A "harmless" picture taken on a camera phone stirs up more trouble than Renae Watson and her cousin Lataya Farroll ever imagined. Immediately Renae gets help from her boyfriend's legal connections, but it's only days before Lataya and one of her lovers end up in a bigger mess--a bloody mess involving the death of a beloved young girl that starts a nasty witch hunt on the internet. The people want justice. A likely suspect is captured. And fingers start pointing directly at Renae and Lataya. Soon, the girls find out how strong their bond really is, and whether or not the men in their lives are for them ... or against them.

Jordan Belcher did that!!!!! I can't even imagine the amount of research that went into putting this well written novel together! "Selfie" is a for sure page turner that's full of unexpected twists and turns that follow through to a jaw dropping ending! Just when you think you've pieced everything together, you're hit with the throw off! I absolutely loved how the ending read like an action packed thriller revisiting the turns of events that delivers you full circle.
SCREAMING!!!! WOWwwwww! SPECTACULAR, BRAVO & ENCORE!!! Can't wait to read the next installment!
Ebony EyeCU Reading & Social Network APPROVED & RECOMMENDED!
Love books by Jordan Belcher! This was a great read, I finished this in about four days, that was with non-stop reading, taking care of two children, & getting work done! It is a real page turner! & can you say plot twist!? I know it took a ton of research to create this amazing book! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I felt the ending was incomplete? I have questions that I'd love to be answered! However, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys urban fiction!
Can I say that I didn't think of what was going on til the end when it was revealed? LOL. I was like hmmm...that's weird or strange and just kept it going.
Well I am a social work major and I was digging it afterwards...good job. Lataya and Renae are sick..but that Bret and Dante are even sicker for condoning that.
Wow! The plotting twist in this story was a huge surprise! I enjoyed every bit of this book. I finished it within three days because I was so engulfed in finding out what happens next. I gave it only four stars though because I felt like the ending was wrapped up quickly and simple as possible, it left several questions unanswered.
I liked this book. I feel like I am always surprised by the twist and turns in Belcher's writing. This time I liked reading about a topic not commonly discussed in the African American Community. This book and the others in the Status series makes me think about what I post. It also reminds me not to take what others post to heart because a lot of people just post for attention or other reasons like causing drama.
This book blow my socks off! I have never been into a book so much that I start talking out loud lol. That's just how good it was. I was so surprised at the ending. I couldn't believe what I was reading at the end! The whole time I thought I was reading about two cousins, when really it was only one... Jordan Belcher Well Done!!
The first series of the books I thought were hilarious. Those girls were off the chain. Now reading part 4 make me wonna go back and see what I didn't pay attention to. I think I will. I think lataya and Renéa were 2 different people. What a twist. Good job
Jordan Belcher has done it again!!! Selfish is an psychology thriller at its best. Twist and turns like always up to the very end. This book is a jaw dropping as well as keeping you off the edge of your seat. Well written and bravo to the story line.
Not at all what I thought. Having read Status, I assumed this would be about people being foolish on social media. I was shocked to say the least. This was a great book. I wouldn't mind a sequel, I have to know who "wins"
