Roxanne is a USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author of forty romantic suspense, mystery, and heart-warming, emotionally charged relationship novels in the clean & wholesome, as well as inspirational romance genres.

She got her first horse at the tender age of six and grew up riding bareback with wild abandon throughout her small Minnesota town year-round. It was like giving a child car keys!

She showed horses for many years, and later, she and her husband raised quarter horses and thoroughbreds until their kids came along.

She's living her childhood dream, living on an acreage in the country with her husband, three horses (all beloved elderly pasture ornaments, now), a golden retriever, a Mountain Cur rescue, and six fluffy barn cats. It's a much smaller menagerie than when their three kids were still at home!

Ranches, animals, and small-town life frequently find their way into her books.

Another book who's title changed- I read "Perfect Target." I found the ending very dissatisfying, especially the reveal of the Deliah as the villian. She seemed to be a redeemable character, especially with Seth's care for her.

As well, the wrap-up of the side story with Alison and Eric needed more oomph (Alison is terrified to leave, doesn't want to involve police, and suddenly a restraining order actually is enough?).

Does Joanna have a book? There were enough details and hints to foreshadow her own story.

Can I start off by saying how much I enjoyed this book? It was such a fun read! Not only was it part Western & Romance, but I would say it was a little bit Mystery as well. This book really had it all in my opinion.

Kate Rawlins grew up not knowing her grandfather because of a terrible disagreement between him and her mother. So, it was much to Kate’s surprise to learn that her grandfather had named her in his will. However, in order for her to claim her inheritance (half of his Montana ranch), she had to go and live on the Ranch for 6 months. This was going to be quite a change from her fast-paced life as a cop in the city. But, after witnessing a tragedy on the job and sustaining a few injuries herself (physical AND emotional), Kate decided that the best time to claim her inheritance was now or never.

Over the course of the next few months of her new life, Kate discovers things about her past that really help her figure out who she really is. She also digs up buried secrets, encounters lots of hostility from those questioning her motives, meets the handsome rancher who inherited the other half of the estate, and learns to re-evaluate her priorities.

This book has danger, mystery, intrigue, and romance all along the way, making this a really interesting read that was hard to put down. I found myself being able to relate to Kate in some ways regarding being an “outsider” in a small town and the struggles there. What surprised and pleased me the most about this book was the fact that there are a lot of things going on in this book (which I loved), but the author does a great job of tying everything up by the end. I didn’t have any unanswered questions when I finished the book and that makes me a very happy reader! And, of course I loved the chemistry between Kate & Seth! I would definitely recommend this book & hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did!

A Montana Legacy was such a joy to read. The characters were interesting and I was able to immediately connect with them. That is such an important part of enjoying a story! This book is not an inspirational fiction title, but is instead classified as a “sweet, clean read”. It is also book two in a series, but I had no trouble reading it as a stand alone.

The two main characters, Seth and Kate, are so fun to read about. There is a lot of tension flowing between them. They are attracted to each other, but they are also in an awkward situation. Kate has traveled to Montana from inner-city Minneapolis and she definitely has an uphill climb ahead of her if she wants to be accepted in this small community. She also has some big trust issues from things that have happened in her past.

Seth carries his own baggage around and finds that trusting Kate does not come easily. Add in a sweet little girl, a distant ex-wife, and many surly characters from the ranch and you have a story that I had trouble setting down. A Montana Legacy has lots to recommend it: a sweet romance, interesting characters, questions from the past, suspense, and danger. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.

A Montana Legacy ( Shadows of The Rockies)
By: Roxanne Rustand
A Montana Legacy is a sweet light romance and suspense. If you love western romance and suspense then you will love A Montana Legacy. This is the first I have read by Roxanne Rustand and I am ready for more. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read alone. I had no problems connecting with the characters or the story and this is important to me. I really love the two main characters Kate and Seth. Kate came from Mineapolis to Montana. She was a police officer. She has inherited half of her grandfather's ranch, but there is a requirement she has to meet. Kate has heard about her grandfather all of her life, but nothing good. Why would her grandfather leave her half of his ranch? Seth ha inherited the other half of the ranch. He grew
up and worked with Kate's grandfather on the ranch. Seth has a daughter and an ex-wife. He does not want his daughter to be hurt any more. There is a lot of tension among Kate and Seth. Both are attracted to each other. There is also mysterious things that is happening to Kate since she arrived on the ranch. She is having a hard time trusting anyone. I highly recommend This bookend you will not be disappointed. Get your copy and find out more about Kate ,Seth, and the ranch.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review and I have given it.

A Montana Legacy is a perfect, good old fashioned romance. This is a "Sweet Read", so other than a few kisses, the steam is low. The story is so well written that I didn't feel the need for it to be any steamier than it was. The love between Seth and Kate has a slow build up. You see them as individuals, as friends, as business partners and then embracing the love they can't deny. I loved Seth from the moment he stopped to see if Kate needed any help when he found her parked on the side of the road. Kate is independent, a little closed off, but very likable. Roxanne has such an incredible way of describing her scenes that you can picture it clearly in your mind. The descriptions in the story are not drawn out with too many details. They are precise and give just enough information to form the scene in your mind. Her writing is fluid and I never experienced that lull in the story, or found myself wanting the story to rush along. The pacing is perfect and the story moves along quickly. I really thought the story was going to be predictable, and while parts were a little familiar to other stories, Roxanne included enough mystery that kept me guessing until the end. This is the first story I have read by Roxanne Rustand but it will definitely not be my last.

This story grabs your interest from page 1. The writing, editing and storyline were all exceptional. I liked the way that the author exposed little pieces of past truths throughout the story an wove them into the developing relationship between the main characters. I followed the author down a rabbit hole in uncovering the bad guy and was shocked when the actual villain was revealed. It was a tragedy that one evil person hurt so many others and essentially destroyed a family for their own purposes.

A clean romance with a little intrigue

I really enjoyed this book. I like some mystery, but the books I had been reading were good and suspenseful but too sexually graphic for me. I prefer clean reading. I thought this plot was very good and actually was a little surprised at the end! I loved this book! Thank You!

Just Perfect

Didn’t see this one coming! No spoilers from me.

Love Katie’s cop resilience and Seth’s cowboy persona. Good background on running a ranch. Plot tangle—just right with a firm “no” to spousal abuse.

Things are not as they always seem. Perfect Target from Rustand is a fine example.

Good book

Kate goes to her grandfather's ranches part of his wills stipulation. She isn't expecting the harsh stares and cold shoulder attitudes she gets from th he towns community. The more she learns about her family the more she begins to understand the stares. She also doesn't expect to find someone like Seth.

really good!

This is SO worth reading. But then I love horses, ranches, and strong women who don’t do dumb things.
I enjoyed this whole story which felt unique. The way the story unfolded surprised me. Hit gave the main character time to grow and change. I can’t say this had much of a Christian message but it was a clean romance which I appreciated.

an exciting heartwarming novel

Read several of author’s books and they all hold the reader’s interest until the very end. It is nice to read an interesting romantic story without the two main characters making love in the first chapter. Recommended

Western romantic suspense at its best with two hero’s at odds while discovering what they have in common.

Big city female cop with teetering self esteem as she decides to change her career after discovering an unexpected inheritance.

Worth reading

You just never know how your life can change. Kate's lonely life and guilt over a boy's death she felt was her fault took her to a new beginning.

I loved this book so much, Roxanne, if I could give it more than five stars I would. Kate Rawlins is a police officer from Minneapolis and she is recovering from some wounds she obtained while on duty with the police force. In the action a young man named Rico was killed. Kate is trying to deal with his loss when she hears she has inherited half a ranch from her grandfather, whom she doesn't know. Her mom always told her she was thrown out of the house when she got pregnant. Seth Hayward worked for Kate's grandfather and he helped raise him, he is the other owner of the ranch. When they meet it is evident that Seth doesn't want her here and also a lot of the members in this small town don't either. Seth is a single father raising a six year old daughter who is taken with Kate. Seth doesn't want her to get close to Mandy because he figures she will be gone in six months. The will states that she has to work and live there for six months to get her half. She is attracted to Seth and he to her but they try to stay away from each other. There are several more things that go on in this story so please read it to find out. It is a sweet story with no sexual scenes.

This is a sweet read by Roxanne Rustand. A little bit of cowboy, a little bit of mystery, some messed up relationships from the past, and a great amount of hope for the future.

When Kate is involved with the death of a teenager, her world turns upside down. Her desire to make things right finds her accepting an inheritance from her grandfather. She'd grown up hearing all the negative stuff about him and didn't want anything to do with him, but if she could use his money for a good cause, well, that changes everything.

Seth just wants everything to go well for his daughter. His ex-wife has a way of disappointing Mandy more often than not, usually not following through with promises. When Kate first arrives, he warns her away from his daughter. But soon he realizes that they need each other. And though he tries to stay away, Kate comes to mean a lot to him. Until he finds out why she came to the ranch.

I really enjoyed this story by a very talented story teller. It was well written and kept me turning the pages quickly to see how everything would turn out.
