Excerpt:
His hand is so hot it feels like it’s burning. Almost unconsciously, I lean back into his touch, closing my eyes.
“You feel it too, huh?”
I can only nod my head. His fingers run along my shoulder, across my collarbone. Every place he touches tingles with an electric energy that I can’t understand. The desire in me knots up my chest and stomach. It twists me until I’m burning hot between my thighs.
One of his hands kneads my neck, his fingers massaging the tense muscles there slowly, deeply. My lips fall apart in a silent moan. It feels so good. Is this how it would feel, to have someone love me? To have someone there to protect me, cradle me in his arms?
His other hand is still moving, and I can only let out a small gasp as his fingers slip over my shoulder and run across the top of my chest, pressing lightly against my collarbone. Every touch is electric, and when I close my eyes I can see the shocks as he touches me, the sharp tingle that starts at my skin and runs down deep inside of me.
There. Spikes of pure white energy. They pulse in a soft static fuzz along the places his fingertips drag. They penetrate, moving along my nerves as he strokes me. White fireworks exploding in the sky behind my eyelids. Bright white shocks crashing through my system when he touches me with his thumb on the soft patch of skin behind my ear.
His fingers run up my neck. One finger brushes my earlobe and I shudder with pleasure. He takes my chin in his hand and tilts my head back toward him. I open my eyes and see him watching me with an expression that is predatorial, but, strangely, I don’t feel danger. I can see that he wants me just as much as I want him.
“Bindi.” His voice is raw with desire. “Can I...”
I don’t know what will happen. I don’t know what I want to happen. But I nod anyway. Tonight, after learning so much about him, I can’t help but give him my trust.
He turns me to face him, taking me in his arms, and he gently presses his lips to mine...

Warning: This is a sexually explicit shifter erotic romance! For mature audiences only!
Aubrey Rose lives in sunny San Diego, where she likes to lay around in a hammock reading her favorite romances. When she’s not writing steamy stories, she can be found dancing naked in front of the mirror to Abba while her cat watches disdainfully.
This series MUST be read in order. If you haven't read Book 1, Shifting Fates, I suggest you do so before continuing this review.
Cage and Bindi have both returned to their normal routines but continue to be fascinated by thoughts of each other. As the military slowly begins to tighten the noose on both the humans and shifters who remain in containment zone the entire situation is becoming more desperate.
The plot thickens as Cage notices that things aren't quite adding up on base and silently begins to question the decisions his general is making. Several interesting developments are either introduced or hinted at, which drew me deeper into the story than ever!
After several close calls, Bindi is more determined than ever to protect and provide for her young charges but must face the reality that she may not be able to continue to do so forever. As she wrestles with the increasing military restrictions rations become harder to obtain and greater risks must be taken in order to survive.
Desperate circumstances bring Cage and Bindi back together and the chemistry between them begins to reach a boiling point!
We got to know Bindi really well in Shifting Fates and loved that we get to see more of Cage in this story! Flawlessly developed, Rose and Simonenko are an unstoppable writing duo; prepare to be blown away at the progression of this fast paced paranormal fantasy adventure! With an ending that took my breath away, the bar has once again been raise and I can hardly wait for more.
A copy of Shifting Fates: Uncaged was provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review.
You know that book you read that is so good you need to talk about it but there is no way to do it without spoiling the ending? That is this book.
This book is filled with emotional roller coaster rides as it weaves further into Bindi or Cage lives, the danger, their awakening attraction to each other and it has a surprising end that I did not see coming.
What I find more interesting and even exciting is the writing style. Their writing is so enriched with each characters emotions and thoughts that the surroundings and things going on in the background were just enhancements to the story not taking over the main focus. This leaves a person to fully absorb all the emotions these characters displayed.

Shifting Fates: Uncaged is the second book in the serial urban fantasy shifter romance. I enjoyed the second installment more than I did the first because the scene had already been set and the players were already laid out. So in this book, we just got to dive right into the good stuff. I really enjoyed this installment because so much of it focused on what I wanted more of in the first book- Bindi and Cage! Lots and lots of Bindi and Cage goodness.
Cage really comes to some realizations about himself and about his feelings for Bindi. I didn't expect him to realize what he felt so fast. After the last book, I thought that he would still be denying it to himself that he had some feelings for the girl. But luckily the next time they met up, he was so understanding and he didn't shy away from their connection. Neither of them did. It was great to see.
Bindi took some real chances in this book too. She stepped way out of her comfort zone for Cage. Some of it was out of her control, but some of it she made the choice to include him on. I was silently cheering her on the whole time.
I am super interested to see where the series is going to go from here. I love the creepy setting and backdrop that the story takes place in. The world building is so impressive for such short serials. That is a testament to the great writers. Everyone knows how much I love Nadia Simonenko, but I am also impressed with Aubrey Rose. I picked up the first book in one of her other series and I can't wait to give it a try. I still think that readers will benefit from grabbing a boxed set of this serial series when it is out and reading them all one right after another. It will feel more like a real length novel that way. That being said, I am super interested in this series now and I will probably continue on reading each installment as it is released just because I want to see what is going to happen.
Okay, I see from the blurb on Uncaged that Shifting Fates is a serial :) And good news the whole thing is out, so if you wait until a serial is finished before reading you are in luck. So if you aren’t familiar with serials, they must be read in order or you will have no idea what is going on :)
Okay, my like of this new shifter world has turned to love :) I couldn’t put this down, and I was annoyed when people kept trying to talk to me while I was reading…lol par for the course. I really connected with Bindi while reading this and with Cage too!! Some things happened that I didn’t expect and one thing that I did expect just didn’t expect it so soon. I have a few other suspicions too about what will happen in the future, but they are mine and I’m not sharing :) As always I do not like sharing details of what happens because I think you should enjoy your own journey, but lots and lots of action in this part.
I recommend this serial series to my book loving friends who would enjoy a post-apocalyptic shifter world like you have never seen before. Now I’m off to read the next part!! YAY!!!
**Copy received from author in exchange for an honest review**
This series is such a tease as they are quite short and I read it within 2 hours but it kept me wanting more and I absolutely LOVED it!!
The second book sees Bindi and Kit getting arrested for stealing food rations and put in a stinky, smelling prison where the prisoner hardly get fed. Cage finds out and vows to set them free. He is starting to question what the military are doing and if it's the right thing any more. Bindi and Cage can't stop thinking about each other and their attraction is only hotting up. There is a shocking discovery that throws Bindi and Cage together again and turns up the heat on their ever growing attraction.
Really enjoyed this books and the series so far. Looking forward to starting book 3 straight away as I'm so obsessed with this storyline and what's going to happen next. Great writing and an excellent read. If you haven't read this series yet, start with Shifting Fates, book 1 before you read this one. Highly recommend!
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. Bindi is back and with Kit, they are trying to get food. Being shifters they can't stay in the food lines and get enough for them all. They will be discovered. When Kit gets caught for stealing, they are taken to the detention center and placed in a cell. When Cage hears that Bindi is in prison with her daughter, he has to help them. With a little help from Emma, a fellow soldier, they are able to get them both out. Cage takes them home, where he learns that Kit is a shifter, he is shocked. But he has a secret that even he didn't know. What will happen when he learns his secret? Will he continue to help Bindi and the other kids? What will the soldiers do when they begin more sweeps to hunt and kill shifters? Aubrey Rose and Nadia Simonenko are doing a great job with this series and I am loving it.
Uncaged, book 2 of Shifting Fates takes us exactly where one left off, but in this one Bindi and Kit are arrested for stealing and sent to a prison that is really nothing more than a holding area for extermination. Cage learns of the arrest by his friend Emma who was the arresting officer and quickly goes into action. He is determined to get them out of that place. With Emma’s help he manages to do just that and with more time with Bindi his feeling grow stronger. Is there a way a soldier and a shifter can make something of themselves in this world? When the whole world changes and shifters are created from the radioactive ash, will it be the soldiers against the shifters? Or will all of mankind eventually be changed. When one soldier who hate shifters for killing his brother finds out he's a shifter as well, what will he do next. Looking forward to the next books in the series.
Very original story line with a new twist When the whole world changes and shifters are created from the radioactive ash, will it be the soldiers against the shifters? Or will all of mankind eventually be changed. When one soldier who hate shifters for killing his brother finds out he's a shifter as well, what will he do next. He saves a person who is a shifter, now is told to exterminate them, but he's falling for her. Everything he believed is put to the test. Well written and very entertaining as well as very original story line. High praise to the author. Looking forward to the next books in the series
I received free copy for an honest review. It's amazing what sparks and anger can bring out in someone. Cage has helped protect Bindi and Kit from death but he still doesn't know they are shifters. When he meets the other members of Bindi's family recognition sets in and forces Cage's inner beast to come out. I really enjoyed the relationships developing between all the characters. Children can unite any species. However emotions like hatred feed a beast and passion feeds a soul. Wonderful!!! I just wish there was more now.
You need to read this series in order. I suggest reading Book 1, Shifting Fates before you read Book 2, Shifting Fates: Uncaged.
This book starts off where book 1 ended without missing a beat. Aubrey Rose and Nadia Simonenko do it again! They have the ability to grab hold of their readers from the very beginning and keeps you on a roller coaster of emotions. They make you feel every emotion that the characters are going through. I read book 1 and book 2 in one day and I need more. Can't wait to see where these authors take this series!
I love the premise of this series. It's an original take on shifters that I've never read before and I was hooked from the first story. This installment has an intriguing twist and I am anxiously awaiting the next one to see how things progress. This book is definitely worth the purchase.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This second book was very eye opening for the characters of the serial. What I discovered about them was very captivating. I love the buildup in all areas including the romance department. I am definitely ready for book three!
This review is for books 1 thru 5. I give this series a solid 4.5. This was a great series. The storyline is amazing and the characters are wonderful. The series kept getting better as I read each book. Once I started reading I could not put the books down. I highly recommend this series!
Bindi and Cage 's story continues with twists and turns you won't see coming from the very beginning. The story is completely original and unpredictable.
The right kind of intrigue that grabs your attention and keeps it until the end. This is not a short story. For anyone that loves shifters, a little chemistry, and a plot that keeps thickening.
Gawd, I love serials. The books come out quicker so you don't really have time to forget the story. And, oh how I am loving this one. There are twists and turns around every corner here.
