She’s afraid of love and he doesn't believe in it. Magnolia Freeman travels the world trying to outrun the pain of her parents’ sudden deaths. As much as Magnolia dreads returning home she can’t deny her favorite cousin’s requests to help plan her wedding. Cooper Smith believes no good can come from love. As far as he’s concerned a “relationship” shouldn’t last more than a night—or two nights if it’s a holiday weekend. Despite his skepticism about love he volunteers his restaurant for his best friend's wedding. Magnolia and Cooper give in to their attraction since neither of them are looking for anything serious . When their fling turns into something more Magnolia leaves but can’t get the heartbroken Cooper out of her mind or her heart, especially when there’s a permanent reminder of him growing inside her. Can Magnolia and Cooper get beyond their fears to find someone to love?
This is the second book that I have read by this author and I must say that the issues that I had with the first book aren't in this one. I also like the characters better. I will say what stopped the full fledged 5 star is that Magnolia was a bit of a child and should have been in therapy to learn coping skills. Perhaps if the reader got to "see" her growing as an individual she would be more likeable as a character.
A very wholesome romance, I loved Magnolia and Cooper. They were very funny, I enjoyed them more than Jake and Diane. It was an overall enjoyable story.
APB Perspective Reviews : I had a hard time concentrating with this book . I'm not sure when this couple fell in love or how because they had no chemistry. There conversations seemed forced . The author did not make feel the emotions felt in this book I have a hard time believing that Magnolia and Copper ever loved each other.
What a wonderful follow-up in a series that's proving that love can happen at first sight. I love that Cooper kept it honest and up front with Magnolia and didn't bite his tongue when angry 😠. The writer captured the feelings of new love and the fun of realizing you have fallen in love with that person. The story moved at a leisurely pace that lets you enjoy every scene. This is definitely a book that could be for your next book club selection.
The sequence and flow from Serenity’s story to the next sibling is astounding. After reading the first two books I thought well it will be like other writers same stuff But what a lovely surprise. Keep them books coming they are refreshing
This is my second read by this author, but my first completed book using the new Amazon Unlimited program (which I can already tell, I'm going to love!). I read Jack and Diane, the first book in this series, last year, and had been looking out for this addition to the series, as I just knew that Magnolia was going to be a little fireball, and I was right. She did however meet her match with Cooper, the muscle man, charmer who finally broke her resolve. They both are trying to deal with loss, yet on a different level, and they are both running away from what they perceive will cause them more pain and loss, which is love and commitment. The planning and coordination of Jack and Diane's wedding is what brings them together, and the author did a great job weaving all the characters together, as well as setting the stage for future couples whose lives we will get to explore. Thanks Lena for a nice, feel good read, and Thanks Amazon for giving readers this great new program!
I found Ms. Hampton through my sister. I read Jack and Diane. Read it in one day. Told my mother about it and gifted the book to her. Was waiting for Someone to Love to come out. When I found out it was released (Thank You Sis) I purchased it for my mother. She loved it!!!!!! Finally I purchased it for myself. Wow!!!!!! I Fell in Love with Noli and Cooper. I like Noli's independence and Cooper's Determination. The secondary characters drew me into the story. Because of the thoroughness of these characters I could picture the settings in my head while reading. I Laughed so hard at the Paint Scene. Patiently waiting on Ryan and Amare Story. Keep up the good work.
This is Magnolia Freeman and Cooper Smith's story. We were first introduced to them in Jack and Diane. Their initial meeting and subsequent fling led to the unexpected.
Magnolia lost her parents in an accident, Cooper had an absentee father and as a result they both had commitment issues. When Cooper confessed his love, she ran. A few months later she showed up with a big surprise. The author did a good job of building the characters and giving them their HEA.
To be succinct, I enjoyed reading this sweet, yet spicy sophomoric release by the talented Ms. Lena Hampton.
The characters were touchable, and the dialog was fairly good. My only issues with this book concern a small amount of lag and areas where the story didn't flow as well as it should have.
Other than that, reading this book was a great way to get lost for 3+ hours...
Ms. Lena Hampton, you did it again. What a lovely story. A read that was funny but yet touching. I never wanted to put it down. The romance itself was steamy for this couple. More romance please. I don't mean gross . More romance. I don't want to give out anything but PLEASE don't forget about Kayla and Trevor. I would like to know his deal too. I still was wanting more. It was worth the buy. Can't wait for Ryan and Amara.
I truly enjoyed this book, it is the follow on book to Jack & Diane. This story focuses on Diane's cousin Magnolia and Jack's best friend Cooper. I would definitely recommend this book. It tells of Magnolia's grief, and Cooper 's way of dealing with his issues of having an absentee father. Both have commitment issues! An all round great read.
There were a lot of hardships, hurt, and pain from Noli and Cooper's past. I actually liked it. I liked the sarcasm between the couple, the denial of their love at first, and the cute proposal of marriage. Their life was complicated which is so true to life. some situations are just complicated. In the end, things worked out. A good read.
Really enjoyed this. Lena really told an amazing story of love and forgiveness. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone. Great job! can't wait for your next release.
I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. It was thorough and flowed well. There were very funny moments that had me laughing out loud as well as the serious. Well Written Ms. Hampton.
