✯✯✯3/5 stars✯✯✯ this book is about emily, an embryologist working at an IVF clinic, and the absolute shit show that happens when ben (her ex), and ally (his wife) move back into town and show up at the clinic SHE works at, to go through with IVF treatment. i already had a feeling that things were going to get crazy, and they DEFINITELY did. nobody in this book is a saint, i feel like everyone was unhinged in their own way and it got chaotic very quickly. emily made some extreme decisions that made me side-eye her so hard, being in her head in general had me stresseddd 😭 same with ally. there’s not much that i can say without spoiling, but i will say it was a good quick read, the last maybe hundred pages is when it really picked up and i had the most fun reading it. by the end, i still had questions about ben and ally that i feel didn’t get answered (i tried to check if i missed something along the way, and didn’t find anything, but i might just be bad at reading between the lines lol). the ending wasn’t that shocking to me, given that what emily did was something’s she’s done before, so seeing her do it again was just very predictable. i do still recommend this as i did really like the writing style and the plot kept me wanting to read more.💕
thank you to NetGalley, Cara Reinard, and the publishers for this ARC 🤍
This was a really quick read for me, which was just what I needed. Essentially, it's the story of two women who both really want to start a family, but sometimes becoming a mom isn't so simple.
Emily is an embrynologist who just hasn't found Mr Right... or perhaps she DID have him, but let him go. And Ally, a devout Christian who is struggling with multiple miscarriages and infertility. Aside from the desire for children, these women have one other thing in common... Ben.
THE CLINIC is told from a dual perspective, which I personally enjoy in thrillers. I loved how the story bounced between Emily and Ally, and we were able to really see their thoughts surrounding the IVF process and take a look into their not so perfect lives.
The story was easy to follow, but the twists were a little easy to predict, so I am going to refrain from saying anything else.
Overall, I enjoyed the story, and it definitely felt like I was watching a lifetime special, which, if I'm honest, is a guilty pleasure! I'm definitely going to recommend this one.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The Clinic is a simmer read. Just going through its motions without much excitement. There’s no real shocks and it’s kind of predictable. Emily works in a IVF clinic. She is the country’s most trusted physician. Her ex boyfriend and new wife come in for treatment. Emily makes a decision that alters everyone’s life. A decision that will completely destroy the lives of many…… A tale that comes across as not very thrilling. The plot is easy to foretell, the characters are moderate and twists could have been turned up a notch. On the positive side it was a fast paced story and a quick read.
A fun thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Worth the read and recommendation for sure. I will say some of the story felt like it dragged a bit and some places I wanted more- but still very much worth the read!
This was such a fun thriller! You will definitely need to suspend reality a bit - I suppose theoretically all of the things in the book could have happened, but wow. That would make for one hell of a Lifetime movie…that’s why I’m putting it in the popcorn thriller category, but this was a great story.
Emily is the head embryologist at a fertility clinic; ironic, because she’s barren after chemotherapy when she was younger. She was able to freeze some eggs before chemo though, and is just waiting for the right time to use them. She was getting close to the decision until her college boyfriend came back into her life. She broke up with Ben to go to grad school in England, and now he’s married to a woman named Allyson - a woman who has had four miscarriages, and despite her devout religious faith, has decided to turn to IVF for a child. They recently moved to Pittsburgh for a job opportunity Ben received and by chance, ended up at the clinic where Emily works.
I can’t tell you much more, or it would ruin the surprises you’re in store for! Emily and Ben have secrets, like really bad secrets that could send one or both of them to prison. One of the big shocks comes when you find out Allyson has a secret too, a huge one. This saintly, Catholic woman who has been through so much heartbreak may not be so innocent after all! Overall, this was a quick read that was quite entertaining, even when it got a little too inconceivable (pun intended). Four stars.
(Thank you to Bookouture, Cara Reinard and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on November 8, 2024.)
Wow this is a dark book about a woman who gave up the man she loved for the career she dreamed of who then turns up at the IVF clinic she works at asking her to perform a miracle for him and his wife and provide them with a baby. As she struggles with his return into her life and finally decides to complete her own baby journey things take a very dark turn. I can’t say any more without spoiling this one but it’s a great read!
I’m putting this on both the paused shelf and the DNF shelf because I might come back to it at some point, because I hate leaving a proofreading job unfinished, but I can’t do it anymore. I made it 100 pages in, but I have to take a break for my own mental health.
Absolutely no one proofread or edited this book. It is not possible for any proofreader worth their salt to read a sentence that is supposed to have the word “kowtow” but instead has “cow tail” and not fix it. There are glimmers of good moments and characters here and there, but the proofreading is actively holding this book back.
Emily is an embryologist who has been career driven and not thought about children becoming a part of her busy life until her ex Ben steps into her office for IVF treatment with his new wife Ally. As the ticking biological clock starts to bug Emily her plans excellerate as well. With no potential spouse in her view she rushes to process treatment on herself as well.
As a shocking turn of events weighs in on Emily to make a choice with her frozen eggs and Allys desperate situation. This story takes a shocking toll and thrills from the first page. I enjoyed this book and couldn’t stop reading till the very end! What a crazy ride!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookoture for this great ARC!
First, I want to thank Cara Reinard, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
WOW!! The Clinic was an incredibly fascinating read as Cara Reinard took us behind the scenes of a couple going through an IVF Journey. She did an amazing job educating us by detailing everything that was happening. Not to mention pulling out the emotions of the characters as well. This was a good read and needs to be put on your TBR List.
I loved how this book was set in Pittsburgh as I am a huge fan of the area as my Sister and her family live there. I had to smile every time she mentioned the Steelers or Cranberry.
Cara mentions the Lifetime Movie Switched at Birth in the book and I remembered that movie fondly as that was one of my fave’s.
Oh I wouldn’t have wanted to be Emily when I found out my next IVF couple was my ex and his new wife!! How awkward that would.
The Clinic is fast paced, addictive, has a lot of twists and turns, etc.
THE CLINIC was a very interesting read and I really enjoyed it. I typically enjoy books that are set in the medical field, so this one got me hooked right away. The dual POV aspect also kept things interesting and moving at the right pace. If you enjoy psychological thrillers you will probably love this one!
Many thanks to Bookouture for my gifted copy.
This review will be shared to my Instagram account (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the future.
The Clinic is a psychological thriller that brings readers into the dark, morally complex world of fertility treatments, where personal history and professional boundaries collide. This novel, reminiscent of Freida McFadden’s style, will appeal to fans of dark, twisty thrillers with multi-layered, flawed characters and ethically fraught dilemmas.
The story centers around Emily, a dedicated embryologist with a traumatic medical past, who faces a whirlwind of unresolved emotions when her ex, Ben, and his wife, Ally, show up at her clinic seeking IVF help. Emily’s lingering attachment to Ben, combined with her increasing desperation for motherhood, leads her down a path of questionable decisions and manipulation.
Cara Reinard delivers this unraveling tale through a double POV, shifting between Emily and Ally’s perspectives, which adds depth and tension to the story. I’m a fan of dual POVs, and it’s a strong choice here, giving us insights into both women’s motives—even if neither character is especially likable. Despite their flaws, each has understandable, if misguided, beliefs and motivations that drive their actions.
While the pacing starts off a bit slow, it soon gains momentum, and the fast-paced writing style pulls readers in. There’s a significant amount of backstory for both Emily and Ally, which sometimes bogs down the narrative but ultimately adds layers to their characters. The plot twists, while mostly well-placed, felt a bit predictable, and some of the suspenseful reveals might not surprise seasoned thriller readers.
One aspect that might divide readers is the detailed focus on the fertility journey—while it’s crucial to the storyline, it sometimes felt excessive. Still, for readers interested in a thriller that’s both morally complex and grounded in very real personal stakes, The Clinic offers an intriguing, if not entirely unpredictable, ride.
Overall, The Clinic is worth the read for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy a fast-paced, morally gray narrative with a touch of personal drama.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for sending me a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard, when the book starts, we meet Emma. She’s an embryologist, single and a breast cancer survivor celebrating her 35th birthday. Despite the fact that she helps others grow their family. She has yet to do it for herself. When she finds out her ex Ben is coming back to Pennsylvania, the last place she thought she would see him is that her work with his wife. To make matters worse this is the couple she supposed to tell the clinic cannot help them but after coming face-to-face with Allison before Emma knows it she is agreeing to help. knowing her ex been in his wife could possibly become pregnant. She in no way wants it to be before she herself has a baby. She froze eggs years ago before her cancer treatment and decides now is a good time to fertilize them. so on the same day, Allison has her egg retrieval, Emma is also going to fertilize her eggs, but when things don’t turn out the way anyone wanted and do to Emma’s saying something she had no right to say she finds herself in an impossible situation and puts her job on the line to fix it. While all this is going on, Allison is having an emotional affair with someone named Sebastian due to being miserable in Pennsylvania, she talks about running away with him. Emma is also having an emotional affair of sorts with her neighbor Jasper, who is married to and has a daughter with an unstable and abusive alcoholic. so much is happening and soon after both the pregnancy test come in then Allison goes missing and no matter where they search she cannot be found. everyone fears for Allison but no one more than Emma. This is why she takes it upon herself to go and search of her exes wife. I know this is a long review, but there is so much to this book. It seems like the authors books more and more every time she puts out a new book it seems better than the last one and this one is a doozy. I highly recommend this book, if you love thrillers and want to see how someone can create a catastrophe and then wiggled their way out. You definitely need to read this book. I mean wow what a thriller! #NetGalley,#Bookoucher, #CaraRinard, #TheClinic,
This was my first book by Cara Reinard and I shall definitely be looking out for more books by her, what a crazy, unpredictable ride this was, so enjoyable!
Emily is extremely good at her job as an Embryologist, so much so that she is employed at one of the most successful fertility clinics in the country. However, she has sacrificed a lot to get where she is in her career, one huge sacrifice was breaking up with her college boyfriend, Ben, so she could move countries to be a graduate intern for Sir Robert Edward, a world renown embryo fertility specialist. She now feels this was a huge mistake as she is still alone, and she is very aware of her own biological clock ticking. She has also battled breast cancer in her late twenties and, as a result, had to freeze her eggs to preserve her dream of someday becoming a mother herself. Without warning Ben shows up at her clinic with his wife, Ally, after moving into the area. Ally and Ben have been trying to start a family without success after Ally has suffered 4 miscarriages and they both are just desperate for a healthy pregnancy to make them a little family, and so decide to begin IVF. This suddenly makes Emily want to start her own IVF treatment as quickly as possible as, as petty as it sounds, she wants to be pregnant before Ally is. Thus, the two women both begin IVF treatment to become mothers, Ally with Ben and Emily going through it alone, albeit with a sperm donor. Will both Ally and Ben and Emily manage to achieve their dreams of starting a family or will one or both be left with negative pregnancy test results and their dreams in tatters?! Or will the conflict of interest cause problems for both patients?!
Well, this was a fun, albeit pretty messed up, story that definitely kept me intrigued! I was hooked very early on in the story and actually found the story very informative considering that my husband and I are due to start on a fertility journey of our own soon. I will just add that I am fully aware that this was fiction and not necessarily 100% clinically correct (as per the authors note at the end) but I still found it interesting and helpful for what we shall be shortly going through especially the embryology side of things. I didn’t really warm to any of the main characters, but this didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story at all. There were secrets and lies everywhere and I had no idea how the story would end however I did like the ending, even though it was a little chilling.
Ultimately a good read from Cara Reinard and I shall be looking out for her books in the future, I already have another one of her books on my TBR list. I would definitely recommend this for any fans of psychological thrillers. A well deserved 4 star rating.
Thank you to NetGalley, Cara Reinard and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out 8th November 2024.
This story was chaotic, but not in a bad way. It was easy to read, but a lot of the background story seemed far fetched. Still, it was entertaining.
I liked Emily’s background in genetics and her being an embryologist was pretty interesting. Her past relationship with Ben and her intrusive thoughts about him were a little annoying. I did like the introduction of Jasper, but wanted more in terms of his relationship with Emily.
Then there’s Ally and her getting caught up in her fantasies of Sebastian. I get things were difficult with Ben, and she hated living in Pittsburgh, but was that really enough reason? I feel like I was missing the resolution between her and Ben when she returned back home. But we pretty much know that she made a pact with Emily that Ben would never find out about Sebastian, and that no one would know about Emily’s affair with a married man.
The story didn’t pick up until about 70ish percent in. Before then, it was mostly background story. I would say, if you like psychological thrillers similar Frieda McFadden, definitely give this one a shot. It just didn’t have as many twists as I was expecting.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Cara Reinard, and the publishers at Bookouture for this ARC 💖
This book has so many twists and turns and moments where I caught myself saying “What is she thinking.?” “Why would someone do that?” The book goes back and forth between 2 POV eternally Ally and Emily and I have to say calling the book the clinic is fitting g for a couple reasons s with the fertility clinic aspect but also the amount of mental health issues between characters and the what I feel was a psychotic break down that happens. The ending was abrupt and to me could have been done differently unless the author is planning on continuing the story with these characters. Still a great page turner and would recommend it to my thriller reader friends. #NetGalley #TheClinic #CaraReinard
What a twisted plot! This was a quick read, and hard to put down. I was thoroughly engaged waiting to see what would happen next, was the truth going to come out? Emily’s choices sometimes frustrated me, I wasn’t sure where the story was going to end up, and I have to say I was surprised by the ending! Really well written, I look forward to reading more from this author.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard. This was a good read. I liked the cover and blurb of this book. The chapters go between Emily and Ally. I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters. Everyone in my mind was guilty of something. I really thought I knew what was going to happen. Very twisty. I certainly didn't see that coming. That was very surprising.
I'm at the point that I seem to be in the minority of readers for most 4-5 starred books on this app and wish there was somewhere to go to get more realistic reviews to find better things to read. This book was poorly edited, if edited at all, and was so repetitive that at 60%, I skimmed to the end and still understood the not surprising ending. Do not recommend.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard offers a tense and morally complex thriller set against the backdrop of a fertility clinic. Emily, a driven embryologist, faces an emotional upheaval when her ex-boyfriend, Ben, and his wife, Allyson, come to the clinic for IVF treatment. As unresolved feelings resurface, Emily finds herself making increasingly questionable decisions, leading to a story full of dark twists and turns.
The novel’s greatest strength lies in its characters. Emily is a compelling protagonist, struggling with the aftermath of cancer and the frozen eggs she hopes to one day use. Her past relationship with Ben complicates her role at the clinic, and her interactions with Allyson, who also has hidden layers, create palpable tension. The alternating perspectives between Emily and Ally allow readers to see the emotional and psychological depths of both women, making the narrative feel more immersive.
While the premise of The Clinic is intriguing, the execution has its ups and downs. There are moments of genuine suspense, but some of the twists lack the punch expected in a thriller. The story stretches the limits of plausibility, requiring readers to suspend their disbelief, especially as Emily’s choices become increasingly extreme. This is the kind of thriller where the stakes are high and the drama keeps escalating, but at times, it can feel a bit over-the-top.
The novel also touches on the ethical complexities of IVF, offering a glimpse into the clinical side of fertility treatment. For those interested in medical thrillers or stories that explore the moral dilemmas surrounding this subject, this adds an intriguing dimension. However, the plot sometimes drifts into more predictable territory, and the shocking moments don’t always land with the desired impact.
Overall, The Clinic is an engaging read with a lot of potential, but it doesn’t fully capitalize on its premise. It’s a solid thriller with compelling character dynamics and ethical questions, but the writing doesn’t always deliver the jaw-dropping twists you might expect. If you’re looking for a dark, psychological story and are willing to suspend some disbelief, it’s still worth picking up.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thirteen Years ago Emily Daugherty and her boyfriend Ben Holiday were so in love and dreamed of a happy life together with a family. When they graduated from college - Ben stays in the Pittsburgh area and is looking for a teaching position. Studying in England was wonderful however she developed breast cancer- the treatment was successful for the cancer but it left her with a 5% chance of having a child.
In the meantime, Ben now an ex-boyfriend was deeply hurt by Emily and moved on and married Ally.
Present Day ~Emily Daugherty is the head embryologist at a fertility clinic and wants to help other couples have a family; .however when Ben and new wife Ally walk into the clinic, Emily is not sure what is the best way to deal with this as her heart shatters again.
We readers soon find out how far Emily will go to get the child she has always dreamed about.
Things get interesting and I wasn’t sure where this was going.
The ending left me surprised but not shocked I did say to myself ~ Oh that Emily!
Story turned out better than I expected and I liked it even better after I read Cara Reinard’s ‘Acknowledgments’ ~ She tells us she finished the first draft of this story nearly eleven years ago with the title “A Tiny Secret’ but the publisher didn’t go for it. She has a strong science background in the pharmaceutical industry as well as oncology so with a lot of research she was finally able to edit her original draft the way it was supposed to be. She tells us she learned there is no expiration date for realizing your dreams Something we all need to remember!
Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for granting me this early eGalley. Publishing Release Date scheduled for November 8, 2024.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.
I was surprised I hadn’t run into a thriller with a similar premise as The Clinic and eager to see if this would go to a dark or heartwarming place. I can tell you it went to a very dark one, and I loved some of the unexpected plot turns that I hadn’t expected from a book premised on IVF.
This may be a book those struggling with infertility want to stay away from if your experience has you incredibly vulnerable, since it is focused on this subject matter. For those wanting an escape from your journey perhaps it will work, but be aware that this focuses on infertility and IVF fairly exclusively as a core component.
The main character, Emily, has a bit of a hidden god complex and when her ex BF who previously got caught up in her desire to bring relief to those suffering comes back into town - with his wife - Emily has already been obsessed with him for a long while. When he and his wife attend the clinic she works at as an embryologist in an attempt to get pregnant, it helps Emily realize that she is ready to be a mother. Emily will need to use her own clinic (and her not great boss) to do this because she is a breast cancer survivor who froze her eggs anticipating infertility as a result of her cancer treatments. So, to recap - Ben’s wife is about to undergo IVF just as Emily is, and Emily is her embryologist. Given the two women have some jealousy and secrets, this is not a recipe for anything good happening.
This read got incredibly dark and tense, helped by some supporting characters who had their own issues. It definitely made me glad I don’t have people like these in my own life (fingers crossed, but certainly not so many can be so twisted if they’re hidden away).
Emily has been told she can't have children after undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The irony of the matter is that she is a leading embryologist where her job day in day out is helping other families conceive.
Emily is kicking herself for not having children with her ex Ben over a decade previously before she got sick. Ben then got married and dropped off the radar. Emily is out for dinner with her best friend when she drops a bomb by confirming that Ben has returned to town with his wife and taken up a new job.
We also follows Ally's story. Ally is Ben's wife and they've moved across the country at Ben's request and started IVF even though Ally has strong opinions against using IVF due to her religious beliefs. Their relationship appears quite fractured and I couldn't help but wonder that perhaps this couple weren't in the best place to be starting a family.
What was difficult for me with this book is that the two main protagonists, Emily and Ally, are both not particularly likeable. They are not characters I felt I could relate to in any way and they are very flawed. I did feel for their desperation though and found myself rooting for them to try and get some kind of a happy resolution towards the end.
The story seems quite far fetched, but it is very entertaining. It is definitely a bit of a twisted story, and I found myself multiple times saying to myself 'no surely not, that surely can't happen'. I didn't really know where the story was heading and it ended a bit abruptly. I feel like there are quite a few unanswered questions so perhaps a sequel is on the cards? Overall though an entertaining read with an interesting plot and some characters to dislike along the way!
Cara Reinard’s The Clinic is a spellbinding psychological thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The story centers on Dr. Rachel Forester, a brilliant but haunted physician, whose life takes a dark and unexpected turn when a murder rocks her workplace. What unfolds is a tightly woven tale of suspense, filled with unexpected twists, morally complex characters, and revelations that keep readers guessing until the very last page.
One of the strongest aspects of The Clinic is Reinard’s ability to create an immersive and atmospheric setting. The clinical world she portrays feels authentic and grounded, drawing readers into the high-stakes environment of modern medicine. This attention to detail not only adds realism but also heightens the tension as Rachel navigates the blurred lines between professional ethics and personal survival.
Reinard excels at crafting multidimensional characters. Rachel Forester is both relatable and deeply compelling, with vulnerabilities that make her struggles feel real. Supporting characters are equally well-developed, each with their own secrets and motives, adding depth to the narrative and keeping readers engaged.
The pacing is another standout feature. Short, impactful chapters drive the story forward, and the balance between action and introspection keeps the plot moving without sacrificing character development. Reinard’s prose is crisp and accessible, making this a fast yet satisfying read.
Beyond its thriller elements, the novel touches on profound themes, including the fragility of trust, the cost of ambition, and the complexities of personal integrity. These thematic undercurrents add richness to the story and make it more than just a whodunit.
While the plot occasionally veers into convoluted territory, Reinard’s skillful storytelling ensures that most questions are answered in a way that feels earned. The climactic twists are shocking yet believable, leaving readers reeling and eager to discuss the book with others.
The Clinic is a standout novel that blends psychological tension with a thought-provoking narrative, making it a must-read for fans of thrillers and medical dramas. Cara Reinard’s deft hand at building suspense and crafting flawed yet endearing characters ensures this book will stay with readers long after the final page.
Huge thank you to NetGalley and Cara Reinard for this advanced copy.
I was addicted to Cara Reinhard’s writing when I read The Wife in the Window earlier this year. Funny story…I was reading it on the plane on my way to New York for Thrillerfest and when I mentioned to my bestie how much I liked it she said, Oh Cars is here at the event! WHAT??? Sadly I never got to meet her but I was waiting patiently for The Clinic to come out so I could read more of Cara’s twisty tales. Emily works as an embryologist at a clinic and loves helping woman make their dreams come true. She’s starting to wonder if maybe that’s her dream as well, but either way a busy work life and no potential mate it seems like it’s something for a later date. When her ex and his wife appear at the clinic in need of her help Emily can’t help but wonder what if. What if she’d never broken up with him in college, what if she could get pregnant right along with his wife, what if she could help them have a baby…… Emily goes against her better judgement and decides to help Ben and Ally conceive even though Ally is not a good candidate for IVF. Helping Ben is a way of righting wrongs from years before. If she and Ally can get pregnant at the same time she could stay in their lives, their children could be friends, and she could keep Ben close. Unfortunately Emily does something illegal and will have to right her wrongs but telling the truth will only cost her everything she’s worked her whole life for. The past and the present are mixing and Emily isn’t sure how long she can keep her secrets.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard was a great read. I found it to be quite interesting, especially with all of the medical IVF process. I would highly recommend The Clinic to anyone looking for a book that will suck them in until the end. Thank you, Cara Reinard and Bookouture, for the opportunity to read and provide an honest review.

Synopsis: One doctor. One patient. One terrible lie.
I used to have it all. My ex-boyfriend and I were madly in love and dreamed of starting a family. When I found out I couldn’t have children, it broke me. Now, at my job at the fertility clinic, I give other couples what I could never have.
The day my ex and his new wife walk into my clinic, my heart shatters all over again. He’s back. Now, I stand here with a syringe trembling in my hand and an impossible decision to make:
Do I help them conceive a child—even though I know he’s keeping a dangerous secret?
Or do I protect his wife—my patient, now—and take what’s rightfully mine?
Motherhood is a gift. I want a baby so bad it hurts. My ex knows the dark secrets that haunt my own past too… but has he underestimated how far I’ll go to get the child I’ve always dreamed of?
Only one thing is for certain. If anyone discovers what I’m about to do, it will tear us all apart…
As a career-driven embryologist in one of the country's most successful IVF clinics, Emily has always seen a family in her distant future, but when her ex-boyfriend comes back to town with his wife and the two of them show up at Emily's clinic, she feels some pressure to move her timeline up a bit and make her dreams a reality a lot sooner.
This book was interesting for me because there were absolutely zero likable characters. Everyone in this book is extremely self-centered or just morally bankrupt and it made for kind of a weird story because you can't root for anyone- or at least I couldn't. That being said, I think the story had an interesting concept as far as a scientist fighting her conscious concerning an issue as serious as infertility. I definitely thought this book was going a certain way but it ended up being completely different. The middle dragged a bit for me but the end was full of twists and turns and wrapped it up nicely, definitely set itself for a sequel. I would probably read a sequel to this book but would really want a likable character or at least to be given some reason to root for someone.
Overall, not my favorite book from this author, but a fun quick read for sure. I think this one would hit well with people who enjoys the big twists of Freida McFadden books.
