Nora Grier is a college student with her life mapped out to the minute. She makes time for class, her minimum wage job and studying, but definitely not guys, not after last time.
Gavin Rowley uses his money and power to keep everyone at a distance. He has learned from painful experience that when people learn the secrets of his past they tend to run in the other direction.
When Nora, late for a class, rounds a corner and runs head first in to Gavin's hard chest, neither of their lives are ever going to be the same. Gavin finds himself breaking all of his rules and revealing far more of himself to Nora than he ever intended. Nora tries to ignore Gavin and stick to her life plan, but her desire for this distant and damaged man is overwhelming.
Gavin and Nora both know from past experience that breaking their own rules ends in tears, but sometimes breaking the rules feels so good. Will they be able to control themselves, or will they surrender to their desires and live with the consequences, however disastrous those consequences might be?

When I'm not writing sexy contemporary romance I'm reading it. I haven't been lucky enough to find my own dark and brooding billionaire just yet, but a girl can dream! I like getting outdoors with friends and have a regular day job that I enjoy, but hope to be a full time writer someday soon.
I got this from Amazon since it was free and the synopsis was intriguing, but I'm afraid that the synopsis was the best part.
The writing shows promise, but there were so many grammatical and punctuation errors that it was distracting. "Cant" should be "can't"; wont should be "won't". As an editor, it was strange for me to see those errors. The dialogue punctuation was off as well--something basic that should be correct, even without a professional editor.
I totally get that romance/erotica has an element of fantasy to it as well--i.e. the falling in lust quickly, and the brooding billionaires--but there were just a few too many cliche things for me. Getting into a car with a stranger, MCs sharing the same exact penchant for something "rare", continual mention of intense green eyes, rich and perky roommate... With more time for development, I think this story could have had some decent footing, but it fell flat for me.
I really wanted to like this book. The heroine is a library school student and that is of much interest to me as a librarian. The hero is a brooding billionaire. These are two things that should have combined to make a story that I enjoyed. Should have, but didn't. There were so many other things with this book that could not be overcome for me, not the least of which is how much the author absorbed Fifty Shades. The sex scenes were hot, I will say that. However, Gavin struck me as a truly despicable person and I didn't have long enough in this book to learn enough about his back story to change my opinion of him. Perhaps future installments in the series could help me through this crisis, but I was not able to get invested enough in the characters that I feel even remotely interested in finding out. If you really enjoyed the Fifty Shades books and just want something to kill an afternoon, you would probably enjoy this novella. If you require more dimension to your characters and despise cliffhanger endings, I'd recommend giving this a pass.
this is a quick read and the beginnings of a good series. there was good detail but also some mystery. overview: Lexi and Nora share an apartment. Nora is a college student who is running late and run into a hot guy. who later gives her a ride to class and the start to talk. their connection is a mystery but the attraction is there based on their small encounter. he gives her a surprise. she freaks and crys thinking he is making fun of her and hurting her. later their heat builds until they reunite in the sauna. a hot man, hot attraction, and things start to change for both of them. I surrender to this entertaining sexy fantasy tale!
A good start to a multiple small book sexy romance. The characters are likable. I especially enjoy the shenanigans of the male protagonist in one particular hot steamy scene. The writing style flows. The characters actions and emotions are understandable; still, there is enough mystery and interest to entice one to continue reading.
Hot and steamy but...why is this separated into two books? Part 1 is free and Part 2 is 2.99 on amazon. Usually I never mind paying for a book, but not when they are 40 page books. I guess I'll just use my imagination to come up with my own conclusion.
There were so many proofreading errors that I really couldn't get into the book. Add to that a heroine Too Stupid To Live and a hero who is an omnipresent cliché since "50 Shades," and you've got a "I can't believe I wasted my time on this" book.
Finished this book in under an hour, could have been a good story but the spelling mistakes ect made it very difficult to concentrate, I could have left it half way through but soldiered on......if I had paid for this book I would have been sorely disappointed.
