Quite a twist!

It was all great; erotic to the last page, where it kind of went off the rails for me. It was still my kind of erotic fantasy and well written, but it had kind of an anticlimactic ending. I don’t know; we’ll refrain from it until I read the follow up.

Quite a heady psychological journey!

Love this pair of novels, and how it wrapped up the issue. It seemed to bring the pair of stories together, as it were. Great writing in both. Look forward to more of his work!

Emily has fallen on hard times and when she meets Michael she is living on the street. Over time, she comes to trust him so when he finds her strung out on a particularly bad day, she doesn’t resist him taking her to a hotel although she feels anxious. However, it seems that Michael just wants to help Emily get back on her feet, which she does successfully. She feels very grateful towards Michael so when she runs into him unexpectedly at a hotel over a year later, she decides that she wants to say thank you by giving him an intimate experience he’ll never forget. Emily doesn’t want it to be a one off, but when she makes a move to see Michael again, she witnesses something unexpected and starts to dig into his past. Recommended for readers who love their steam erotic, descriptive and dirty, but who also crave a more complex read filled with dilemmas.

I’ve read a lot of erotica over the years and thought I’d come across pretty much any kink you could think of, but Hawkland’s tale of a man with a gratitude kink is a new one for me.

I’ve enjoyed Hawkland’s racy stories for sometime now, but this story goes beyond the spice and brings an added depth of character that takes it beyond the mere erotic—the dark situation at the beginning of the book almost had me putting it down for being just too serious for some spicy enjoyment. I persisted, and the unfolding plot of this story just pulled me in and kept me turning pages.

Definitely a recommend.

Our heroine feels she owes our hero for taking her in off the streets. He insists she owe him nothing, but she is determined to pay him back in any way she can.

This is a short erotic story. The story is well written and easy to read with a small, but fun cast. I loved our heroine's determination and the delightful steam that resulted from it. I look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.
