They rolled the dice when they shot Bob’s friend…

Casino security guard Justin Taylor is shot by a person unknown. But there’s something the shooter doesn’t realize – Justin is a friend of Bob Singleton. And now Bob’s in Philadelphia looking for payback.

Bob discovers that Justin had been watching timid bank clerk Arthur as he laundered money through the casino.

Arthur is being used by a ruthless gang of bank robbers – he was the inside man on their last heist. Tragically, Arthur is doing it all for love – he’s being manipulated by the beautiful Tiffany who pretends she’s a girl next door but is actually colder than Philly in December.

Bob confronts the gang – at just the wrong moment. Turns out the money they robbed belongs to a major crime family who’ve finally caught up with them.

Things are looking bleak in a mass-execution kind of way when quick-thinking Tiffany makes her pitch – her gang will repay their debt tenfold by knocking over a mafia-run poker game. She and Arthur will remain the gang boss’s hostages until he gets paid.

Bob can’t let Arthur die and so is forced to help execute the high-risk robbery.

Caught between warring gangs, desperate to avenge his friend, Bob realizes there’s only one way forward – dealing up some deadly justice.

Snake Eyes - the sixth in the thrilling Rogue Warrior action thriller series. Perfect for fans of Jason Kasper, Jack Carr, and Lee Child.

Ian Loome continues to produce entertaining thrillers. Snake Eyes is the latest in the Rogue Warrior series about Bob Singleton. This time he has come to Philadelphia and are visiting an old friend who think he has seen someone laundering money in the casino where he works. When he get shot down in his home Bob can no longer sit still and the race is on. The book is well written even though I had some problems with the military lingo and the characters are great. There is actually a lot going on in this book not only with the money laundering and his friend getting shot, there is also a bankrobbery and a heist at a poker game. Oh, we mustn't forget about Bobs own problems trying to stay out of sight from his former employer and trying to stay sober and not kill everyone. I must thank Inkubator Books and Netgalley for giving me this advance copy that hits the shelf in the end of October.

Just a good little action book. One thing after another for Bob to deal with. Lots of scheming. Bob is fighting the bad guys, figuring out how to fight the next lot of bad guys' while fighting his demons and fighting to be a good man. There is always a new challenge. Most of all he is determined to find out who shot his friend. On top of all that he has to rescue some hostages. I don't know about Bob, but I was worn out and exhausted by the end of it. Quite an ending. A definite must read.

This was another action-packed read that I was fortunate enough to get an ARC copy of and for that I would like to express my thanks to the author (Ian Loome), his publisher (Inkubator Books), and the fine folks at Booksprout.

As with all my literary ramblings, these are just my five cents worth.

Snake Eyes by Ian Loome
Rogue Warrior #6

Riveting read ~ Excellent addition to the series ~ Eager for more~

What I liked:
* Bob Singleton: ex-military, ex-CIA assassin, recovering alcoholic, strong, lethal, has his own moral compass, protective, good friend, willing to do what it takes, intriguing
* Justin Taylor: ex-military, saved Bob twice, good friend, husband and father, works in casino security division, good man, someone worth seeking justice for
* Adam Renton: independent hacker for hire, new in this book, someone Bob may utilize in the future
* Tim Wright: works at the casino, friend of Justin’s, helpful to Bob in this story
* Jacob Garber: a religious man who was willing to do the right thing for the right cause
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* The bank robber dynamics and their character development – though bad guys they were not as dark as others in the book
* That it was so easy to dislike the two main bad guys: the mafia man and the religious gangster
* Finding out who pulled the trigger almost killing Justin and the justice meted out to that person
* Having read most of the previous books so I knew more about Bob’s backstory
* Knowing that there will be another book in the series
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how evil more than one in the story were and being glad they met the ends they did

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Our adventure starts with a bank robbery and we're soon up to our necks in money laundering, rival gangs, a duplicitous religious leader and more.

Bob has made it to the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia and tracks down an old teammate who may be able to provide him with information. Justin, however, needs Bob's help trying to suss out why a mild mannered guy, Arthur, is intentionally losing in the casino.

When Justin gets hurt before he can do any information gathering for Bob, Bob decides that this mission has become personal. As Bob confronts the gang he learns of the manipulation Arthur has been under, Tiffany appears to be a real femme fatale. Now Bob may have to save the bank robbers from the real threat. Bob can’t let Arthur get into more trouble - he may be an idiot but he's an innocent idiot.

Taut storyline with some empathetic characters. It was lovely to "see" nurse Dawn again. She really does act as Bob's touchstone and consciousness. Her influence on Bob has been huge. There may be several strands to the story but I didn't get confused by them, it just added meat to the bones of the overarching story.

I really enjoy these outings with Bob and Co. I can switch my brain off and just go along for the ride. I'm hoping for another adventure soon.

Our good friend Bob's newest adventure has him in Philly, where he finds himself needing to get some justice for a fallen friend. The plot involves bank robbery, Mafia criminals, double crossing and even Amish gangsters.

While the plot seems interesting, at times it also seemed far-fetched to me. When he has to join forces with the bank robbers to get to the bigger fish in this saga, the animosity and anger disappear just a bit too fast and conveniently given the type of characters he's dealing with. Also, Bob's desire to not have to kill anyone unless there's no other option seems to go out the window completely in this edition.

It was nice for the recurring subplot involving his former bosses trying to locate and track him down taking a back seat in this one. A compelling female antagonist adds to the tension throughout, while the epilogue demonstrates Bob is no longer afraid to administer extreme justice for someone beyond redemption.

Overall, this was a good read. I'll be curious to see who Bob takes down next.

A regular crime thriller, the sixth book in the Rogue Warrior series. Bob’s friend Justin Taylor is shot at his residence by persons unknown. At the same time, there is a robbery at a local bank, where the robbers are saddled with 100 times more cash than they were expecting. They are compelled to wash these hard cash and convert them to white by playing and losing money at a Blackjack table in a casino. There are two rival gangs in the fray and a bank insider who helps the robbers into the bank and hopes to get a piece of the loot. It is up to Bob to find the killer who shot his friend and in the process decimate the two rival gangs and most of its members. A run-of-the-mill story becomes predictable. The only redeeming feature is the twist at the end when the killer is identified.

This is another cracking read. Bob is in Philadelphia and meets an old army friend who has a security job at a casino and suspects some money laundering is going on. When the friend gets shot, Bob is determined to bring the shooter to justice. At the same time, there is a bank robbery and a planned heist at the same casino that Bob finds himself entangled with in his quest to find out who shot his friend.

This was a quick read as it is action-packed as usual and I always enjoy how Bob gets himself caught up in bigger events and how he gets himself out of these also! The ending here had a nice satisfying feel to it and I look forward to seeing where he finds himself next.

Bob is still dealing with his past, but along the way, he is trying to look up and out for old friends. It turns out that every time he shows up, there seems to be a problem with one of them. This time, his friend working as a security guard at a casino is shot, and when he finds out that it leads back to Philly, he goes and takes them on as well. This is a fascinating and fast-paced story to go along with the other books in the line. It is an excellent book.

Iam Loome is a fairly new author for me and I have to say all the books I've read so far are amazing. This is the latest book in the Rogue Warrior series featuring Bob SIngleton. When a casino security guard, Justin Taylor is hot by someone unknown, bob decides he has to step in since Justin was a friend of his. Things heat up quickly and Bob isn't backing down until he gets answers.

Bob Singleton books always seem to grab my interest, and this one was no exception. A bank heist, casino fraud in reverse...... attempted murder. The list goes on, and the action is fast paced, the plot intricate and well constructed. Although this is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

This book is well written, easy and entertaining to read, has very good characters and lots of action. The main character is smarter than in the earlier books, and even though the plot still has some strange elements, this is a good action book.

Exciting read

One of the better ones in this series. Bob does a lot less soul searching than in some of the other books in this series. Lots of interesting twists and turns and it show cases his talents in planning ops.

Slow to Fast

The story starts off a little slow but the pace picks up very quickly. It was enjoyable but a typical Bob saves someone storyline. The ending is little bit predictable but there were a few twists.

Started off for revenge because someone shot his "brother" (close friend), things got worse (clashes with the Philly mob and a Mennonite cult leader) but of course Singleton sorted it all out in the end.
