Brelaya always thought she could never leave the only man and life she once knew. When an opportunity presents itself in the darkest of times, will she take it and run for the hills? Or will she be stuck being Jace’s personal punching bag?
Whew… When Loving You Hurts was short but powerful. The emotions felt so real, and that twist at the end? I did not see it coming. A tough but necessary read that really sticks with you.
This was a ok read just confused about the storyline…like what was the purpose of the sister revealing to her that she knew about her disease?? I mean it was never mentioned again, nobody was infected so what was the purpose? Some of the story kinda didn’t make sense.
Brelaya and Yahir, The Game We Played for Our Love
Oh this was a real good short read!!!…I thought Jace and Brelaya were married until she said he proposed to her!!!… Jace balls were real big, because when he walked in with Brearya and told Laya that she was moving in and ahead had to take care of her, I was ready to tussle!!!…That fact that Brearya was so comfortable being in her sister’s house like that had my blood boiling!!!…But the reveal of her secret shut her mouth!!!… Laya told her not to eat any of her food or drink any of her drinks and she did, baby, Laya said her plan was coming together!!!… I was so proud of Armel though, because he let Jace know, you my daddy, not Brelaya’s daddy, so you can get these paws about my momma!!!… I knew there was something going on btwn Yahir and Brelaya when he complimented her!!!…You could feel that chemistry off the pages of this book!!!… Jace thought Brelaya played the fool for him, but he found out he was the actual fool!!!… I love this book so much!!!…
Not going to rate this because I dnf’d at 18%. It was just too vain for me. It started off really good the first few pages, then the author couldn’t stop name dropping expensive labels and how much money they were spending. Turned me off so bad.
I get she could have been trying to tell a “everything that glitters isn’t gold “ narrative, but it gave me the ick. I usually avoid books like this because they come off immature. In a real life scenario, I would walk away from anyone that sat and designer name dropped and bragged about how much money they got and spending.
This book was full of drama. One man and two sisters. It was a little confusing at times. If main character had a lot of power and the man would get scared at times then why did she take the beatings.
Karma karma karma , I’m so glad Breyala had a back up plan and had Yahir lol priceless. I just wish it was longer because I wanted her sister and Jace to suffer even more lmao
The ending wasn’t definitely a plot twist and not expected. Good read. Once I started I couldn’t stop reading. There were a few grammatical errors, but didn’t take away from the message of the book.
This book left me with so many unanswered questions. How was Brelaya the mastermind behind Jace illegal operations? Lord, I need a part two with answers. Overall this book kept me entertained.

The storyline was good and was a page turner but some parts of this book rubbed me the wrong way and it wasn’t the DV. Character development was okay I wanted more from them but also felt like the book didn’t need to be as long as it was.
Now that’s how you come out on top! Brelaya took a lot through her relationship with Jace and I hated how he treated her once he thought he was in love with someone else but the grass is never greener on the other side! Brelaya great job…. Must read
