Being haunted isn't always a bad thing... as long as you can survive it.
Jacynda Johnson is trying to start over again. After a traumatic break-up with her rock star boyfriend, Billy Jakes, which devastated her, things seem to finally be looking up. Being promoted to the managing position at the upscale salon she works at, she is finally able to move out of the apartment she shared with Billy and away from the bad memories, as well as the good ones that she still longs for. She is determined to erase him from her life and make new memories—better memories—without him. As luck would have it, she comes across a small house in one of the historic neighborhoods in Knoxville, TN, that seems perfect for her; it's close to her work, within her budget, and having been empty for a while, it's like it was just waiting for her to buy it.
5-out-of-5 stars. I really love this book, but when I first read it, it was quite boring, but afterwards it got interesting. This girl name, Jacynda Johnson broke up with her rocker boyfriend, Billy Jakes. She moved out of his apartment and moved into a small house in a historic neighborhood. The house was like calling for her, but she didn't know that the house was actually calling for her. She moved and what happened was she experience paranormal things, she called ghost hunters and all. She then moved into a guy that she met name, Chad. Chad let her stay in his condo.
I loved HAUNTED so much that I read it twice!! I don't know how Janae does it... she has made me fall in love with the couples in her books! First... Beau and Malyn (FOR ALWAYS and FOR NOW)... and now... Chad and Jacynda. This novella is an excellent read! It was packed with heart-pounding twist and turns!! A must..must.. must read for young adult or 'ageless' adult.
All I can say is O MY!!! I have had this book and just haven't had the time to read it. Well.... I finally did. O MY!!! It had me on the edge of my seat. Over and Over!! If you like books that makes your hair on your arm stand up. THIS IS IT!! Thinking about re-reading it around Halloween!! LOL
"Haunted" started out as a story that I wrote one weekend while in a funk writing "For Now" (book two in my For Always series). It was an idea that had been floating around in my mind and I decided to export it to words and put it up on Wattpad. It ended up becoming a featured story on there, and at the prompting of several Wattpad readers, I decided to publish it. Since it started out at just under 30,000 words, I added some chapters to it, giving voice to Jacynda (Ja-sin-da) Johnson's fellow lead character and (hauntingly handsome) paranormal investigator, Chad Bales. This story has gone from a few spooky paranormal events that haunted a mysterious girl in my mind to a novella that is now haunting Amazon. I hope you enjoy it!
Let me start by saying I totally respect this author. She's gotten a book published, which is more than I've done, and the story wasn't bad at all. There were things I would definitely have changed. I had to put this book down for a week because I got so fed up with the numerous grammatical errors. Poor editing at best. I finally just had to stop underlining all the mistakes and go on reading while autocorrecting in my head. The story was short and sweet, a fairly quick read. It was my first novella, and I didn't expect to get attached to the characters since it was so short. It's hard to make characters lovable in 100-something pages. Good overall, but mediocre.
I found this book really interesting. If you had a ghost in your house, how would you react? Jacynda has to find her own way in the world and finds the perfect house. Or is it? Can a new friend help and repair her heart at the same time?
This book was creeeeeepy. I'm not big on haunting stories, I'm a big baby, but I really enjoyed this one. I liked how it started as super creepy, leave all your lights on and ended super romantic happy ending. :D
I really enjoyed this book. Jane really knows how to get your attention and draw you in. If you like a good ghost story and paranormal activity this is the book. kozettekaysmith
That was one spooky read! But towards the end, the story took a drastic turn. It was no longer about being haunted but more about falling in love and getting engaged. But I still liked the story.
