In my experience, this author's books are hit or miss for me. Unfortunately, this one was a miss. I listened to the Audible version of this book and the narration was "okay", but nothing special. The main problem that I had with this story, however, was that I couldn't stand the hero.

Lola, the heroine, has recently arrived in London. She is a foreign exchange student from Florida, working on her graduate degree. Along with her friend, she is looking to cut loose and have some fun on her trip.

The girls head out to an art exhibit, where they meet Sam and Xavier. Lola is instantly attracted to the enigmatic Xavier. He is aloof, but incredibly handsome. Although Lola ends up having to leave Xavier behind at the art exhibit that night, fate has their paths crossing again.

Within a short period of time, Lola jumps into Xavier's bed. After their one night stand, Lola begins her class, only to find that Xavier is her instructor. Oops!

As expected, there is a lot of sexual tension. Xavier gets jealous. Lola continues to tempt him, etc. The storyline was mostly predictable and one that we've all read before.

Ultimately, Xavier manipulates events so that Lola has to pretend to be his girlfriend. Apparently, he wants to make sure that his parents don't continue trying to hitch him to his ex-fiancé. Did I forget to mention that he's of royal blood? Yep. He is. So, who he marries isn't a person of his choosing and Lola just walked into a made-for-tabloids scandal.

While I liked Lola well-enough, I couldn't stand Xavier. Royal or not, the guy was a pretentious jackass! Sometimes, in fact most of the time, I love a hero that is kind of an ass that eventually wins you over.

The problem with Xavier is that he never won me over. He was an ass at the beginning of this book and he was an even bigger ass at the end of this book. He never redeemed himself in any way, shape or form.

Unfortunately, the hero has to have some redeeming qualities or I won't get into the story at all. That is what happened with this book. I just didn't like the hero enough to care about what happened or where the next book will go.

While Lola's character was more likable, she can't carry the whole story. I am thankful that Lola spent a fair amount of time telling Xavier what a narcissistic douchebag he was. However, laughing at her witty antics wasn't enough to keep me interested in this story.

Overall, I give this story 2 1/2 stars, rounded up. It was well-written, but just didn't appeal to me as a whole. Lola was a good character, but not strong enough to offset my extreme dislike of the hero. It was very quick also. I've read worse, but I've also read much better. This was kind of a "meh" book for me.

This was one of those books that made me ask myself, "WTH did I just read and WHY the He** did I just read it?"

Definitely not a re-read :(

Anna was a self-centered brat. She was reckless and immature. However, a few lines from the heroine made Lola seem self-centered as well.

Xavier the douche was awful. I would have decked the asshat in the nose almost immediately after he opened his mouth for the first time.

NOTE: Alpha males don't have to be douches to be alpha. Just sayin'

Not as good as I was expecting, and the hero was a total douchecanoe, but still somewhat entertaining, somewhat. Enough that I'd read the second and final book 'Taming My Prince Charming' when it releases. This was quite short too, description says over 265 pages...no way, has to be less.
Lola, our heroine, and her bestie, Anna, head to London, England for a study abroad in their final year of college. They're from Florida so this is a huge change. Lola is studying Art history and while attending a meet and greet for her studies, she bumps into a sexy and tantalizing man named Xavier. Sparks fly and these two barely exchange words before Lola and her friend leave the scene.

Eventually that night, Lola once again bumps into mysterious Xavier. He gets the wrong idea about her and insults her character--a tactic he often uses throughout this book. Stuff happens and Lola agrees to a date with him and they end their time together with a passionate night. Problem is, Xavier is a prince of a fictitious country named Romerius. He also happens to be teaching the art history class Lola is taking *gasp!* all the while he is trying to stay away from her but can't. His defense mechanism? Insult the shit out of her. Does it work? Hell no. The stuff Xavier says to Lola floored me. He was such an asshole, truly bipolar at times, I kid you not. One minute he's dying to see her and spend another night with her, the next he's calling her a gold digger and a skank and reminding her he's not interested. I think I suffered whiplash from his constant back and forth. Meanwhile this whole time, probably the majority of the book, Lola doesn't even know he's a prince. Or why he's being such a dick.

Finally Xavier reaches the conclusion that to rid himself and his system of Lola, he must do something drastic. I couldn't get over how much he manipulated her. I felt bad for Lola at times but also reminded myself she LETS him do these things to her. She's attracted to him in a very intense way, and him to her, but the guy has serious issues! You sense he is trying to run away from his feelings, but wow, is he an ass. Other times he was super sweet and you saw the potential between them, but he always went and ruined that too.

This does end on a mild cliffy. Nothing worth jumping a bridge over, but keeps you invested in their story nonetheless, even if it is a little far fetched and crazy. I'm hopeful that this crazy man will be brought down to his knees in the most humblest of ways, we all know karma is one sweet bitch! Anyways, this was a decent read with some steam and equally steam-inducing, angry moments, so just pushing 3 stars.

*something of note: Anna ( Lola's BFF ) is described differently in separate parts of this book. She's blonde in the beginning, then raven haired in the middle. I've never come across such an incongruent description. There were typos as well, so having known this book's release kept getting bumped, you'd think editing would be watertight*

Slut shaming, double standards, cliches, bad writing.

This author had one good book - the rest are a disgrace.

"I’m Xavier.”
“Xavier?” I looked at him in surprise. It wasn’t a name I was familiar with. <Really?
“It means I last all night.” He paused, and my heart stopped beating as we stared at each other in silence.
“In what language?” I whispered, unable to stop myself from playing his game.
“In the language of love.”

Just ew. Who says that? He wasn't even trying to be smooth.

"And what sort of name was Lola? Lola wasn’t a name for a nice girl. Lola was the name of a nymph. Lola was the name of someone who wanted to make love all night with reckless abandon.”

Really? Lola sounds like the most innocent nice girl name ever...

I think the H is delusional. Their accounts are like night and day 'cause obviously this guy is imagining SHIT like some creepy harasser. Plus he insults the f*ck outta her by calling her a prostitute, repetitively insults her while trying to get into her pants, confused when she refuses and seems to see things that haven't actually happened.

FUCKING STUPID. I CAN'T TAKE HIS WEIRD SPEECHES AND DIALOGUE, their INSaNE STUPID BEHAVIOUR and THEIR GENERIC KNOWLEDGE BECAUSE FYI AUTHOR PEOPLE KNOW STUFF ABOUT HISTORY. This girl is not smart and her knowledge wasn't specialised in any way.

Wow, this was definitely not easy to get through. I didn't connect with or like a single character except Sebastian. Anna reminded me of a 16 year old kid. Xavier made no sense calling Lola a prostitute and whore. Plus his "plan" to get her out of his system made zero sense. I think that was my main issue. I never could follow any characters' motivation because they changed their minds so quickly I got whiplash. They all seemed incredibly immature and unrealistic. It sucks because I actually like the story. The execution just didn't work for me at all.

The title was misleading, though I must admit that I may tend to stereotype but this book was not what I was expecting. It was a short read, but it almost took me a day to finish the whole thing because I had to stop myself at certain points from reading and do something else for a while to try and forget what I just read. I would slap myself in the forehead and tell myself, "I did not just read that!" The title should've been finding my douchebag prince or something. No matter how hot a guy is, you should not be with him if he calls you a ho... REPEATEDLY!

Meh. This was not my cup of tea, though it sounded like it had me written all over it! Hot prince? Check! Hot forbidden student/professor relationship? Check! But... Ugh. It hurt me. I couldn't stand Anna, Lola's best friend. Hell I really couldn't connect with Lola either. But worst of all, I did not like Xavier one bit. He was an asshole, and not the hot kind... The douchey kind. And Lola just kept "I'm falling for him even though he's an asshole". *shudders*

This is the second time I've been disappointed with a J.S. Cooper book, and I don't like it one bit.
description

The plot lacked in depth, and I found it overly-cliche. Honestly, I absolutely have no problems with cliche plots, but this book was just too much for me to handle. Just from the very first chapter, I already saw bad omens that this will not be a very good read for me. I placed this in my books-to-read calendar, and was very disappointed to have been waiting for something I wouldn't even enjoy reading.

The lead characters....Oh, where do I even start? I found Lola totally annoying and I just wanted to slap some sense to her. Her dialogues were so over the place, and was not at all appealing for me. She'd be like, "Oh, he's a total jerk who calls me a whore, but what the hell, he's handsome." I mean...seriously?? Then Xavier, who's a prince and the supposedly love interest of Lola, was a complete douchebag. There was too much "douchebaggery" and I just cringed a whole lot because of it. He'd go like, "Oh, I really like Lola and she really turns me on, but at the same time, I'd gotta go call her a "whore", "prostitute", "gold digger", etc." AND COME ON! HE'S A PRINCE AND HE'S NOT ACTING LIKE ONE. HE WAS SUCH A FREAKING TOOL. And to add that he was also a professor...what?? I don't see the point (Well, duh, to add conflict)BUT....NO. Plus, when Lola found out Xavier was a prince, and she was just like whatever. She totally underreacted. I mean, maybe she doesn't care about his title, but come on, let's be realistic here. If I found out that the guy I'm dating is a prince, I'd go bazooka (Just saying).
description

The other characters, they were just "meh". I didn't even find the lead characters appealing, much less the secondary ones.

I also felt that they only connected through sexual activities, and I don't get how they call it "making love" when they aren't even really in love--well, maybe they really secretly were deep inside, but I just didn't see it.

That ending was just messy, rushed, and totally forced. Also, I realized that this was the first installment to a duology, so that's why the ending sort of went like that. But, again...NAH.

I did appreciate one factor of this book, and it was the incorporation of art, but yeah, that's about it. ANDDD I did finish it, so that's a plus.

I'm just truly disappointed with this one. Although I'm not totally giving up with J.S. Cooper because I have a few books in my to-reads, but this one was just not for me.

I am going to be very honest here...

This book is so god damn awful, I am so glad I got this free on kindle.

The ''love interest'' Xavier is the biggest asshole I have ever read about. And I'm not done there! He was straight up warning bells at the end of chapter 1! He is selfish, disgusting, degrading... and talks like some serial stalker pedophile with heavy emotional problems. His described personality lead me to picture him as sickly and creepy looking, making me cringe whenever Lola called him ''sex god, ''so hot'' etc.

Then there is Lola. She is SO naive. I can't even. She believes everything Xavier feeds her (because he makes her wet with one look and is SO attractive) and ignores the MANY warning bells when with him. She also has no backbone at all. She bends over at his every wish. LITERALLY. She is so naive she even goes to rethinking all the past asshat comments he said after a small ''nice'' gesture or compliment. I wanted to slap her into reality so many god damn times it hurt.

I'm not going to bother with Anna because she is just a Lola duplicate, really, 'nough said there.

Now set aside the characters, the writing. The writing was so repeated I wondered if it was just copied and pasted sometimes. Scenes felt repeated, also. The sex was so lame, not even that could save me. It always when like this; kiss, lose one self completely, take clothes off, sucking of the chest, fingering, and then finally ended with the male counterpart pounding into the female.
Add in some backside pow pow,a very mild handjob, small edits and otherwise it's all really repetitive. And she calls him a sex god...

This all happened under 5 mintues. It literally seemed like 5 minutes. 5 FUCKING MINUTES and it's considered a night of passion?! No! Xavier even calls it love-making. God damnit, NO!

There is everything wrong in this book and what I've mentioned barely covers it.

If you are going to read this, get the free kindle version, read it, despise it (if otherwise I would honestly worry for your mentality) and never go near the abomination again. The plot, characters, everything are just too bad to be considered the smallest of good.

The fact that this is even considered a romance is what bothers me the most.

I just, I just can't.

1 star is the best rating this book will ever get from me.

Well, I didn't like this one, I guess I had high expectations from this book ...
Characters were not likeable ... they were little annoying ...
The main guy was a truly asshole, and the girl was weak, he called her a prostitute and a gold digger, he treated her like shit, but still she was falling for him ...
This one just wasn't my cup of tea ...

This is a really short text, but it took me forever to finish it. For some weirdly unknown, strange reason, I was extremely excited about this book. I've never anything by this author before, but the synopsis reeled me right in. This is a prime example of

I was sadly mistaken about my first impression, and I'm seriously hoping I learn a lesson from this.

As for the MCs? Just a few short and sweet words: CHARACTER GROWTH/DEVELOPMENT. ACTIONS REQUIRE JUSTIFICATION. JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK IT'S RIGHT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S RIGHT. FUCKING HELL.

Xavier is our male protagonist here, and he has to be, hands down, one of my least favorite protagonists, if not THE least. I seriously hated this guy. He was the epitome of an asshole to me. Just because you're an actual prince doesn't mean you can get away with calling your one-night-stand/current infatuation a prostitute/whore and insinuating any and all derogatory terms. Did you learn no fucking etiquette/manner/common sense in the 28 years you've been in this world? If that's what the representative of a country in an international level acts like, I seriously worry about the state/well-being of that country. And oh ya, she talks to another guy, and that makes her a slut? She goes after her friend because she is concerned about her, so she's a prostitute because the same friend she goes after, runs after your fucking guard and he can't keep his hands to himself?

And that brings me to my next point: WHAT IN THE FUCKING WORLD IS UP WITH HER SUPPOSED BEST FRIEND? You know that cheesy saying, "it's better to have no friends than having asshole friends"? (I tweaked it to suit my needs, deal with it.) Ya, that's the case here. And now would I call her a skank. Running after every single guy she lays her eyes on - yes, that's literally what happens. What an insecure little skank. She got on my very last nerve before the first chapter even ended.

I have a lot more points I can rant about, but I'll stop here for now. I may just have been in a pissy mood, and way too judgmental when I read this, but come on! If you liked it and read this rant anyway, I'm sorry for wasting your time! School is over for me, and the first of my last exams begin tomorrow, so I'm extremely tired and worried and just all-around not in the mood to deal with this shit. I was analyzing every little thing (practice for exams - NOT :p), and it pissed me the fuck off, to the fucking max.

The End.

PS: the paper called; it wants its dimensions back. (That was a very lame attempt at making a dig at the characters. They're flatter than a cardboard. No joke, but make up your mind)

Well, i might be in the minority here.. I didn't like the characters at all.. The main characters are weak and the Hero is so arrogant that is kinda rude so, I'm sorry but this book was a BIG NO for me and I actually really love this author.!

Ps. I'm still gonna finish this series with the sole purpose to see if the Hero redeems himself.!

Hmm where to start, girl meets guy “accidentally”, he’s rude to her yet she still seems interested. She leaves with her friend and another guy, he follows accuses her of being a prostitute. She ends up spending the next day with him and then finds out he’s her professor! Confusing to say the least. I HATED how rude Xavier was to Lola. Sorry but if a guy constantly said I was a prostitute or easy I wouldn’t want anything to do with him. I did like the premise behind the story but he was just so mean! It’s like he was battling with himself about falling for her so to retaliate he treated her badly. I don’t think I will read the sequels to this.

The so called hero is a manipulative, self-centered, arrogant asshole who treats the heroine horribly and she just takes it because he is soooo handsome.

The girl herself is pretty much an idiot. Falls for the guy at once (though he was an arrogant asshole from the beginning)they have a one-night stand, with unprotected sex(!) after which he treats her horribly, insults her in class and she still ends up working as his assistant going with him wherever he wants her to, his house, into museums in her free time, abroad, etc.,while he either sexually harrasses her or makes her feel stupid, but she just can't resist because he is sooo hot. It is mentioned afterwards that she took the assistant job only because she needs the money but we don't see her trying to find anything else, and London is a big city where presumably there are some other jobs as well.

Whenever she tries to be sensible and distance herself a bit the guy asks if she's afraid and she jumps right away to do exactly what he wants just to show that she's not afraid. She basically always does exactly as the guy says. At first whines a bit, says no but does it anyway.

Both her and her annoying friend Anna get so drunk that they practically don't know what they are doing. I know girls like to have fun but they should also take care of themselves. Ending up in hotel rooms with unknown or barely known strangers in a foreign country, having unprotected sex, etc. are not really safe behaviour. Have they heard of HIV for example?

I normally will read reviews before I purchase a book to read.
This is the first book that I thought "it sounds great, let's give it a
try, I might like it even though a few others didn't ."
Yeah, well I DNF. I couldn't force myself to finish it. I really tried, I took a break and
then came back to it. I've never not finished a book I started. EVER!
This was horrible! The Main Character was such a push over, I was literally disgusted
with her the WHOLE time, she is pathetic. Oh he is so hot so I'll let him treat me like the dog poop
on the bottom of his shoe is better than me. He thinks I'm a whore, and gold digger, but
have y'all seen his face?! ugh! Please! Weakest most disliked main character I've ever read
about.

And Xavier, I hated him, a lot. No matter how attractive he was, I think would have
had to cut him! He was such an asshole, but in his defense she let me treat her like crap.
I wanted to beat them both with my book! Ugh STUPID STUPID STUPID!

The "best friend" if you guessed that I also hated her, you're very correct.
She is definitely not someone I would ever consider my bestie, hell
I wouldn't wish her as the bestie of my worst enemy. She was self centered
and in a way she kind of act like Xavier to the MC.

Which again just verifies what a pussy push over the MC was!
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone honestly. I know I'm being so harsh, but
this book did nothing, but make me angry!

Not my cup tea. Xavier is a huge jerk & I didn't like him at all. He treated Lola like crap & she pretty much took it. "Oh he is so horrible to me, but I like him so much." Ugh no just no. When I saw this I thought that this could be one of those funny, feel-good chic-lit books that you just falls in love with. So of course, I wanted to read it right away. It started okay, girl and her best friend in London, art exhibits, enter hot guy, London AND Paris... I mean, it had potential! But wow, then it just got weird... and weirder still..But somehow I read it all, just hoping it would somehow magically get un-weired... Yeah, it didn't. And also it ends in mid-story. So to know how the story really ends, you have to wait for the second book. Not gonna do that!

I was so damn excited to read this novel, then I peeked and saw the ending! and damn! It was a cliffie!!!

It took me a week before I had the urge to read this, not caring that it's a cliff.

I skipped a few - kind of boring - conversations, usually between the heroine and her friend.

He's such an asshole!! Which I do like. He's possessive, and I like that, but gosh, I do want to slap him sometimes.

Towards the end, I was starting to get excited about the next book!!

The story's pretty short, thank god this is a duet!!

I don't like him

Okay so read this at your own expense. Spoilers!! One I don't like Xavier (might have spelled that wrong) like at all. Has he always been that much of an asshole? Maybe he did get burn by what's her face but still does he have to be so crass. And the assumptions my gods if I hear whore, prostitute, ho or anything like that one more time I will lose my ish. I can't he's a bastard no matter how hot he is. No matter how sweet he is sometimes most of the time he's a dick and I can't.

My first book by J.S Cooper. Again it happened where I loved the book but it was short. I wanted more. I was happy that the second book was already out.

OMG Xavier was hot, possessive, arrogant but he meets his equal who gave back with equal fire. Lola. This book was little more special because it had prof/student romance also in between.

I am excited where this book goes and what will happen next with what Xavier has planned.

Ugh. One of the worst books I've ever read. Dialogue was poorly written and difficult to follow. Plot was m.i.a. What little plot structure there was -- so full of holes and ridiculously improbable situations! I only finished it because, sadly, I find it difficult to put down a book without finishing it. Definitely not worth the hour it took to read.

For Lola to not be looking for Prince Charming, he seems to have fallen in her lap. He just was not so charming. He was sexy hot, but his behavior was appalling. The fact that she kept going along with it was telling me her self worth levels. I really liked Sebatian. Xavier took some time to acclimate to. Anna was just too much for me.

The foreign accent of the princes and classmate was alluring, but the rest of the audio had issues. There did not feel like enough passion was put in to the work. It just felt blah. But when compared to the other two books of the series this was by far the best narration of the three different narrators. This narrator seemed to have listen to the words and applied accents the correct characters,

3.5 Stars....

After several delayed release dates, the highly anticipated book, Finding My Prince Charming by J. S. Cooper is finally live. Readers were snapping this book up the moment the release went live.

I was one of those readers. J. S. Cooper has become one of my favorite go to authors. I am always recommending her books to friends and fellow readers. Her books are well written, entertaining, with characters that are easy to connect with. The plot and story lines are well thought out and delivered to perfection. The writing always has a smooth flow and before the reader realizes it, they are at the end of the book in record time.

Finding My Prince Charming is not a stand alone book. It ends with a cliffhanger. The sequel, Taming My Prince, will be released at the end of July. Finding My Prince Charming is somewhat short, with only 108 pages.

My overall reaction to Finding My Prince Charming was quite different from previous J. S. Cooper books. There were many things I liked in this book and there were just as many things I did not like about this book. This seems to be the same reaction with many J. S. Cooper fans.

Finding My Prince Charming is a story about a common young woman accidentally meeting a European Prince. At the chance meeting she is unaware of his royalty. She is also unaware that he is her Professor. They have a one night stand that turns ugly once the sun comes up. The humiliation continues when they discover the connections go beyond the one night fling.

Once they realize they are student and professor they try to stifle their attraction to one another. They work very hard at portraying the proper student/ teacher relationship.

Their attraction cannot be denied. When the opportunity arises on a business trip they give into the attraction and all hell breaks loose. The paparazzi catches wind of their relationship and exposes their affair to the world. This could be very destructive to the reputation of the European prince. It forces them into a fake engagement ( for one week only) so that he can show face to his family and his country.

Exposure to this relationship is not an accident. The Prince has manipulated this young woman and the press. He has an agenda. This agenda will give him the uncomplicated affair he wants and redemption with his people. It will get the royal family off his back about carrying on the family lineage.

It is a Royal romance reader’s love. We all love the Cinderella fairytale. We all want the prince to fall hopelessly in love. We all want the happily ever after.

Finding My Prince Charming ended on a cliffhanger. There is a hard road ahead for this couple before they can find their happily ever after.

There were so many things I liked and disliked about the story….
• I liked the overall theme of the story.
• While I found the prince, Xavier, very sexy, he was not charming. I felt like he was a complete ARSE. He was arrogant, self absorbed, cold, and harsh. He treated Lola very badly, even in the intimate moments. I honestly felt he had no respect for her even though throughout the story he was captivated by her openness, her honesty, her innocence, and her intellect.
• Lola was another contradictory character. She was a naïve, young college student. She wasn’t completely innocent . But she was not overly experienced and worldly. She had a good sense of self worth. She had drive and ambition. She was smart. She had quick wit. She was not always a pushover. She stood up to Xavier when he demeaned her after a one night stand. She reacted to him with a snarky attitude. Hoorah for her! At times her contempt was truly felt by the readers. At other times she was a complete pushover. She allowed Xavier to continuously demean her. She overlooked his arrogance even though she clearly hated it. She went against her natural instincts and let herself be verbally insulted. I had a hard time accepting this.
• Anna, Lola’s best friend, was an idiot. She came across as a self serving bimbo. She really didn’t display any qualities that were truly likable. She acted like an immature teenager rather than a young woman attending college. She did not have the BFF qualities that Lola needed. She really wasn’t supportive, overly concerned, or seemingly Lola’s sidekick. She didn’t add a lot to the story.
• I loved Sebastian, Xavier’s younger brother. He was friendly, fun, and had an intriguing personality. I would like to find out more about him.
• The relationship between Xavier and Lola gave me mixed reactions. At times I liked their banter but it seemed to fall short. The build up of sexual tension and chemistry seemed rushed. At times it seemed to be missing in crucial scenes.
• The pacing of this story seemed a bit off. I found myself going back to previous scenes and pages to clarify what I was reading.
• The overall story was good. I definitely want to find out what happens next.

I would recommend Finding My Prince Charming by J. S. Cooper. It is a modern twist of our favorite fairytale. I am sure J. S. Cooper has some surprises up her sleeve with the next book, Taming My Prince.

Awful! Sorry, no college student on a study abroad is this stupid and naive. And really? A student who is an art history major who wants to own a gallery but who has never seen Monet's Water Lilies? Ridiculous. Her friend was even beyond annoyingly irritating and stupid. None of these characters are likeable and the very minor story elements seem nothing but an excuse to move between sex scenes.

You can take a pass one this one.
