Marla Danner wants nothing more than to start a family with her husband, Dennis. But things don't always go as planned. In a moment of desperation, Marla invites the spirits of two young children into her home, using a Ouija board. It proves an easy way to communicate with these new children in her life, Anna and Benjamin.
Everything appears perfect for Marla until things start to turn upside down and she soon realizes she might have opened a door that seems to lead straight to hell.
Now, she will have to solve the mystery of the murders of both Anna and Benjamin, the ghosts that have attached themselves to her, while fighting an on going demon possession.

For six years, I lived in a house that some would say was haunted. I've never seen a ghost, but if they exist, there's one in that home! After moving away and regaining some of my nerves, I decided it would be neat to write a novel about my experiences. But even though I lived there for a long while, I didn't have quiet enough for a full length novel. That's where my love for history comes in to play. I've watched countless spooky movies and read even more ghost themed books, but they're pretty much all the same. My book is a little different because I decided to begin with the history of the house. Many people come and go, but the spirits that reside there never leave. The reader gets the background on who the ghosts are and what they want, how they came to be ghosts, even. I had no idea that I'd end up with so many people liking "Don't Say Her Name", but because I've had such wonderful feedback and reviews, I've decided to write more! Aside from writing, I love thrift shopping and yard sales, teaching the youth class at my church, making stuff and being with my awesome children. They are so amazing! As you'll read on my dedication pages, I'm also in love with Jesus and He is my Salvation and Strength. I'm also proud to be a resident of North Carolina, the setting for all of my novels.

In this book Marla and Dennis have been trying to have a child. Marla is a teacher, Dennis builds homes. After learning that Marla is once again not pregnant, Dennis is ready to quit trying, but he can't deny Marla anything. Marla takes a few days off to get herself back on track and she calls her Goth friend Rimmie. They decide to do something they haven't done in years. Tombstone rubbings. Rimmie finds a huge one of a young woman with lots of writing on it. Marla finds 2 small ones, children, brother and sister - Anna and Benjamin. The children are there as ghosts and follow her home. Marla thinks she sees flashes of children and hears running and giggles. When she tells Rimmie, she brings over a Ouija board to try and communicate with the children. It works. But Marla unknowingly invites a bad spirit into her home. The children are terrified of it, and the "bad man" attaches itself to Dennis. Marla has him arrested. With Rimmie's help Marla finds 3 people who know more about spirits than she does. The clock is ticking. Can the "bad man" be gotten rid of before he hurts Marla through Dennis, or before it hurts the children.
Another story to show that Ouija Boards are not games. There are rules and consequences to reaching out to the other side.

Good book.

Real good story. I enjoyed the character of Rimmie. I'm also glad that good won out over evil which is not always the case any longer.
