"Ma petite mort. My little death. She is both the salvation and my sin."
Giselle and Bjorn are the best couple in the series, I said what I said!!! Because of them, Ma Petite Mort is now my favourite of the three books.
You can tell that it's part of the same series, but it's also completely different which is what worked for me. Really, it's the Norse mythology that I can never resist, and this one had plenty of it.
Then there's Raiden...of course he's from Berlin, of course!! Haha. When he was first described, I knew. I'm looking forward to seeing .
I liked the ending, but also didn't. As in I didn't like the thing, because I don't think it fits the story. It felt so random when it happened. But I like that it seems like the right time to do that.
Also, I'm just now realising I should've read Slay All the Way before this for more of Johnny, oopsie. I was trying to remember who Alaska was and if we've seen here before (maybe we have?), but I drew a blank, so I'm guessing that's where she was introduced? I'll be picking that one up next just in case while we wait for book four.
nova’s books will forever have me in the biggest chokehold. especially this series full of unhinged craziness that has your mind absolutely exploding off your body 🤩
thank you so much nova for giving me the pleasure of being with these characters again and arc reading 🖤
this is book three of the cirque du désir series !! it is a dark erotic horror, pitch black, twisted and depraved 🎪
oh how i absolutely ate this one up 😍 i missed being in this wild atmosphere that is cirque du désir !! literally have been biting my nails waiting to be back. following bjorn and giselle along in this book was everything i needed omg. definitely read your triggers and start with the first book !! it will make a lot more sense and just seeing the other characters again in this book felt like coming home 🥹 i love them all and this series is always such a banger !!
The Gods are hungry. Tonight, is an offering. A sacrifice. The Gods will be fed.
As are the first two, this is a pitch black erotic horror - check the content warnings, this series is dark & not for the faint of heart.
I will say, I definitely think Maison De Fous was a lot darker, but I enjoyed this one more. I like how we got a little bit more of a relationship (albeit dark & depraved) between Giselle & Bjorn. Their dialogues to each other were 😮💨👌🥵
It’s a short but fast paced read, with fire one liners & the ending was sweet, their fucked up little found family🥹 I’m definitely interested to see where it goes from here!
I absolutely loved books one and two of this series so I was super excited to get an eARC of Ma Petite Mort. But honestly I might have set my own expectations a bit too high because of how much I enjoyed the other books. MPM felt very repetitive and just didn’t capture my attention the way I thought it would. I did enjoy the ending with everyone coming together and the little teaser or what may be coming in the future. 3.5
This was the perfect finale to the deliciously chaotic and unhinged 𝖈𝖎𝖗𝖖𝖚𝖊 𝖉𝖚 𝖉𝖊𝖘𝖎𝖗 🔥
This series is for the ones who dare peep through covered eyes; the ones who giggle at 𝖐𝖊𝖙𝖈𝖍𝖚𝖕 𝖕𝖆𝖈𝖐𝖊𝖙. This is for the masochists that cringe at knife play, but live for the thrill of it all. Cirque du desir is that thrill ride wrapped in horror, gore and irredeemable 𝖕𝖎𝖙𝖈𝖍 𝖇𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐 men that leave you questioning your sanity 🖤
𝕰𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝕬𝖙 𝕺𝖜𝖓 𝕽𝖎𝖘𝖐 !! x
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
✦ erotic horror (check your triggers) ✦ blood play ✦ sacrilege and SO much more 🫣🔥
I asked for more Bjorn & Giselle in my last review, and holy fuck, did we get it!! I'm absolutely obsessed with these two.
This entire book was an offering to the old gods, and I couldn’t get enough. It was dark, twisted and gory as fuck. I would expect nothing less from Nova.
The ending? Chef’s kiss!! I can't wait to see how this fucked up little found family raise this baby. Let the uncle Johnny shenanigans commence!
Also, Raiden...OH.MY.GODS. Yes please. More of that!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Nova never misses and this book is no different. This pitch black romance is fast paced but worth every second!
Ma petite mort continues the Cirque du desir story but we see the atomic chemistry between Giselle and Bjorn on a night where offerings to the gods are plentiful!
Full of playful banter, lots of heat and definitely some blood Giselle and Bjorn’s story is nothing short of explosive 🔥
Dayum. That was spicy and messed up: I like it! 😂 I read this in one go, because it was hard to put down. There was gore, spice and worshipping/serving the Norse gods. This story was wild and packed a punch for the 119 pages it is. A fun, spicy, short erotic horror!
Savage, feral and SPICY. Welcome back to Cirque Du Desir! This was the last book and man did it go out with a bang! Bijorn got his night to shine and OMG did he shine. This was dark and this was twisted and it did not disappoint. Loved getting to see some older characters having their fun in Bijorns world. My favorite psycho Johnny being Johnny. And our ever loving Dark Queen Indie and her King, Lux. Nova left us with some crumbs and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next. 🎪 Check those trigger warnings, my friends.
Amazing 3rd book in the Cirque Du Désir series! I absolutely love this series and I’ve been looking forward to reading this book for months. And it was even better than I could have ever imagined!
I loved both Bjorn and Giselle as characters. Bjorn was more reserved, while Giselle, like she said herself, was a mess, more theatrical. Both of them were crazy in their own ways. I loved their dynamic, and you could really feel how deeply they cared about each other. And I loved getting a few flashbacks to their shared past.
Loved seeing the familiar characters from previous books back in action. Lux and Indie are amazing together, and I loved how much confidence Indie has gained since the beginning of A La Folie. Johnny is my favorite type of psycho, chaotic in the best way possible. Also loved seeing Alaska from Slay All the Way. She matched Johnny’s craziness perfectly!
There was a lot happening, and a few scenes made me question my sanity, but I absolutely loved every second of it. The ending was so sweet and made me tear up. The epilogue was something I didn’t see coming, but I’m so excited!
As someone from the Nordics, I loved seeing Nordic influence in the book.
Please check the trigger warnings before reading! Your mental health matters.
“Some are here to watch. Some are here to die. And a few real special snowflakes? Well… they haven’t decided yet.” “Tonight, we offer flesh for favor. Bone for blessing. Blood for balance.” “Blood. Skin. Sin. The holy trinity of the Cirque Du Désir.” “They say murder isn’t the answer. Cute. Murder’s always the answer—you’re just not asking the right questions.” “He came like a choirboy and bled like a sacrifice. Ten outta ten. Would kill again.” “There’s blood in the holy water, glitter on the corpses, and more than one set of teeth where they shouldn’t be.”
Thank you, Nova, for letting me both beta and ARC read this book! 🖤 Beta & ARC reading didn’t affect my opinion of the book, and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
The 3rd installment was every bit of wild and unhinged that you want it to be. We get Bjorn & Giselle both wild and crazy but in their own ways with a dash of theatrical. The flashbacks they give us add a component of shared history that creates for more background and build.
Of course seeing our favorites from the other books was something I was most looking forward too. Lux and Indie are truly amazing together and you can see how much she has come into her own since book 1. But the icing on the cake for me was my psycho Johnny and getting to see Alaska from Slay All the Way and she was matching his crazy energy without skipping a beat.
So so much was happening and Nova as always gets us to question our sanity and leaves our jaws dropped at the end with that epilogue. But ultimately I’m giddy with that to be continued messaging.

‼️10/10 would read again. I love this series. So do you dare step into the darkness and join us for the final chapter filled with cirque, blood soaked rituals, and never ending lust.

holy shit what the hell did I just read Mostly that’s how a Nova Kane book leaves me after finishing it Seriously these circus people just keeps on getting more unhinged as the books goes on in the series Bjorn and Giselle were so unhinged Giselle was this crazy doll cause the way she was just giggling and slaughtering people Bjorn was the one who made it more interesting with the Norse mythology Daddy Johnny Yass!!! I love a book with that man seriously my crazy unhinged psycho wtf happened to Alaska? Like she was not the same woman I read about it in Slay all the way Her character changed very drastically but I’m not complaining cause it makes her one of the members of the unhinged group
Still Lux and Indie are my fav Idk I just like them a lot the pregnancy came out of nowhere didn’t even see that coming Raiden was hot can’t wait to see how the Cirque de desir is going to be in his hands!!
They worshipped the gods alright! Barefoot, and the sweet smell of the tent! This book was a bit different from the others but the repeating of words and phrases themselves did not change! I swear I read someone fainted, someone fell to their knees and sobbed, gods, worship, altar, sacrifice, say it, and giggles every chapter, and every other page. There were two scenes on different chapters that were similar with the same sayings. Like huh? There were times where I was confused with what I read. There was a lot happening at once but not enough information. But I had a feeling how the book was going to end and I was right!
Nova’s twisted mind has me in a chokehold that I never want to get out of.
Cirque Du Désir is wild, depraved, twisted and delicious. Each book in this series is crazier than the last and it’s EVERYTHING.
Giselle is a crazy little thing and I’m actually obsessed with her 😮💨 and Bjorn? I would let that man drag an axe through my chest and promptly apologize to him for it, my lord. 🧎🏻♀️
The ending? Excellent. Beautiful. Perfect. That bonus chapter? COME ONNNN😩
Is this the end of Cirque Du Désir? Guess you’ll have to read to find out 😉

This is a pitch black horror romance and has very dark themes… just the way I like it. But may not be for everyone. Check your trigger warnings before reading.
This is a quick and fast paced hellish rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and I loved every minute of it! On the edge of your seat suspenses and mind blowing dark moments.
This is everything your dark little heart could possibly ask for. Beautifully twisted and delicious.
I love the character dynamics and development throughout this narrative… loved Björn & Giselle!
A must read for all pitch black horror romance lovers.
Quotes:
“Tonight, we honor the old ways. We give Odin our blade. We give Hel our fear. We give Vanir our flesh.”
“Tonight.. We offer flesh for favor. Bone for blessing. Blood for balance.”
“The bloodier he gets, the wetter I get. That's just math, baby.”
“Ma Petite mort. my little death. She is both the saluation and my sin.”
Oh, the dark, delicious, depravity. ☠️ Oh, the disturbing debauchery. ☠️
If you thought Maison de Fous was deranged, then you are not ready for the depraved macabre chaos that is Ma Petite Mort.
Giselle, Bjorn, Indie, Lux and Johnny are back. For one night only. A night full of all your darkest, depraved, and kinkiest desires. A night full of chaos, carnage & and contentment.
🖤 Dark Twist On Axe Throwing 🖤 Touch Him & Die 🖤 Sacrilege & Seduction 🖤 Bloody & Axe play 🖤 Twisted Side-Shows 🖤 Dual POV (Bjorn & Giselle)
Ma Petite Mort is a pitch black erotic horror. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in. This book is not for the faint-hearted or those new to the genre.
Giselle had Bjorn on his knees 🤭 So bittersweet for Cirque de Desir to come to an end but what an ending. I completely devoured the Vikings and Bjorns filthy mouth. 😮💨 HOT.
This book was pure chaos, debauchery, and everything else twisted you can think of. this is very much erotic horror borderline splatter punk. mixed with Norse mythology. this is not for everybody this is if you are off your rocker and you love it dark, dirty, and depraved. the ending blew me away I was not expecting the ending as well as a peek into the future. I was entertained.
This series is a dark romance so read with caution!
This by far may be the darkest one yet. Now I say that and nothing triggered me so maybe there’s something wrong with me 🤷🏻♀️
We get to see what comes of the circ on this bloody night, where they worship and feed the Gods. Thru pleasure and exticy. What will happen to those who dare to enter?
Holy freaking crap what an amazing story!!! I really enjoy the chaos that is Cirque Du Désir and this one was perfect!! I loved seeing Giselle and Bjorn’s prospectives and seeing how they setup their night it’s was so fun seeing what they came up with and seeing all our other favorite characters was hot. As usually this book was sexy, spicy and such an unhinged great time!! I loved the twist at the end and cannot wait to see where it goes!!!
I enjoyed the first two books in this series and I was eager to read this, but this unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. I didn't really like Bjorn or Giselle if I'm honest, and this book centres around these two. Though shorter than the previous two books, I found this to be quite repetitive and I grew quite bored with it. The ending and the look to the future for the characters was a nice touch though, so I'm glad I stuck with it for that scene but otherwise this just wasn't really it for me.
Thank you Nova for the digital arc. This review is entirely my own. This novella is a pitch black erotic horror. Please be responsible and check content warnings before reading!
Please check your trigger and content warnings before reading Be warned this one is DARK! the author gives you a warning this is the darkest in the series
Giselle and Bjorn are something completely different! The way they are with each other and how they watch each other when they perform made me hot 🥵 🔥 the connection they had when one another is in the room was everything. The way she worshipped him , it was like she knew exactly what he needed.
Bjorn was a very unique MMC he had this viking way to him and I loved everything about it. The way he tortureD the people that were looking to offer themselves was dark and twisted. The connection that they had was something different, they fit perfectly with each other.
I loved seeing all the other couples along side Giselle and Bjorn because I loved everyone that we have seen from the previous books in the series. I loved seeing how everyone was practicing in the darkness that was going on.
ᖇEᐯIEᗯ: I literally never want this series to stop. 😭 Book 3 in the Cirque Du Désir series is giving pitch black erotic horror vibes. Think sex circus with all the offerings to the old Norse gods to celebrate Disting, an ancient Viking holiday that marks the end of winter through Bjorn and Giselle's POV. Full of banter, spice, and a ton of blood. 😈
(Reading this made me wish that I had read Slay All The Way to get a glimpse into who Alaska was beforehand, just a heads up. Don't drip the ball like me. Not required, but why wouldn't you?!)
Giselle is an unhinged, theatrical lunatic and I was living for her antics! Bjorn just wanted his night to honor the Norse gods, and boy, did he deliver! You'll see everything in this one! Branded runes, blood eagle, Brúnhildr, and sabotage... check your trigger warnings! ⚠️
I was stoked to see all the old gang back in action! Lux and Indie, who has really come into her own, and I love seeing it! Our favorite psycho, Johnny, is up to no good as always! Providing us with quotes like this: “Gₒₒₒₒₒₒd ₗᵢₜₜₗₑ ₛₗᵤₜ,”ʰᵉ ˢⁱⁿᵍˢ, ᵉʸᵉˢ ʷⁱˡᵈ. “ₜₑₗₗ Dₐddy ⱼₒₕₙₙy wₕₐₜ ₐ dₑₚᵣₐᵥₑd ₗᵢₜₜₗₑ dₒₗₗ yₒᵤ ₐᵣₑ.”
I love how Nova really pushes the limit with this series and doesn't shy away from all the little taboo details of what we see going on inside the tents of Cirque Du Désir.
What a sweet ending for our favorite twisted found family! Can you give me more, please?! I see how you left that open at the end.... 👀
This is the third book in the Cirque Du Désir series. We meet Bjorn & Giselle, they're both unhinged, wild and crazy in their individual ways, quite theatrical, which I loved! Giselle is a bad-ass and crazy, I love her as the ringmaster. Bjorne is is hawt honestly, I'm so happy he got his novella because I'm already obsessed with him! There are flashbacks that share info, background and more understanding. Lux and Indie - from the first book - are awesome and to see how far they've come! Seeing familiar characters from past books was amazing! I still love me some Johnny - and Alaska from "Slay it all the Way" - he's such a psychotic and unhinged - as is everyone else, but he's my fave, I must say. Quote a lot is happening in such a short story, the ending is sweet and emotional.
It's hella spicy, dark and wild, filled with delicious debauchery and a well written plot and Nordic influence. It was a pretty short read for me so it didn't take me long, in fact, I was hooked from the beginning. The imagery is so vivid with the world building, I loved every moment of it! Turned out to be even better than what I thought it would be. Each book is darker, crazier and depraved than the next and I'm obsessed with this ride! The bonus chapter is the cherry on the cake and the twist at the end? OH MY LORDT. I can't wait to see where this goes now...
🪓🎪My little death. She is both the salvation and my sin🩸☠️
"Blood. Sweat. Fear. Ahhh, my three favorite perfumes."
"He catches me like I'm sacred. Like I'm sin. Like I'm both at the same time."
"The bloodier he gets, the wetter I get. That's just math, baby."
"Flesh for favor. Bone for blessing. Blood for power. I offer it all."
"Ma petite mort. My little death. She is both the salvation and my sin."
"Yours. Always yours. My god. My monster. My madness."
"He's six-foot-f***-me, carved out of violence and dripped in religion. A berserker with a battle axe and bedroom eyes."
"Petite. Powerful. Covered in runes and war paint. A goddess with a taste for pain. My f****** goddess."
"You looked like a goddess carved from choas. My chaos. Mine to watch, and mine to f****** claim."
This was a fantastic story to end this trilogy. This was, of course, the pitch black horror erotica that we know. The kink and spice was wowza 😳🤣🤣. I liked that we finally got to see Bjorn and Giselle's story and their POVs. I loved the viking and religious undertones in this book. It was done so well and set the entire tone for this book.
This story follows Bjorn and Giselle. It's their turn to host the carnival with their sacrifices to the gods. Of course Indie, Lux, Johnny, and Alaska are there participating. This was a wild and bloody ride. Depraved and unhinged as ever. Some spots left me speechless 🤣☠️. This group definitely knows how to bond together.
Bjorn was a very interesting character. He was calm, stoic, and deadly. I loved everything about him. Giselle was an unhinged, bloodthirsty maniac. They were opposites yet so perfect for each other. I loved how devoted they were to each other. Seeing Alaska in this element had me shocked. Boy has she changed and evolved 🤣🤣. I wasn't expecting that. I loved the mysterious guy Raine who watched them all and the ending epilogue. I now need his story. Seeing this family stay together and set on a new journey was everything. Seeing them all set up to support Lux made my dark heart happy 🖤. Such a fantastic series. I can't wait for more from this author. 🎪🤡🎭🩸☠️🔪🪓🖤
Trigger Warning: Please check your trigger warnings before diving into this book. Your mental health matters, and “Ma Petite Mort” does not hold back.
Nova Kane has once again outdone herself with Ma Petite Mort, the breathtaking third installment of the Cirque Du Désir series! I’ve been counting down the days to read this book ever since finishing book two, and let me tell you—it was absolutely worth the wait.
I was so completely hooked that I finished it in just one hour—I physically couldn’t look away. Every page was electric, every moment gripping.
One of the things I immediately adored was the inclusion of a playlist, and wow—what a perfect fit! Every song captured the raw emotions and thrilling tension of the story, enhancing the entire reading experience. It felt like the music and the words were dancing together in perfect harmony.
Seeing Bjorn and Giselle come back and getting to experience so much more of them was everything I could have asked for. They are absolutely wild, but their chaotic energy and made every scene between them unforgettable. I loved their dynamic even more this time around—they are truly one of a kind.
And can we talk about Indie?! Watching her blossom from the first book to now was one of the most satisfying parts of the series so far. Her growth felt so natural, and her bond with daddy Lux continues to hold a special place in my heart. Those two are pure magic together and will always be my favorites.
I also have to say, seeing Alaska from Slay All the Way pop up was such a delightful surprise! Making everything feel so interconnected and alive.
And that bonus chapter? Absolutely gripping. I was on the edge of my seat, and now I’m even more desperate to see where this incredible journey goes next.
Ma Petite Mort is dark, delicious, and dazzling in every way. Nova Kane continues to raise the bar with her rich storytelling, unforgettable characters, and emotional depth. If you’ve been following the Cirque Du Désir series, you need this book in your life—just don’t forget to breathe.
