Five Little Roommates #1

Their Little House Colter

Rate this book
What happens in Little House, stays in Little House.

Being little and having vanilla roommates suck. I dream of finding a place where I can just be myself and not have to hide in my own place. One night at Chained, the community board offers me exactly Living in a huge house, with like-minded people, and our very own little room.

Yes, please.

They say when something sounds too good to be true, it is. What if it’s a scam? Or worse, what if the owner is a Faux Daddy looking for people to control. What if…what if…what if…
I take the risk, tearing off the phone number and crossing all things that it will be a good fit and two weeks later, I’m moving in, trying not to notice how amazing Dallas’ ass looks in his jeans, how sweet he is, how his smile lights up a room.

He’s little too and there’s no way anything can come of it…is there?

The daddy who catches both of our eyes thinks there is. Daddy knows best, right?

Colter is the first book in the highly anticipated Five Little Roommates series by USA Today bestselling author Della Cain and her bestie Kaytea Kat. Colter is an M/M/M daddy little romance featuring not one but two littles, the daddy who loves them both, a house full of littles with no daddy in sight, bottles, stuffies, onesies, true love, an adorable kitten, the day at Chained that changes everything, chickie nuggies, mischief, and all the fun and sweetness you have come to expect from Della and Kaytea. If you love your daddies sweet, your littles fun, and your HEAs wrapped like a hug, grab Colter today.

Such a cute book! A different play on the Daddy/ Little dynamic, with two Littles who have feelings for either other and the daddy that completes their trio. Colter and Dallas are cute as heck and Ari is the perfect daddy for them both. This book is cuteness overload!

When it comes to Daddies and Littles there are of course rules, there is guidance, there are expectations for behaviour, but there is nothing to stop a pair of Littles meeting and falling for one another or a Daddy to meet first one Little, then the other and discover that he could be falling for both. Those types of rules are very flexible and as long as all parties agree then polyamory for Daddies and Littles works in the same way it does for any other polyamorous groupings.

This Daddy-Little MMM romance is completely adorable. When Colter discovers, from the noticeboard at Chained, the possibility that he could rent a room in a Little house, have roommates who are all Littles, it sounds too good to be true but he takes the chance, after all his lease is almost up in his current place and he likes his roommate well enough but has never felt comfortable being himself. Moving to the Little house changes all that.

Ari is a Daddy. A successful attorney who has recently moved to the city and transferred from Chained's sister club, Collared. He has quickly made friends with a group of the Daddies and their Littles who readers of Della Cain's other series will recognise. But he is not ready, doesn't know if he will ever be ready, to have a Little again after losing his love. He likes to play for a night at the Club but so far that has been all.

Dallas works as a waiter and is one of the five who live in the Little house. He is quite shy, likes to play and colour by himself but when he sets eyes on Colter he is smitten. The problem is he isn't sure if it is allowed. The two soon become very firm friends, sharing cooking, playtime and lots of conversation. It is very clear that they care very much for one another and very quickly they are besties. The night that Ari rescues one of their other housemates from a bully of a Daddy and takes him back to the Little house is the night Dallas answers the door and Colter hides to see what is happening.

That night changes everything for that is the night that Ari realises he wants to get to know both Colter and Dallas better, the night that begins a journey of exploration for them all. The night that catapults them all into an unknown that they are soon going to find they all love.

With evenings out at fun restaurants, plenty of nuggies, Daddy to make sure his Littles drink their milk, glitter, colouring, sparkly light-up trainers and some very steamy big times this story is an absolute delight to read. There are some somber moments but they make the story honest and real. There is no part of it which I felt uncomfortable with or could not believe in. Della Cain brings us real people, characters we feel could be people we know, a lifestyle that certainly appeals to me - I love glitter and colouring as well as having someone look after me. I can't wait to explore the rest of the series.

Colter is a little that has to keep it from his roommate and family. He's meeting with a friend from work at Chained for some little time. There he finds a note on the bulletin board about a room in a house at the same cost as what he's paying now. He takes the number slip and heads for playtime.
Ari had a long day in court. He's now heading to Chained for down time. As he's getting ready to leave he spots a little and takes a liking to him. But rules are in the little room the little needs to make the first move. Anyway Ari is tired so heads home.
Monroe had inherited a house and decided to rent out the rooms to other littles. Dallas is one of the roommates and he's meeting a potential new little roommate.
Colter recalls the handsome daddy he saw and almost went to talk to him. But he wasn't a one night little for a daddy. Then he went to check out the house with the room and liked it. But he also liked the little that attracted him. That wouldn't do because what they wanted in a relationship is similiar but not with another little.
Meanwhile Ari is reviewing a panel for jurors. The case brings back memories...he and his little were together for 8 years when Marty woke up feeling a little off. Six months later he had an urn with his little's ashes...cancer took him. He couldn't see himself with another little until he saw that little in the onesie with a tiger on it.
Dallas is excited about Colter moving in. But he has to remember littles can't be with other littles..they need a daddy for balance. But maybe they can be besties?
At Chained one night Ari heads to the little room and has time with a few of the littles. After one raucous singing he hears a sound and finds a little hiding behind boxes rolled into a ball crying. Then a daddy shows up and starts to bully the little. That is when Ms Lily shows up and has him taken out and banned. Ari asks the little, Scotty, if he can drive him home. when he gets there Dallas answers and one glance at Scotty makes the mistake of thinking Ari caused his friend hurt. Then Scotty lets him no this daddy saved him. Dallas invites him in and takes Scotty upstairs. Meanwhile Colter is watching staying hidden. But Ari sees him and talks with him.
Ari recalls his promise to keep living and to look for love to his Marty before he passed. But he closed up. Now it seems he's drawn to two littles. His Marty always had a sense of humour.
Will the three of them figure out their dynamics?
A lovely story of loss and love.

Get comfortable you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned a house full of littles and their daddies yep get comfortable. Colter is a little that goes to work and does what he is supposed to do but he lives with a roommate but hides who he really is from his roommate, from his family and he is tired of hiding being a little, being comfortable in his own home. So, meeting up with his friends from work at Chained for a little time then he saw a note on the bulletin board about a room in a house living with littles like him, paying the same amount he took the number heads to play for a little but too tired, so he headed home. Monroe inherited a house decided to rent out the rooms to littles, Dallas is a roommate waiting to meet a potential little Colter recalls the cute daddy at Chained almost took a chance on speaking with him but he wasn’t a one night kind of guy but when he goes to see the room it was an instant attraction but we meet all the others littles and daddies in the house willing to protect one another no just has house guest or roommate but as friends at home as well as when they go out in public amount others and they every protect one another they aren’t going to let a meanie daddy bully one of their own so watch out but will they all find the happiness or connections they seek?

This is the first book in the Five Little Roommates series. This is the story of Dallas, Colter and Ari. Dallas is a little who lives in a house with five other littles. They have become a found family. Colter is a little who lives with a co-worker and he has to hide his little side. When there is an opportunity to move into the Little House, Colter takes it and is invited to move in. Ari is a lawyer who has just moved to town. He is a daddy and his previous partner and little passed on from cancer. He has been alone for quite a while. Visiting Chained with his daddy friends, he sees Colter and realizes that he is getting ready to be a daddy again. They meet again when Ari brings a distraught Scottie home from Chained. Dallas is the one who opens the door and begins to take Ari to task for hurting Scottie. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, Ari invites both Colter and Dallas to see him at Chained. This is their story. Once Dallas and Colter realize that they can share the same daddy, the future is looking very happy. The book is written well and is easy to read. This is a cute story with no angst. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was a cute story. Ari, Dallas, and Colter are cute together. I wasn’t sure how they were going to end up together because of how everything started and it did take quite a while through the book before they did, but once they did it moved pretty fast. I do think that they exchanged I love yous a little too soon to be realistic. I think the early I love yous maybe worked for Dallas and Colter, just because they did live in the same house and they got to spend a lot more time together at the start, but I feel like it should have taken just a tad longer with Ari. This is just my opinion, of course. I do love instalove stories so it’s not really that big of a deal to me.

I do kind of wish that with the appearance of Bridger and Hudson and them being friends with Ari, that Dallas and Colter had become friends with Hudson. That’s just me loving when past characters interact though, lol.

Overall, it’s a cute story and I’m glad the three of them got the love and life they wanted in the end. I’m especially happy that Ari was able to find love again after his loss.

Della Cain kicks off the Five Little Roommates series with Their Little House: Colter, a heartwarming and emotionally engaging MMM romance centered on found family, trust, and self-acceptance.

Colter, tired of feeling out of place with vanilla roommates, jumps at the chance to live in a home designed for people like him—a place where he can truly be himself. But uncertainty lingers: Is it too good to be true? Is the house a safe haven, or is there a catch? Moving in, he quickly connects with Dallas, another Little, and finds himself captivated by Daddy, Ari, who seems to know exactly what they need.

Cain crafts a touching story that blends playful and tender moments with deeper themes of vulnerability and belonging. Colter’s worries and self-doubt are portrayed authentically, making his journey toward trust and connection feel earned. The romance between the characters builds naturally, with sweet, steamy, and emotionally fulfilling interactions. Ari’s presence as a caring, attentive Daddy adds to the warmth of the story, making it a standout.

Sweet! Ari, is a Daddy who after suffering a loss, finds a way to cope. But he wants more, he wants a forever boy. Colter, has to hide his little nature from his room mate and is thinking of alternatives. He goes on an interview to live in a house exclusively for littles. Ari and Colter, exchanged looks one night at Chained. Colter, interviews with Monroe the owner of the Little House and exchanges looks with Dallas, a little who intrigues him. On a visti to Chained, Dallas is stressed and reduced to tears by an uncaring Daddy, and Ari rescues him and drives him home. There Ari, Dallas and Colter are in the same space and and wonder. Della, and Kaytea create an amazing opportunity for all three men to find that they didn't know what they were looking for at this new level. Their building relationships while getting to know each other is cute, fun and inspiring. They are each the nicest men. I look forward to hearing about them in future stories. Cute cover art! Nicely done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Their Little House Colter is a sweet, chaotic whirlwind of a book that delivers exactly what it promises: cuddly vibes, fun mischief, and a whole lot of heart. The setup is adorable—Colter, tired of hiding his little side from vanilla roommates, takes a chance on a mysterious offer for a new kind of living situation... and ends up finding a new kind of family.

The dynamic between Colter, Dallas, and their shared Daddy Ari is heartwarming and affectionate, with plenty of tender, loving moments. There’s a strong sense of found family, which fits the little/DD dynamics beautifully.

That said, for such a charming and feel-good story, it tries to cram a lot into a small number of pages. Many scenes feel rushed, with big emotional beats happening too quickly. I found myself wishing there were more time to slow down and really explore the feelings of the protagonists, especially since the relationships, while sweet, would’ve benefited from a deeper emotional buildup.

Colter feels out of place with their vanilla roommate and dreams of finding a space where he can be himself. He discovers an opportunity to live in a large house with like-minded individuals through a community board at Chained. Despite fears of it being a scam or encountering a controlling "Faux Daddy," they take the risk and move in. He is drawn to Dallas, another resident, and wonders if anything can come of their connection. A daddy figure who catches both their eyes believes there is potential for something more.

This was a sweet story based in a house only containing littles. I loved the backgrounds of the three men and that they were respectful of each other and took things slowly although the ending was a little sudden. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

meh

This had potential. The first few chapters gave me hope, but then the hope crashed and burned.

First, there were far too many interactions off the page. Dates and playtime and time with each other…all off page. We got zero relationship building. We have no idea who these characters are outside of their jobs. Nothing that would lead a reader to believe that these characters are in love.

Second, this relationship didn’t begin until 60%ish and the last 40% of the book was rushed. Don’t get me started on the s*x. It was boring. I’d rather an author leave out those types of scenes if they aren’t comfortable writing them.

Lastly, I know this writing is their norm, but I had hope that they could deliver more.

This book isn’t awful. It’s a solid 3 stars, but I’d love for these two to build and expand this world.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story about Colten, and how being a little without a daddy, finds not only a best friend, but also a daddy. Dallas is a little who lives in what is known as the Little House where all residents are Littles. When Colten moves in, they are both attracted to each other but think that they can’t be together because they are both Littles. Ari is a daddy who lost his little a few years ago and now is wanting some companionship. When he sees Colten at Chained one night, he find him attractive but isn’t able to meet with him, when he rescues a little at the club, he takes him home, and that is where he meets Dallas and also discovers that’s where Colten lives. Before they know what they are all dating each other and eventually have a happily ever after as a triad.

Sweet, low angst

Colter doesn't feel comfortable living with his vanilla roommate.
He finds a rooming situation where he can
be a little and enjoy playtime with others like himself.
Dallas is another little living in the house.
Immediately there's a spark between them but others around them are somewhat discouraging of them being involved because they're both littles.
Ari is a Daddy who's been lost since his husband passed.
He meets them both individually and is attracted to them both.
When he realizes they live together, he immediately proposes a relationship between the three of them.
What follows is a very quick insta lust that evolves into something much more.
I really enjoyed seeing them navigate everything a relationship entails and how realistic it was.

This was an intriguing story that was a bit different, in a good way. All three characters were well grounded abd very likeable abd relateable. Colter abd Dallas are both Littles who find that living in a "Little house" suits their personal needs. Ari had lost his Little due to cancer and shut down his desire for own of his own. That interest flared to life again when he saw Colter, and again when he met Dallas. Uh Oh, what to do. To top it off, Colter and Dallas shares an attraction that was uncommon among Littles. Was it possible for something to work amongst the 3 of them?🤨

Adorable sweet story of Colter finding acceptance as a little when he moves into the Little House with his other little roommates. Colter has a special feeling for Dallas, another little in the house. When Ari, a Daddy, comes to the house with a little he rescued, both Colter and Dallas attract his attention, and the three explore dating as a throuple relationship.
Entertaining and engaging as the three embrace a life together as Daddy and his two littles, as well as three “bigs” forming a family.

I do like the given of the two little'a getting their hea with their daddy in this M/M//M read. I did like the concept of the little home, and would have loved to see more off it in here. I do get the novella length has it restrictions. I had an oops moment or two throughout with certain scenes. Getting more of a character development of all three would have been nice. Now I felt there seemed to be time jumps and the story felt a bit untethered to me. Still it is an easy, quick read.

As somebody that is Pro polyamorous I really enjoyed this book. There were some moments that made me quite emotional and I cried. Sometimes from heartbreak other times from the amount of love I could feel pouring off to pages. I love how Colter and Dallas became close friends before they became intimate. I loved how Ari accepted both of them for who they were and always tried to make sure that everybody needs were met. This was truly an amazing read.

I loved this book! An excellent start to a new series that I'm already excited to continue. I loved littles Colter and Dallas, and Daddy Ari. I was most transfixed by the immediate chemistry and connection between Dallas and Colter. Since both were littles, they tried to be the best friends they could since they knew the other would want a Daddy for themselves. They were really cute together. And their attraction to Ari and his to them was perfect. I couldn't get enough. I can't wait until the next one. Scottie definitely needs some love and a proper daddy! 5 stars.

Light. fluffy, sweet story of two littles who have an instant attraction but assume it won't go anywhere since they are two littles. Lo and behold they meet the perfect daddy at Chained, their BDSM club, and the three begin to find their way to a lasting relationship.

Honestly, there's not a lot of meat to this story, other than their meet-cutes and their time together but I keep coming back to this author team's little stories whenever I need to have an escape from my own world and responsibilities. Maybe this is where I become "little" for a few hours of fun reading. :D

Oh, this is such a sweet story with a bit of heat between Colter, Ari, and Dallas.

When Colter moves into the Little House, he meets Dallas. The crush between these two is so adorable, even as they were trying to deny it since they were both littles. When Ari crosses their paths again, it’s suddenly a possibility that the three can have their HEA. Each of them are a part of the whole as they create their life together.

I loved this book! Colter is a little who will find everything he needs in not one but two wonderful men. Ari, a daddy and Dallas, another little. Things start off a bit slow but the chemistry between them all is amazing and it isn’t long until they all get everything they’ve ever wanted, with each other.

nice read

Another thoroughly enjoyable read. Brilliant characters and some familiar faces kept me captivated. I felt that things moved very quickly in the relationship development and would have liked a bit more character depth but doesn't detract from it being a great Daddy/Littlex2 storyline.

I often pick up a Della Cain book when I want something light. Her books are usually full of a whole lot of 'little' and Daddy sweetness. That was definitely the case with Their Little House Colter. I loved Daddy Ari. Dallas and Colter were adorable. There's no drama, no silly jealousy. It was just three men who needed each other.

A nice read.

feels incomplete

The whole book is rushed and has so few details. This could’ve been great. The concept is excellent. However, every interaction is rushed, the spice is contained to a couple paragraphs with minimal details, and we get a glimpse at one date, then they’re all in love. If this book had been written properly with any actual details, it would have gotten four stars.
