Lark has every reason to stay away from he’s her brother’s best friend, the prez of an outlaw MC, and he does not know her daughter is his. But will he let her slip away again?
Never thought I’d see her again—Lark, my best friend’s baby sis, always off-limits. Until that one reckless night five years ago when we crossed every damn line. She made it clear she wasn’t into ridin’ with a biker, and I get it—her brother got locked up ‘cause of the club, and a lotta bad shit followed.
Now, Lark’s back, with eyes full of secrets and a little girl who looks way too much like me. She denies it, but every time I look into that kid’s eyes, it’s like starin’ in the mirror.
Trouble’s ridin’ close, and someone’s gunnin’ for Lark’s secrets. But I’m here, standing guard.
She thinks she can keep her distance, that I still see her as Raiden’s kid sister. She’s dead wrong. This time, I ain’t lettin’ her go.
This ride? It’s gonna be wild. But hell, it’s gonna be ours..
Each book in the Satan's Angels MC series delivers a standalone happily ever after for the couple, but for the best experience, we recommend reading them in order.
Tyrant & Lark: triggers- cancer, kidnapping, torture. So I'm gonna say that I enjoyed the book but there were some things that I thought: 1. could've been shortened to allow for more of the MC drama and relationships to bleed through; 2. To allow more of a buildup of the relationship between Tyrant and Lark (it felt more rushed and forced after the first half of the book); 3. Lark could've been written better in the beginning. Even though she is 7 years younger than Tyrant and her brother, the authors have her quite literally begging to be with Tyrant, so she came off as immature and needy. Also, her reasoning for cutting him off totally didn't make sense since her brother is in the same MC. And 4. I thought the end was kind of dumb. I expected more from the plot twist at the end. It was a complete let down. I also would have loved to see (or rather read about) the developing relationship with Tyrant and his daughter. There was just so much that was just not completed and filled in with stuff that didn't need to be there. I really hope the next one is better.
This book started out beautifully. It was all setup, the best friends sister. Off limits. Hot MMC and “touch her and die” vibes. Lark being innocent at the start was great too, she really fit the role of this troupe. The writing had me sucked in, I am a sucker for many metaphors about feelings and I LOVE when the MMC doesn’t try and move on and get with other women in the process. They waited for each other…… but after Lark leaves, and later comes back, the book fell REALLY off for me.
It does turn into a slooooowwwww burn. Only 3-4 scenes in the book. Steamy, but short.
*spoilers*
I HATED that it was a 5 year gap and Gray missed out on his time with Penny. I HATED that Lark didn’t have a truly good reason to flee. I understood her worries but I really thought she was going to unload a big reason and it fell flat for me when it was JUST her worries. I know this might make me a bad person, but I didn’t care for the mom plot line. I sadly wanted her to go so Lark and Gray could reunite faster. The scene with the flowerbeds and getting the grill was a WASTE of time!! The end of the story made me mad with the huge paragraphs of thoughts and speeches, I skimmed because I got bored and wanted to know what they were going to do about Gray’s father. I HATE that they called a truce and the setup for the next book will be an enemies to lovers — my least favorite troupe.
Sorry to be a Debbie-Downer, but I am really upset this book took a path that just frustrated me and wasted so much time.
The story in itself was interesting, or at least it had that premise. But I found the FMC unlikable at best. She knew who she wanted since ever, her own brother belonged to the MC and as soon as she deeps her toe in the pound she flees? And only returns due to her mother's ilness? It would make sense if she had been threatened by the former Prez, or by someone who didn't want them together... But just get up and leave, after burning the bridges with her parents, the life she knew? And carrying a child whose father didn't know about? And even with all his suspicious, he didn't press for the truth? And Raiden, looking in the eye every single day since his release, getting to know his niece, couldn't put two and two together? I felt this book had a lot of potential but I ended up hating half the characters and wishing the other half to grow. Literally. It does not end in cliffhanger as far as Tyrant's story goes, but the subplot underneath... That is a different story altogether and maybe I'll read the next just to see where it takes us.
This book was everything I look for in my MC books and I love the brother’s best friend genre. Everyone knows you don’t mess with your best friend’s sister but five years ago Tyrant and Lark finally gave in to what they really wanted. Now she’s back with and the secret that she has kept will longer be a secret. Tyrant is now the Pres of the Satan’s Angels MC and the chemistry that Lark and Tyrant had is still burning bright.
I loved this steamy, off-limits MC book and since this is the first book in the Satan’s Angels MC series, I’ll be sure to keep a close on eye on what comes next. I don’t want to miss it.
There is so much inner dialogue going on that I honestly got very bored and skipped through a lot of it. It was a little unlikely how fast the FMC all of a sudden fell back in love with the MMC. I see the second book had higher rating than this one so I’ll give it a go but hopes are honestly low.
Disappointed in this book. It had a great premise but fell flat.
-Barely talked about the bike club. Usually a first book in an interconnected series introduces other bikers and you get to know more about them in each book. -skipped a lot of key moments like Raiden finding out about his sister and his friend and the mother seeing the garden. -Lark’s father was in many scenes but legit said one sentence -Tyrant started calling Lark Birdie randomly like 75% in and acted as if that was always her nickname -Honestly, Tyrant didn’t have a biker prez vibe. I’m a sucker for romance but the things they said together were so corny. -In the beginning, Tyrant has to go to the doctors because he’s getting debilitating migraines that are insinuated to be because Lark left? Really random and never discussed again -Lastly, when he takes her virginity he just shoves it in with no prep after they make it known he is large. Felt unrealistic.
I don’t think I’d read another one of this author’s books. Mostly finished to keep up with my Goodreads book goal lol

Loved the MC idea. It was great and you had the different tropes with her being the little sister and them having a child together. I can get behind that. What took me out was when she started calling him the biker 'king' and she his 'queen.' It gave me the ick and I had a hard time finishing the scenes. The smut was fine though all before that and so was the storyline. It was a little cheesy, but had great potential.
I think personally the whole 'biker king and queen thing' just isn't realistic and made it feel like a let down and that it wasn't as well written.
Too many lines that wanted to be poetry. Too many cheesy phrases. Too many missing pieces in the storyline. It has good reviews on KU, and I can’t possibly understand why. I’ve read a lot of not great books, but this was just bad. Does not rank well at all against other MC novels, or smutty books for smuts sake.
I really liked this book. Great first installment to what seems is going to be an amazing series. I loved the writing style. The plot was flowing and well presented – the rollercoaster of events kept me glued to my kindle – although there were times that I would like for them to be presented with a less abrupt way, since some things seemed to be really rushed, “jumping” from one thing to the next with little room to breathe.
That being said, I really LOVED Tyrant (aka Gray). He is strong, he is patient, a born leader and protector. Fierce, determined and wise – at least in my eyes. I loved how gentle and understanding he is with Lark’s feelings, even when she didn’t deserve it at times. Lark, although I could understand her stance and decisions at times – present and past – I had some trouble liking, at least excessively. How can you be so irrevocably in love with someone, then leave him out of fear of things you didn’t even give him a chance to explain to you about his world? A world that your brother is also a part of - and you had knowledge of from the very start, albeit not so detailed? She redeemed herself in the end, in my opinion, but to be honest, she had me feeling frustrated for a big part of the book – despite her showing regret and recognition of her faulty judgment toward Gray’s world from time to time throughout the whole book.
Now, the actual story is not uncommon; best friend’s little sister being in love with the wild, but big-hearted man since forever. One unexpected night of passion, then she leaves, afraid of the brutality of his world – taking a sweet little something with her. Fast forward five years – she has to go back to support her family. He has never forgotten her; he knew she was his one. Enemies, a brewing war, secrets and stunning revelations pave the difficult path to their HEA. How will her brother react when he finds out that she and his best friend were hiding things from him – important things? What will the club do when the past catches up with him? The rise of the Queen at her King’s side is stunning and brutal and so, so right. I can’t wait to dive deeper into this amazing world of Satan’s Angels and learn more about the other club members and how the whole club will face the challenges in the future.
All in all, it was a great read. 4 stars.

Started out with a bang, but ended with a whimper. This story was so great at the beginning, and I was completely invested in it, but from the midway point on, it started to slide off the track a bit. I really couldn't connect with the main female lead at all. Tyrant started out great, and the MC crew felt strong, but geez that ending was a complete let down.
After a serious threat from an enemy MC, the club basically folds like a lawn chair and allows the invading MC to take a percentage of their money and put enemy crew members inside their club. I was floored by that decision, and it just ruined the whole story for me. I can't see any MC worth their salt allowing another club to take over like that without the slightest protest.
And an even bigger gripe is the fact that, after such a huge build up about this enemy club threat, it came to a jarringly abrupt end in a single paragraph with a quick summary of "so, here's how it ended." Come on. Show me, don't tell me. I want to experience the details of what happened, see the personal encounters between the main club and the rival MC and how it affected everyone. Just don't give me a quick blurb in an epilogue like an afterthought. What a let down.
I truly feel like the writer made the wrong call in allowing an enemy force to take over the club we were getting to know and love. It made a strong MC feel weak, and the President seem like a pushover. So disappointing. I would have preferred that they battle it out with their enemy, even if it stretched over several books. That could have been a story line I would have looked forward to following, as our guys kick some rival butt and win the day. But this ending was just sad.
It also left me wondering if I even want to continue the series now. Especially since there's already been foreshadowing of the woman in the next book, and it's another classic mean witch with a B story. I really hate it when the main female lead in a book has a personality that could break glass. And with the sad take over of the club, it's definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This could have been so great, had the author just gone in the other direction. Talk about crashing the car at the end of the race.

Lily L. James's second book in the Satan's Angels MC series, is Raiden, a fast moving story, full of octane and extra caffeine.
Raiden is bestfriend and brother- in-law to Tyrant, President of the Satan's Angels, as well as brother to Tyrant's wife Lark.
When their former Prez., the father of Tyrant, showed up at the end of book one demanding Raiden marry his daughter Widow because Tyrant was already married to Raiden's sister, he agreed to do so as long as peace remained between the two clubs.
Book two starts with the marriage of Raiden and Widow, but each of them disliking the other. widow however, does a lot better at hiding her feelings towards her new husband. Shortly after their marriage they're sent out to survey some property where Tyrant was tortured in book one and they get lost for a few hours, running out of water. The two are for es to spend the night outdoors, and to help pass the time, they talk, starting to get to know each othe. Raiden and Widow get even closer when Lark agrees to go on a girls day out with her to the gun range, and on the way home they're attacked. Widow does all she can to make sure Lark gets cc to the gun range safely, risking herself in the process, and killing a few men. It's not until til her father shows back up though that she really shows who she has given her allegiance to and just how far she'll go to keep those she considers family safe.
Ms. James does an excellent job bringing her characters to life, showing their character traits, flaws and all, for the world to see in such a way that the readers can easily distinguish who is in which club just by their description and not necessarily by their cut.
Raiden is the type of romance, women dream about. A man that is strong, protective, loving, secure in his masculinity, and is willing to take a step back to let his woman grow and do what SHE needs to do (or wants to do) to make herself stronger, happier, and just more in what way she sees fit. Then when she needs a shoulder to cry on, he's right there to hold her.
DNF at 70%. The characters were undeveloped and were always with the extreme dramatic love and hate. While we all experience extreme emotions sometimes, that’s not every emotion. Because their emotional age was like a hormonal teenager, they were not relatable. I really wanted to like Gray, but Lark was downright unlikable and selfish.
I have suffered with a loved one with cancer, and the best parts of the book involved the short journey from diagnosis to passing with her mother. That part felt genuine while nothing else did. The downside of that is the only real compassion I had for this lady was basic human compassion (no one deserves the misery of cancer). She and her husband were awful parents. I have little respect for people that quickly tell their kids to kick bricks because of who they are, or because they make adult decisions that are what a parent would choose for their child. There is no indication that the children wronged their parents or deserved to be cut off.
There is talent in the structure of the writing and I only saw one typo which is great for independent writers. Some of the adjectives were awkward as well as some of the intimate moments. I read lots of MC romance and while I find myself skipping some pages if a sex scene is 5 pages long in some books, I still felt like these two resembled teenagers fumbling through without a clue rather than at least one of them having enough experience to make you wish it was you.
It is also an MC romance missing the MC. You hear rumors about them or glimpses of them and never get to know them. While I never want to be the one tearing down someone else’s art, I really hope there is an audience for this, because I feel like there is potential here but it just didn’t hit the mark for me.
I know that Sarina Hart edited this book, and I have to say that it’s disappointing that she didn’t provide feedback for this to reach its potential.

Raiden is the VP of the Satan's Angels in Hart. He took it on after serving five years in prison when the ex Prez of the club set him up to take the fall. Now here he is at the clubhouse celebrating a marriage that he was talked into. Widow/Ella is the daughter of the ex Prez and her dad set it up for her to marry a member of the club, specifically the man he set up. No one in the club is thrilled but celebrate they do. She is made to feel like an outsider and shown that trust is lean. Raiden is especially cynical and tells her off. He makes it clear that he doesn't trust her and if their marriage didn't broker a peace between the clubs he wouldn't have married her. Now they are walking a road that is full of mistrust and pain. She is strong and holds her head high and radiates a careful facade that doesn't show weakness. But she is also a warrior in her own right. On an outing to a gun range with the current Prez's old lady they are followed, chased and terrorized by unknowns. She saves both of them. One small step and truths start to emerge. Will she and Raidan be able to come to terms about themselves and the marriage? An exciting story that will have the readers' holding their breathe!!.

😐😶😑🤬 so....I liked Tyrant he unfortunately got paired off with a weirdo. She acts like the godfather, how the fuck she knows shit....makes no sense. She is pretty much obsessed to the point where she's wasting away and makes a plan to tangle him up in a way she knows is going to fuck him up. She is immature AF... realizes when he's basically all on and tries to back off. Also fucks off with his kid. Hates him for literally no reason, just becomes a bigger bitch, ruins this whole man's mental health, comes back...with his kid, denies it is his. Like at this point that's worse than manipulating him into sleeping with you and being scared of brother's reaction ....which by the way I'm not sure if I missed it or if there wasn't a scene about it. I'm glad she at least became somewhat self aware. Basically she's a nut job and a judgy ass one. The whole deal with his dad made zero sense though. Like wtf it didn't seem like he was abusive to him as a child or anything but then he becomes a psycho and then chills out with no consequences after a weird marriage arrangement. 😑 I liked MMC which is the bulk of the rating, everyone else sucked.

Initially I struggled a bit reading this book but I’m glad I stuck with it. This is an MC version of the Brother’s Best Friend trope.
Lark and Raiden lived with their parents in a small American town, in an essentially middle class suburb. Raiden’s best friend is Gray (name not colour) who is the son of the local MC Satan’s Angels. Whilst their parents didn’t exactly approve they didn’t outright ban the friendship either, they were inseparable. When the boys both turned18 they became Prospects for the club. Raiden and Larks parents cut their son out of their life and expected their daughter to do the same.
Far too late for Lark because she was already in love with Gray, as her brother’s best friend he was always unattainable, until he wasn’t. After that everything changed.
The book focuses heavily on the emotions and fears of both Lark and Gray prior to her departure from their home town 5 years earlier. It’s not until events catch up to (their) present day that the action kicks off. Aside from that it’s actually ‘MC lite’ which I thought defeats the purpose in an MC romance. Overall a good read.
This one had potential and had a lot of things I really liked but overall, I struggled with it. I feel like there were a lot of ups and downs. There were things that I was obsessed with and couldn't put down but then there were just things that drove me NUTS. First off, the FMC has been obsessed with Tyrant since she was a kid, he was her big brother's best friend. She knew the life he grew up in, she knew what her brother was involved with because by the time she and Tyrant even hooked up her brother was already in prison. So, she knew how dangerous it was when she put everything out there and fought for her relationship with him to move on past friends or his BFF's baby sister. So, when she freaked out after she finally laid it all out for him and got what she freaking wanted just to drive me so nuts. I really wanted something more sinister to happen the next day that drove her away instead of her just being scared of his lifestyle but in the end that's all that happened, and I just couldn't get past it in the end.
I just finished Lily L. James's "Tyrant," and honestly, it was a bit of a struggle. I ended up giving it a 2-star rating, and here's why.
First off, the internal monologues? Seriously, they were endless and so repetitive. It felt like I was stuck in a loop with the same thoughts over and over again. And then there's Lark – just not a fan. She came across as really young, immature, not particularly bright, and pretty weak. It made it hard to root for her, or even really care what happened.
Gray, on the other hand, was almost too perfect. He's described as super hot and then he's just... nice enough to forgive the woman who totally lied to him? That felt a bit off. Plus, the interactions between him and his newly discovered daughter were practically nonexistent, which is pretty unrealistic for a supposedly caring guy. You'd expect a bit more of a connection there, right?
Overall, the storyline felt really all over the place. It started out with some promise, but then it just kind of veered off course and got messy. It was a bit of a letdown in the end.
I love MC Romance and the synopsis for this book spiked my interest. However, 2,5 stars perfectly describe it, this book was very uninteresting at times. First I'll start with things that bothered me: 1. The word "queen" and how many times it was mentioned just irked the sh** out of me. 2. Both main characters were bland, I get where Lark's internal struggle was coming from, but I feel like it was executed properly. Gray or Tyrant was supposed to be this badass biker, ruthless and what not, safe to say, we never see this side of him ever, actually we don't see a lot of his personality at all. 3. Was anyone else a little creeped out by how many times it was mentioned that Lark was tiny and petite and Gray was this mountain of a man?
To be completely honest, side characters pulled this one for me, aka Raiden, so I will continue the series, I am also curious how the whole Gray's dad will play out - that was a nice plot twist in a way, but I also feel not executed properly.

Tyrant is book 1 in the Satan's Angels MC series and my first read by this author. It's the great brother's best friend story of Tyrant, the President of the MC and his best friends little sister Lark. She's always been forbidden but the one time they broke the rules may be what comes back and changes everything.
"I don’t want to be your biggest mistake and your worst regret."
Lark has had Gray on a pedestal for so long. And as hard as she fights it to stay away from him, not being with him is more than she can stand. "The idea of her shamed me, but the reality of her eviscerates me."
Tyrant is absolutely fantastic! This story is full of emotion, surprises, twists, turns, danger and betrayals. I can't wait for book 2!
"In war or peace, we’re brothers. We fight together and die together, we ride together and live together.”
Soooo goood. This book is going to stay with me for a long while. Gray and Lark’s love is epic and the overarching story makes me need to read the next book because it will continue, even though there’s a HEA for the couple. There’s action, romance, and some seriousness in with the joy. Definitely five stars. Here’s the breakdown: MMC/FMC- Gray and Lark Genre- MC Romance Length- about 284 pages Heat- they do the things and use the P word when naming parts. Series? Y Safety? Y. Definitely no cheating. No SA. Triggers- language, violence, explicit erotic content, natural causes death of a parent. Tropes- Virgin Heroine, Second Chance, Secret Baby, Club Prez, Where Have All The Flowers Gone?, Best Friend’s Little Sister, Adorable Moppet, Nine.

It is a decent MC book (possible spoilers ahead). Depending on how the author handles it, this has the potential to be a great series.
I liked the twist at the end where Raiden has to marry the enemy's daughter. It makes me excited for book 2. I also like the fact they have to let 5 members of the enemy's MC join their club. That should make things interesting
I felt like the middle parts of this book were huge filler pieces. It just dragged on for too long. h's whole reason for not telling H about their daughter was a big let-down. I was expecting some big "ah ha" moment. She was worried about his MC lifestyle. Huh? That was such a lame reason, especially considering her brother was a part of the MC and he was serving 5 years in prison because of the MC.
H is an Okay main character but he never really came off as a president of an MC club. No way. He seemed way too soft.
Tyrant is the first book in the Satan’s Angels MC series. I absolutely love reading MC romance stories, I always find the storylines to quite fascinating, filled with action packed scenes and romance. Tyrant has become one of my many favorite MC romance books that I have read this year. The main male character is a typical alpha male one would see in MC romances. The main female character I thought she was quite relatable and fascinating. Author Lily L. James has created an amazing MC romance book and I’m looking forward to reading more amazing MC romances by her. Tyrant is a MC romance that I would encourage other readers to checkout.

Lark has had to stay away from Gray/Tyrant since her brother went to jail due the club. He is her date for the senior prom. Months later she confesses her feelings but after a night together she she leaves town and asks him to accept her decision.
Now five years later she is back and town and with their daughter. How could she have kept this from him? Him being the man he is, he just wants to love her, he is not mad at her. She has her own fears and there is something awful from the club's past that may bring he fears true.
This is a the start of series and it does give the couple a HEA, the drama and danger continue in the next book, Raiden.

Tyrant and Lark. Hes her brothers best friend. Hes the prez of the MC. They have a history and she has the proof that he doesnt know is his. She blames the MC for her brother being in jail. When she returns for her sick mother she has in tow a daughter. Tyrant knows shes his but Lark says no. He knows different and hes not letting her go this time. Theres a lot of chaos that brings the story together and though their journey ends the storyline continues. Cant wait for the next book this is going to be a great series.

Tyrant is a dark, gritty, and engaging introduction to the Satan’s Angels MC . It’s a story that will leave you breathless, conflicted, and utterly hooked. Lily L. James delivers a powerful and intense romance that pushes boundaries and explores the complex nature of love in the face of darkness. This is not a lighthearted read, but for fans of dark romance and MC stories, Tyrant, is a compelling and unforgettable experience. Be sure to check out trigger warnings before diving in. I’m eager to see where the series goes from here.
