Liam had everything figured out, finish school, and secure an NHL contract. It all seemed so simple until he met Charlotte. The girl who was supposed to be just one night of fun that led to so much more. Now Liam will have to choose to follow his dreams or listen to his heart. They always say everything happens for a reason, but what if it just wasn’t meant to be?
I'm ok with insta love if its done well. However in this case it moved way to fast. It honestly felt like a sequel not a stand alone. Lottie just got on my nerves she was whiny and rude and over all just a real bitch. This took the miscommunication trope way to far and it felt like I was reading a wattpad book written in 2012.
Even while I enjoyed the story overall, there were still some messed-up parts that I absolutely despised, so I'm hesitant between giving it a two or a three-star rating. But I think this book has the potential to grow into a full-length novel, and I think the writing could have been done better.
I really hope this book is a joke? I mean, Little Bean, "give me that honey"...
I found myself cringing and skipping 80% of the book. It starts out with Liam and Lottie meeting at a party, they get together, she leaves cause another girl marshes in and she's pregnant. Voila.
So when she and Liam find out she's pregnant, he just lets her sleep. Ok, fine. BUT they just call her friends to let her know she's pregnant. Fine, again. BUT HOW DID SHE ONLY REALISE AFTER SUCH A LONG TIME SHE HAS TO TELL HER PARENTS?!?!?! MISS GIRL.
They aren't together at this point, they're friends until they want to fck again and she is basically screaming at him to fck her please. Ew. When he wanted her to c💗m on her tongue, he told her to give him her honey... I repeat, her honey... Do I need to say more?
She calls the baby, Little Bean and I quite literally wanted to die right there.
I love pregnancy romances and insta love but it has to be done well. This felt like a shitty wattpad story that was written by a horny 14 year old.
The communication and dialogue in this book also felt like 13-15 year olds were talking? Honestly idgi.

Freezing the Puck de T.D Lua Serie Ballad U libro 1
Argumento:
This book gave me the ick. Liam gave me the ick within the first 2 pages of his pov bc “he wanted to keep his options open” 🤮 . Lottie gave me the ick for being a dumbass and clumsy. They don’t know how to communicate at all. Their break up could have been solved immediately but it took 2 months!!!!! How the f did she fall for Bridget’s scheme. She has no brain cells and immediately assumed the worst of Liam. She knew his background and still chose to be with him but then automatically assumes the worst and does not let him speak/defend/explain himself and ran! Liam could have told her the truth about Bridget’s lies but he made the decision to give her space and let her assume the worst in the break up. His friends had an audio proving his innocence and they didn’t speak up about it sooner and still Liam didn’t want to tell Lottie about it because he wanted to avoid stressing her??? WTF. Also him assuming she would move across the country with a baby for his dream and leaving behind her friends, family, education and her support… Red flag. Conclusion, they are two idiot kids having a baby and I feel sorry for the baby.
We have a surprise pregnancy hockey romance that I literally devoured in a day!
Lottie and Liam have a one night stand that results in a pregnancy. I love that Liam doesnt act like a typical jock that wants nothing to do with the pregnancy but he is actually there for everything.
I love their character developments and how their relationship blossoms. Liam may just be one of my top book boyfriends after reading this
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. My love for sports romance led to me choosing Freezing the Puck. I knew nothing about the author, but the premise intrigued me leading to this moment.
"Freezing the Puck" was an adorable read. It caught me off guard to discover that this book featured the accidental pregnancy trope. While I don't mind this trope, it would have been helpful to have a heads-up.
The story introduces Liam and Lottie. Liam is hockey player who shies away from serious relationships. That changed, however, when he met Lottie. He intended for their initial encounter to be an one off situation, however after spending time with her he wanted more. However, the appearance of one of Liam's former conquest that night led to Lottie giving him the cold shoulder. Then she discovered that despite using protection she was pregnant tying both their lives together.
Liam's decision to step up to his responsibility despite the changes to his goals such a choice would make was admirable. He was all in from the get go. I liked Lottie for the most part. However, there were a few instances where she acted immaturely.
The romance failed to wow me. It didn't take long for them to fall in love and the whole process lacked authenticity. Liam pulled out all the stops to prove to Lottie how much he cared. Despite this she had trust issues and her insecurities aided in making the situation worse. All these issues contributed to the third act break up which never add value to the story. The drama could have been avoided if Lottie gave Liam a chance to explain. It took the intervention of his friends to turn things around.
Verla Bond and Christian Black narrated the audiobook. This was my first experience with the work of both narrators. They did a great job with the narration. They complimented each other and their collaboration brought life to the story. Their voices for the characters sounded authentic and one could feel the emotions rippling through the story. I would listen to them again. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
Wow, I didn't remember when the last time I rated 1/5 star for a book was. Honestly, I thought I was getting better with choosing my next read since time was limited and life was too short. Apparently, I was fooled by myself by picking this one up only because I adored its special edition cover from Booktastic Blonde. So, folks, lesson was learnt: Never judge a book by its cover!!!
Liam and Charlotte's story did not work for me AT ALL. I wish there were trigger warnings or trope reveals somewhere in this book so at least the readers knew what they were getting themselves into before diving into it blindly. Miraculously, this book managed to combine all of the tropes/topics I hated most together, including surprise pregnancy, breeding (really disliked this word especially when describing a couple), instalove, overreacting and jealous female main character, and an immature male main character.
To sum this book up: Liam and Charlotte hooked up after hitting on each other at a party and then she was pregnant and they got together to have more sex and he married her because they had had "connection" since the first mind-blowing sex and they were deeply, madly in love ever after. THE END.
Let me start with the narrators: they were impeccable - they brought the characters to life and I felt their emotions! Absolutely amazing. The storyline was beautiful, the FMC and MMC are both in university and it starts out as your typical hockey romance but with a surprise that changes both their lives. Loved how the MMC stood by the FMC no matter what - did want to hurt the puck bunny (more than once) but enjoyed the story. I'm not a fan of a third act break-up and I saw this one coming a mile away but atleast the story ended with an HEA. Will definitely be reading or listening to the rest of the books in this series. If you're in the mood for an entertaining hockey romance, then this one is definitely for you. A solid 4* listen for me.
Lottie and Liam hook up at a party, and Lottie thinks it will be a one night stand. But Liam is all in from the jump, and then when it turns out their night together led to Lottie being pregnant, he is immediately supportive and all in.
Enter crazy obsessed puck bunny who tries to ruin everything. Thankfully that doesn’t last too long, and there’s never really a doubt that these two belong together.
Each of the 3 guys in the series falls HARD for his girl, but there really was something about Liam that was my favorite. And having read the series out of order and knowing where he and Lottie end up long term just had me smiling the whole time I was reading.
This was so cute and awesome I literally was kicking my feet and giggling all the time. Liam is just a dream and he and Charlotte were so perfekt together. Loved it. But you want to know what I didn’t love? Bridget. Hate that bitch. She’s just the worst human being even. Even Satan would bow to her that’s how much of a bitch she is!!!!!!! As much as I loved it, it was cringe af, especially the smut scenes and that they couldn’t go one page without saying „little bean“
This is a time where I wish Goodreads had .5 star ratings bc this was like 3.5. Not fully a 4 BUT it had so much potential. If it was like 30 pages longer it could’ve been 4 stars. The ending was so abrupt and so many parts of the plot were just left wide open 🤨 for a quick chick flick read it was not bad 🤷🏻♀️
3.5⭐️ Nice quick, easy read! Really enjoyed it. A little predictable in places (nothing wrong with that though) and I would have loved an epilogue but hopefully they’ll be more to come in this series.
Genuint speechless över hu dåli denhe bokin e. Om du har ett skit koncept så måst de va bra skrivet elo vice versa. dehe e värre än att skaffa barn me en fisk, ja blir typ arg över att människan ens våga publicer de. like???
As a debut novel, I do think Lottie and Liam’s story was cute and fun and short. I do love a hockey and pregnancy trope and the idea of a found family with friends. I thought the book was steamy, sweet, cute and fun. I do however wish the ending wasn’t as short? I think a longer epilogue would’ve been nicer to see. We spend so much of the book with her pregnant and we didn’t get to see them interact with their baby so I just thought maybe a longer/not as abrupt ending would’ve been cool and the third act breakup felt a little, didn’t need it? But that’s just my personal opinion, overall it is cute and I think the series has great potential with the fun side characters we saw
I really liked this story! I loved the plot and I am so excited for the next books as their stories were set up so well!! Can’t wait to read more by this author
this was sweet and cute with a low angst rating ! that’s pretty much all i can say … except that little miscommunication was very bloody annoying thank u very much
This was a great quick read. I really enjoyed this book and liked the characters. They were both patient and loving and I was all for the instant love troupe.
I came across this book on booktok and decided to give it a go… I usually am surprised at the good reads I find but for me this isn’t the case. I’m a fan of hockey romance but this book just seemed predictable to me…
