”
Iris accepts and will do whatever it takes for the club, what she couldn’t suspect is that she could enjoy so much the touch of this man. Roland has serious trust issues due to what happened years ago with his ex Lexi, and constantly puts Iris to the test. Couple with his continued use of drugs makes him paranoid. Iris tries to convince to quit drugs, since she doesn’t want to be with someone like that. Both have problems expressing what they feel and take refuge at work. And they are bout to lose everything, Iris evens her own life.
“I needed you to trust me,” I said. “And fuck me if I wanted to have fun earning that trust.” My lips turned down. “Don’t tell me you didn’t get off on the thrill of it. I know you did.”She was right. I shouldn’t have manipulated her. Lied to her. Played with her. Because in the end, I did respect Iris. But it was done now.
Also on this book we have the opportunity to see the MCs of the other books again, which makes this the perfect finishing touch for these series.
"Devoured" by Audrey Rush, is the first book of this new year that literally left me feeling devoured! I received this book from Book Sirens and am voluntarily leaving this review. I have only learned of this author, and this is the final installment of the Dahlia District series. Although it is a stand-alone book, I so much want to go to the beginning of this series! The dynamic of this book draws you in instantly! There is sex, violence, murder, trafficking, manipulation, drugs, prostitution, andcrime, crime, crime. Just like watching a train wreck, you will have to find out what happens and who survives!
Roland Price is a billionaire who owns a string of clubs that cater to the elite. I purely hated him! He is hard drinking, drug using, manipulative, cocky, and dangerous man who is now the new owner of The Dahlia District. He wants to turn the Dahlia into a new even more elite club than those he already owns. He has zero scruples in attaining his goals.
Iris Weaver, a 32 year old sex worker of Dahlia District has no reason to trust men. She has been abused physically and sexually since she was a kid. She puts up a shell around herself by becoming a badass dominatrix, where she controls what she is willing to do with her clients. The Dahlia District has been her home since she was a teenager, and Iris want to own it herself. So, she offers to buy the club from Roland. Now here is a challenge that he can't resist.
Get ready for a wild ride! I loved the enemies to lovers dynamic of the book. And like Iris, you will start to find likes to like about Rowland. The plot is so well written and the characters leave you feeling their exhaustion! What I would have liked to know more of was the background of Iris's foster parents and what actually took place to put her on the course to the group home and ultimately to the streets. Also, though got enough of the back story of what took place with Lexi and Rowland's own trust issues, I wanted to know more.
I loved "Devoured" and now I must go to the beginning of this raw, intense series! I think I am going to be a huge fan of this author's work!
Devoured is the last book in a series of interconnected standalone dark romances, set amongst the women who work at an establishment called The Dahlia District. This book follows Iris, “Mama Bear”, the only Domme on the staff. Opposite Iris is Roland Price, the new owner of the Dahlia District.
Trigger Warnings:
Rohypnol Rape (discussions of, attempted) Physical violence Drug use Sex trafficking Indentured servitude Breath play Gun violence Abduction Knives (as weapons) Courthouse (sentencing procedure) Sex work
Characters of Colour?
None that I could find
Disabled characters?
Iris has behaviours that would indicate PTSD or similar; definitely unresolved trauma that affects her day-to-day. Roland misuses drugs, battles survivor’s guilt, & has a LOT of unresolved trauma that impacts his day-to-day life.
GLITTFAB/Queer characters?
None explicitly present
Worth my time?
Hell yeah! This is the third book I have read from this series, & I absolutely love this world, these characters, & the interesting twists Audrey creates. It took me about 4 hours, all told, to read this one. I may have utterly devoured it, to the detriment of my meals & hydration for the day 😅
Re-read?
Oh absolutely. This whole series is worth the re-read, & a little birdie mentioned there might be more coming for Audrey’s world of Dahlias. I look forward to cozying up for a good few days & blatantly bingeing on Audrey Rush!
Recommend?
To those who like their romance with a good bit of grit; those who support sex workers; those who enjoy walking through fire with their MC to get that character growth.
I received an ARC of Devoured from BookSirens in exchange for my honest views.
Where to start? I think it's fair to define dark romance for those who may not be familiar with it. Many dark romance contain a level of BDSM, sometimes heavy or light, I found it light on this one. Dark romance rarely has a magical turnaround for the characters to become "good". What I mean by that is, if someone is a sex worker (as in this book) they are going to stay a sex worker, they won't be transforming into some suburban housewife. The fun part of dark romance is watching how the characters grow and unfold in their world, which is most likely different from yours.
Moving on. If this is your first book in the Dahlia District series don't make it your last. This book can read as a standalone, but trust me, you're going to want some backstory for the others. I'm new to this author and this is the second book of hers I've read and the thing I've really enjoyed them both. The character arc and backstory is defined well enough that the reader can understand the negative traits and character wounds of the protagonists. The author does a good job delivering on a clear positive growth of the character so the reader can see the protagonists recognizing their faults and working to improve upon them.
The only part of the book that can be difficult for a reader is the chapter transitions. At times they can be very jarring and unexpected in terms of scene and location. Don't worry, you'll catch up, but I do wish it read a bit more smoothly.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "DEVOURED". What a rollercoaster ride full of angst, danger, suspense, intrigue, lust, dark steamy rough scenes, mistrust, damaged souls, secrets, lies, twists that make for an addicting read. Iris came to Dahlia District as a teenager living on the streets her foster father abused her she kept coming to Dahlia until she finally gave her a place to stay this was her home for years now 32 upset its being sold & to a mlae of all things. Roland Price talked Dahlia into selling him Dahlia District he knows all about who Iris is he's willing to make a deal with her after she begs him to sell the Club to her hell make her submit to him completely to win the bet & get her club. Roland & Iris have an uphill battle with one another he's not one to trust anyone he's all about the business hell enjoy the game he makes her play with him he very attracted to her neither are willing to let their guard down to much has happened in the past. Roland & Iris chemistry is explosive he makes her feel things no man has ever made her feel she make him unguarded also there secrets and danger following her but knowing who's after her things will be revealed to bring this amazing series to a conclusion. I definitely recommend to get the complete series so will worth he read with great interesting engaging characters but I think this was my favorite in the series I loved Roland & Iris's story it had all the feels you could sympathize with what they want through in the past. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!!
Read 11.12.21 3.5☆ I enjoyed this book! It was a Medium paced book for me 》TW: Sex, Violence, Language
•I enjoyed the ending to this series. It comes to no surprise that this is the third dark billionaire romance in this series given that The Dahlia District where the women in these books work, is an entertainment club with a high price tag. In this book, the future of the club is up in the air and it all boils down to the relationship the two main characters end up having. •The book is written from 2 POVs, Iris and Roland, our two main characters. At the beginning of this series I wasn’t a big fan of the writing, I have mentioned it in that review, throughout the series the writing did improve, especially when it came down to the terminology or phrases used when it came to anatomy or sexual actions. In this book though, I found things to be choppy. While I was reading I felt a little out of the loop as things jumped around. In the end, it all clicked and I understood, but I do think this could have been done better with some more inner dialogue. •Overall this book was a good ending to this series even though all 5 of the books can be read separately. I am thankful I read all of them and in the order that they were written, I think it helped to fill in more history of all of the characters especially when it came to this last book. If I hadn’t read the others I may have felt a little lost when the previous main characters were discussed.

I cannot express how much I have loved this series! In this final Dahlia District book, Iris meets her match. The new owner of the Dahlia District, Roland Price, has been warned that Iris (aka Mama Bear) will fight any changes he wants to make. They strike a delicious deal, each planning to ensnare the other in the most decadent of ways, but *shrug*. This author has developed the most divine antiheroes for this series-not good guys, but bad men with a moral compass, whose retribution often far outweighs the original crime. This made me see Roland in a good light, and even later, when I know he’s done terrible things, I still liked him. Iris is the real hero of this story. She's a strong woman who can submit (those breath play scenes, whew!). She fights to hold things together, she sacrifices so she can do what's best for the greater good, she's supportive yet still needs support from her friends. One of the things I loved most about this book—the author incorporated the past couples into this story, so were able to round this series off with a sigh and a smile.
I discovered this isn't the story for me. It lacked backstory for Roland until halfway through the novel that left me asking why too much. The conflict between Roland and Iris seemed weak given it read like they really had the same goals many times until halfway through the novel when Roland's true vision had been made clear. And what threw me off the most was a major event at the beginning of the novel that went unaddressed until over fifty percent through the novel. Iris didn't even once think to herself and question why that event happened... and it was a BIG event. Not something someone would just forget about the next day and many months following. The sex scenes were definitely not for the romance reader nor were they steamy. They were just from what I could gather elements of sex mixed with BDSM. -I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Our hero puts our heroine to a final test. Of course, no one said he was going to play fair.
This is book five of the series and the finale. Although it works pretty well as a standalone, It would be best not to start here.
This is a dark romance with strong elements of D/S. The story is well written and easy to read with a strong sense of intrigue throughout the story. Both the setting and characters are well developed and easy to visualize. I rather liked that both our hero and heroine have depth to them, with more under the surface then the stereotype you first see. I also enjoyed watching the way the relationship developed. We also got nice bit of steam along the way, which is always a plus. Overall, a very enjoyable read and a fitting conclusion. I look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.

Iris and Roland's story I've loved this series, the Dahlia District and was happy the author brought back all the characters from the other books of the series. Iris has been present in every book since the first book. Dahlia's right hand, protector of the girls, fierce, strong, and kind-hearted. When Dahlia sells the club to Roland Price instead of her, Iris tries to get it from him. Roland makes a deal with Iris that seems to go against who she is. Read this tale. It is dark, violent and has BDSM at the forefront. There is dubious consent too. But as rough as it gets it is steamy and in the end a great end to the series. And though it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the whole Dahlia district series!

I wish I started the Dahlia District series from the beginning but with that being said, this book was smoking hot!! I loved the dynamics between Iris (pro domme) and Roland Price (hedonist billionaire).
Iris lives at the Dahlia District and considers it her home so when Dalia sold it to Roland Price the fireworks started. Iris dislikes men period. Until she found the one man that broke her down and made her realize she can trust him. Every person carries their own baggage no matter where the stand in society and Roland is no exception
I don’t like reading about degradation but that didn’t take away from the story. The book was well written and kept me reading until I finished the book. I couldn’t put it down.

Five books….five stars… seems a bit easy. I gorged myself on this series! Seriously dark with a tinge of dominance and borderline obsession.
What did I like? I read five books in four days devouring this series! Iris is the last one to get her story and I just loved her. Roland buys Dahlia’s district and wants to turn it into a club for billionaires. Iris doesn’t like change and wants the club to remain as is and so the challenge starts. The two of them together in a scene was positively scandalous!
Would I recommend or buy? I’d recommend the whole series! All five books were unique and yet held a common theme. I really enjoyed reading this series and any lover of domination romance will devour this series! Five huge stars!
Thank you for a complimentary copy to read and I voluntarily left a review!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily writing an honest review.
Well… this one was okay. I’m honestly a little confused about why the MC would partake in things she doesn’t enjoy as her job when she could do just about anything, but to each their own.
This one is more primal-based and dark. I feel that there is not a whole lot of explicit smut in this one when compared to the others.
I liked how this one wrapped everything up nicely, but at the same time I almost feel like I expected something darker. I’m not quite sure.
But yet again, another solid book in the series, and you’ll probably enjoy this if you like kidnapping! 😉
Guide to my ratings: 5 stars: flawless, hard to put down 4 stars: it was really good and memorable 3 stars: it was good/okay 2 stars: no redeeming qualities and forgettable 1 star: horrible, had no idea what was going on, boring!!!
"Iris was mine. The kind of woman I could devour night and day and night again, until we were both destroyed, until there was nothing left to do but to die a little death, one breath at a time, until nothing existed, when pain and pleasure were the same thing, and Iris swallowed my heart, chewed it up, and spit me out, devouring me too, never letting me go." Iris is used to being the dominant one but there is a reason why she prefers that. Roland knowing she's a dominant asks for her submission in exchange of the club. This is an interesting take on a woman who enjoys being a sex worker and I guess the man that's ok with her working as one. So if you like a possessive hero then this is not for you. The book is dark and the hero degrades the heroine a lot. I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed it.
Iris has worked and lived it the Dahlia District for a long time and was upset when the owners sold the business. Roland purchases the club and wants to turn it into a night club. He makes a deal with Iris is she can show him that she is submissive he will give her the club to with as she wishes. Iris does not trust men. Roland wants Iris. This is a fabulous conclusion to the story. I enjoyed every moment that I shared with the people in the Dahlia District. This is a wonderful series that kept me entertained and engrossed in this and the other stories. It was well written with a great story line. The characters are wonderful and interact well. I just loved it. Sorry that it is ending.

Wow, what a great ending to what has become one of my favourite series. Iris has been desperate to get her hands on the Dahlia district and was upset when she found out that Roland had bought it, he agrees to let her have it as long as she submits to him fully, which isn’t easy for her as she is a Domme, but she bites the bullet and does as she’s been asked, what she doesn’t expect is it fall in love with Roland. This story has both characters POV which I love and we caught up with the other characters from the previous books, this book wrapped everything up in a big shiny bow for me, I loved it! I received an ARC from Booksprout for an honest review
Iris is one of the long time girls from the Dahlia club, the club is sold to Roland - a night club owner who plans to remodel the club into another night club and have the previous ‘staff’ stay on purely as waitresses, nothing more. Iris offered to buy the club but was ignored, then she made a deal with Roland. The storyline details the push and pull of their relationship, with lots of erotic scenes, kidnapping, guns, power fights. Iris goes through a lot during this storyline, she learns from the past and emerges a stronger women. The storyline keeps you in suspense of what will happen next. Great ending, it tied it up really well. Overall yet another great book from this author.
Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Roland is a billionaire he owns lots of clubs that cater the elite, now he owns The Dahlia District. He wants the Dahlia even higher elite club than the ones he already owns. Iris is 32 year old sex worker of Dahlia District. She has been abused physically and sexually most of her life. She is a badass dominatrix who is in controls of her clients. Dahlia District Club she wants to own it herself, she offers to buy the club from Roland. Final book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I am unsure where to start. This was an incredible book. The emotional intensity, personal passion and focus coupled with motivation make this a winner. Do I cheer or scream...I wasn't sure from one page to the next. Roland and Iris' journey and the development of their bet kept me reading late into the night. Unpredictable would be a good descriptor for this book. I give it five stars because anything less is impossible. I am however at a loss for how to review this story without a spoiler if I get anymore specific than I have been here.
Iris worked at the Dahlia District a sex club. Where all the women had to work off her dept. The the owner decided to sell and the new owner was Roland Price. Iris went to him with an offer to buy the club from him with a lot less money than he had paid. So he made a bet that if she would submit to him he would give her the club. So there love hate relationship began and then Roland decided she could have the club and he was leaving but that’s not the end. I’ll let you read to see what happens

I really liked all 5 of the books in the series. I am huge fan of characterization and I’m really glad that there very clear distinctions between each of the female characters and the men they end up with. I also liked that while this was dark and the couples were far from perfect people they had a HEA that was realistic but still heartwarming. Loved it and highly recommend! My rating would be closer to a 4.5/5, because there were a few times where a character made a very sudden shift from earlier behaviour but it’s very minor and just a preference.
This book took me through all the feels. I experienced so many feelings for both Roland and Iris. I was so happy that we got to see an ending to the madness that took place during the ordeal that went on in the book. I loved the development that both Roland and Iris had to overcome in order for this book to get to the ending. No details were left untold. We knew everything all in due time and why certain things took place, granted I wanted to know sooner but there was a reason behind everything.
