ON MONDAYS WE RUN. IF WE'RE CAUGHT... WE'RE BOUGHT.
I must win on Monday.
This Game is what I’ve sprinted, sparred, and sweated for. Not just because everyone calls me Sigma’s Savior. Not only for the Lunar Chalice. No. On Monday I must escape the hunter at the Massacre. Because if I don’t… I’m his.
*If you like chase scenes, blood oaths, and broken boys who claim what's not theirs—you’re home.*

I am here just to say I changed my mind a little …..
I originally rated this book 5⭐️ because I am impulsive like that, and if I vibe then I vibe. DONT get me wrong, I still loved but it isn’t a 5 ⭐️ because the more I think about it the more I see how similar it is to God of Malice, to the point that might even be way “too” similar if you know what I mean….. and God of Malice is one of my favorite books, Killian Carson is the best In my opinion and I can’t just go ahead and give this book the same rate. I did it because I am impulsive but my baby Killian Carson it’s on a league of his own, he is ZADE’s son , if you didn’t know I am telling you now 😂😂😂😂😂😂 So for this reason I am lowering the rate. Still I loved and enjoyed a lot but when you read the original review just know that exaggerated is my middle name and impulsive is my last.
I am positively OBSESSED !!!!!!!!!
Ryan Cardell is the new possessive book boyfriend!
So this book is EVERYTHING and I wasn’t expecting to be this good. It has the super ultra crazy possessive man, the college atmosphere, the secret society, the criminal organizations, the dangerous games, the drama, the angst, the violence, the hotness 🔥🔥🔥 it has everything. Now I can’t help but see the similarities with the Legacy of Gods series by RK, this one really gives God of Malice vibes but. Everyone and their mothers know I am obsessed with Killian Carson and the only 3 books I like from the Legacy of Gods are God of Malice, God of Wrath and God of Fury, so when I started this one and saw some similarities I was a little bummed thinking it was going to be bad, BUT OMG I was so wrong…. This is the story of Ryan Cardell and Pippi Freidenberg. They are both from powerful criminal organizations and part of a secret society, they know their obligations and destiny. But Ryan is not happy about it, he doesn’t want to be force into a job he doesn’t want and with a woman he despised as his wife. He is a rebel by nature and the older son of the Cardells. Pippi is an innocent girl that just turned 20 and is been infatuated with her older brother’s best friend “Nico” since she can remember, but he only sees her as his best friend kid’s sister. Which is great because he doesn’t deserve her anyway. Pippi meets Ryan in a “life or death” situation and let’s just say there is a cliff scene……. I’ll leave it to your imagination…… And he becomes OBSESSED with her. This man takes every single gum of her package, lick them all and put back so she can have some of his dna when she chews them. He steals her panties, he sprays her perfume in her shirt and puts under his shirt so he can have her scent as he goes about his life. All this before they are even together…… I won’t say anymore so I won’t accidentally spoil anything but there are people trying to harm them and a bunch of craziness happening. Also Ryan has humor and I like that, he is kinda funny in all his stalking ways. Pippi on the other hand is not a damsel in distress, she can hold her own, she was raised in a crime family and she can fight and shoot. She is feisty and thank the lord not a doormat. She puts up a fight and she is great, very likable FMC ! I absolutely loved and now I can’t wait for the other books in the series, can’t wait for Terror Tuesday !!!!
The gen 2 book I didn’t know I needed but was absolute perfection!! You do not need to read the color series to enjoy this book, I do however think it would make your experience better if you read at least Red Night however.
Kitty King never lets me down! Ryan was an MMC who was the definition of “I’d burn the world down” for her.
Massacre Monday 800 sorority girls, 200 sorority men, don’t get caught or they own you for the month. Literally anything goes, even murder, although frowned upon. Ryan is determined to make Pippi his, even kill. When he sees her breaking the rules during Massacre Monday that was his in, so what does he do..why handcuff her to a tree and makes her count every spanking as punishment, and then he’ll let her go..or so she thinks. Pippi thinks she’s made it to the finish line only to be scooped up at the last second, and now she belongs to Ryan for the month.
Pippi is not about to make this easy on Ryan though, on top of dealing with him her best friend goes missing. Her dance partner is acting shady, and her father seems to be on Ryan’s side. Her brother and childhood crush..not so much.
If you’re looking for a dark romance with spice and an insanely good mystery plot this is the one for you! It has secret society, dark academia, and a little cultish vibes.
I freaking loved this book! Even though it’s a second-generation story, it totally holds its own. I haven’t read all of their parents’ books (yet), but this one didn’t leave me feeling lost for a second.
Let’s talk about Ryan — oh my god, that man is devilish in the best way possible. Possessive, intense, but also a complete simp in the most hilarious ways. I was laughing out loud at some of his scenes just being completely gone for Pippi.😁
And Pippi? She is no damsel in distress. That girl kicks ass and takes names like a pro. She matched Ryan's energy perfectly and held her own through every twist and turn.🙌🏼
The writing? On point. The mystery had me hooked, the spice was 🔥, and the dynamics between the characters were addictive. Honestly, my only complaint is that I wish it was longer — I wasn’t ready to finish this so soon!🙈
And, if you're into audiobooks, do yourself a favor and listen to this one. The performance adds so much depth and emotion, it elevates the whole experience.🎧
Now I’m going back to all the parents’ stories while I (not so patiently) wait for the next book in this world!🙌🏼
The Dark Romance novel you won’t want to put down!
This book has me in a chokehold 😉 Everything I love about a good dark romance book lives between these pages.
Ryan is our obsessed stalker MMC and his character is so well written. His feelings toward societal standards in this world resonates with the reader (at least on my part). Then You have Pippi who is this fierce FMC, headstrong and knows what she wants. When these two get together it’s an all out riot. The spice is spicy and the plot is plotting 👏👏
The series of unhinged things written in this book is a work of art. The plot line with its twists and turns in every chapter brings you on a remarkable journey into secret societies and ritualistic sacrifices. This is not just your smutty dark romance, the themes in this book dig deeper than just the spice and that’s what makes it such an amazing read.
I am absolutely thrilled and delighted that I was able to read this as an ARC, so thanks to the author for this incredible work.
I love how I finished a Marie Hawkins book earlier this week and then immediately my next one was another Marie Hawkins book! Her and Bryant Walker have done such an amazing job in the two books I’ve listened to them narrated together! Marie has always been one of my favorite female narrators and now Bryant Walker is slowly climbing up the ranks of my favorite male narrators. He is now in the top 10 of my all-time favorite male narrators. Massacre Monday and this series has now become my new favorite dark college romance originally it was the Gallows Hill trilogy but now I just loved everything in this book. From the moment I started listening to the audiobook while following along with the ark I just cannot put it down, it just pulled you in and you could not get away from it. You cannot put down massacre Monday if you tried to and now it just gets me more excited for the remainder of this series and just kind of see where kitty King is going to go with the remainder of the series I’m excited to see where the next story goes because I believe it’s supposed to follow the MMC sister. So if you’re somebody that loves, dark romance, college romance, masked Man, stalker trope, kind of secret society within fraternity/sorority Greek life then you’ve picked up the right book and get ready to start an amazing series
This was seriously giving God of Malice x The Ritual vibes and yall know those are some of my favourite books. This book was a freaking masterpiece. I had a wonderful time reading and loved every moment of it. I gotta say, after all the cult and secret society books I’ve read, this one was the craziest and in the best possible way. Massacre Monday is a college ritual for fraternities/ sororities to earn points, and basically there’s two finish lines. If a girl crosses their finish line they win a point, but if a guy catches her and carries her over the other finish line the guy wins a point. However the most brutal part is that the guys don’t just “catch” the girls, they legit like gang up on them and umm… yeah. Also of course in pure dark romance fashion, if the guy wins a point they get to keep the girl for a month. That's not my favourite part though, it's the first scene where Penelope finds Ryan on the edge of a waterfall about to jump, and she’s terrified and wants to help him. However the help he wants… is a little unconventional. Yes it’s basically a reverse of the cliff scene from God of Malice. And oddly enough the dynamic that this builds throughout the entire book. Because in most dark romances, it’s the fmc that may not have a will to live, but in this case it’s the mmc who doesn’t and the fmc who helps him find that spark again. It’s honestly so beautiful, and that bond is my favourite part of the book. He falls first and hard, and he once again gave major Killian vibes when he put cute photos of them on social media. This plot was great too, lots of twists, some expected and some that shocked me to the core. And I also love how he pulled a Jeremy Volkov and surprise visited her parents house. She’s hesitant towards him, and I totally get it cause he has another “appointed” but he will do anything for her. He’ll break all the rules for her, kill for her, die for her. She names it, he’ll do it. I need a man that is that obsessed with me (jk). In a way it’s a beautiful but unconventional story with lots and lots of smut. There’s some primal and dub-con bordering non-con, so check triggers because it’s very dark. Don’t worry though I do believe he redeems himself in some way. Still this man has crawled into my heart and so has this book. I loved it and give it a 5/5
Holy F....the first few chapters start out HOT, and it doesn't stop. Pippi and Ryan's love-hate tension is so good. Pippi is a badass FMC who can take care of herself. but Ryan knows what he wants and takes it( just like his Daddy in Red Night). You can truly see both MCs' love for their family.
I didn't want this book to end. I loved Ryan's snarkyness. "You just made Thanksgiving dinner awkward." 😆 And Nico's bike in that one chapter had me DIEING!
I can't wait to read more of this series!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Kitty.
Ok, I admit I may need a sanity check but Ryan Cardell is a dream!! Yes, he’s a little unorthodox in his methods, yes at times unhinged but is this man head over heels devoted to Pippi - ABSOLUTELY, and I am here for it! I devoured this read and loved every second - give me a secret society with crazy rituals and a possessive MMC any day. This is first book of the 2nd generation from thE COlour series and the Compass series. This book focuses on Ryan Cardell (and if you remember Xavier then your in luck because he’s just like his Daddy) and Pippi Friedenberg. Pippi is the good girl, she has ambition, good grades and is pretty innocent if you know what I mean. She’ waiting to be appointed her chosen, but following a morally grey encounter with Ryan, she becomes his fixation and he’s determined to make Pippi his. We go through the motions of how far Ryan will go to have Pippi, and along the way we encounter house rivalries, murder & gore, (Check your TW’s before reading) and all the hilarious banter between the characters. Also - This spice is spicing!! You will need a cold shower after reading this beauty I can’t wait for the next instalment. Thank you so much Kitty for this ARC opportunity!
Book 5⭐️ ALC/ Audiobook 4.5⭐️ Dark college, secret society, st@lker, and touch her and d*e romance I couldn’t put down. Ryan would do absolutely anything for his woman and I mean ANYTHING!!! I also loved the FMC Pippi. She is a bad*ss and these two made a great pair. The audiobook was great. I loved the female narrator but the male narrator just wasn’t growly enough for Ryan. I’m not saying he was bad, I liked him too and his voice and he did a great job. I just think he sounds older than a college student. Overall this book and audiobook is definitely a must read and listen if you love these tropes.
Massacre Monday is a dark college romance and I'm living for it. It's giving stalker, obsessed, possessive vibes while edging the line of non-con, but swiftly moves into swoon-worthy declarations and fighting for love. Ryan, our MMC, is slotted to be a CEO for his family's company after graduation with his "appointed" wife. Pippi, our FMC, is waiting to find out who she's appointed to while trying to figure out a way to live a life of her own free will.
These two clash like oil and water, but MAN, their spice is spicy and the push-and-pull dynamic just makes it hotter. Don't pass this one up!
I need you to understand something: this book does not ask for permission. It grabs you by the throat, makes you run for your life, then handcuffs you to a tree and whispers “count, sweetheart” while you're out of breath and losing your damn mind.
ON MONDAYS WE RUN. IF WE’RE CAUGHT… WE’RE BOUGHT. AND BABE, I WANTED TO BE CAUGHT SO BAD 😮💨
This book? It’s secret society dark academia with blood stained lipstick and a stalker MMC who will literally lick your gum, steal your underwear, and rearrange your spine with declarations like: “…I asked for you. Your hand. Your blood. Your future. My reward.” ...and I ate it up like a crime I wasn’t sorry for.
💀 College cult chaos? ✅ 💋 Unhinged, obsessive, deranged golden retriever MMC? ✅ 👑 Sorority girl with a gun and rage in her veins? ✅ 🩸 Primal hunts, death games, punishments that sting, and a whole ass cliff scene that might ruin you forever? ✅✅✅
Ryan Cardell is what happens when daddy issues, sharp cheekbones, and feral devotion are all thrown into a meat grinder and the result is a man who SIMPS HARD and KILLS HARDER.
This man? He posts her selfies on burner accounts. He bleeds for her and makes it romantic.
And Pippi? Pippi is not just a damsel, she's danger wrapped in blush and secrets. She’s fighting for her freedom, her best friend, her sanity and the only thing more dangerous than the game she’s trapped in is the man who’s decided she belongs to him.
🩷 The dynamic? Unholy. 🖤 The spice? Blasphemous. 🔮 The plot? Laced with secrets, murder, cults, betrayal, and ritualistic obsession. And I loved every depraved second.
If you're not afraid of a little (okay, a LOT) of blood, some dubcon, culty academia, and the most hilariously obsessive man you’ve ever met then this book will ruin you in the best way.
Kitty King, you’ve baptized me in chaos and I want MORE. Bring on Terror Tuesday because I’m ready to suffer beautifully again.
📖 Welcome to the Kitty Cult, babes. We’re not making it out unscathed.
This book has some fantastic tropes: * St@lker * Secret Society * Murd3r Mystery * Cult Rituals This is a dark romance in a university setting with pr!mal play. Massacre Monday is a Greek Game played by fraternities and sororities. Sorority girls must find their way out of the forest while they are being hunted by the Brothers. If they get caught by a brother, they are his for the entire month. This story was unique and so good. It is mysterious and spicy and Ryan, the MMC is so obsessed with his girl Pippi! Their banter, spice level and chemistry is great and makes you keep reading. If you love dark college romance with some suspense you definitely need to read this book.
Massacre Monday is a stand-alone book that brings together all of Kitty King’s series together in a murdery, secret societal, smutty way. While it is a stand-alone, I do highly recommend reading Red Night and Red Mask prior to understand the Cardell’s better. This book makes you remember that it’s perfectly okay to have a walking red flag be so incredibly hot. Ryan is just like his Dad in stalking, possessive, obsessive, and will do everything he can to have who he wants. The plot of this story will suck you in and you will want to read this 420-page book in one day. Ryan Cardell is set to take over Cardell Enterprises to appease the Society’s rules, be appointed, aka married, to his on-again, off-again girlfriend who he can’t stand and be stuck living under someone’s thumb. Pippi Freidenberg (Compass Series) has been the family’s naïve daughter who isn’t allowed to do anything on her own. She knows she will be appointed to someone but is afraid that her viscount will just want a baby maker who looks good at charity events. One fateful night they meet when Ryan is deciding whether or not this is the night he ends it all. Ryan becomes obsessed with Pippi afterwards and tricks her at Massacre Monday. This is a sex run where the main point is to not get caught as a girl. After Massacre Monday, Ryan works to convince Pippi to trust him with her body, mind and eventually her heart. Remember that Society? They aren’t fond of this plan of Ryan’s and provide threats against the Cardell’s. On top of these threats, there’s another stalker of Pippi’s who is taking out her friends, dance partner, and sending her threatening texts. In true Cardell fashion, the story ends happy…for now. My favorite thing about this story is that it’s not just a smutty stalker book that you binge through. It has extra themes throughout with the secret society. There’s some mafia lines, some secret cult vibes and sacrifices that are still a mystery. I believe this is a great way for Kitty King to make her novels intertwined while still being something new and interesting for the readers. My least favorite thing about this is that a lot of the things Ryan did is a copy/paste of his dad, Xavier. It seems that Xavier hides a lot of what happened between him and Marissa from his kids which is completely understandable. However, from a reader’s point-of-view it seems a bit on the nose. Ryan states often how he doesn’t feel like he’s very similar to his dad, yet when he’s interested in Pippi they are almost duplicates. Massacre Monday easily is a five out of five. The spice, the horror, the devotion and all the twists and turns leave you wanting more. I couldn’t stop reading until I was done and I can’t wait for Terror Tuesday.
I never knew of author Kitty King until a few weeks ago. A recommendation from my Bookstagram page. This was GOOD and SPICY!! All set on Northern University Campus. Pippi has her heart set on Nico, but Nico is already taken. Lost in her own thoughts, she stumbles on a mysterious stranger in a bit of a predicament, Ryan. He talks her into doing an unthinkable act. So begins the cat and mouse game between Ryan and Pippi. low and behold, a plot twist, or two, or three get thrown in the mix. Massacre Monday alone, had me on the edge of my seat. But when I tell you I would take a "Ryan" any day of the week, just know that spice is right!!! Full of passion, longing, mystery and murder, this read did not disappoint. Kitty King's writing pulls you in right from the beginning. 5 stars overall!!
3 Stars. All for the story, not the sound. Received an ALC 🎧
Massacre Monday is a bloody blend of cult chaos, college games, and primal romance. Sorority girls run, frat boys hunt, and if you get caught, you’re claimed. The story hits all the dark college romance buttons: secret societies, MMA-fueled foreplay, murder mystery layers, and one very determined stalker MMC. Marie Hawkins crushed the narration. She gave life to the intensity and the spice with just the right amount of edge. Bryant Walker, on the other hand, felt like a teenage boy awkwardly mouthing off dirty words for the first time. The MMC is supposed to be a golden retriever in a leather jacket, but his vibe came off more goofball than dangerous. He had moments that worked, but overall, it just didn’t land. 🫠 Despite the misfire in performance, the plot kept me interested. The story was strong enough to keep me hooked, even if the delivery was lopsided. I love the grit, the culty chaos, the hunter-prey dynamics. MMA, motorcycles, and murder? Yes, ma’am. 🙋🏼♀️ But I’ll continue this series with my eyeballs, not my earbuds…unless they switch narrators. Would I recommend? To dark romance lovers? Sure. Just… maybe read it instead of listen. Unless your kink is secondhand embarrassment.
Addicted. Obsessed. Hungry for more. Massacre Monday was hell of a ride, and I loved every second. This was my first Kitty King book, but it absolutely is not my last. I have officially entered my Kitty Cult era!!
“The world we know is dying. What comes next isn’t promised. And when the battles end, we’ll have to choose—Bury the ashes… Or rise from them.“
I never thought any Kitty King man could top Xavier and Red Night, but she blew me away with this one! Ryan Cardell is EVERYTHING! Possessive, obsessive, over the top, with crazy stalker habits, and here I am in a puddle because he’s so darn sweet and loves his girl SO much. Pen is such a strong willed woman and a total badass, determined to prove herself in a world dominated by men. I love the similarities Ryan has to daddy Xavier, while still completely being his own man. Don’t get me wrong, Xavier is still top notch, but where he made mistakes with Marissa, Ryan treats Pen like the queen she is. And the spice- I cannot get over some of these scenes! We are treated with a good scene right off the bat, and Kitty continues to reward us like the good boys and girls we are throughout! Their first time together, the 🩸 scene, the 🍑 scene?! Trust me, you are in for a REAL GOOD time. I am so impatient for Terror Tuesday already. I just know this entire series is going to be outstanding!

This mother trucking 𝒶𝒽𝒽𝒽𝒽𝓂𝒶𝓏𝒾𝓃𝑔 book! This was easily one of my favorite books of 2025, and to be able to advanced listen to this in my ear holes was such an honor! 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒅𝒖𝒆𝒕 𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏!
🎙️Marie Hawkins 🎙️Bryant Walker 🏢 Blue Nose Audio
This was my first time listening to both of these authors, and they both did such a phenomenal job! Both Bryant and Marie captured the emotions of Ryan and Pen so well. I felt every moment of excitement, anxiety, fear, and love. I will definitely listen to more from both of these talented humans!
Pippi is getting ready for the sorority games and find out who her appointed is at her college, but then weird stuff starts happening. Ryan doesn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps but doesn’t want to be a professional hockey player either. Then Pippi stumbles into his life and he is determined to have her at all costs, she is his P.I.C. *heart eyes*. This next generation mixed with the Color Series and Compass Series is the best!!!! Can’t wait for the next book!!!!
This was the perfect dark romance, college, second generation cult book I didnt know I needed in my life. This book is all kinds of delicious!!
Kitty has been on my TBR list for awhile, and I’m not sure why I haven't read her work sooner but she has quickly become a "if she writes it, I'll read it and buy it author".
Ryan was *swoon* the obsessed "hack your socials and photosshop his pictures into yours" type stalker. Kitty portrayed him wonderfully, he was deranged yet so easy to love.
Pippi was a true badass, her fierceness and strong personality was truly brought to life. When you put Ryan and her together they truly bring out the best in each other.
I loved all the banter, stalking, derangedness, and spice all rolled into this delicious read. The twists and turns in the plot kept me hooked and wanting more, when I thought I had it figured out I was sent on a loop and left second guessing.
I may have came for the cult and dark romance but I'm walking away obsessed and looking for more from a new to me author.
I was obssessed with their parents' books and im just as obsesseddd with this book! It kept me hooked. Its hands down my favorite read this year. The banter between Pippi and Ryan are PHENOMENAL! i think everybody needs a Cardell man! I will forever love this book!
Favorite quote: "No matter how high the tide gets." -Ryan Cardell
DNF @ 52% I tried I really did. Before I say anything about this book. I wanted say that my emotions have been all over the place today so this affected my review.
I had such high expectations for this book. Sadly I was disappointed. I did not like any characters in this book. I legit want to go grab a gun and shot myself.
I really wanted like Ryan!!!! Had lots of traits that I usually love in an MMC. There were moments where I liked him and thought I could love him but ugh!!!! He didn’t do it for me
Oh and let’s not forget Pippi. I just found her pathetic.
On another note this gave off god of malice and Wallflower vibes
Little rant 🚨Sporliers🚨
The first thing I hated was that she was a virgin. I fucking hated that she was a virgin!!!!! I also hated the whole teaching her sex thing!!! For Fucks Sake can I read one book where the FMC isn’t a virgin or inexperienced. I feel like I complain about this about every freaking book I read.
The second was that Ryan kissed and proposed to Elian. I don’t give one single fuck if it was for show. In my book when the MMC is supposedly “obsessed,” like he was he doesn’t touch another woman like that or propose even if it’s for show and because had to do it. He should have found another way to deal with situation other then pretend with Elian. Or should had killed the people in his way earlier. Like why the fuck didn’t you do that sooner. That shit made me hate him. I couldn’t forgive him for that. It ruin the whole book for me which was really unfortunate because I could have overlooked the whole virgin thing if not for this.
Phew, kitty! You did it again, a new generation of morally grey MMCs who will do anything for their FMC.
I loved everything about this book, and just like his daddy he did everything he had to do to get the woman he wanted. Including sabotaging current… situations.
If you’re a friend of red night by kitty, you will absolutely devour this.
This was my first book by Kitty and damn…. Consider me OFFICIALLY converted! One thing about me… I love dark academia/secret society, and if it has LORDS vibes… FERALLL
When I saw the blurb and tropes, I knew I IMMEDIATELY NEEDED IT…what I didn't realize was that this was a Next Gen book series. That being said, while I had questions, I didn't feel entirely out of the loop regarding the world dynamics and plot. (Trust and believe I will be going back and reading that series of their parents.)
This was filthy, nasty, addictive, and wicked! I was immediately hooked from page 1, and honestly, I AM DOWN BAD FOR SIMP DADDY RYAN. He has been officially added to my book boyfriend roster! Think of an unhinged golden retriever with the tendency to bite, and that's him. I love that he is so down bad for her and honestly a little delulu in the beginning. He was hilarious, and he had me laughing out loud the entire book! AND the mouth on that man…. The things I would do for that man, to that man… I would commit HEINOUS war crimes for a moment of that man's time.
I love love love a fierce and capable FMC; we get that and more with Pippi! We do see a little bit of that sheltered naivety in the beginning, but as the story progresses, she grows out of that. She and Ryan are truly twin flames, and it's beautiful watching them become the people they wanted to be for each other.
Kitty intricately weaved Ryan and Pippi's story with political intrigue within the secret society, family secrets, and a murder mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. I ate this up, licked my fingers clean, and now want seconds! This packed a punch, and I can't wait for the next installment of this series. Thank you so much for gifting me this ARC!
Massacre Monday is a dark college romance, secret society, with a possessive MMC Ryan that will do ANYTHING for the FMC Pippi! The spicy “push and pull “ 🥵 dynamic between these two is undeniably so hot and is written so well! That “motorcycle “ scene phew 😮💨😅💦
Ryan & Pippi are polar opposites and come from rival families ( it kind of gave off a “Romeo and Juliet vibe “ Loved the questionable and unethical “games” they have to participate in for this sorority / secret society. There’s mystery, some drama , and a bunch of twists and turns with the story!
I really enjoyed reading this book and looking forward to see what happens in the second book “Terror Tuesday “ !! 🖤♥️🖤♥️
Thank you author Kitty King for the opportunity to arc read this book.
Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance ⭐️ 3.75/5 🌶 3.5/5 🧠 3/10 Noteworthy: Book 1 in an interconnected standalone series. Available on KU. Horror elements. Triggers upon triggers.
How do I even explain this book? I think if The Lords series, Legacy of Gods, and Demons of Darkness series had a baby, it would be this book, kinda. In a nutshell, combine nepotism, secret society, dark college stalker, Sorority/Fraternity wars, MC clubs, the mafia, and cult activities into one story. It's absolutely absurd at times, but it somehow works??? It has a lot of dark subject matter but never seems to take itself too seriously to me. I think that's a big reason why I'm excited to continue to the series. I want to know what happens to the cast of characters (I'm looking at you, Aiden!). My biggest complaint is that I needed more background to understand and invest in some of the plot. For instance, why do these houses hate each other so much? And what happened during the years the games were paused? That aspect really needed depth. I'm hoping it's addressed in the future.
Pippi was actually a great FMC. She was strong and confident. Was she naive at times? Yeah. Did she make crazy decisions on occasion? Also, yeah. But did that lessen her character in my eyes? After the opening few scenes, no. Those scenes are so immature and plain silly. But as the book moves along, she shows her strength and resilience.
Ryan was almost irredeemable in his first scene. But he did recover nicely. I appreciated that he was a baddie without being over the top with it. He felt pain and wasn't shown as being the toughest, scariest guy in any room he occupied. He still stood up for his girl and had his moments. I ended up liking his character a lot.
Overall, this book may give you a little more than you expect. If you like The Lords Series or Legacy of Gods, you will probably like this one.

✨Tropes ✨ Secret Society Dark Academia Burn the world for her Stalker Primal play
This book has everything a dark romance girlie like myself loves. This story follows Pippi, a sophomore at Northview University. She comes across what she believes is a man in need, but she finds his needs are not what she thought. But, she'll do whatever it takes to be his hero. What she gets in return is a stalker, one who is ready to win his prize during Massacre Monday.
Massacare Monday is part of Greek Games tradition at Northview University, but this Greek game is more than keg parties, beer pong, and flip cup. Massacre Monday starts with sorority girls who are on the run to earn points for their sorority if they finish the race without being caught by a frat guy. But if a frat guy catches her, he can have his way with her, and if he carries her to the finish line, then he gets to keep her for the next month.
What happens during Massacre Monday kicks off a story of intrigue, murder, stalking, cult like rituals and more. This story kept me on my toes and had me guessing what was going to happen next, and who was the guilty party. I couldn't stop listening! There were some seriously delicious spicy moments in this book that I'm still thinking about! If you are a dark romance girlie, then add this book to your list!
Marie Hawkins and Bryant Walker were absolutely phenomenal together! Bryant as Ryan voiced this broody yet charismatic character perfectly. Ryan is a deliciously dirty talking alpha male who gets what he wants (obviously). And Marie as Pippi was perfection. Marie is quickly becoming a favorite of mine and her voicing Pippi was an excellent performance! If you have yet to listen to one of Marie's performances, just go ahead and add Massacre Monday, you won't be disappointed!
Secret societies are always interesting to read about.. I like how the author ties those rituals to the fraternities and sororities at the university in the book. The chemistry between Pippi and Ryan is so good from their first encounter at the waterfall to the very end of the book. If you like spicy scenes there are plenty of them on the page here.
“He’s right. I feel like we can be free together.”
There's so many things I want to say about this story, but I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start by saying "let's all bow down to the King" and I don't mean Ryan, I'm definitely talking about you miss Kitty King. I really want to say I hate you for making me love a villain, but I really don't.
Now I'm sure a lot of people are going to talk about Ryan and how he's his father's son, but can we take a minute to appreciate Pippi and how much of a badaṣs she is and how she is soooo her mother's daughter. Pippi is definitely a girl you want at your side during a battle. A true Partner In Crime. These two are definitely perfect for each other. I loved how they found each other when they were both at their lowest and saved each other in some very unconventional ways.
I truly enjoyed the way that this story takes all the best elements of the Compass Series, the Color Series, and the Case Closed Series and brings them together in one epic tale, and can't wait to see what's gonna happen next.
