World War II Begins...
It's September of nineteen-thirty-nine, and King George of England has just announced to his people that he has declared war on Germany, due to their invasion of the Allied country of Poland.

This ghastly news immediately falls on the ears of Simon Bentley, while he sits enjoying himself at his younger brother George's wedding. Being a Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force, he knows he must act immediately, so without any hesitation, Simon flees the church basement reception, and heads straight for his air base.

It is now time for all the years of his pilot training to be fully tested as he leads his fellow pilots into dangerous missions throughout Europe. Their ultimate goal is to conquer the German tyrant who is feared by many, Fuhrer Adolph Hitler. Simon is also faced with the knowledge that each mission he takes could be his last, as he encounters the formidable Luftwaffe in the skies over Germany.

Will he be shot down over the English Channel, or worse yet if he is taken down over enemy territory, could he become captured making him a prisoner of war? Simon Bentley knows this to be a reality that he could face in the months if not years ahead. Yet, his passion has always been flying, and serving his country is paramount to who he is as a man. So, into the skies he flies to protect his beloved England with the aid of the Allied countries of America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

"There are planes everywhere...Mustangs, Spitfires, and Messerschmitts filling the skies. It's chaos at its finest! I hear the ping- ping of rounds hitting my plane. As I'm firing my guns I bank left to evade the Germans behind me, and as I'm banking, I have another 109 coming straight towards my nose. He fires, I fire, and I land a direct hit to one of his engines. Bloody hell! He shot me! Smoke is billowing out of my engine. I immediately get on my radio to report my situation, and then I hear Hurley saying, "I got you, Sir! I got you, Sir!"

As Simon battles in the skies over Germany, his family in England remains in constant worry as to his survival throughout this major world war. Yet, each of his siblings must also face their own devastating situations that have come about due to these extreme times of global conflict.

Sarah, the oldest of the Bentley children is now stranded in England, and cannot return home to Italy. Her husband is forced into the Italian Army, and the question remains if she will ever see her beloved Lorenzo again.

While her younger sister Mary faces that her own husband must go off to perform as a military police officer in London, where heavy bombing will become part of his daily existence. Will Mary's husband James survive the massive destruction that befalls London, England?

Follow the Bentley family through the years of nineteen-thirty-nine thru nineteen-forty-five, where they must face what is assuredly the most frightening times of their lives. Again, their faith will be greatly tested as it has been in the past. Will they continue to remain steadfast in their devotion to God and family, or will they lose their way?

Hello, everyone, and welcome to my author's profile. I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself to you.

I am the author of a Historical Fiction series titled The Bentley Family Adventures. Included in this series: Where Are You Mary? The Return Of Mary, Simon, Where Are You? The Story Of Ms. Gertie King, Let Me Paint Away Your Scars, The Bent Kings, The Yellow Feather Ranch, The Lives Of My Kin and Lost Forever In Broken Memories.

I have also created a second series in 2024 that includes The Secret Life of Katherine Duckworth and Stepping Forward into the Past. With this new series, I am branching away from historical fiction into a more modern era and challenging myself to tackle tougher subjects. I hope you will give them a read, and please leave a review to give me your feedback.

These novels can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Walmart. I hope you will take the time to read them. I do believe they will take you on an amazing journey through the lives of the Bentley Family and just how each of them deals with extenuating circumstances beyond their control.
ABOUT ME:
The love of reading and writing has followed me since I was a young girl. Stories of far-off places and characters have always filled my imagination. Now, at this stage of my life, I have found the confidence and the desire to bring those stories to the world. It is my hope that meeting the characters in my books will cause you to grow to love them just as I did while writing about them.

I am a proud mother of three adult children, for whom I write these books. Why? To show them that no matter your age, you should always pursue your dreams and never leave them in the dark.

Most of all, I must say that my stories are 'wholesome' and revolve around the love of family and the dedication we must take to preserve that entity.

Thank you for taking the time to read, and may God bless you all.

This book has so much good information of WW2. It is so well written. The characters were fun and interesting. Thru the darkest days they shared their family love. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this continuation of the Bentley families along with the Kings. This one takes you through to the end of WWII. I cannot wait to continue onto the next book in the series. The virtual voice narration was decent also.

Another great read from Lockamy

In part 3, Lockamy takes us through WWII from the multiple perspectives of the Bentley family as we join them on quite a journey. Once again, she has done a great job getting into the minds of her characters as they go through these experiences and you feel like you become part of their family. Lockamy has a way of pulling at your heart strings and making you want to see what happens next. Looking forward to reading the next installment of the Bentley family adventures.

Lots of action and adventure!
A man or woman could read it and
enjoy it.
I can tell a lot of research went
into this book, which I appreciate.

This is the second book I have
read by Lockamy, and I like her
style. She has a way of making
you feel the emotions of her
characters, not always an easy
thing to do.
I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Impressive WW 2 story!
The author took a different spin
on this war, which I greatly enjoyed.
She makes you feel like you were
right there every step of the way with
Simon, which impressed me the most.
Other reviewers say that this author
makes you feel her characters, and I
wholeheartedly agree with them.

I highly recommend this book,
especially if you are into aviation and
are looking for an exciting twist on how
this war is told.
