Rayanna Jamison, USA TODAY Bestselling author of sexy, sassy, spanky romance, lives in sunny southern Utah in a house she affectionately refers to as "Grand Central Station," with her mom, husband, their 2 teenage kids, 3 lizards, a boisterous kelpie named Cleo, and whatever "adopted" teenagers happen to be staying there at the time.
Rayanna loves her author friends, coffee, sushi, crazy knee socks, and her hot tub where she writes most of her books on her phone.
Sometimes known as "the mermaid author", when she's not writing in the hot tub or reading by the pool, Rayanna can be found bingeing Netflix on her kindle, while crocheting a blanket for someone she loves.
This book was... Not my cup of Tea. I'm sorry but there were a couple of times were I almost did not finish the book, especially in the beginning.
The story line reminded me of someone being "brain washed" without even realizing it.
It also felt like something was missing in the beginning. The story just basically started with Molly having a fit. There wasn't much background given about the community that they were living in, nor was the all important "Dream" explained in detail. Considering how important the Dream is to the already married men, a little explanation should have been given. How many wives can one man have within the faith? Can they divorce and remarry? Do the kids know which mom is their biological mother?
I did not understand Molly's reaction to the news of a new wife. I mean, she lives in a polygamist community and even though she was only married for a short time, she knew that eventually there could be a new wife. Her reaction was over the top and juvenile. I tried to be open to the story but all of the adults acted like children, actually worse. If she really had an issue with Ben marrying someone else, she should have put her foot down or left him, plain and simple. And, she never once asked Ben NOT to marry Beth, I kept waiting for it.
I had an issue with the "Spanking" and discipline by Ben. Molly threw a temper tantrum when she found out Ben was to marry her best friend, Beth. Like I said, Molly overreacted to the news, however, it was Ben's response to Molly that had me Ticked off and Gritting my teeth. He told her to: "Go get your brush and wait for me in the corner". Wait a minute, What ?!? WTH! Then to make matters worse, Molly Allows him to spank her. And then, right after, the husband takes off his belt and further beats and whips her with his belt. To add insult to injury, he even had the nerve to act like the whipping was affecting him more than Molly being whipped. Oh, please! If it is bothering you so much, then don't do it Ben, you JA!!
Anywho.. It seems as though the author was trying to cram too many subjects and themes in this one book. It's hard for me to picture a BDSM polygamist. Adult spanking is usually supposed to be sensual or erotic. Beth kept stating how "Intimate" the act was.. ahhhh, NO. However, in this book and context, it was not. It really was a form of punishment and discipline for the husband to use on his wife or wives. And, at this point, I really had an issue, an issue with the book, an issue with the characters, and an issue with the series as a whole. Some people may spank an unruly child but not a grown up and not for Ben's reasons. I kept asking myself, was this book about a married adult couple or about a parent scolding a child?
So, like I wrote before, Was this story based on a True Story? If not, I did not see the point. This was Not a Love Story. There wasn't anything Romantic, or Sensual, or Intimate, or Redeeming at all. I did not like any of the characters. Ben did not deserve One wife let alone Two. He is a newly wed only by a few months and he JUMPS at the chance to marry Beth. Ben was selfish and stupid, he did not speak to Molly about her feelings before marrying Beth and then wondered why he was having so many problems with his wives after the fact. Duh Dumb Ben, just.. Duh. I did not like the way that he spoke to Molly, instead of talking to her about a second wife, he is more concerned with house hold duties: "Be a good girl and get your chores done". Really?!?
The two women who were best friends for years were mean and hateful to each other. I could understand Molly's anger but not Beth's. Beth is selfish too. Why couldn't Beth wait awhile before mentioning her dream. She could have given them time to be newly weds. If Beth had the "dream", why wouldn't she talk with Molly, her best friend, first, or how about talking with Molly and Ben??? No, Beth, sneaks around behind Molly's back and tells the bishop or reverend. And then she acts as though Molly just needs to suck it up.
I repeat, Molly never once asked Ben not to marry her best friend Beth. And, up until the wedding day, I thought that he wouldn't go threw with it.
The ending was a bit abrupt. I can't believe after all of the animosity that Molly had towards Beth that it was all solved when Ben spanked Molly and Beth at the same time. Really? That was all that it took for everyone to get along, a group spanking?
And.. again, I had a big issue with the spankings. When I thought that Ben was done with the spankings, he would just use his belt, drawing out the "punishment". People treat their dogs better than the way Ben treated his wives. I didn't like the way that Ben spoke to either Molly or Beth: "Come here Molly girl" - like he was calling his pet. or "Are you going to heed my warning little girl?". - I don't know how old Molly and Beth are, but I can't believe they allowed Ben to treat them the way that he did and spanked them repeatedly.
If you want to read a short story about "Intimate" spanking, try: One Naughty Winter Night by Ruth D. Kerce.
**I am all about equality in relationships, so my question to the Author is... Are the women allowed to have more than one husband? Does Polyandry exist in their community? If Molly wanted, could she take another husband?
In all honesty, I could not rate this book higher. I did NOT like: 1.) That Ben took a new wife while still being a newly wed and his blatant disrespect and disregard of Molly. I kept hoping that Ben would change his mind about the 2nd wife all the way up until the last minute. Now, that would have been romantic. Ben taking a stand for Molly and NOT marrying anyone else. 2.) The constant spankings for no reason except that he "could" because the women allowed. When Ben spanked the women, it was not to be "Intimate" or sensual. No, he did it because he perceived it as a slight of his authority. The women are supposed to respect and obey him but he does not offer the same in kind. 3.) The women were brain washed into accepting Ben, his behavior, his selfishness, and their lifestyle.
I would be willing to read another story by this author but Only if it does Not involve spanking and polygamy.

Mollie and Beth Anne are best friends who grew up in a polygamist community. Mollie gets married to Ben, and all is happy and jolly. Until their bishop tells Ben he is also slated to marry Beth Anne. Since he and Mollie haven’t been married long enough to get out of the honeymoon phase, this is a stunning blow to both of them. Mollie takes it especially hard, and jealousy rears its ugly head. When Beth Anne moves in, all hell breaks loose.
I like what this book represents: a different, wholesome way of life, where multiple “wives” are accepted and the outside world isn’t a party to their personal relationships. I could really get on my soapbox here and write a laundry list of why polygyny ought to be acceptable, even in these modern feminist times, but I won’t. And bride Two Soon stays clear of proselytizing as well. In Jamison’s world the tale is all that matters, and if the reader accepts that this is a story about another lifestyle, they’ll be spellbound.
Bride Two Soon is more than a clever title (though it really is clever). It’s a spanking romance with a tender twist that shines a light on a different way to structure relationships. There are plenty of spankings and lots of romance, wrapped in a highly entertaining story. I recommend Bride Two Soon to anyone who believes that romance comes in all kinds of packages.
When I read on Facebook that an acquaintance was writing a "polygamy spanking romance," I was thrilled! As a devoted polyamorist, I love reading about polygamy, the ways it's different and the same as what I live my polyamory. So as soon as Blushing Books released the book, I went and bought a copy. The blurb absolutely sold me on the book- best friends about to become sister wives after the first wife was married to the husband only a short time? Wow! I loved the way Rayanna worked through the issues of the best friends, Molly and Beth Anne; I enjoyed seeing the work these women did to regain their friendship and expand it as sister wives, both in love with the same man, Ben- who was gloriously clueless about the workings of women's relationships and needed his father's staid advice on returning the peace to his household. I didn't see anywhere in blurbs etc that this is a clean book, in other words, without sex scenes, but I find I enjoyed the story, the romance, and the friendships so much in the book that I didn't miss the graphic sexual scenes at all. I can't wait for the next book!
Being turned onto Jamison through another series she writes for, I was graciously allowed to read these books. Never have read anything on polygamy, I went into it blind, but with an open mind. And boy was I rewarded! Green Valley is a polygamist community that is also centered around spanking as a form of punishment within marriages. Being introduced, first, to Ben and Mollie as newlyweds, we were given some insight into this marriage and how naughty Mollie tends to be. Early on, the reader was also introduced to Mollie's best friend from childhood, Beth Anne. They were like peas and carrots, as close as even sisters are! However, when Beth Anne gives Ben's name as the one she received from God to be her husband, best friends is a title between these two no more! This quick read has you moving in your seat at multiple scenes with the descriptions. Being able to picture everything that happens so vividly, through the picture the words paint, leaves the reader wanting more. Super excited that this is a series and will continue past this book, because this community is definitely one I am going to love getting to know better! Great read!
Bride Two Soon is about Ben and Mollie who have only been married for two months when Mollie's bestfriend Beth Anne chooses Ben as her husband.
Mollie is instantly furious about the prospect of having Beth Anne as a sister wife. As Beth Ann works her way into the family, she chooses to try to get rid of her.
Bride Two Soon shows a polygamist relationship more realistically. It isn't all sunshine and roses like the tv shows portray. It can be a hard adjustment on all involved in the new marriage. I laughed, rooted for Mollie, and teared up for Beth Ann.
My biggest brag to Rayanna is her ability to let us know the guilt Ben feels over spanking her knowing she is emotionally unstable. Rayanna shows this emotion perfect and while I read a lot of spanking stories, she is the first author to let us into how to male is feeling and his point of view.
I thoroughly enjoyed Rayanna and cannot wait to read more from her.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It had a good balance of ideology and romance. The ideology behind plural marriage is fascinating to me and I love to read about how men balance a relationship with multiple women at the same time. This book is interesting because it is the females that choose their husbands and even though both women grew up in a polygamy community and were best friends they did not want to be in a relationship together.
How the situation is resolved is very believable, in fact the whole book is very plausible and entertaining. While I am not part of a plural relationship it was very interesting to read about one especially when it is done as tastefully as this. I think having all three character’s POV portrayed really helped the reader to bond with all of the characters and understand the love and connection between the three of them.
Overall I was pleased with this novel and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I find the whole idea of polygamy fascinating, and I’m a fan of the TV reality shows Sister Wives and My Five Wives. I also write spanking romance. So when I heard of Rayanna Jamison’s spanking fiction novella featuring a polygamous family, well, I couldn’t buy it fast enough! Although newlyweds Ben and Mollie intend to live a polygamous lifestyle, relationships are tested when a new wife enters the picture just months after their marriage.
Unlike most spanking fiction, Bride Too Soon is a not a romance, but a friendship story that deals more with the dynamics between the two sister wives than between the wives and their husband. The story has plenty of spanking, but no sex scenes.
I really enjoyed this book and found it interesting and well-written. It made me wonder how many polygamous families might actually practice domestic discipline.
I've had a "Secret* interest/fetish polygamist marriages for a while, (Okay, I admit mostly since I started watching sister wives.) This book was perfectly done. Not too harsh, not too graphic. Rayanna Jamison has obviously done her research and I can't wait to see what she writes next. Ben and Mollie were perfect together when left alone- but when you add a best friend to the mix well things are going to get HOT! This book sizzles from page one all the way to the end. I went back and forth rooting for Mollie and then to Beth Anne, loving both of them in completely different ways. Owen was a hoot and the story would have been lost without him. I hope there will be more from Rayanna and soon!
Newlyweds, Ben, and Mollie are still in the honeymoon phase, having only been married a few months. What happens when Ben is called into Bishop Miller’s office to be informed he has been chosen to be a husband again, now to Mollie’s best friend, Beth Anne? It is one thing for two girls growing up as best of friends for the past twenty years and another to suddenly become sister-wives. Ben will be facing some challenging times with the antics of these two women. My favorite line in the story, “We had ourselves a good ole Come to Jesus meeting, yes, we did.” The story covers Christian Domestic Discipline. There are no sex scenes, but several punishment spankings.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Review Copy of this bool. I thought that this one was the best in the series. A young girl grows up in a refilous cult. The woman and children, especially the girl. Are abused and beaten. Her family escapes to Green Vally, where the men can have more then I wife. The woman are treated with kindness. Carolyn grows up in a normal way. She over hears her father talking about taking them back too the cult. What does she do? Go back to a living hell. Perhaps if she marries she will be saved. Do things work out? Read this marvelous book to find out.
This is a nicely done tale but. Yes there's usually a but. I'd like to know a little bit of the background of the polygamy community, things like is it legal here? has something happened and there's more women than men? If not might we see multiple men and a woman families in this series. Or better yet a family that has multiple both sex's. Yes I'm a Robert Hienlien fan.
