Librarian's note: This is an alternate cover edition of ASIN B00JJ1Y2YQ.

Vincent Maggy can no longer cope with society. Bowing out, he stocks up his apartment with canned and dried goods, and barricades himself from the world. Vincent cuts himself off not only from all human contact, but the light of the sun.

While the world moves on without him, virtually at the speed of light, time stands still inside Vincent's apartment. With bugs and roaches making their way inside, he becomes one with the larva, the disease, and the darkness. Finally, after months of living blindly, he decides to pull the boards off the windows, only to find that the world he left behind is shockingly different.

Again, I can't say enough about the darkness of some of these stories. This is another heartbreaker, but very real and imaginative to me. Brandon can really capture some pain and heartache of being alone and exaggerating it.
