Born with the rarest power. The fated mate of the most powerful, strongest, and handsome men in our pack.
I was going to change the world, and bring the Wolf Nation to great heights.
Until I murdered my mate during the bonding ceremony and took off.
I know what you’re thinking.
He must have treated me terribly.
Nope. You couldn’t have met a sweeter guy.
He was a hundred years old with three rotting teeth, body odor, and aggressive toe fungus.
Again, nope. He was six feet of young, dark, sexy, and handsome with abs that made you weep.
But then why, why, blah, blah, blah.
You want answers. Everyone does.
I blew into Corvin Academy with a bounty on my head and blackmail that makes me untouchable. But everyone from the alpha council to the five blisteringly hot and angry mates I rejected are determined to find out why I killed our future alpha, and what I’m going to do next. They’re even more determined to put me on a leash.
Yes, yes. Everyone wants a reason for the terrible, awful thing that I did and the betrayal of everything I once held dear, but I’m going to save you some time and boil it down to
The villain in this story … It’s me.
Moon Kissed is a paranormal bully romance that features dark themes, spice, language, and wickedly hot shifter love interests. This is book one of a trilogy. Not standalone.
Ruby Vincent is a published author with many novels under her belt but now she's taking a fun foray into contemporary romance. She loves saucy heroines, bold alpha males, and weaving a tale where both get their happy ever after.
I saved this book months before it came out because the blurb sounded great. Unfortunately, it fell extremely short of expectations for me. There isn’t a likable character in this book. I honestly can’t get past one of the “mates” committing a homophobic hate crime regardless of his sad boy reason. I do enjoy a good bully romance but it turns into just straight up assault with them tying her up in the air and hitting her like a piñata. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the writing itself. The author tried to make Daze a character who is always three steps ahead with everything already planned in advance, but it just comes off super clunky and unbelievable. 🥲
I thought the premise of the book had some merit but I wasn’t really a fan. The men are so unlikeable, and even with a ton of grovel, I don’t see them being redeemed. They’re just mean and not good people. The story was all over the place and felt hard to follow at times. It had twists that felt random and not super cohesive with the book, so the book didn’t flow very really well. I think the world building was pretty good so I give it two stars instead of one. Definitely surprised by my experience since it has such positive reviews
It felt like a draft rather than a finished book, very poorly written, I couldn't believe it was written by Ruby. The protagonist wanted to be crazy, but it was embarrassing.
4.5⭐️ OKAY WAIT THE WAY I INHALED THIS BOOK IS INSANE!!! I felt a book slump coming on and this one just made it all go away… You’re either going to love the FMC, Daciana, or you’re going to hate her😭 I’m not going to lie… I loved her😭 like this book gave everything it needed to give. A VILLAINOUS FMC, WHY CHOOSE, REJECTED FATED MATES, a plot that had me so confused yet immersed into what was going on, WEREWOLVES, vampires, fae, the CHOSEN ONE trope, revenge plot… like I WAS SAT??? Like so entertained? I literally was giggling at some of the dialogue bc at times it was a bit unserious but, i literally ate this up. And, after that ending, I’m sick that I have to wait for book 2, but I 100% will. So so so good! The chapters were a little long, but…. at the same time i didn’t care because it was so much going on that this book had me in a chokehold.
Words cannot express how mad I am. What the actual f?
I will not lie the story had great had potential in the Beginning. I was invested in everything, but I get where trying to be vague and all but holy—— info dump at the end. I cant even process everything.
I do love the villain era trope but omg 😧 if you dont finish the book or know or patient enough to see what the reasons of her actions are, shes like one of those antagonists that steals the pack away from the protagonist. But if you do in fact finish and see it through the end her motivations and all why and how? Wtf is going on. I mean you will get answers, but i still left dumbfounded by these men. I cant.
Also, I dont think one of the MMCS reasons to justify idk —- what they said and did. Also good gawd these men are vapid af i cant—- the fmc i try understand her but, sadly this book was a no.
Ça me déçoit beaucoup.
RH: is f*cked up, 6 mates, one dead, the other rejected
This book has such a very good twist🤯🤯 it's NOT over until the last sentence. The entire book is suspenseful as to what will happen next If you want to read something with a good twist and a fucked up story read this (you won't regret it).
FMC ( Daze) : “Villains,” I finished, smirk stretching my lips. “Trust me, you get comfortable with the title given enough time. Haven’t you ever noticed that in the movies... only the villains are having any fun.”
I thought she was a bitch but she's not what she seems
This is one of the best books I've read in a really really long time!! The jaw dropping twists and turns were spectacular every time I thought I had an inkling of what was going in, the tables would turn and it would go in a completely different off the walls crazy direction!! Absolutely brilliantly executed. Mind blowing!!
Wowwww, I was not expecting this! I LOVE the FMC, I love that she's a villain. I'm iffy on her bonds, but I'm SO THRILLED for the next book!!! That cliffhanger left me almost crying and screaming for moreeeeeee
TERRIBLE The MMCs hang her like a piñata, beat her with a stick, burn her feet badly, and humiliate her by filming all of it while she’s running naked. WTF
Also Castor wasn’t alive like I thought. This doesn’t even deserve a one star rating.

I liked this book, and I am definitely interested in continuing the series, but honestly, I can't figure how I feel about Daze. Throughout the book, sometimes I thought she was strong and then other times I thought she was all talk. She was a mystery, just like much of this book. Thankfully, for the author, I like not being able to guess how a story will go.
The beginning of the book opened with her killing one of her fated mates and rejecting her other mates. She went on the run for a year, hiding from the Wolf Nation, and then just popped back in, blackmailing the headmistress of a wolf academy. Despite being called a murderer and being considered a pariah, she decided she wanted to attend the academy for whatever reason. Her 5 mates were also attending the school, and they made it their mission to make her life a living h3ll, while also finding out why she k!lled one of their friends/brothers. There began the cycle of her being bullied, her saying "Game On" but not really doing much to get back at them, and her being abused repeatedly, while somehow fighting the urge to bed her mates. Her struggling against her urges, while they treated her terribly is exactly why I hate fated mates and bully romance. I wanted to give it a chance though, because I like Vincent's books and because I couldn't have imagined how bad the bullying would be, and how little Daze would do in the face of the bullying. Don't get me wrong, she eventually got revenge, but it seemed like getting revenge against her mates wasn't really a priority. She seemed fine with punishing them a little and just getting over their actions. To be fair, she k!lled their friend/brother so they had a right to be angry, but that didn't mean she needed to forgive them, especially so easily. I can't see myself ever WANTING her to be with her mates, because none of them really deserve her. So imagine my disappointment when she caved to one of them. It was one of the least deplorable mates so there's that, but I hate how she lost the fight to her instinct to mate. I needed more groveling and for them to come together because they CHOSE to do so rather than because they were fated. This is just my personal preference though and doesn't take anything away from the book.
This book constantly kept me on my times and never got boring because I was always trying to figure out what Daze was plotting. Vincent did a good job of slowly unveiling the secrets, sprinkling bits and pieces of information throughout the pages. I was not prepared for the whirlwind of information thrown out at the end. Not many books surprise me anymore, but wow. To me, the big secret she was keeping made her mates' actions even MORE unforgiveable, and it also made me want to read the next books even more. I'm hoping that in the future we get more scenes of Daze being a bada*s because in this book she simply plotted, got outmaneuvered a few times, but also came out on top more times than not. She referenced herself as a queen several times, but personally didn't do much to prove that to me. I found out she knew how to fight in her athletics class and this surprised me, because one, she was being relentlessly bullied and two, she didn't have one REAL fight in this entire book. I hope to see her in action in the next book. When she calls herself a queen, I want to believe it, and I want to see her men bowing at her feet begging for forgiveness. Though secretly, I'm not against Vincent introducing a nice, loyal alpha to Daze and her breaking the bonds with all her mates. But hey that's just me. 😂🤷
What did I just read?! Honestly, Daciana is not a likeable character. However, she is formidable and has grand plans for their world. The first was to kill one of her fated mates, who was perceived as nice guy. When she finally gets to the Academy, she meets her other 5 fated mates. One is Castor's brother, Badr. They all seemed to have suffered the consequences in the year since she killed him.
As you read further on, truths start to unravel and major changes happen to everyone surrounding her, for better or the worse (depending on which side you're on).
Major bullying occurs by mean girls and even the fated mates. One mate burns her and they all watch as others beat her with bats and other objects. The mate, Nyx, videos this and calls her a pinata. It's a tough read as none of her mates are that likeable either. I'm hoping we'll see developments in the next books. Daciana does get her revenge against them though.
Regarding the plot, it's pretty fast-paced and engaging but toward the end, I felt that all the events that happened was explained away too easily. Daciana seems to have an answer to everything.
Her mates don't really differentiate from each other as some actively bully her and some are just more complacent. That's the only way I can tell the difference. Badr is the one that really hates her. The mates consists of: -Edric - wind wolf -Orion - fire wolf -Paxton - water wolf seems to be the "kindest" of her mates. I'm interested to see the fallout of their bond. -Nyx - earth wolf -Badr - sun wolf that leads the campaign of hating Daciana
For tropes: - Academy, paranormal (wolves, vampires, fae), bully - Villains, anti-heroes - Strong female character - Fated & rejected mates - Chosen one - Revenge
Loving this. Daciana (or Daze as she prefers) seems smart as a whip although not invincible as she is (frequently?) bested. Her wolf ripped out the throat of one of her six fated mates at the bonding ceremony and she went on the run for a year, hoping the bond would break or at least weaken. Now she’s blackmailed the alpha council into allowing her to attend Corvin Academy. Her five remaining fated mates are already there. Absolutely no one wants her at the academy and make her life miserable. She’s able to win a battle now and then, occasionally assisted by her mates' compulsion to protect if another male shows interest in her. They hate this but can’t seem to get past it. An even more amusing scenario is their reaction if she displays any kind of overt sexuality.
I like Paxton* but wonder why an omega is one of her mates when the others are alphas. How about adding a beta?
Daze seems to have a vendetta although the reader isn’t immediately privy to what it is. Does it concern her dead mother or what appears to be her father’s subsequent breakdown?
Who is Lucia?** Why did Daze kill Castor?***
Really nice twisty ending. At least one of Daze’s mates seems to have gone over the edge. Even though he doesn’t believe what she is telling him, the reader gets the answers to most questions.
*Opinion changes **Found out just past the halfway point. ***Finally revealed
3.5 stars. Phew! That was an intense, wild ride of a book and that cliffy… well, I was relieved to learn the rest of the trilogy is expected to come out in only a few months’ time. This book started with a bang and then the bullying, revenge, mysteries and revelations just kept coming. Daze and her fated mates are not always likeable, though more so for some and less so for others as we learn more about them. I liked that the guys were all clearly differentiated by their powers, motivations, trauma and behaviour, and even in the midst of extreme antagonism, their fated link to the FMC stood clear. The last few chapters were a bit of a whirlwind (a bit too rushed), but also somewhat satisfying. There’s a fair bit of world building throughout, seeing as this is the first book and setting the scene with all the wolf shifter lore (and how it ties into other species). It got a little confusing, but was making more sense by the end… yet who knows where everything is going to end up two more books down the track! Note that the bullying and dark aspects get full on, and the wolf shifter culture is portrayed as quite rough and tumble (their version of football is not gentle!). I think the book would benefit from a TW list, as is becoming more common (I didn’t spot one).
Finally a character whose ACTUALLY morally gray leaning more true villan. AND ITS THE FMC!!!! Be still my beating heart!
I need to start off by saying this story is insane and VERYYYYY dark. And I mean that truly. There was not a moment I knew what was coming next. The author strings you along with little tidbits here and there. Then, by the last couple pages you finally get it.....which was incredibly refreshing actually.
I've never really read a book with a female character who at times you actually want to strangle. But she's also so entertaining and keeps you on your toes. You never really really understand who she is under all her facades until the end.
The MMC's I think I need another book to be able to start to understand them fully. Paxton and Edric are the most interesting to me at the moment. We get to learn a bit about Nyx and what could happen with him. Currently, I hate Orion and Badr... but I hope In the next book we get to understand and explore their characters more.
I need all of them to grovel HARD for Daciana to ever actually accept them. Overall, I was pretty swept up by this book and really enjoyed it.
I am so happy to be done with this book. I hate it. From beginning to end. Every single character was trash. Like there literally wasn't one character worth and level of sympathy. I couldn't really behind any of them and that makes a book torture to get through.
Let's talk about the pacing and world building. The pacing was weird. Honestly, it felt like all of these events were crammed into a few weeks worth of time and that's a lot. I never got time to process anything that was happening. The way they revealed Daze's vendetta was awkward too. She's may have good reasons for doing what she did, but they made her so unlikeable that I truly didn't care why in the end. There were points where we would get what someone was thinking then someone would answer or respond or loud... That was confusing. I dunno it was just not a good book.
I'm not even sure how someone could make me hate an Omega, but I did. Every character in this book was hot trash and none of them had ANY redeeming qualities. I won't be reading the next book because I truly don't care about what happens to these characters or where their story goes from here. 🤷🏽♀️
it’s been a while since i’ve read a book that had so many twists and turns… i was actually very impressed
the dynamic between fmc and her men is a harsh one - if you don’t like bullying/degradation/humiliation then don’t read this cause they make her pay in some not great ways and by the end you’re still mad at them because they really are stubborn idiots dumbfucks
the cliffie is harsh too 😅 makes you wanna throw your kindle and demand to know what happens next
NOW… the reason why i’m so conflicted about rating this is because at some point in the book it became too much information to keep up 🙃 dominion? 5 elements? abo thing? shadow? destiny? like babe slow down!!!
I know this is a slow burn but it’s way too plot focused… which is not always a good thing cause you eventually need some redeeming scenes or some shit like that with the fmc and her guys.
i’m hoping for some emotional and vulnerable (as much as she can) daze next book. and some crawling men too. if this doesnt happen i’ll riot
Complex and fascinating magical shifter saga. This story is so frustrating (in a good way) because the mystery just keeps getting more intense up to the very end. Some answers are revealed then, but not all is well, therefore cliff hanger! Our heroine was born and raised as a magical high priestess of a rigid society of wolf shifters. When she comes of age her multiple mates are revealed in a ceremony, but without explanation she lashes out and kills the first one. The other five mates and the entire shifter world are stunned and she hides away for the next year. She then appears at an academy and blackmail the authorities into pardoning her and allowing her to stay at the school. Unfortunately her spurned mates also attend and they bully her relentlessly. Throughout I just kept turning pages asking Why? The anticipation is delicious, but frustrating. Hopefully the next volumes will be out soon, but it's doubtful because this is a quality work for the genre.
I would give the book a resounding 3.5/5 ⭐️ So the book begins with the bonding ceremony of Daciana and her mates. During the ceremony, Daciana aka Daze, ends up killing one of her mates. Fast forward a year later and Daze is attending Corvin Academy with her 5 remaining mates and EVERYONE is out for Daze’s blood, none more so than her mates. I will start by saying that in my opinion, there is not 1 likable character in the first book…not even 1. Although unlikable, I could understand the motivations of her mates. They all lost something when Daze killed Castor. We don’t learn of Daze’s motivations behind her actions up until the last chapter. I hate how rushed the ending was. It felt like the author had to speedrun to tidy up all of the loose ends which left me feeling like I had whiplash. Some TW’s to look out for are extreme bullying, murder (though not gruesome,) attempted SA, talks of MM, and a homophobic hate crime. Be warned
Man I shouldn't have doubted Ms Vincent. The FMC! Sisters! Chefs kiss.
Still wouldn't mind if the mmcs died. Don't really see how they can redeem themselves. But I'll read every additional book to get more of my queen, Daciana.
Previous review:
It's two for now because the bullying is fu#king horrible. The fmc seems tough until she's being bullied then she crumples like wet tissue. I mean i get it but here's a killer that can't take pain. Meh. That said I'm only half way through Also I don't like any of them. All suck equally. I don't feel anything for the guys except a vague wish they die
To me Ruby Vincent has always been a Queen of bully romance and unbelievable twists and turns that you never see coming! Well she’s definitely proved me right again with this book! She’ll have you guessing and at the edge of your seat from the first chapter till the very last sentence. If you like shifter romance with bullying from the mates and the FMC taking it all on the chin only to turn around and dole out her justice with a swift and brutal hand - this story is definitely for you!
Okayyyy, I’ve read a lot of books, like 100s year and I must say this receive the 5 star. This is action packed non stop drama. You never know what is next, where it’s gonna go and how it’ll end. The writing, storyline and pure savagery of the main character is unmatched. I’ve read Fourth Wing, A Court of Throne and Roses and J Bree’s many storylines. I would say it is very similar to J Bree’s story’s and better than A Court of Throne and Roses . I devoured this book in one sitting and it was totally worth it. Now to wait for the next installment
So I spent the first 75% of this book thinking that this was a hot mess. But the last 25% hooked me and now I'm actually dying to find out what happens next.
**No spoilers, but thoughts on overall story building** There were a huge reveal at the end that answers all of the questions and "holes" (for lack of a better term) throughout the book. I could tell that these answers would be revealed at some point in the story, but it almost felt like in the process of being intentionally vague and leaving out details, things got a little messy throughout.
4.75⭐️. Wow if your looking for a book where the Fmc has enemies then this is your book
I loved this! The story is full of twists and turns and I do like the Fmc. She kicks ass.
Curious to find out how she can possibly take them as her fated. Just hope book 2 delivers and it’s not a case of “oh your my fated and biology overrules all the hatred and bullying/violence you done to me”the instance you become shirtless.
Fingers crossed she remains resolute before she takes them back.
