You had me at age-gap, stalking, second chance with the maid's daughter. Though the relationship starting when she's 17 and he's 29 was a bit 😬. Whoop Whoop that's the sound of the police.
Tuomo watching and waiting for her for six years was both creepy and romantic. Homie went full Edward Cullen and watched to her sleep. But I'm a little confused to why Narissa is acting like she didn't know he was in the Mafia. I guess because she was "young and dumb" but she knew what the Vece family was.
Birth control tampering, planning to ruin her life if she rejects him again, and let's not for "if I can't have her no one can", is just unhinged 💀. I could move passed killing all her love interest...cause plot....but for someone who claims to not be like his father I think it's time for someone to buy a mirror.
Remember ladies always keep you promises are a big bad Mafia guy will get you 🥴.
This book was unhinged and at times unsettling. But it was a page turner for sure. But Tuomo won't be making any list of book boyfriends, playing with homegirls money like that. Like why can't she have a job and be with you?
One thing that bothered me was the brothers' personalities seem to change in each book. And it's like I'm reading about a new family each time. Plus the fact that they have regular Sunday dinners with their father, which Dalila attends, despite what he did to her is a bit unrealistic.
I'm giving this book 3.5 stars but rounding it to 4 because it was so unhinged I had to keep reading. However birth control tampering is a trigger for me in reading cause even in fiction I'm like what if her body can't handle a pregnancy.

This is my first book dark mafia romance by Hannah Rio, and she had me at unhinged, age gap, stalk her, touch her and die OTT possessive morally gray MMC, willing to burn down the entire world, including his family for his ‘little bird’. Tuomo is the ‘second son’, the spare and his brother and father never let him forget it. Tuomo is 29 and he falls in love with Nerissa, the maid’s 17 year old daughter. Nerissa thinks it’s like a fairy tale, while she intellectually knows Tuomo is part of this really violent criminal enterprise, at 17 she is still naïve. Though that doesn’t last. When Nerissa’s mother dies, she’s left alone. Her two brothers are already made soldiers for the Family. Tuomo’s father is aware of his son’s interest in the maid’s daughter and does not approve. So he makes arrangements to send her to live with a family on the other side of the city. Tuomo is devastated and enraged at his father. But Nerissa is grief stricken at the loss of her mother and her ‘crush’ on Tuo seems so small by comparison. When Tuo makes her promise that at 25, if she is single, that she will marry him, she agrees, thinking it’s just a silly thing.
For the next six years Nerissa lives her life. Finally understanding the darkness and violence she managed to escape from, she has no desire to be drawn back into the mafia world. Tuo is not eveb a memory for her. But Tuo, he has never forgotten his little bird. He’s spent the last six years watching over her. Making sure no boy dated her too long, that she was safe, and stayed innocent for him.
I LOVE the stalker obsessed villain trope, and Tuo is AMAZING! He is so dark and twisted when it comes to Nerissa, he’ll do anything to have her. He’s come up with an entire plot to ensure that she falls in love with him, with a contingency plan to hedge his bets. Nerissa is FIERCE, and while she is attracted to Tuo, she is still afraid of getting drawn back into that life. Eventually though she realizes she does love him. That doesn’t change the outcome when she finds out some of the things he’s done to keep her, nor does it change some of the plot twists. This is dark and twisty, you’ll definitely want to read the content warnings. But I just could not stop reading it. I hope the next book is just as good.

Nerissa finally got over her pain and was happily living her life, many years after being kicked out of the Vece household following her mum’s death, but Tuommo on thx other hand hadn’t forgotten her or the pact they made with each other. Tuommo never got over his love for Nerissa and returned on the agreed date to claim her, but things didn’t actually go the way he planned, so he made her a deal and put his Plan B into action.
Even though Nerissa was weary about the time they were spending together, her attraction for him only grew stronger, but the other parts of her life was getting out of her control and this worried her. Unfortunately, chaos ensued just as they settled into their relationship, when Tuommo’s family discovered their secret and on top of that Nerissa found out her life was about to change forever. Whilst Nerissa was apprehensive about telling Tuommo about her news, she didn’t expect his reaction to the news.
Nerissa started to question everything that had happened and thereby discovered Tuommo’s treachery, which led her kick him out of her life. Nevertheless, Tuommo was prepared to accept her decision and put a plan in place, especially as he had done so much to ensure he got what he wanted. Luckily, Nerissa’s heart won over her mind when the day of reckoning arrived and they finally got a chance to have the life they both deserved.
This was a truly dark romance, that deals with obsessive love, family drama and steamy encounters, that will have you totally wrapped-up in the story from beginning until the end. This is a definite must read book, so I suggest urgently you to grab a copy of this book now.

When Nerissa's mother dies, Tuomo believes that his father had her killed to punish Tuomo for his relationship with Nerissa and then his father sends Nerissa away. Before she leaves, Tuomo and Nerissa make a pact to marry each other when she turns twenty-five if neither of them is married or in love.
Years later, Tuomo has become a ruthless and powerful mafia boss in his own right and he tracks down Nerissa, who is now a law student trying to escape her past and build a new life for herself. An interesting choice to make her a law student I think. Tuomo stalks Nerissa, watching her from afar and interfering in her life. When Nerissa turns twenty-five, Tuomo shows up at her apartment and demands that she honor their pact. Obviously she's scared of him and thinks he's a monster and rejects him which makes him mad and things happen that need a trigger warning.
Nerissa is torn between her fear of Tuomo and his family and her growing feelings for him, which I'm still trying to really understand.
He has a lot to prove in terms of being someone better for Nerissa and the story explores toxic love and the dangers of obsession. I'm not sure that I should be reading too deep into it, but the ending is happy and kind of leaves you with questions of the MC's motivations and if there is actually love.

Nerissa is the daughter of a maid for the Vece’s family. She has her 2 brothers who are soldiers for the family and she is just a school girl at 17. Her mother has warned her about the Vece’s sons. So she is playing with fire when she catches the eye of the second son. Tuomo at 29 finds himself enraptured with the maid's daughter, she is young about to turn 18. But it’s not because she is just another girl, nope he knows this is his future wife. Now he just needs to keep his hands off her until she is old enough. Story of a forbidden romance, age gap 12 years, she is not from the right family and is the maid's daughter making his father forbids a relationship. This book does contain topics and scenes that may be disturbing to some, please remember we are reading a mafia dark romance, with a man character with the mentality of ‘if I can’t have her, no one will’ or ‘She is mine, so I can take.’ Stalking, breaking & entering, messing with prescriptions, wiretapping, snooping emails/texts/calls. He is a barely restrained maniac when it comes to his ‘little bird.’ Seriously, Hannah Rio, I don’t know how you do it but this was another great story. Loved the Stalker/Obsessed/Villain that will do whatever to keep his girl protected and safe from unwanted hands even his own.

The blurb to this book sucks you in and I was expecting a very dark Mafia second chance romance. It definitely is not as dark as some I have read, but still an interesting read with plenty of angst, secrets and Tuomo acting like a typical Mafia mobster.
Although written in both POV's, the story is focused on Tuomo and what he wants and how he gets it.
A showdown occurs after Nerissa turns 25. The pact that they made when she was still a teen, meant nothing to her and she had forgotten Tuomo even existed after the six years they had been apart.
Tuomo though, continued to stalk her, tap into her phone and un-alived any man that thought they stood a chance to be with her.
When he came to her after her birthday party with a custom made ring ready to make her his, he found that she was unwilling to just fall back into his arms again.
The rollercoaster ride that has Tuomo trying hard to make Nerissa fall in love with him sets the scenes for this story. Steamy nights together, whilst he makes sure that she remains by his side will astound you as to the way he makes sure she carries his child.
Yes, they do end up with the HEA but not without a lot of interference by his familia and Nerissa not knowing what she really wants!
If you like really really dark romance then this is not the book for you, but definitely is leaning towards the dark side in what Tuomo wants and how he makes it happen!

This story sent me through a rollercoaster of emotions. The story between Tuomo and Nerissa began when she was just the daughter of Tuomo’s family maid. When his evil father found out, he vowed to keep her away from him and he would have to marry who he thought was the right fit. So Nerissa is sent away and Tuomo vows to make her his. How? By following her every single day, by bugging her phone and knowing everything about her for the last 7 years until she graduated college. Only then does he set his plan to get her to fall in love
and marry him is set in motion.
I really struggled with the tactics that Tuomo used to “get” Nerissa to fall for him. There is a lot of deceit and stalking and it should be all wrong, but I get that he thinks that this is all he could do to secure that his jerk of a father will accept her as his wife and that sends me into an emotional tug of war. I do love when a book does this and makes me see things in a different way and makes me consider things I would have as a non-negotiable in real life. And this book delivers on all aspects. At the base of it is a man that fell in love and waiting for a long time to have that love again and he doesn’t and won’t let her go and that really pulls on my heart strings.

She's his to covet. His to posess. His to cherish. The years of separation have done nothing to quell his posessive desires, but does she agree. The story of Tuomo and Nerissa sucked me in, captivated me and left me emotionally spent (in the best way). Rio has crafted an a gripping dark Mafia romance sure to keep you buried in the story as you search to discover what the future holds for these two characters.
Tuomo's siblings make appearances and of course dear old dad, in all his glory (😤), as Tuomo puts his plans into action to reignite an inferno with Nerissa. He's not a morally noble man, not even grey morsls, and has an entitlement issue. Be warned, obsessive behaviors are abundant (see trigger warnings) in his quest. Nerissa is caught in his sight and despite her desires for freedom, is helpless against tide.
I have enjoyed all three books in this series. This one is the darkest, IMO. The twists and turns in Tuomo's obsessive journey kept me riveted to my seat and wanting desperately to discover final outcome. It is a standalone, complete story, which I highly recommend reading (again - check trigger warnings, please!)

3.75☆...I liked the read. Tuomos's character was a bit of a conundrum. In the beginning, it seems like he's not like his family. He's softer, doesn't really want to be involved in the business, but his character is just as crazy. Very OTT possessive, touch her and die… literally. by the end, I was wondering how he understood some of his actions weren't right like the job and BC tampering, but never once considered how wrong he was for killing innocent guys just for trying to date his girl. Didn't even try scaring them off or making them leave town. I would have liked a bit more closure on a few things like her mom's death. For something that effected her so much, she never tried to get answers. What happened with her brothers and why did they never see her before or after she left. Her back and forth, push and pull was understandable, but the constant state got a bit tedious. I also would have liked a epilogue. A bit later when she goes into labor or a few years later to make the book feel more wrapped up. Overall, I enjoyed the story

This is the 3rd book from the Vece Series. Nerissa's mother works as housekeeper at the Vece Mansion. She has told her daughter to stay away from the brothers, upon request of their father. Tuomo is obsessive when it comes to Nerissa, even though she is so young. This is an intriguing story, with age-gap, twists and turns, violence and steam.

I've read all 3 of the books in this series and this one definitely feels the darkest. It's a sign of a well written book when the male lead is stalking the woman he loves, gets her pregnant by swapping her contraception and you still want her to turn up at the alter!
I really feel for Tuomo his family never made him feel loved or part of the family they only ever told him what he did wrong. As part of a mafia family, not the first born son he wasn't important enough to his father. When he met Nerissa he knew she was the woman he would marry and have a family with but when his father found out they were sneaking around he sent her away.
Tuomo waited patiently, keeping watch over Nerissa until it was time to make his move.
This is a strong romance but it's dark, their love was written in the stars but the things he had to do to get them there were sometimes hard to read. If you don't like the darker side of mafia stories then this isn't the book for you but it does have a HEA.

Something New is the third installment in the REVENGE BRIDES: The Vece Familia Mafia series. Something New is the intricate story of Nerissa and Tuomo which I thought both of these characters were well-developed. The chemistry between Nerissa and Tuomo is quite electrifying. I couldn’t get enough of their amazing story, and I absolutely love that these two have a happy ending to their amazing story. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know both Nerissa and Tuomo as well as witnessing their story coming to life through Author Hannah Rio’s amazing writing skills. My belief is that Author Hannah Rio is amazing at storytelling and is an absolutely remarkable writer. I would most certainly encourage other readers to give this book and develop their own opinions about this mafia romance book. Even though I absolutely loved reading this amazing book that doesn’t always mean the next reader will enjoy the book like I did. I can’t wait to see what else Author Hannah Rio will write about in her next book.

Holy woah, this one met my expectations and then exceeded them with the reality of mafia moments. The darkness that comes from a family who deals in shadows and seedy deals meets the innocence of young love that was meant to have disappeared over time. But can time truly pass over what should be considered a once in a lifetime love?
For Tuomo, absolutely not. For Nerissa, she's tried.
I absolutely love just how well this stayed on point, proving that there are not easy roads through all travels and to keep from putting spoilers in here, I will absolutely not be telling you if there is a HEA. I will only state that you will be made to laugh, you will be made to cry, and you will absolutely be left rooting for the happiness of these two. Keep your fingers crossed to see if things move forward, or get tossed into the bin because too many years have passed.

Nerissa's mother worked as a maid and Nerissa was just seventeen but thought she had a friendship with the boss's son, Tuomo.
The only thing was he twenty nine and he told her he loved her.
They got caught one night and soon after her mother was killed, possibly murdered and Nerissa was sent away.
He made her a promise that they would get together when she was twenty five, the only thing is she had grown up and didn't love him.
He had kept a watch in her all this time and time was up.
The story really starts from there as he will stop at nothing to have her regardless.
Killing anyone getting too close to her to sabotaging her job opportunities and lots more.
Hard to put the story down.

OH WOW this was another great book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was totally intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted. Nerissa meets Tuomo Nece for the first time since her mother was the housekeeper for this mafia family. He was intrigued with her as the way she looks and walk. The chemistry between them was sexual tension and the physical attraction was spicy hot!!!! Be one thing was on her mind was betrayed and revenge in having power. Could love to stop her for her mission. How would her love react to the drama and chaos.

October 30, 2024I loved the stalker vibes that Tuomo gives out during the book. He was very much the alpha possessive person he needed to be when it came to Nerissa. I loved Nerissa overall, but she was very much a fish out of water when it came to love and relationships (how could she not be because of Tuomo!). These two really are the perfect pair. I would have liked to understand where this story falls in with Dalila as there wasn't much mention of her being with Nevo, so hard to gauge where this story happens exactly in the Vece world.

I loved this book it was definitely sade for Nerissa I really felt sorry for her until she was sent away, that was when she grew into a strong intelligent female that was until she sees him again and that's when her life started to spiral again. Tuomo Vece is a Mafia man, Tuomo is the one that goes against his father. Tuomo thinks he has been in love with her for the five or six years. The twist and turns, the screw ups, conniving, dangerous, manipulation, passion, and so much more emotions throughout what will happen when she works out what he has done to her.

This is Tuomo and Nerisa’s story. The story line is filled with undeniable attraction, stalkerish tendencies, unexpected twist. The MC was determined in his obsessive love towards the FC, while she was behaving a bit childish.
Something that bothered me was Tuomo’s relationship with his brothers. I would have given 3 stars but I enjoyed the first two books of the series, so I am giving a chance for the next books of the series. I want to read about Celso and Rufino.

This one drew my interest from it's blurb. The forbidden romance mixed with danger is always a promising twist read. Something New was twisted in a light, mild way. While it gave a Happy ever after, I felt like it lacked the full dark element that could have been developed further. Honestly, this story did leave a lot to be desired for me. However, it was a nice read. I feel like it needed more depth in order to bring it to it's fullest potential. Nevertheless, this a story for those hopeless romantics out there that likes a bit of mild darkness such as stalking & break-and-entering.

They have this special chemistry that is all about him being alpha and dominant and everything goes his way. But she makes it hard for him in every step.
Well done. Brutal, dark and dangerous. Tuomo and Nerissa were a startling couple and well matched. Great plot and fantastic characters. Can't wait for more!!

Dark romance, age gap, stalking...
This was my first book by this author. I wasn't disappointed and i really enjoyed it.
It had drama, a bit of suspense, so many feelings, and lots of spice.
Tuomo's love and obsession knew no bounds when it came to Nerissa. Of course his actions where not right and a side of crazy. However, I couldn't help but love him. He never stopped loving Nerissa no matter what.
I will admit, i wasn't sure how things were gonna work out, after she found out the truth. I can honestly, that I loved the ending the author gave us.
I think this was a great read!

He waited until she turned twenty-five when he put his plan in action. Stalking, murder, mullatesion, etc.
He was very unstable. He reminded me of a person who need a lot thereby. Unfortunately, he came from a brutal family. They only cared about making money.

Stalking Perfection: 7 Year Pact
Tuomo’s stalking and commitment to being secretly present in Nerissa’s life gave me Joe Goldberg from You but with a relationship history.
Nerissa had my empathy throughout, this woman needed a break. I kind of wished she had warmed back up to Tuomo earlier in the reunion but it did make the chase more fun to see unfold. It was in suspense on how the relationship would pan out. Loved that he just wanted to be a provider for her.

What can I not say about this book? It is absolutely mind blowing, a page turner, and shows you that no matter what you look like love is only skin deep inside is where it is. Delila gets gambled off in a poker to a man that everyone calls a monster because of a scar he was born with. But there’s a secret why! Delila learns that the man is the sweetest man ever. Nevio Instantly falls in love and can’t believe he actually got to marry her but something happened that make you question love, family, and trust. Will Delila and Nevio have the happy ever after they’ve wanted?

I loved it and would highly recommend it. I love stalker romances.
It is hard to find a good BC tampering romance and was glad to come across this one.
The hero is not a true anti hero with no regrets. He is softer than many of the dark romances I read, but he is still has possessive over the top alpha male that will do anything to get what he wants.
I belong to the Facebook group Breeder Readers. I particularly love dark, taboo, breeding romances. I hope that Hannah Rio writes more books like this one!

I'm totally torn - in real life, Nerissa would've gotten a serious smackdown from me, BFF-style, but as a fictional tale, I devoured it! 😅😂 I expected more of the same vibe as the first book, but this one took a darker, twisty turn - think possessive MMC on steroids, minus the cute. Stalking, non-con, and manipulation? Yeah, didn't see that coming, mainly because I skipped the graphics shared for it and didn’t read the overview, too invested in the series after book one.

Her life will change big time especially when she gets pregnant. This is such a brilliant read as you follow them as they both try to get the future they want, even if it is different to what the other wants.
