This one is for the girls that like to read about love without all the drama and trauma. That love to read about black women being loved proudly and out loud. I enjoyed Thad & Drea’s story so much. Looking forward to the next book in the Richardson sibling series 🥰
From the summary they start having problems after a year of marriage. When are we getting got that?! I skimmed to 49% and nothing has happened! So disappointed. Also the style on which Thad and Drea was written did not work for me. At all. I know this is low stakes romance which is fine but they are boring as fck.
This book was lackluster. Had no real plot or dilemma. Was waiting for the shoe to drop or a villain to produce, but it all seemed to stay on one note. I liked book one better, even though it wasn’t well written, as this book wasn’t either. And I may even read book three as that particular character seems to have more 🤌🏽 umph than all of her characters combined. It’s a big maybe.
This story is really about loving out loud. The relationship was just beautiful from the start. I was waiting for something bad to happen the divorce, the cheating, the weird moment, but this is pure love, pure bliss, and happiness all the way
I tried my damnedest to finish this book, but I just couldn’t. I was sooo bored. I thought Thad and Drea were so cute in the previous book, and they are in this one too, but there wasn’t any umph to their story. “Spend My Life with You” (as far as I read) is just about Thad and Drea’s day-to-day after getting married.
I sometimes love and appreciate a romance book that doesn’t have any drama but this? This doesn’t really have anything. No feels. No smiles. I did chuckle a bit at some of the things said though. I’ll give it that. But it feels like a filler episode of a tv show. You know the ones that don’t bring anything to the plot but the show is contracted for 10 episodes so they gotta do something? That’s what this book feels like.
It’s well-written grammatically, and it was nice getting updates on Nathan and Latrice and learning that Mark did step up to the plate but it wasn’t enough to get me to push through.
Didn't finish. Stopped at 70% after dragging it out over two weeks. There doesn't have to be drama in a book, but there does have to be conflict. This book felt pointless, because I never understood WHY we should care about the couple or the purpose of their story. I didn't remember the other book about this family being like this.
This book was a rollercoaster of adorable, spicy, and heartfelt moments that I can’t get enough of! From the very first page, I was hooked. The chemistry between Drea and Thad? Insane. It’s like the author knew exactly how to get me to squee and fangirl all over the place.
Let’s talk about Thad—he’s the perfect mix of sweet gentleman and business-savvy hottie. The way he treats Drea, especially when he’s giving her these heart-melting words of affirmation, had me swooning like never before. 😍 Period, Thad is the one.
And Drea? She’s got this fire that keeps things exciting. She’s the perfect match for Thad, challenging him in all the right ways and not holding back. Seriously, her teasing and flirting with him (yes, even in the car right after the wedding 🫣) had me laughing and blushing at the same time. 🥰 Their relationship felt so real—no forced drama, just two people who are crazy about each other and building something special.
The vows? Y’all, I was a mess. So cute. 🥳 I was squealing in my seat as I imagined them walking back into the reception to the perfect song. The tension, the emotions, the pure adorableness of it all—chef's kiss!
Now, the spice—oh my. 🫣 If you like things to get a little steamy, this book has you covered. And when I say steamy, I mean spicy. I was laughing, gasping, and clutching my pearls at some of their moments (3 rounds in the car? 😂). It’s clear Drea and Thad know exactly how to heat things up.
What I really appreciated was how the author kept things light and fun without sacrificing the emotional depth. You get the sense that Drea and Thad's connection is real, with them learning and growing together as a couple. I was also living for the family dynamics. Thad’s nephew and his little girlfriend? Adorable. Drea’s family? Hilarious. The mom drama was everything I wanted and more (shark mom, yes, please). 😜
Oh, and the ending? I called it—Drea’s pregnant, y’all! But like, how cute is it that the twins were part of that reveal? The book wrapped up perfectly with these little twists and turns that kept me turning the pages faster and faster.
This book was a total joy ride from start to finish, with some emotional highs, hilarious moments, and just enough spice to keep you hooked. If you’re looking for a cute, steamy romance with some serious heart, Spend My Life with You is exactly what you need.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series—please, no third-act breakups, though! 😅
A lot of people gave this book flack for being dull, but it fulfilled one of my biggest book wishes. I wanted to see the life after happily ever after. In most romances they couple figure out separately that they are in love, and they are scared about what to do. Then there is some sort of drama that either pulls them apart or puts them through it, and only at the end are they together and happy. Sometimes, you get a romantic epilogue, but not always.
In this book, they tell each other and get married so fast your head could spin. Then, the book follows along as they have their first year of marriage.
Let me tell you something, I thought I had read sexually explicit books before, but they did not compare to the ghost pepper hotness of these scenes! Whoa! Monique Fisher does not tip toe.
I loved reading them, figuring out their pet names, dealing with jealousy as others wanted their mates, making food for holidays, spoiling each other, and even having their first big fight. Well, was it a fight? Thad was not mad, but Drea was mad as a hornet.
I loved that they put each other first. Everything else was background noise. It helped them get to know each other on a whole other level. They had a level of emotional intimacy that most people dreamed about.
WITAH‼️…I refuse to subject myself nor insult my intelligence & sanity with this foolishness‼️ Honestly, reading “Spend My Life with You (Richardson Sibling Thrilogy - Book 2)”, which had no plot or character development was torture😴 😬🥴‼️Unlike, “Hot For Teachers (Richardson Sibling Thrilogy - Book1)”, which had its’ own set of issues. Nevertheless, at least it had a decent storyline, entertaining & was a good read. Conversely, “Spend My Life with You…” this was twenty one chapters of verbose hyperbolic graphic copulation montages between Drea & Thad. Ummm, I don’t care‼️Their intimate proclivities weren’t germaine to the story…well, if there was a story (I digress😤)‼️Sometimes less us more 🤷🏾♀️. An implicit gesture & or comment would have sufficed…clear & concise 🤷🏾♀️‼️Meanwhile, I’m loyal to author’s who desire to empower our communities through their artistry of words‼️I expected substantive characters/plots from the books/series I engage with not fantasy soft porn disguised as rom com genres 🤬‼️I’m offended my time was wasted‼️
I love a drama free book sometime, and this was it. I love seeing a man and woman giving and receiving love and affection respectfully. Read this book asap! Seriously, I laughed hard, swooned, and fanned myself- sometimes simultaneously. Thad and Drea were perfect, like seriously this was perfect. Romance, two people who loved each other for years yet afraid to tell the other finally do and they go from 0-100. There’s no conflict, they talk and communicate effectively, and their admiration for each other is top tier. The scene with Mark making Thad sick with the sauce is living rent free in my head! I’m still curious what all that man put in there because Thad was down bad the whole weekend. Seriously, I’m all discombobulated by how much I enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to see everyone back together for Nadia’s book. I need to know who she is texting fr fr. Happy Reading Y’all!💋
“Spend My Life With You” was a fast-paced romantic comedy story featuring Thad and Drea. I say fast because the couple was moving to marry like it was going out of style, and I loved that for them. Of course, there was hesitation from those around them, but “when you know, you know.” The couple had already wasted years by not acting on their feelings. The storyline was easy to read, and I couldn’t help but root for the couple to win. It was sweet to see their love unfold; I loved the friendly banter, sexual chemistry, and quirky humor between the couple. The author did a good job showing family dynamics and how it impacts marriage. It was clear Thad and Drea had an Unbreakable bond. Very cute story.
I got this book recently during one of the free ebook events.
It's a total different speed altogether. The pace was initially fast then it slowed down during the middle and towards the end.
It gives an interesting perspective to love in that the two had known each other for many years before deciding to delve into a relationship. It talks of the courage to ask for what you want and even long term friendships have challenges when it becomes a relationship and communicating is a key factor. They both were considerate and nothing like black love with well established characters.
The only thing I didn't like was the slow pace of the novel from the middle to the end but I may have been a testament to the steady pace of their relationship
If you love to see longtime crushes finally admitting their feelings to each other and stepping into a committed relationship despite their fears... this is the story for you. A bit instalove-ish honestly, especially considering the length of time between admission of feelings and getting married and moving in together, but it works out for these two people who have known each other for so long.
There's no majorly insane conflicts that they have to overcome aside from learning and understanding each other, so it's a simple romance with a nice humorous side and a handful of fun supporting characters.
Wait, did I forget to mention that their chemistry is explosive and there's plenty of dirty talk and hot intimate scenes?

I love Thad and Drea so much!! This was such a soft, sweet, and low-drama kind of love story just easy and full of heart. No over-the-top mess, just two people who’ve been secretly crushing for years finally confessing their love and jumping right in!
Their weekly check-ins were so cute, and the way they loved each other’s quirks? Adorable. Plus, they both can throw down in the kitchen! I wanted to jump in the book and grab a plate.
Of course, they hit some bumps—marriage isn’t all smooth sailing, especially when it’s still new and y’all are still learning each other. But whew… let’s just say the bedroom stayed active 😂😂 baby they were fckin fckin!!
Such a good read. I’m definitely ready for Nadia’s story next!
I really liked this one! A lot of people say it's too slow, but honestly, that's what I enjoyed about it. Instead of ending with them confessing their love, we actually get to see them jump right into marriage and figure out real life together. I loved watching them navigate that first year—celebrating holidays, being stupidly in love, and even having that big blow-up (which was honestly hilarious because only one of them was actually mad). There were some good steamy scenes too but what made it work was how emotionally open they were with each other, really putting each other first even when things got tense. It felt real and sweet at the same time.

This book was a breathe of fresh air. There was no drama just two people who got together and built their life together. Thad and Drea were made for each other. The way they were able to meet all of their minor issues head-on and not let them linger was different from what I'm used to reading. They waited so long to get with each other that they were determined not to fail at their marriage. They are the couple you see, and just know their love will make it. There were some really sweet moments in this book, and quite a few laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed this book and will be reading more from this author.
One of the reviews I read said that they were way too mushy in this book and I agree 100%. And that's as a person who loves corny mushy stuff. It was so much so that I had to will myself to finish it and that started at page 38. Book one was so good compared to this one. It doesn't even seem like the same person wrote them both. Spoiler alert...they get teary eyed and/or almost cry the whole book. The most mushy crybabies ever.
Was this book fast pace? Yes, but it had so much joy that I went along for the ride. I haven't read two people that are so committed to making their marriage work than these two. Every single thing that tested their decision they worked on it together and always taking in their partners happiness.
Spend My Life with You was a beautiful love story that followed the first year of marriage of a couple destined to be together. It showed the growing pains of newlyweds as they combined lives and learned how to prioritize their relationships. If you are looking for a books that shows love without heavy drama, this a great read
I thoroughly enjoyed this funny, gripping, sizzler of a romance tale. Thad and Drea were instant characters so developed they drew you in. Thad and Drea's love for each other goes from zero straight to ten by chapter two. This book was entertaining and filled with love from beginning to The End. Job well done by Monique Fisher.
This book really could have been a damn novella! This really was a huge waste of words. I'm trying not to DNF so many books, so I forced my way through this shit! I just felt so relieved when I was met with the "THE END." It makes me not want to tag any more of her books cause the first one in this series wasn't that damn good anyways
I picked this book because the cover is cute, even though I'm not typically a "cozy romance" reader. It definitely delivered on what it promises. It's a nice low-stress story where people talk to each other like responsible adults and get all of the good things they deserve.
I was so eager to read Drea and Thad’s story. It was too syrupy! A new marriage is never as smooth as theirs. I love Black Love, but this was too unrealistic. The first book was better!
I didn’t enjoy this book at all! The storyline was lackluster and the spice wasn’t that great either. I’m so disappointed because I loved the first book, but this book felt rushed. Sadly I won’t be recommending it.
The writing felt almost like it was a completely different author than the first. It was hard to ground myself because the story switched from 1st person (I, me, my), to 3rd (the omniscient view), sometimes in the same sentence!
