Very silly, and Horsham is only involved on behalf of the title pun.

The International Space Station (ISS) has been damaged by a storm of meteorites and its crew members were stranded because the engine would not start. On earth the Space Headquarters could not find any solution to the problem. Suddenly, one of the crew members spotted a small purple space craft, The Explorer 1 approaching the ISS. There was fear and panic as the captain was informed about the unidentified object. What can they do to protect themselves from alien attack? The only option was to welcome the foreigners using their radio; ‘‘greetings...um, peace to all. We are friends, please don’t fire!’’ The captain fainted as he saw a little boy, Rodney and his adventurous Gran. Gran told the captain the story of how they were able to travel to space with a home-made rocket but lied that she made the space craft herself and promised to fix the ISS broken engines.

This is a story, children in KS1 and KS2 can relate to because it is about family. It can be read to a class, for independent reading, to inspire creative writing and for curriculum support in history, geography, science and D&T; children can design their own space craft.
