This post main series epilogue goes into the lives of Rudeus’ kids until they are all grown up. It goes to show that he really did live a satisfying and full live with no regrets. He really did change as a person from who he was in the very beginning of the series
The book contains four stories, and I absolutely love every single one of them.
The first chapter irked me a bit because it feels like Rudy still hasn’t grown a brain, even after all the years that have passed since his reincarnation into this world. However, that’s my only issue with the entire book. All four stories gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling, and I think anyone who has followed the cast’s journey from the original series would feel the same.
I would have given it five stars, but Rudy’s train of thought in Chapter 1 annoyed me slightly. I can’t wait for the next volume to be translated!
Four touching short stories focussing on other characters than Rudeus, whether Norn's marriage, Lucie's first day at school, Isolde's love life or Ghislaine's return to her roots. For me the volume show cases the author's skill in depicting flawed characters and making me care and root for them. It isn't often I really enjoyed reading a book with several short stories, but I certainly liked this volume. Now if only it wasn't this short...
Fun and wholesome. Love getting to hear more of the fascinating side-characters. Isolde is great and Ghislane is definitely one of my favourite characters so seeing her shine brings a smile to my face
